Character Name: Lilica
Gender: Female, by choice.
Age: "Awwwwwhhhh, why do I have to tell this? I don't see how it's important for a good story~" (Very, very old by human standards, but young for being a Fae)
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 121 lbs.
Description or Image of Character Appearance: Lilica is fairly pretty by most standards. She has soft, delicate skin, her hair seems to be lustrous and beautiful without any work on her part, she has nice, long legs, etc. The list could go on and on, and if she starts talking about herself, it does. However, there's some things that just seem... wrong. Maybe it's the way that her mouth doesn't always match up exactly with the words she is saying, maybe it's the way that her voice can sometimes be just ever so slightly behind her mouth movements, or maybe it's the times that her eyes seem to lack that certain spark of life. In short, she sometimes falls into the Uncanny Valley of humanity, and it shows through to people who spend long periods of time around her.

The reason for this is simple, and easy to deduce for anyone with a large amount of experience with either Fae beings or illusions. Like all Fae that intend to stay in the realm of Mortals for a long amount of time, Lilica has crafted herself a body, one that she can conceal her true self in, and that can comfortably interact with normal people without too much trouble. Almost nothing can penetrate this disguise, barring some tremendously powerful anti-illusion magic, and so for all intents and purposes, Lilica's disguise is her true form for as long as she's at Hyakuji.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Occupation: Fair Folk Harvester/Storyteller, and Incidentally a student.
Grade Level: 1st year
Powers/ Abilities:

Glamour - If there's one thing that Fair Folk excel at, it's illusions. Lilica is no exception to this, though her self-imposed story limitations have reduced it to far lesser levels while she's in Hyakuji. That being said, her illusions are still remarkably potent by the standards of that sort of magic. She can create what are essentially "real" objects at will. These objects can not be used to harm anyone, nor can she create living creatures with these illusions. In addition, they last for a few seconds at the most. In short, this is an ability good for sight gags, but that's about all. It has no combat use outside of potential distractions.
Cataphractoi - As Lilica is currently in the role of a Harvester, she is actually forbidden from defending herself by her own means, as that would make her stories far less interesting. That being said, Hyakuji is a dangerous place, and she knew that before manifesting herself there. So, as the Fae often do in such situations, she found a loophole. While she can't defend herself, that doesn't mean that she can't have something else do it for her. And that led to the recruitment of her Cataphractoi. This guardian has two separate forms, detailed below.

  • The Toadies - The non-combative/default form of Lilica's guardian, the Toadies are a trio of small, blue, toad-like creatures. They weigh about 30 pounds, and stand in at barely two feet tall. They're actually relatively feeble and inept in combative situations, often appearing more comical than anything resembling threatening. While they are armed with blunt wooden swords, they can't actually seem to bruise anyone, let alone actually do any lasting damage. That being said, they're surprirsingly durable, and can take large amounts of punishment. In addition, if they actually do perish, they reform in Lilica's presence three days later.

The Toadies

[*]Derpicus - While the Toadies have their purpose, if Lilica found herself in a life or death situation, she would be the first to admit that they're virtually useless. However, that is simply because the Toadies are the non-combat form of her real Guardian. In truly dangerous situations, they can combine to form the true threat. His name is Derpicus, and he is an extremely skilled warrior. There was a time that he was mortal warrior, who supposedly fell in love with a Fae princess. However, the story goes that she refused to acknowledge him until he proved himself the best warrior in the land of mortals, in Makai, and even among the Fae. And so he has spent all his time trying to prove himself, fighting against anything and everything that presented itself.

Derpicus can appear when each Toadie has been hit at least once, or when an individual brings iron within 5 feet of Lilica. He has no magical abilities, though he is very competent with axe-fighting and extremely strong. However, thanks once again to Lilica's role limitations, he can't come in at full power, meaning that his strength is reduced from its maximum levels. While serving as Lilica's Cataphractoi, Derpicus is strong enough to casually flip over a vending machine or shatter concrete with two or three forceful blows. With time and focus, he can lift and move up to three tons. In short, he's a dangerous physical combatant: Perfect for a place like Hyakuji.

Equipment You Have:

  • Gossamer Dreamcatchers - Lilica has a near infinite amount of these jewelry like items, and will often wear them to school or any other outings she makes. They gather ambient emotion or dreams from living beings, and stores them for the consumption of any Fair Folk at a later time. In short, these are the tools that she uses to perform her duties as a Harvester.
  • Shiftweave Outfit - Lilica only possesses one set of clothes, brought with her from the realm of the Fae. However, this outfit can take on the appearance of any non-combative garment in the world, from any time period. Lilica often as it in the appearance of the Hyakuji uniform, but she can change it at will.

