Jack blinked when Sayo seemingly expressed concern for his injury. Why did she do that? She was the one at risk here. As far as Jack knew, she had no combat-applicable powers. Why was she concerned over Jack? Filing it away as one of the things that confused him about people sometimes Jack sighed. "I'm fine Sayo. I happen to be a but sturdier than a normal human. I'll be fine if I just get some bandages on the wound." He turned back towards the trail of the thief and motioned for Sayo to follow. "Come on. Our thief's scent is pretty strong now. Lets get your phone and skedaddle." He still kept very close to the girl he agreed to help. There was something in the area that caused the hairs on his neck to stand up. He didn't say anything though. He didn't want to worry Sayo. The ominous mist was barley at the edge of his vision. But Jack dismissed it as just the evening light playing tricks on his eyes. Besides, the thief was very close. They would be leaving the area as soon as Jack "requested" he give back the phone. In other words, the Lycan was going to do a Batman impression and lift the thief into the air by his neck. Edited by Epicjester, Aug 26 2014, 02:23 PM.

“Very well.” Sayo followed Jack, happy that it wasn’t going to take long. She shared his enthusiasm in making it quick, it’s never a good idea to be in the middle of the woods at night. Not to mention, they should get Jack’s wound treated as it looked disturbing and unsightly. “I’ll call an ambulance for your wound once I recover my phone.” She said with a hint of a smile, her good words was only out of politeness. She wasn’t concern for Jack but people like to hear that others care for them even if they truly didn’t deep down. She didn’t miss the cautious way he moved, how he stuck close to her despite no threat in sight. “What’s my thief currently doing? Can you tell?” Sayo got the part about him being able to sense someone’s presence through smell but she wondered if he could do more. The sun was starting to set, the sky turned a splash of orange, pink and red. It was very pretty though a bad sign as it showed them how little time they have. The temperature was slowly beginning to drop in relation to the sinking sun. Voices in the distance of where the hooded mugger was can be heard though still hard to make out for a normal human. They belonged to two people, one male and one familiar female, having a heated discussion. “Why have you not release him? And give him back his stuff. There is little time and he should not be here.” The miko female scolded. “Whats the point of releasing him if he’s still unconscious. Besides he doesn’t need all these shiny boxes.” The male growled in irritation. He’d just came back from surveying the area and a lecture from his partner was the last he need. His dog ears twitch and he stood then whispered seriously, “There’s people approaching.” Edited by Sayo Rie, Aug 27 2014, 01:38 PM.

Jack paused for a moment when Sayo offered to call an ambulance for him. "Um... Thanks.. I guess." He rubbed the back of his head. Didn't he just tell her that he would be ok? Why was she showing such concern for him? He should be the one worried about her. Granted he was rather grateful for the offer. His wound did sting a fair bit. He held up his hand when she inquired about his thief. He raised a finger to his lips. Closing his eyes, the Lycan focused on his hearing. He could make out the voices and their conversation. Apparently the male had ears on par with Jack's. That was interesting. The Lycan had yet to meet someone with enhanced senses like him. "The archer, our thief and one unfamiliar male are up ahead. The male can hear us." He looked at her. "Stay right behind me." He began walking towards the voices. His hands raised in a peaceful gesture. When he reached them he would begin speaking, his tone friendly. "Hi again." He pointed at the thief. "That's the guy who took my friend's phone. Feel free to keep whatever else he's got." He broke into a smile. "I would appreciate it if you didn't shoot at me again." He lowered his hands. "Once we get the phone back, we're outta here." He kept an eye out, senses alert. The sun was no setting and making it harder for him to see. The lower temperature wasn't helping. He was very tempted to transform into a wolf just for the warm fur. As they come into view, Sayo could see the miko that attacked them and strange creature-like man. The male was growled as they approach, no doubt because of Jack’s bloody appearance. He became passive, though still alert, as Jack explained their situation. While Jack took a friendly gesture, Sayo cross her arms and glared at the miko. The wolfish boy might easily forgive, Sayo was still upset with the archer. Slumped and unconscious next to a tree was the mugger who stole her phone. Around him was a scatter of cell phones, cards and small cash. It seemed like her thief was thoroughly searched after being knocked out. “Kikyo?” The man gave the miko a questioning look when he heard that she was the cause of Jack’s wounds. Kikyo looked back at him without a hint of guilty in her expression. “It was a better alternative than rendering him unconscious, Inuyasha. He can still run, escape.” Kikyo explained herself and Inuyasha grimace at her tone, she was clearly blaming him for what happened to their first victim. Then the miko turned to Sayo and Jack, “If you are that insistent on having back your item then come and take it. I do not have time to worry over those who choose material possession. The misama is very close now, come Inuyasha.” Kikyo walked away and at this point Sayo was openly scowling at her. Was she just insulted? How dare she! Attacking her then insulting her. Sayo sighed, calming herself and walked passed the man to the unconscious thief. Searching through the pile of other stolen phones and easily found her’s. Relieved she pocketed her phone and inspected her thief. Her day was ruined because of him. “Uhh.” Inuyasha was clearly distress and confused. He was torn between staying and going after Kikyo. “Hey, I’ll let you keep your metal box but take that guy with you. This place is about to get dangerous and I would take him to safety myself but I’m kinda busy.” “It’s called a ‘phone’.” Sayo corrected him. Then she smiled and lied, “Of course, we’ll take him out of this place with us.” |

