"I honestly have to question why I'm doing her job for her." A grumbling complaining voice could be heard in the darkness. "Sure she has 'things she has to do' but come on, so do I." The voice continued, looking out from behind a tree Gaius surveyed the dark area. Serenity had thrown a job at home and given him no room for argument, normally Gaius would be more then willing to help with any jobs that he could assist with but when the job was one that required waiting until after midnight to go about it. That was a job that he wasn't really interested in. Regardless he had already arrived and was waiting for his mark, he had heard that his target was a power user. That at least would make the hunt interesting, from what he had heard he seemed to have some level of control over the momentum of objects. Of course the prey was stupid enough that he didn't decide to move from his starting area, that made it easier to lay in wait and ambush him. Watching the area of various people making their way back and forth towards their destinations Gaius yawned again, the night breeze was a good temperature at least. It wasn't to cold and it wasn't to hot, it was quite suitable for a mission. Eventually he noticed someone unusual moving towards an individual, following slowly behind the target he waited behind a tree. "Alright, let's see how he goes about it then." Sticking his head out from behind the tree he watched as the target moved past the individual, soon after the valuable removed themselves from the victim's pockets. "Seems the reports were true, I wonder if that is effective in combat scenarios." Gaius thought to himself, he continued to follow the culprit who was displaying the stolen goods as well as his own cockiness. The fact that he hadn't already caught onto his tail suprised even Gaius, even though they weren't going through a mission he was at least expecting some caution but his target had none of it. He'd continue stalking him for a bit waiting until he found the correct time to act. |

C'mon Kine, you should be in bed at this hour." Sora called up to his feline friend who was currently gliding above the trees with a content smile on his face. "Soooorrrraaaa, just gimme ten more minutes." The kitten whined. Sora let out a sigh, not sure why he put up with the pesky Exceed. "You get five." He called back. "Then you're going straight to bed." The young Dragon Slayer put his hands behind his neck and kept a watchful eye on his cat. Not noticing a stranger who passed him by, or his wallet and phone floating out of his pocket. Thankfully his faithful companion did notice it. Kine looked down at the individual who stole Sora's belongings. For a moment he simply stared at him watching him use his powers to rob his friend. Shaking his head the Exceed cried. "SORA!" He pointed at the culprit. "THAT GUY'S STEALING YOUR STUFF, GO BEAT HIM UP!" "Eh?" The auburn-haired man looked to where his cat pointed and sure enough there was someone walking away, inspecting Sora's property. "Hey!" He shouted, running after to other man. "Gimme back my stuff!" |

"Damn." The thief turned around noticing that he had been caught, his overconfidence had gotten him discovered but it was still alright. He could easily get away from his pursuer, after all he could repel him if that was all that there was to it. He'd just have to reverse his powers and push his pursuer away then make a break for it, holding his hands towards the boy he sent out a wave of force that would attempt to push Sora back. He turned around to make a break for it. *Thump* "Hey now, didn't anyone ever tell you to watch your surroundings." Gaius smirked watching the unconscious victim fall to the ground. Standing with a gauntlet of earth covering one of his hands Gaius had made his move in the distraction provided to him. With the thief's powers fading due to unconsciousness Gaius held his hand out to catch the floating items that the thief had stolen watching them fall into his hand. Even though these weren't his own items he was woefully bored at how little a fight the thief had put up, if he held onto this he could easily end up having a bit of fun. "Even an extra reward for capturing you." Gaius smirked slyly, this would hopefully get the victim to go after him to recover his belongings, it had been a while since he had fought against someone strong. "Not going to say it isn't a good haul though." His eyes glanced over to the victim of the robbery, he was on guard to defend himself if he was to be attacked. It was kind of what he was hoping for really. |

There was a grin on Sora's face. He had leapt forward, prepared to land a punch on the other man's face. He was interrupted when he was struck by a wall of force that sent him falling back. Using the momentum of his fall the Dragon Slayer rolled backwards onto his feet. Having not seen Gaius take down his thief and not getting a clear look at the thief's face due to the darkness. The Dragon Slayer only saw a tall platinum-haired young man facing him wielding a stone gauntlet and holding Sora's phone and wallet. Not hearing Gaius remark that he had captured the thief. Sora only heard Gaius claim that he had a good haul. "Sorry but that's my stuff you got there. So I'm going to have to kick your ass and take it back." Sora smirked, smashing both of his fists together and invoked the first spell his father taught him; Claw of the White Dragon. His fists were surrounded by spheres of light, the skin up to his elbows becoming covered in patches of skin coloured scales. Sora grinned, showing off unusually long canines as he charged towards Gaius, leaping forward aiming a fist at the terramancer's chest. |

