Serenity listened carefully to what the others thought about rules, it was rather normal considering common opinion regarding rules. Laws and guidelines that existed to prevent chaos and destruction, of course there were times that the laws and guidelines meant to protect were also used to harm. After listening to both of the boy's who she assumed were interested in joining the committee Serenity herself spoke up. "Rules represent the balance that is needed for everyday life. If they are to loose then chaos may follow and it could very well devolve into a scenario where might makes right." She spoke thinking about her words, she didn't know how much of a ruler lover Heleth was but this next opinion could potentially leave her in hot water. "However, if the rules are to strict then choice is taken away and the institute be it organization, group or country is no better then a tyranny. Rules are meant to be balanced and flexible, allowing a degree of freedom as long as it does not interrupt or cause chaos in the lives of other people." Serenity sighed, she was asked for her opinion and she gave it. There was no reason for her to hide he true feelings on the matter, she had seen herself what people who made the rules could turn into. Hearing the other member's reasoning for joining the club they seemed oddly elaborate. Her reason was simply because she had spare time on her hands and she would most likely be good at it, granted that seemed a bit of a shallow reason to join but it was indeed her reasoning behind it. "My reason for joining." Serenity spoke as she raised a finger to her chin in thought. "I guess it's nothing as extravagant as either of yours." She said motioning to the two other boys. "I'd have to say it's more of a mixture of I would believe I'd be skilled at it and I want to do it." Serenity said shrugging in apathy, if she did end up joining she would put all her effort into it but there was no point lying about her reasoning for wanting to join. |

The demon listened to the three answers. "True rules are a necessary mean to achieve a goal. They are solidified methods that ensure a goal." Heleth paused. Thinking about the three answers. "Rules do guide, rules can help. Rules do balance your lives. Each of us has an own set of rules that will be instinctively followed. Just like running impulsively through the hallways to move from point A to B when there's really no reason to do so." Heleth alluded at Rakutsu. It was true, rushing to the committe office was just an impulsive action. The boy just found her in the room by chance. He could still be running up and down through the school at super speed endangering others just to find her. Obviously she couldn't let it slide so soon, could she? "Collective rules have to be observed, and they have to override individual ones in the attempt to balance everybody's existances. Rules sacrifice part of our freedom to safely coexist and be safe from others. I think Rules are selfish in nature, and they have to be upheld for that very same reason. They protect you. Then they protect the others." Did she sound blunt? Or mean in some way? Irrelevant. That was her point of view after all, and was just as worth as that of the tree candidates asking to join the committee. "Rules should be flexible, I agree, and their bounds should constantly be pushed" she confessed, turning her head to Serenity "But never to break them, only to test their elasticity." That said, Heleth turned to Rakutsu "No, you shouldn't run through the hallways in any case anyway" The demoness flashed him her trademark fanged grin. "As for your reasons to join, they all seemed valid ones, but Serenity's simple reason sounds more honest to me." Heleth waved her hair. They all seemed well intentioned, but serenity's reason was the one she preferred. It was personal, and it was aimed in doing what she thought she could do best. They were going to get along, she thought. "Anyway, what are your powers? Should the need to fight to protect another student or the school arise, what are your weapons?" |

She was asking for information on his powers? Well that's understandable. Although he had no problem explaining his powers, he had no intention of telling anyone their source if he could avoid it. After all Heleth already thought he wasn't being honest. A few more omissions of the truth couldn't hurt. "Short range shadow manipulation Mastema-san." Shin explained, as two tendrils sprang up beside him. The ends of both of them forming into hands and waving at everyone present. "As well as that." He continued, as suddenly fell into his own shadow. And then rose from the shadow of the chair behind the desk. "I have a short ranged teleport." He snapped his fingers and summoned his sword to his hand. "I draw my powers from this sword here." He stopped for a moment realising that he just drew a deadly weapon inside a school. Walking over to Serenity he lightly tapped her on the head with the sharp end of his blade. "However there is no need to worry about me harming innocents. Unless I view a supernatural creature (such as yourself) as a threat or if they're a normal human, the sword is simply a fancy looking boken." He turned back to Heleth and flashed her a smile that could be considered flirtatious. "Is that sufficient Mastema-san? Or would you rather see my abilities in action?" He jerked his thumb over at Rakustu. "And it seems that our late arrival has super speed." Edited by Silverback, Jul 30 2014, 05:44 PM.

