Loretta was looking around the school this fine day, trying to learn the layout of the campus, and maybe meet someone normal. But it was incredibly unlikely. So far, she had yet to meet any normal people.

So far she had explored the space between the front gate and her dorm room, for all it was worth. She planned on going to the run down area behind the school eventually. She just needed to build up her nerve, and wait for a good moment.

But regardless, currently she was relaxing on a bench in front of the dorm buildings. This was the best position to people watch and see if she could find a person of no-interest.

Today had been nothing but trouble for Narku, he'd been late getting out his dorm, he had lost his bookbag, and he had a particularly harsh time trying to find out what to wear to school that day. Rubbing the back of his neck, he felt a sense of relief wash over himself as he sat down on a bench to catch his breath. Being able to watch everyone file out of the dorms would be his time to rest, especially considering that he had gotten up a bit earlier than everyone else.

It was nice to have such inhuman looks, that normally meant most people didn't care what he wore. His blue tie laid loose on his neck, the sleeves of his brown sweater were pulled up to his forearms, along with the sleeves of the white dress shirt underneath, and his black pants were for the most part pressed.

He let out a sigh. Yea, it was only the beginning and he could already feel his day was going to be long. Leaning back, he looked over at Soule; who was sitting on his haunches with a rather dull expression on his lion face. Narku pulled his lips into a rather mischievous smirk. "What's the matter buddy, don't like being rushed out?"

A disapproving grunt left the lynx-sized lion as he shrugged his muscled shoulders, although, Narku could tell through the bond they shared that he was a bit agitated.

The bangs of his hair rested over his thin brows and fell in wild strands around his face, making himself seem a bit more boyish than what he was. He stretched his arms up into the air before letting them fall on the spine of the bench. When he went to pull them back into himself, he felt his arm touch something smooth but somewhat ticklish.

His brows crinkled together in confusion.

Wait. . . He looked over to his other side. To his surprise his arm was wrapped around a girl's neck as if to embrace her in one of those corny moves. He simply stared at her, his golden slits wide with surprise and embarrassment. ". . . So-Sorry." He uttered, his arm basically frozen from the shock that someone had been beside him the entire time. His cat ears stood straight up, a animal reaction to his human emotions, and his cheek grew red.

As Loretta lounged about, she spotted many people wandering to and fro, but nobody noticing her, and if they did, nobody talking to her. This was fine with Loretta though, because none of them looked normal. Until she saw one man emerging from the dorms. She stared at him from a distance, giving him a good look over.

At first, Loretta thought he looked normal, even handsome! But as she saw him more clearly through the warm heat haze of the day, she noticed it was not tall spiky hair, the top of his head was adorned with cat ears. And not that those were called to attention, she also noticed the tail swinging lazily behind him. Loretta sighed softly, not even realizing she was holding her breath. She looked back up and realized he was walking straight towards her.

There was a brief moment of panic in Loretta. She couldn't help but wonder if she saw her staring? Was he upset about it? She watched as he drew closer and closer and.... sat on the bench right next to her, not even noticing Loretta herself. For a moment, she looked at him confused. Loretta did notice he looked very tired. And the way he talked seemed kinda slow too. Maybe he was just having a bad day?

Before Loretta could ponder this through, or even wonder who he was talking to, he put his arms on the back of the bench, and then into himself, pulling her with them. In a moment, she was lightly pulled towards him, craned around the neck like a lover.

". . . So-Sorry." She heard him mutter.

Loretta laughed a bit, ducking under his arm so she was no longer held. "It's no problem. Really. You seemed a little tired. You were talking to yourself and didn't even notice that I was sitting on the bench here too." she said with a factual nod. "What's your name?" she asked.

Narku's eyes were stunned for a moment, all he could do was just look at her face. She had hair of oak and eyes that resembled jewels, her face wasn't anything spectacular to look at but their was wild aspect to her brows that was just prodding at him. He couldn't really point it out but their was definitely something untamed circling around her.