Jack had decided that he liked the fellow beastman far more than the miko. Not only did he show concern for others. Bit he was willing to talk instead of attacking. He snorted when the miko said that shooting him was the better alternative. Granted if her friend decided to try and jump in and attack him in hand to hand, it would have gone a fair bit messier."Or you could do the smart thing and ask me to leave or tell me why I have to leave. Or hey, maybe put up a sign or two." .....What? He did get shot be her remember. Let him mouth off a little. "Someone has obviously never heard of sentimental value." Jack muttered as the miko showed her disdain of people who valued material possessions. Had she ever lost something as important as a phone? It's really freaking annoying to get a new one, not to mention expensive. He looked over the thief, he was very tempted to leave him there. But his sense of morality and the fact that Sayo had said that they would take him away told him otherwise. Sighing, Jack bent over and hefted the mugger over his uninjured shoulder. "Glad we settled that without anyone important getting seriously hurt." He began walking. Eager to get away before this "misama" the miko mentioned caught up with them. |

“Thanks.” Inuyasha nodded and followed the miko with unhuman-like speed, feeling reassured the thief was in safe hands. Sayo waved him goodbye as disappeared after his partner. Once Sayo was confident he was out of hearing range, she stopped waving and turned to Jack. Noticing he was actually intending to care for her thief ‘s safety, Sayo shook her head at his naivety. “Leave him here, Jack.” She gestured with her arm in a dismissive manner then turn around and started walking a head. Stopping suddenly, she turned her head to Jack, “Let’s go before the ‘miasma’ comes.” She assumed that’s the terrible thing the miko was overreacting about. A terrible odor wasn’t worth a shot with an arrow, so Sayo concluded it must be a sort of poisonous smell headed their way. The miasma was getting closer. It ate everything in it’s path. A terrible aura of death, reeking of decay. The archer shot her holy arrows to cleanse it and the beastman used his large sword to blow it away. While the duo fought it, the miasma was only slowed down. |

When Sayo told him to leave the thief alone Jack blinked. The idea of leaving someone who was defenceless in harms way did not compute with the Lycan. Jack was not comfortable leaving someone in danger. Letting out a sigh, Jack pointed to the encroaching miasma. "I don't know if you can smell that. But that mist smells like pure decay. I'm not leaving someone defenceless in danger." He began walking beside Sayo, matching her pace. "If anything you are in the most danger here, seeing as how I can move a fair bit faster than you." As he was saying this, he extended his claws. Jabbing one claw into the mugger's shoulder. It was intended to be a small but painful cut in an effort to wake up their mugger. If the man would wake up, he could flee and then Jack could just worry about keeping Sayo safe from the foul smelling mist. He pondered over the existence of the mist. There wasn't exactly anything he could do about it apart from run away. He was a close range fighter. Fighting something intangible like mist was beyond his abilities. |