" As you saw I can run at superspeed at 800 mph. I would be faster, but people who are born with superspeed have to wait until puberty until the powers comes. This means my abilities as a speedster are limited right now. I can run for a whole hour with out rest. I can run on water and up buildings. I can't run on snowy or rainy places I'll get send flying. I can attempt to dodge liner attacks by using his speed to position himself away from the path of the attack before it is fired. It may not work on unpredictable attacks that don't travel in a straight line. I can fight at fast speeds throwing rapid punches. My speed perception allows me to process information faster then anyone, which helps when run so I won't run in too anything. I can even process information so fast is as if time as slowed down. But it's to risky it would take 30 seconds and I can only do it for a minute. I can do that again after 5 days during that time my speed goes down to 278 mphs. I can vibrate the molecules of a object to its melting or combustion point. I can keep this up for (2 post) at a time before needing to stop. If I doesn't I can risk my own molecules to catch on fire or even melting his skin, flesh, and bones in my arms," says as he takes off his black gloves and rolled up his sleeve showing some burn marks on his arms. " I can't not run for more then 5 minutes without this," says pulling his shirt up to show his skin type suit." this suit makes sure I don't catch on fire from friction and it also explains my burnt face." Finishes explaining as he put his shirt down and put his sleeve down as well. He also put his gloves back on. |

So it had seemed that even with her point about the rules having to be flexible that the committee head agreed with her. That was probably the worst part of the whole process in Serenity's opinion. Some people could live completely by the rules with no flexibility, they often ended up being tyrants and when something was ruled in tyranny it often lead to more chaos then being flexible with the rules. It was a hard balance to meet but one that had to be met none the less. Serenity listened to the powers of the others. The boy that had arrived with Heleth had introduced himself as a shadow manipulator, a creative power and one which could be applied very effectively. He also had with him a strange sword that he tried to poke Serenity with, a bit curious she let herself get poked by the blade. It didn't seem to cut, his explanation following the poke gave a good reasoning as to why it was the case. It seemed to only affect demonic beings that the boy considered hostile, this meant that non demons or demons that were being helpful were not hurt by it's blade. Like Serenity had assumed the other boy was a speedster, there were a few of them in Hyakuji from what she had heard. Overall speedsters were quite useful, they had the ability to quickly make their way around the place arriving ahead of other people. The boy seemed to go into quite the details about his abilities compared to the other boy. When they had both finished Serenity began to speak herself. "My powers rely on manipulating the energy leftover by the passage of time." She spoke sighing, the annoyance that came with explaining her powers was hammering it in that she wasn't able to freely manipulate time. Pulling out her pocket watch from inside her pocket she held it up. "This allows me to use the temporal energy in a variety of ways, unfortunately it doesn't give me complete control over time." Serenity explained before deciding to go into a little bit more detail. "I can for instance alter how time flows for me. Every second that reality experiences I get three seconds as an example, the energy has also shown some destructive potential if it is condensed into a ball and then fired off." Serenity explained, while she was sure there was probably even more ways that she could use it those where the ways that she had come up with thus far. The next point inquiring about weapons had Serenity silently curse that she didn't bring her gauntlets with her. It was unfortunate but not something that she could go back and change. "As for more physical methods of protecting myself, I have a pair of reinforced gauntlets which when combined with my skill give me ample protection." Serenity spoke, technically they weren't weapons anymore then her own hands were. |

