Saturday Morning 8:00 AM - Street Corner Weather: Partly Cloudy with a chance of Rain Running. A simple thing. One foot in front of the other. A stride, meant to get from one place to another. Speed would vary, but the core intent was the same. It was a product of evolution in humans. Marathons were done, after all. Humanity was meant to run. It was in their genes, in their instinct. To run, originally, was to hunt. To survive. But now, it's recreation, exercise, a sport. But at the end of it all, it was a simple survival instinct. Which was, partly, the reasoning that led Ami to this particular street corner. Considering the recent strenuous activities that she had been embroiled in, Ami thought it might be a good idea to actually put her body through some actual exercise. Granted, she was naturally fit, but it couldn't help to, you know, exercise. Yes, she was wearing casual clothing, she had her fingerless gloves on, but it was the intent that mattered at the end! With that in mind, she was determined to push herself. A simple run would do the trick. Even if there was nothing else, at least she could walk. Walking, running, striding, whatever. As long as she kept moving. And so, it began. A brisk jog along the suburban streets, a leisurely morning with clouds in the sky, birds chirping, and absolutely zero crazy things happening. |

He kept a nice pace. Hugh Carter yawned as he ran. His legs were probably the most important part of his body, seeing as he used them so often. Later, he would go for some rooftop hopping like always. It was pretty sunny out right now, but it seemed like it might rain due to the fact of the storm clouds off in the distance. Awkwardly, he was now jogging up next to a girl now. He kept quiet of course, there wasn't any reason for the two of them to talk to each other. Awhile ago, he would have tried to strike up a conversation and try to get her to go out with him. Though, he had to admit to himself the girl was pretty, he was a different person now. He yawned again. He always liked his morning runs. It had become a routine of his, and although the reason he was doing so was something he wasn't going to involve himself in anymore..he couldn't help but keep up his ritual. He kept his distance between himself and the girl, not wanting to invade her personal space. |

Ah, running. Matt had done more than his fair share of running in his time. Sometimes towards something big and dangerous, but more often not away from such things. Still, it was something of a favored past-time of the Scotsman, if only because it let him clear his mind some before the confusion of the modern world set back in. It was something of a morning ritual for him now that he had figured out how to make digital alarms work. However, it seemed that there was a couple of other people on his usual path. While they may have been fast in their own regards, Matt was easily able to eventually catch up to them with nothing more than quick walking. "Mornin' to the both of ye," he would say, a smile upon his face. |

What is this thing?

There was one more addition to the run. But it would probably be a shock to the others present. Running up to the group and giving a little yip of greeting was a large black wolf. The beast had no problem keeping up with the other's gathered. Jack's powerful limbs easily allowed him to glide across the ground with hardly any effort. He had no intention of doing anything apart from running alongside the group. His pack instincts telling him that running alongside others is a good thing that should be practised as much as possible. He was doing nothing more than having a morning run throughout the city. Since others seemed to have the same idea, he joined them. Thankful for the company. It never occurred to him that the appearance of a large wolf would be a shock to the others. After all, don't weird things happen in Hyakuji on a daily basis? |