It seemed like the boy had fallen hook, line and sinker. He was rushing forward to attack Gaius rather recklessly if he had to say. Quickly glancing over the boy's arms it seemed like they were covered in scales, past his elbows however it was normal skin. If anything it meant that it was likely that his arms were for the most part more durable during the spells ability, Gaius took note to adjust his tactics accordingly. "Don't you think your being a tad reckless there." Gaius commented as he jumped back out of range of the boy's ability. An attack that was as openly broadcast as that was easy to avoid, due to all the training he had done Gaius had learned what attacks to take and what to dodge out of the way easily. "You should really be minding your surroundings." Holding his hands up Gaius began to manipulate the earth. Sora would find the ground around him turning into soft mud and becoming extremely hard to walk on, following this several rocks would fly towards Sora in an attempt to hit him. Gaius wasn't about to go all out and risk permanently damaging the boy but having a bit of fun wasn't out of the question. |

Even though Gaius managed to avoid the initial attack Sora wasn't disheartened. In fact he was elated, his first punch was to merely test the waters with his new foe. This was his first major fight since he got here, and his opponent knew what he was doing. His smile widening, Sora used the momentum of his leaping attack to his advantage. As soon as he hit the ground he deactivated his White Dragon's Claw hoping to conserve energy. And used the slippery earth to his advantage. Rolling forward, he shifted his weight until he was sliding along the muddy earth towards Gaius. He couldn't help but laugh out loud when he was advised to be mindful of his environment. He only needed to focus on his opponent. Because unlike most people, Sora had eyes in the sky. "Sora!" the aforementioned eyes in the sky called down. "He's shooting rocks! I thinks he's a terramancer! "A terramancer?" Sora thought. "Not a problem." Noticing the incoming rocks, Sora rolled to the side, now off the muddy earth, in order to dodge the ranged assault. Rolling to his feet, Sora faced down Gaius. "You're going to have to do better than some pebbles." He taunted. "My Dad had me smashing boulders since I was eight!" Deciding on a different tactic. Sora decided to fight ranged with ranged. Gathering his magical power, he fired off his signature move; Roar of the White Dragon straight at Gaius. The bright beam illuminating the darkness of the woods as it tore through the ground in an attempt to strike the terramancer. Edited by Silverback, Jul 25 2014, 08:19 PM.

"Then why didn't you smash those rocks." Gaius playfully replied noting the incoming magical blast flying towards him. It seemed a lot stronger then the previous ability the boy had displayed, this seemed more like a concentration of energy and to deal with that it would be easiest to block it. Thinking quickly Gaius raised up a large amount of earth in front of him to nullify the blast, unfortunately the concussive force of the blast knocked him back a bit. It wasn't anything that he couldn't take and walk off but at least he knew how much power his opponent had roughly. "Oh, that's good. That's very good." Gaius said as he stood back up. "Well, I guess if you can take care of rocks I have to step it up myself." His smile widened, two large war-hammers made out of earth made themselves out of the ruins of the wall that he had made as well as his gauntlet. They flew towards Sora aiming to crash into him with a large amount of concussive force, if Sora tried to break them he would find it unusually hard, Gaius had inserted iron into the structure of the hammers making them harder then normal stone. |

Sora smile grew until it threatened to split his face, as the hammers flew towards him. He was having the time of his life here. He twisted out of the way of the first hammer, but was too slow to dodge the second one. It crashed into his chest, driving the air out of his lungs and launching him backwards. His flight was stopped after he collided with a nearby tree. He was still concious, but he would be sporting some impressive bruises on his back and chest in the morning. He lay there against the tree for a few seconds. If one listened closely they could hear a soft chuckle, that chuckle soon grew into a delighted uproarious laughter. Sora jumped to his feet still laughing, but now clapping his hands in congratulations. "Thanks for this." He called over to Gaius. "I haven't had a good fight in a while and I just wanted to properly thank you." His hair began to ruffle as is it was in a strong wind. "I think its time we stopped playing around." He crouched down, arcs of white lightning jumping off his body as his excitement caused his magical aura to flare up. "Its time to end this." His aura exploded as the sheer intensity of his will and power caused the area around him to light up. Slamming his fists together, he once again called upon his favourite spell. But it didn't just envelope his hands in a glowing aura, his feet were similarly empowered. Charging forward at top speed, Sora kicked off the remaining ruins of the wall Gaius created. Aiming a devastating spin kick at the terramancer's head. Edited by Silverback, Jul 26 2014, 12:38 PM.