"Hey!" Heleth objected when Shin drew his sword and used it on Serenity. What the hell! Do powered kids take everything like a joke? in all honesty she didn't appreciate his show off since his teleportation, but that of the sword was just overdoing it. "Boken or not, you can't draw it in school. It's forbidden." No nonsense. Not on duty. Unfortunately Heleth's mood was easy to thick off. At any rate, the girl took note of his powers, and of the glaring weaknesses he exposed in doing so. The demoness ignored his wink and his question about seeing those in action. He showed off already, and apparently she was the only one that could be seriously injured by his sword. Rakutsu then spoke, entering into detail, even mentioning nonsensical things like posts. In reality Heleth lost interest to all those numbers and notions pretty much when he mentioned puberty. 'I can run fast for one hour, have things I touch melt, and I can catch fire if I do it too much' could have been a way better explaination for a person to endure. She did, however, take note of his worst enemy: friction. During Rakutsu's long winded explainantion, Heleth found the time to think how hard could be fighting someone gifted with super speed. At the same time she mused about how easy it could be with proper planning. She grinned slightly. Then, Serenity's turn came. Did she tell her her surname yet? No, she didn't! Heleth listened to the explaination of her time based abilities. Uncommon, really. powers like hers could be incredibly handy, and incredibly powerful, should they develop more. "Well" Heleth stated "Okay. Your abilities can be valuable additions" The jade haired girl moved to the president's desk and took a three papers and handed them to the studends. "Here are the inscription modules to join the committee. Fill them up with your personal informations so that I can submit them to the administrative office. Don't be too excited though, you're just on trial for the upcoming month!" Edited by Sota, Jul 31 2014, 12:23 PM.

A gentle rap could be heard at the door, followed by the turn of the doorknob. Through the door entered Sakurayami, who quietly closed it behind her. "Pardon my intrusion. I see the meeting has already begun." The usually sullen girl moved towards the front of the room, her koto case rustling on her back. She was in a good mood today, and her expression, somewhere between a slight smile and completely blank, reflected her current disposition, although the more observant might notice a very faint blush. As she looked at the other students, she began to wonder what the school distribution for height looked like. She actually thought one of them was cute, if that was the correct word, a thought which made one part of her mind shudder. She tried to catch up the missing time by shortening her introduction. "I'm sorry, please allow me to make my introduction. Before you stands Sakurayami of the Kurushima clan. My ancestral branch is from Ooita Prefecture. Please regard me as your equal. I am here in hopes to join the Discipline Committee." |

Shin raised an eyebrow at Heleth's outburst. Hadn't she wanted a demonstration of his abilities? Suppressing a sigh and dismissing his sword, Shin took the application form from the demoness. At least he was making progress. Fishing a pen from his pocket, he began to fill out the form. While he was doing so he thought about the powers to others possessed. The only other male in the room had super-speed, but lacked the resistance to air friction. That was a useful tidbit that Shin filed away for later. With some planning or a surprise attack it wouldn't be that difficult to defeat the speedster. He spared a glance at Serenity, temporal manipulation is an extremely potent ability. She can speed herself up and fire off destructive blasts. However, unlike Shin she didn't carry a weapon with her at all times. In Shin's opinion that was very foolish. A simple shadow tendril in the eye before she could react would be enough to take her down. And for Heleth. Well, he could simply lop off her head on be done with it. Of course he wouldn't put any of his plans into action unless he felt that his fellow committee members were becoming a threat to innocents. His musing was interrupted by a gentle rap on the door. Turning around Shin watched as a female student identified herself as Sakurayami Kurushima. He recognised the family name. They were Koto players and crafters, if he remembered correctly. The case on her back only confirmed his suspicions. Giving the girl a wide smile Shin spoke out first "Well you've come to the right place Kurushima-san. Mastema-san can help you with that." He placed his finished application form on the desk. "Here's my form, Mastema-san, do you need me for anything else?" |