The girl slid underneath his arm and with a laughter started rambling about something. She was going a bit fast, so it all seemed jumbled up. His ears twitched a little as he clutched the edge of the bench between his legs, maybe she'll start making sense once he shook the embarrassment off.

He could hear Soule's amused grunt's beside him but decided it best to not respond. He was too close to someone to actually try and communicate with him.

Embarrassed and still a bit confused, Narku waved off her words with several crude waves of his hand. "Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh," He stammered quickly, finally turning to look her in the eyes, his cheeks still crimson red. "Its okay. I blame myself for the mishap, I should had been- " He said a bit calmer.

It was then that a unique aroma wafted across his nose, causing his expression to become a bit dazed. It was unlike any scent he had come across before, but it definitely smelled. . .well it smelled natural. Leaning towards her neck just a bit, Narku took two gentle whiffs of her hair.

Loretta's laugh at the situation was definitely a nervous one. Not only was she in close proximity to another odd person, but he was handsome and touching her. It's not that it wasn't something nice, it was just very unexpected. But it made it weird still that all he did for a while was just stare at her in bewilderment.

Soon enough, the arm was removed from her and he was now clenched to the seat. Loretta half smiled, still out of nerves. She leaned away from his as he waved his hands wildly between them. Even through his blabbering and stuttering, he still didn't manage to sputter out his own name, not to mention the sudden halt to his speech.

Loretta looked him up and down for a moment before speaking. "Uh, yes..... Well my name is Loretta, my friends sometimes ca......." she was cut off. Midway through her sentence he leaned in and smelled her.

At first she sat there, her eyes a little wide, mouth left agape. She sat there for a good ten seconds before a hard caught breath snapped her into coherence. "D-did you smell me?"

Narku leaned back away from her, a boyish innocence on his face as he nodded slowly to her question. "Yea," He told her softly. "You smell really good for some reason," He admitted, his hands clenching the edge of the bench even more. It was like a mixture of all his favorite scents, plus a mystery flavor that really through it all over the top.

He had to admit that some humans smell especially delightful sometimes, but never had he encountered someone like her. He wiggled his nose a bit, his ears standing straight up, and his tails wrapping around his waist.

Wait!

What was he doing? It wasn't normal for a human to do any of these things, he needed to get everything back in perspective. He wrenched himself from the magnetic scent that consumed the girl. Honestly, she smelled like some grand dinner for some reason. "S-Sorry about that," He told her hastily, keeping his face turning towards the opposite direction.

For a long while, Narku was content with simply keeping himself glued to the bench. He had said sorry for sniffing her, so everything was okay right? Did he need to make conversation so she wouldn't feel awkward herself. It seemed like she was already feeling a bit unpleasant from the accident earlier too. He allowed himself a glance towards her, just to see how she was doing.

"You said your name was Loretta right? I-I-I'm Narku Uramura, a first year." He attempted to keep his eyes from meeting hers, she probably didn't want to see the face of the creep that just smelled her.

Loretta half smiled and slowly nodded, listening to the way he talked. She thought the way he was speaking sounded like his head was in the sky and he was off in a sublime dreamland. Definitely an odd reaction to smelling someone. Not that smelling someone wasn't already odd enough.

"Uh, yeah... I guess?" she said through the awkwardness. She did think it was a little cute, the way his ears were up and tail curled up. But didn't make it any less strange. But he shook his head, seemingly shaking out of his lapse in concentration.

Loretta shook her head at him. "No no, its.... okay I guess." she said, still a little weirded out by the smelling. And then was a long period of silence. A long, pregnant, awkward pause in the conversation that could no way be called natural. Dear goodness, could this go on any longer. Yes, yes it could. It was still going. How much longer?! Oh, he is looking at her.....

Finally, as she looked up at him, their eyes glancing each other, he was speaking. "Loretta, that is correct. I have yet to catch your name, but you have yet to drop it." she said smartly.