His tactic worked, whilst one attack was easy to avoid if you threw multiple at an opponent then they had a smaller gap of opportunity to prepare themselves to dodge it. Watching his opponent fly into a nearby tree Gaius had to wonder if he had overdone it a small bit, thankfully his opponent stood right back up still smiling and thanking him for the fight. A smile crossed his own face. "You are welcome, it's not often that I get to test my own abilities this much." Most of the time when he was training people he was forced to hold back, thankfully this opponent seemed to be able to take his blows. "I have to agree with you there, I'd say it's time to end this." Gaius spoke adjusting himself, his two hammers flew back towards his hands, the material that they were made out of began to shift eventually floating around him waiting for his command. It was unfortunate that the his opponent had to fight someone with his powers. Watching the boy charge towards him at incredibly speed he noted the movements the boy was making. Moments before his opponent's kick could reach him the fragments around him moved to intercept the kick. The rocks began to buckle under the attack even as more and more earth from around Gaius floated up to reinforce it, noting that there was still a large chance that the attack could get through Gaius shattered the earthen shield with enough force to hopefully push his opponent back, if not the push that he would recieve would be enough to disengage him to a safe distance. Panting from fatigue Gaius stood up and straightened himself up. It had been a while since someone had managed to push him so far, sporting scratches and bruises from the fight a smile crossed his face. "Very impressive." He spoke, the kid definetly had potential he just needed to hone it. Fishing the surprisingly undamaged wallet and phone out of his pocket he held them out. "You gave me a good fight, here." He was pretty sure that the boy wouldn't want to continue fighting after that but he was still prepared if he did. |

Sora's grin turned into what could be described as 'shit-eating' when he felt the earthen shield buckle under his kick. His grin remained even after the shield shattered and Sora was sent flying back. His opponent's resistance only proved his hypothosis. This guy was indeed a worthy opponent. Win or lose, Sora would definitely be fighting this guy again. Letting the force of the shield's shattering knock him back. Sora used the momentum to roll backwards onto his feet. The first thing Weisslogia thought him about combat was how to fall properly without injuring yourself. He was about to launch another attack on the boy, but paused when he saw the offered items. "Ohh thanks." He said. But before he could take the items they were snatched from Gaius's hand by a red blur known as Kine. The red cat blew Gaius a raspberry and fluttered down onto Sora's shoulder. He then began glaring daggers into the terramancer's head. Sora's listened to Gaius thanking him for the fight. "Well if you just wanted a fight there was no need to steal my stuff. you just needed to ask." He walked towards Gaius while extending his hand. "Name's Sora by the way. Uhhh no last name." |

It seemed like the boy wasn't that badly affected by his tactic, Gaius was a bit surprised. He definetly seemed to have the potential to become a strong fighter, he even had a bit of training to go with it. Ultimately however it had seem their fight had concluded for now at least, it was probably for the best if he went any further all out he would be starting to rip out giant chucks of earth and could've potentially left the park in a very bad way. Along with his catch, having a glanced over he noticed that his initial catch was still alive and well everything on that end was good. Watching the small red flying cat snatch the boy's possessions from him and flying back over to his opponent Gaius couldn't help but laugh. The creature whilst unusual wasn't anything totally out of understanding, it's immature behavior definetly entertained him. It had seemed that he had managed to annoy his opponent's companion quite a bit, then again that was understandable considering that he had just fought him after claiming his possessions as his own. "No problem." Gaius spoke as he smiled, when his opponent pointed out that there wasn't a reason to steal his stuff to get him to fight Gaius nodded a few times before speaking. "True, but if I wanted to get you to fight fully I had to give you something to fight for." He pointed out, just having a friendly spar often meant people holding back, in those circumstances it was understandable but it was also pretty boring. Gaius often wanted people to showcase their full strength so that he could compare it to his own. "That way you wouldn't hold anything back." He smiled, shrugging his shoulders as if he had done nothing unusual in the situation. Hearing the boy's name he found it hard to ignore the coincidence. The sky had clashed with the earth, he definetly felt like he would be interacting with the boy before him in the future. "Pleasure to meet you Sora, my name is Gauis Harper." The boy spoke before he made a small sarcastic bow. He walked over to the unconscious person and started glancing over him, it seemed like nothing was broken at all. Gaius had to wonder if that was partially due to his powers or if it was due to luck, either way it was good for him. "Sorry about using you as bait." Gaius spoke off handedly while he inspected his prize, Serenity had better get ready to split that pay check when he finished the job. Looking over towards Sora he smiled. "He probably would've been able to get away if I just approached him, tricky bastard with powers like that." He acted as if him 'catching' this thief was a completely normal thing with no problems. |