As he filled out his information sheet, he chooses to be completely honest with the questions on it. He wasn't completely honest about his powers though, he can set other people on fire by vibrating his molecules. He decided to leave that out for good reasons. As for the others students powers, he would have a hard time with shin, he wasn't to sure about serenity, and heleth he didn't know about so it can go any where in a fight. As he finished he heard a rap on the door and turned to see a girl standing by it. He heard her introduce herself and show interest in the committee. He placed is sheet on the table as it was done. " Here is mine Mastema, what did you mean by trail?" |

A smirk crossed Serenity's face, it seemed like there was no problems in regards to her powers or her ability to defend herself. She would be pretty surprised if there was, after all she assumed that she had more combat experience then the other potential members, granted the boy with the sword seemed like he was somewhat competent but it was hard to tell. Taking the paper Serenity began to fill out her information, an obvious sight would be the lack of a last name. She didn't have one or more correctly she didn't remember her name or her last name when she was younger. From what she had been told she responded to Serenity the most, a bit ironic considering her job but nonetheless she took it as a name. After filling the paper to the best of her ability Serenity waited until the others had done and handed back their paperwork before giving her own back as well. Taking note of the new arrival Serenity silently observed that she seemed like a strange one. The second note that came to her mind was how quickly people flocked to the disciplinary committee, she had done it because she was bored and she thought it would be something nice to do, the fact that most of the other people had some reason based on their principle baffled her. She refrained from speaking and placed her own sheet on the table. While her work here was done she decided that staying around for a while longer could prove fruitful, she had to try and observe what the new arrival was capable of if possible. |

"Oh I hope i'm not late" said a girl with redish pink hair in a ponytail and green eyes wearing the school uniform with a bamboo sword on her back, she knocked on the door politely before opening it and looking inside at the five people inside "Um hello, I would like to Join the committee if possible" she said looking around at everyone, as her attention came to the red skin girl behind the desk. "Allow me to properly introduce myself, I'm Renga Kishi, of the Kishi clan of mix-martial arts, I'm only a first year student, but I believe this committee would be a really good first club to join" she introduced herself with a bow of courtesy her black monkey tail wagging lightly back and forth behind her. The president of the renewed club turned her head to the door when a fourth person came into the committee room. Wow, fliers were an incredibly effective mean to deliver notices inside the school, she though. The girl barely finished to attach them through the school and they already attracted four potential candidates. Unless the school was simply filled with lots of people with nothing better to do. She excused for her intrusion, and blushed? Because she blushed, right? Sakurayami introduced herself, and professed her intention in joining the committee. Heleth was about to answer, but Shin spoke first, and handed her the compiled sheet, asking if he was still needed. "Not at the moment. You're free to go if you want" she answered him. Meanwhile, Rakutsu finished to compile his sheet as well and made his question. "It means exactly that. I and Vice President Shad we'll be keeping an eye on you during the following month. If you do not behave like the role models you're supposed to be you'll be out of the committee in no time. The club should maintain a certain level of prestige and reputation. I'll be biting your neck if you run through the hallways like you did from now on, got it?" Just as she ended her explaination, Serenity finished to compile the module as well, but didn't say anything else. "I'm Heleth Mastema, the Committee's Pres..." Much to her surprise, a fifth person just knocked on the door and entered. A fifth one? Heleth's words died down as her dual layered eyes stared at the latest newcomer. "Eeeuuhhh" the demon looked clearly surprised and confused. The thought that the situation was going out of her control (impossible! She always has everything under control, right!?) ran like a shiver through her spine. Assuming a suddenly serious face, the girl raised a finger and stated "Just a moment, please." She walked past the two girls that just arrived, and put her head out in the hallway, double checking to see if someone else was queued and waiting to join. The hallway was empty. With a composed gait, Heleth went back to the president's desk and took two more sheets. The demon stared at both of them and repeated a formula the others heard already: "I'm Heleth Mastema, Head Prefect of the Student Council and President of the renewed Discipline Committee. If you came here to join this club I assume you want to help maintain peace and regulations inside Hyakuji High. So, I have to ask you, what do rules represent for you?" Shin chuckled as Heleth became flustered as another person showed up. If the demoness was this easily bothered, then working with her was going to be quite entertaining. Letting out a relaxed sigh Shin plopped himself down onto the couch, his hands on his knees. He was curious about these two new arrivals. The newest one said she was from a clan that studied martial arts. "I wonder if she would be up for a light spar later?" He thought, taking both of their appearances in. Shins smile grew. So far the majority of the club were rather attractive females. Ooh he was going to enjoy this club so much. He remained silent, curious as to what rules meant to the newcomers. It was surprising as to what you could learn about someone from hearing their opinions on things. Granted Shin had lied when he spoke about codes of honour and laws. He would abandon all forms of laws and morality if it meant protecting the innocent. He only joined the committee mostly for the entertainment value. It was his job to protect the powerless innocents, not superpowered teenagers who would get into fights over petty disputes. Edited by Silverback, Aug 1 2014, 02:30 PM.