The man did not even stir at Jack’s prodding. He had the same build as Jack but slightly smaller and lighter. An average looking man in his 20’s but made intimidating by the black hoodie he wore. The miasma was getting closer, almost visible if one was to squint. It was like purple and black fog that fizzled everything in it’s touch. “Exactly why you should leave him here.” Sayo continued walking again, annoyed. “You’re hurt and already burden to care for me. He’s going to slow you down.” She was confident she could get away from the miasma without Jack’s help, she haven’t seen it yet so it’s probably still far off. But to add more points, she included his ‘duty’ to her. A thief over a pretty girl? Surely it’s a no brainer. “And he’s a thief, not worth your energy.” Sayo commented harshly. The hooded man stole her phone, probably a man abandoned by society and there was nothing to gain from saving him. “Besides he’ll wake up and leave on his own.” Hoping it would be enough to console him. Maybe on a good day and the defenseless individual wasn’t a thief she would be more incline to help. Edited by Sayo Rie, Aug 30 2014, 11:24 AM.

Jack was torn. It was true that he promised to help Sayo. He didn't want to leave the girl alone when there was such an ominous smell on the wind. But at the same time he couldn't leave a defenceless man, even a thief, unconscious in the path of the fog. Grimacing, Jack had to agree with Sayo. He had lied before, his shoulder was throbbing in pain and the added weight of the man was slowing him down. "Just gimme a sec alright?" He told Sayo, looking around. Seeing a nearby tall tree he walked up to it. Shifting his fingernails and toenails into claws, at this point Sayo would notice that the boy had always been barefoot, Jack made his way high up the tree in a series of leaps. His powerful legs and his claws digging into the wood aiding his ascent. Placing the unconscious body against the truck on a sturdy looking branch. Jack hoped that that would keep the man safe from the mist. Hopefully it would be unable to rise to this height. When he awoke, it wouldn't be much of an effort for him to climb down. Dropping back down next to Sayo, the lycan nodded to her. "Alright, lets get out of here." He looked back, the mist was barley visible. Hopefully, the thief would be alright in his elevated position. But right now, Jack had Sayo's safety to worry about. Edited by Epicjester, Aug 30 2014, 04:39 PM.

Sayo smiled, pleased that Jack was finally being reasonable. Again she was glad she didn’t have do to use her powers on him. He was so easy to convince, easy to make him do her bidding. She knew it was out his responsibility to her and that he needed to protect her. She wasn’t going to complain, his belief made her life easier. She allowed him to do with the thief as he wishes. It cost them some time but if that gave him comfort then she would permit him to do so. Not that she had any physical control over him, she could have made a big fuss about it and that wouldn’t be pretty. Sayo looked down at his feet. Was he barefoot the whole time or did he lose his shoes during the way? As she watched Jack climbed the tree, she marvelled at his creativity. There could have been other, and maybe better, ways of saving the mugger but she wasn't going to waste her brain cells trying to come up with one. Once he was down and back by her side, she continued walking at a normal pace. Everything was darker now and she had a hard time seeing her surrounds than she did when previously entering the vegetation. “You made the right choice.” She said approvingly. “It would be mad to save a man who put us in this wild situation.” There seemed to be a something like a shadow from where Jack at looked back. It was hard to tell, but it looked to be moving toward them at a slow pace and Sayo wasn’t going to stand and watch to confirm her suspicion. “Is there something there?” Sayo asked Jack, tilting her head to the direction of the shadow. |

Jack sighed as Sayo told him he made the right choice. She may have been right, Sayo was more important at the moment in comparison to a mugger. But it still left a bad taste in his mouth. "You're probably right." He muttered. "Still feels wrong." Jack's compassionate heart disliked the idea of leaving someone in danger. But he already had his hands full keeping an eye on Sayo. Plus he did initially promise the girl. He intended to see her out of the park, safe from harm. And now Sayo had given her attention to the mist. Which was now barely visible in the darkness. "I'm not sure what it is. Some kind of mist." He spoke, doing his best to keep any form of worry from his voice. The smell that mist have off was horrendous. It promised him death decay and all manner of unpleasant things. "But I think it's what our trigger-happy miko was warning us about." He Picked up his pace slightly, motioning for Sayo to do the same. Worst case scenario and the mist speeds up, he can always pick up the much lighter girl and simply run. "As I said before. It does not smell pleasant." He wondered for a moment about what it could possibly be. "I hope the archer and the dog guy know what they are doing. It's not like Jack could fight the mist. It was not something he could claw, smash or bite. only outrun or avoid. It is quite hard to deal with something like that without the proper equipment. |