Sora nodded along with the other youth. He understood the desire to fight strong opponents. "Eh? I was bait?" Sora frowned, casting his eyes around the area. He spotted the prone thief. "Oooh" He realised that the person unconscious was the one responsible for his stolen possessions. "Meh that's fine." The auburn-haired youth stated flippantly. Not really caring that he was used as bait. He walked over to the thief and nudged the unconscious body with his foot. "Why were you after him anyway? You just a good Samaritan or did he steal from you?" |

Listening to the boy questioning what he wanted with the unconscious thief Gauis chuckled. "It's not as much what I want with him as what my organization does." He spoke, he similar to Serenity had no problem giving out information regarding The Court, after all organization was publicity. The more people that knew about them the more likely they were to hire The Court at some point when something got to big for them to handle. "This isn't actually my job technically though." Gaius spoke with a tinge of irritation in his voice, of course the smile on his face was still present. "This was technically the job of one of the other members, guess it was just fate that made us meet then." He jokingly laughed. Overall the job wasn't a complete waste of his time, he met someone that he'd be keeping an eye on. It wasn't often that he ran into someone with as much raw potential as the boy before him, obviously he had his hands full completing his own mission but he was curious as to how Sora would end up staying in Hyakuji. "Free word of warning." Gaius spoke as he stood back up, apparently satisfied with his prey. "Try to hold back on the recklessness a bit, there are opponents around here a lot stronger then either of us." He had taken note of some of the strong people that lived in Hyakuji and it was easy to say that there was a reasonable number of people who would easily decimate him in a fight. "I'd suggest you listen to it." Gaius spoke for a moment before chuckling. "Or don't, either way I'm sure you'll find out." |

Sora frowned. "You're kinda a hypocrite." He said pointing a finger a Gaius. "You call me reckless, but you just lured me into a fight cause you were bored." He shook his head. "I could have been one of the monstrously powerful fighters you were talking about." He tilted his head to the side. "Or I could have been some psycho who wouldn't stop attacking you even after I got my stuff back." It was then that the red cat on Sora's shoulder gave up on his attempt to make Gaius's head explode with his mind. The crimson kitten let out a weary yawn and climbed up onto Sora's head. It was there he soon found himself drifting off to sleep. Sora chuckled at his cats antics. "Well then, I best be off. It was nice talking to you Gaius. I'll see you later." Without another word the Dragon Slayer turned on his heel and made his way out of the park. Pausing for a moment Sora called back to his new friend. "Give me a call if you get any more interesting jobs that you need some muscle for. You'll find me around the Yuki dorm." Edited by Silverback, Jul 28 2014, 11:45 AM.

When the boy pointed out his own hypocrisy Gaius chuckled, he never said that he wasn't a hypocrite. It was true that he went out of his way to have fun fights with people cause of boredom but it didn't stop the advice from being true. "It's still honest advice, even if I choose to ignore it." It seemed like Sora's little companion had begun to doze off, thinking about it the time was extremely late, he'd have to head back to the dorms soon as well. "Nice talking to you as well, see you around Sora." He bid farewell to the dragon slayer, watching him walk away into the darkness. It seemed like he was definetly an interesting person, Gaius would have to make a not about him for later. When Sora had disappeared completely Gaius turned back to the unconscious thief. "Well my friend, it's unfortunate that you got caught." He manipulated the earth around the thief binding him. While the situation was pretty questionable for anyone who would come across him, it was easier this way. He didn't want the thief using his powers to escape. "Time to go and hand you over." He began to move the earth around the boy, this prevented him from having to carry him around. Walking away Gaius smiled, it had seemed that he had made a fun acquaintance today, it ended up being sent out on the job was worth it. Who would've guessed. |