Renga looked over to Rakutsa, her room mate had witness him running in the hallway and since her room mate Meiakki and Rakutsa were friends she had yelled out to him and Renga over him talking about this club and how it was accepting new joiners, upon witnessing his rush, she had came straight here to join as well, grabbing a flier on the way to research the club before she made it. Her attention went to Heleth upon being asked the question. "They are protective mechanisms that protect the general public and keep chaos under control as a means of letting everyone co-exist peacefully without conflict mam, some can be silly, but most are meaningful and they all have a reason for being, they are a code of conduct that give balance to the events that take place in our lives and should be respected" answered Renga straightening her posture and giving Heleth full eye contract as she gave her answer on her beliefs about rules. She glanced at Shin and Rakutsa, then Serenity and Sakurayami as well before giving Heleth her full attention once more waiting for any further questions. Another latecomer entered the room, this one a member of a certain Kishi family specializing in a form of mixed martial arts. Sakurayami knew little about such a sport, although she seemed to recall an elderly client by the name of Kishi mentioning his cousin's practice a few weeks back. She noticed the silence of the other dark-haired girl and gave her a slight smile. She then saw the committee president check the hallways, perhaps for eavesdroppers or some such. Sakurayami hadn't considered that possibility and became slightly more unsettled. "...President Mastema, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Kishi-san, it is likewise a pleasure. Ah, I'm sorry, I should rather ask how you all wish to be referred as. I understand that some people have different preferences." Like those with egoism or an inferiority complex, but Sakurayami was certain that much was common sense. She knew that there were certain people who would call her "eccentric", and she wanted them to perceive her as a simple cynic, so she thought she might as well give them what they were expecting. "Rules exist to make the public believe that a structured system is in place, even though the common person might only use the stigmas resulting from the expectations of these rules. A stable society requires rules that most people consider reasonable or just in order to operate. Although if it is possible for rules to be too reasonable or too just, then I suppose those who are extremist or immoral will feel alienated from that society and ignore said rules. That is exactly why rules inevitably reflect the values of society, and therefore any efforts to make rules stricter or laxer must begin with the shaping of people's minds." She wasn't sure how much she actually agreed with what she was saying, but it seemed more or less reasonable. She tried to hold back her laughter at how absurd yet realistic it all was. She didn't want them to think she was hysterical, as that might have jeopardized her chances at being accepted. However, a small chuckle did emerge eventually after about ten seconds of silence. "Sorry everybody, I apologize, that was just a little joke. No, I do believe that the enforcement of rules is vital in creating a working society, and it is for this reason that I feel obligated to join this committee. You shall have my word that I have a favorable stance on peacefully ensuring good conduct as I am able." She bowed slightly and set her koto case on a nearby desk. |