She picked up her pace to keep up with Jack’s faster stride. “They looked like they know what they were doing.” Sayo gave her observation on two people Jack mentioned. It came out as a more of a compliment and she quickly added, “The archer needs work on her social skills.” She looked behind her again to see the shadow slowly spreading forward. Indeed it looked more like a dark mist that blanketed everything. “I think we’re fine, it’s still a distance away.” She commented on Jack’s quicken pace and his unvoiced worries. Then, as if it heard Sayo, the mist began to overflow and gained speed. A crack of lightning and loud thunder was heard. Whatever had slowed the mist either broke or left and now the decaying touch was approaching them fast. “I react my statement.” Sayo paused walking, completely shocked. She tightened the muffler around her neck. “I think we can make it if we run?” |

"Agreed. Running sounds good right now." Jack broke out into a run, careful to keep slow enough so Sayo was still ahead of him. Deciding that he may as well pull out all the stops, Jack initiated his transformation for the second time that day. His eyes shone gold and his skeleton snapped.crackled and popped as it increased in size. His muscles tore and stretched as they grew to match the warped skeleton. After a few moments and a few groans of pain, Sayo would find herself being picked up by Jack. Who had once again taken on his most powerful form. The great beast would charge through the woods at an incredible pace. Hopefully outrunning the foul mist. |

Sayo ran, not as fast as she would have liked due to her shoes that were ill fitted for this situation. Though she was distracted enough by mist, Sayo still noticed Jack’s transformation. Again it wasn’t a pretty sight as he shifted into a beast. His terrifying form gave her more incentive to run. “Why are you-” Sayo began to ask, turning her head to glance at him before deciding to concentrate on the path in front of her. He wasn’t planning on fighting the fog, is he? It would be a stupid move that she wouldn’t forgive him for. But as he moved closer, Sayo realized with horror he intended to attack her. Before she could defend herself, Jack picked her up and began his escape. She squeaked in surprise and blushed, embarrassed that she misinterpret him. Of course he wouldn’t leave her. Sayo clutched on to him as he moved with incredible speed. The wind whipped her hair back in a mess. Some of his blood from an earlier wound smudged on to her but she didn’t care as there bigger things to worry about. At the rate the wolf was running, he out ran the decaying mist and created a good space between them. They would be out and clear in to time. |

Run That was all that was on Jack's mind the moment as he picked up Sayo and held the girl close to him. He pumped his massive legs furiously in an effort to get this girl to safety. Since her safety was all that mattered to him right now. He pushed his body further towards its limits, the wind whipping his fur as he dashed through the undergrowth. The feeling of an attractive girl clinging on to him tightly gave him more incentive to run and spurred him onward. He was pulling away from the mist with every passing second. He remembered the route he took to get to the thief. He was following the lingering trail that Sayo and himself had left behind them. It would not be long before they cleared the foliage and made it back to the open area of the park. Once they were clear, the werewolf would place Sayo down, his movements exceedingly gentle for a beast his size. He would then cancel his transformation, his forms shrinking and compressing down to it's normal size. His muscles ached in protest from the repeated transformations and his stomach let out a furious grumble of hunger. Jack was going to need to have a rather large dinner to make up for the lost calories. It would be then that he noticed the blood on Sayo's face. He immediately began panicking, not realizing that the blood carried his own scent and not Sayo's. "Oh god you're hurt!" He cried as he gently took Sayo's face in his hands and began inspecting her head, trying to find the non-existent wound. "I'm so sorry Sayo. It was stupid of me to grab you. Hang on let me call you an ambulance." He was quickly becoming flustered and ashamed of himself. He was supposed to be the one protecting this girl and it seems he inadvertently harmed her while he was trying to help her. Inwardly the Lycan was kicking himself as he fumbled in his pockets trying to retrieve his own phone. Edited by Epicjester, Sep 6 2014, 01:21 PM.