They're eyes had met, and he guessed through his stammering that she hadn't heard his name. His full lips pursed as he looked at her, still debating on whether or not he could withstand the aroma that was drifting off of her. He had to admit that she was something more than average now. She suddenly looked a little more attractive to him.

He was about to answer her when he spotted a silvery gleam speeding towards the back of her head. Her eyes had been on him, so it wasn't like he could expect her to catch it or anything. His hand shot pass her face just in time to grab the. . . the soda can?

Either way, he still had yet to answer her question. With his face no more than few inches from her own, Narku stared warmly at her. "I said its Uramura. Narku Uramura," He told her quietly.

"Hey, sorry about that." A youth yelled from down the path. "I was trying to shoot it into the thrash basket."

Narku shot the guy a glare from his seat at the bench. It was always the inconsiderate that hurt people the most.

The guy seemed taken aback, startled almost before walking off with his friends. Narku could hear them muttering as they left.

"Yea, I think their a couple or something."

"Still though, the guy didn't have to look at me like that..."

Narku pulled himself back from the close proximity that he had shared with Loretta. For a moment, he had been oblivious that the can had remained clutched in his hand. "You okay, Loretta? I don't think that jerk was paying enough attention. He could have really hurt someone," He told her as brought his index finger up to scratch his cheek.

Loretta sat a moment, wondering if he would answered. She slowly raised an eyebrow before something clicked in her mind. Oh crud, did he already say his name? I swear he said his name. And I can't remember. Drat. Or maybe he didn't say it? Thoughts reeled as Narku suddenly looked slightly to the side of her.

Loretta yelped and jumped as his hand shot past her and his face became only a breath away. She was holding her breath in fact, eyes wide with surprise. She blinked slowly in bewilderment unable to react.

"I said its Uramura. Narku Uramura," He told her quietly.

Loretta slowly nodded, strands of hair slipping in front of her face and brushing his nose. She was at a lost for words and the only thing that slipped out was. "Oh. Yeah. Nice to meet you." Loretta was not fazed from the glare, still trying to get herself together. She leaned back, away from him slightly, and he soon leaned back as well.

God, she felt dumb all of a sudden. Her mouth felt like lead and her head underwater. She blinked a few times, hard, to get life back in perspective. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine. Yeah, a little careless." she said, smiling a bit as he stroked her cheek, a small blush setting in.

He sat there quietly for a moment. His thoughts straying to that intoxicating scent again, but also, now he could see just attractive the girl was. It wasn't the traditional kind of attractive though, in that department she was quite average; he could admit that. But their was something exotic, something rare about her that he couldn't quite place.

Was this what they called an awkward silence? It had to be, so many things had happened already and they were mostly very intimate things. So, maybe she was feeling a bit embarrassed or... perhaps flustered. If she was flustered, than that would explain why her heart seemed to beat a bit quicker.

By this time, he could feel Soule rising up onto his paws. He peeked pass Narku's knees and looked the girl over, he too could smell the enthralling scent drifting off of her. Though the two of them wasn't sure whether it was because of their bond or if it was just naturally there.

Narku smirked, amused by Soule's curious and confused emotions on Loretta. The big-cat was right, Loretta definitely warranted some investigating. It shouldn't be that a human held such an effect on a Felician. Sometimes it seemed that the Lion held more knowledge than he did, although he always claimed it to be instinctual.

Finding his thoughts straying back towards Loretta, wanting to know just a bit more about her, Narku abruptly turned his wide-eyes on her. "U-Um," He stammered, stumbling for something new to ask her. "Why are you at this school? you seem normal enough."

Loretta sat there. Still. And In complete and utter silence. It was taking forever. This may have been the longest and most awkward silence ever. It just kept dragging. But, the dragging did offer Loretta time to think and observe. Her eyes strayed over him a bit, taking him in fully, at a closer light.