Personality Description: Imagine you are talking to a girl. She seems nice enough, but something about her is... Off. Maybe it's the odd giggle at something nobody else would find funny, maybe it's the way that she seems to violate your personal space. At times, it seems like it's accidental, something that you could take as unintentional flirting. At other times, though, it's as if she's simply testing your limits, seeing how you react, what you do. She's quick to smile, to laugh, to do what other people want. That is what Lilica is like on a day-to-day basis when interacting with other students.

Of course, those who spend long amounts of time with her eventually come to realize one simple fact: She's absolutely insane. Well, insane from a human standpoint. As far as a Courtless Fae goes, she's positively well adjusted. That being said, there's some genuinely disturbing points about her. For one, she seems to not really realize that other people have their own motivations and desires, and often seems genuinely surprised when people do things that go against her preconceived ideas, often saying "Why did you do that? That's not what I wanted you to do!" On top of that, she's often baffled by the concept of becoming violent herself. Asking other people to hurt someone, yes. But hurting someone yourself? That's something characters are supposed to do, not a Storyteller!

However, she genuinely is interested in the people of Hyakuji, and always willing to talk with them about anything they want to talk about, for as long as they wish to talk about it. And while she doesn't understand certain fundamental aspects about human nature, she is trying to get the hang of it. In short, Lilica has the makings of a good person. But she's going to have a long way to go to become that.

Personal History:

Once, there was a maiden...
The Fae are a strange race, even when using the yardstick of a place like Hyakuji. While there are some who claim to have at least some understanding of the Fair Folk, that's mostly within the ordered confines of their courtly hierarchy. The understanding of certain other groups outside of those confines, though? Well, there's only one real acknowledgement by the occult community in that regard: They were a odd bunch. While they conformed to the contractual nature of the Courts, they tended to differ in just about every other way. In addition, they seemed obsessed with the idea of stories. And so begins our story, with one of these Courtless Fae who calls herself Lilica.

Who wanted nothing more than to be a part of a truly interesting story,
The gemstones that made up Lilica's body sparkled in the light of the fire that literally danced along her form. The wavers of flame would change into miniature human forms that would joyfully and gracefully twirl as the moved along her crystalline contours. However, their enjoyment was not shared by the face of the body they shared as she glared at the mirror located across her hall, at the half-blooded prince of the Winter Court who's image was there. How dare he ruin the kidnapping story that she had been working on for ages by going to this Hyakuji place! So what if the mortals had some strange time issues? That was hardly anything new or unique, especially given the way that time flowed in Faerie at times. As far as the courtless Fair Folk was concerned, the land of mortals was a dull, uninspired place. Sure, she could still snatch him up from there with no difficulties, but it wasn't nearly as entertaining as stealing him away from the Winter Court itself! Plot twists were all well and good, but only when they were organized by other Storytellers, not by these willful mortal characters and their shenanigans!

What was truly amazing, though, was that the half-blood seemed to want to stay with these unguided characters. Such boring people, not reigned over by the Fae and being sent about their stories in a proper way, and he wanted to stay there? And the handful of mortal characters who had conversed with her before called her mad! Still, she would watch for a while, observe the characters and the half-blood. After all, maybe she could turn this twist around, and change her kidnapping story into a rescue from boredom. Ah, yes, that would be nice. Best to wait and see....

so she watched. She listened. And she wrote, and wrote, and wrote....
Perhaps she had been a bit hasty in writing these characters off as boring. This Hyakuji place was downright fascinating! Unlike the characters she created, these ones seemed to be self-directing, and would interact with each other with no prompts from a Storyteller! She had heard of such things from the occasional Court representative she had spoken with, but she had always taken that as some sort of tale they told her to try and veer her away from her own stories into the order of one of the Seasons. She couldn't get enough of their stories, whether it was their epic world-saving exploits, or their more personal affairs. Eventually, she started making requests for her Harvesters to gather the emotions of these characters for her own personal use, both for the inspiration of new characters and consumption. In short, she became obsessed with Hyakuji.

Until the ink of her stories became her blood, the papers of the book her body, and the characters her life.
Eventually, just watching these unique characters was not enough for her. She needed to do something more, involve herself directly in their affairs. But doing so at her full capabilities would be simply disastrous at best, especially with how these characters tended to react to beings of great power. That, combined with the ramifications of the Court's outlook on one of the Courtless choosing to interfere in mortal affairs for no reason other than simple entertainment. However, there was one solution: She could serve each of the courts as an independent Harvester. Doing so meant that she would have to vastly reduce her power as part of a trial period, to see if she was both competent and trustworthy enough to warrant her full powers while amongst mortals. And so begins her new stories, amongst these strange and interesting characters.

Mashed Potatoes? "As a Storyteller, it matters not if there is no spoon. So long as I have a character willing to feed me, that is enough~"