Loretta nodded a bit, happy he broke the long silence. "Yes. Well, uh, I am normal. Not a singel power or ability to me. Literally nothing special." she said with a small gesture to herself. "But my dad, insisted on me getting transferred here. It was his dying wish. As if he hoped I really was unique or something." she said, a little wistfully and now lost slightly in thought or memories.

Loretta snapped back to him and finally saw the small lion ghost. And was totally freaked out. Her eyes went wide and she slowly pushed herself back before exclaiming. "GEE FEISTIES, WHAT IS THAT?!"

Narku let out a pondering hum after she had explained her father's wishes. It kept his eyes softly glued on her, he knew that at times he could appear savage, he tried his best to keep his stare warm and attentive. "...Your dad... sent you to a school of monsters and superhuman beings?" He asked her with disbelief. "That sounds almost too crazy."

A small but strong breeze passed through, sending his hair and tie fluttering in Loretta's direction. Narku instinctively gripped the tie, he knew it was a bit long, as he turned his eyes on Soule. The lion had been sending a sneaking suspicion through the bond, he was feeling uneasy.

Just as the feeling had shivered into him, Loretta had startled him by backing away and exclaiming something he didn't quite get. He backed away too, his brow raising as he looked at her.

I think she can see me... Soule said calmly, his regal voice touching his mind for the first in a very long time.

Really...? No way, no ones ever been able to see you...

Indeed. Go along with it for now, perhaps she is like you. That would explain this desirable scent drifting off of her.

Narku's eyes widen a bit, an insanely handsome smile blessing his boyish features as he tender, yet enthusiastically, gripped her hands in his. "Can you see him!? can you really see him?" He asked her, his golden eyes drilling into her own.

Loretta sighed and nodded, agreeing a with him. "Yeah no kidding. Me and mom also thought it was absolutely nutty. We are not sure why he wished it or his reasoning behind it. Frankly, we never got to ask. So even till now, it is an utmost mystery why I go to this school." she said with a shrug. She wondered to herself again why she needed to be here, but the thought crossed her mind daily and was waved away shortly.

Currently, Loretta was immune to any charm or beauty. She was a little freaked out. Which she should have been used to, going to a school like this, But still, a weird little lion thing peaking from around a boy you were just talking to was still just a little too weird for standard, day to day activities. So the confused and a little frightened actions continued.

Loretta nodded, pointing at it but still leaned back and away, trying her best to be further from it. "Yes. That thing there! The clear cat! What is it?! Was it there the whole time? Did you know it was there?! Is he your pet or something?!" she sputtered on.

Narku smiled, the thought of finding some else like himself filling him with joy. She was certainly a bit too average, and sure she didn't seem to have a place where she fit in, but nonetheless, she could see Soule. That made her special.

Sensing her fear, Narku eased back on his excitement and scooted over to the corner. He could feel his heartbeat still racing, forcing red to his cheeks. Crap, I got to excited and now she's afraid of me. he thought to himself.

You pounced on her like cub on a lizard, Seoul commented, his ethereal form pawing to the front of his legs. Relax and think, ask her if she knows anything about her heritage. Any thing at all.

Narku nodded at the lion before turning his resolved eyes on the girl. "Loretta, Seoul wants to know if you can recall anything about your heritage. Any fragments or hidden memories... I sometimes get flashes of foreign images. Do you?"

Loretta was still looking at him nervously. He looked happy right now, almost giddy, and it was weirding her out. It also seemed like he bypassed all of her questions to ask his own. But, it seemed like she still might get some answers, just in a different format. So for now, she would roll with it and see where it lead. "Er, Seoul? Is that it's name?"

Loretta pondered briefly. She recollected her life, categorizing it, trying to find anything that was off. She gave a small shake of her head upon recalling nothing of interest. "No, nothing at all. Like I said, completely normal. Nothing special about me or my family. Never saw nothing either. Out of the ordinary at least."
