Akiko was reading a rather old, dusty and large tome she had found behind one of the book shelves. The title had faded and all that was visible was 'HI_H _E_O___CY' but the writing was fine and seemed like it was just written. As she read she found a title labeled 'Healing Orchestra'. This caught her attention and she read on, the theory behind this apparent Aeromancy Technique was complicated and the way it had to be used was seemed extremely advanced even for her or even Lavender. She was so intrigued though that she wanted to try it. But she had called Lavender to show her the progress in Aeromancy and hoped to make her teacher proud of her progress. She set up a practice dummy and nodded to herself when she got it sitting upright. She hummed and tied her hair back and let out a yawn, she had been in the tower most of the day reading this book and she was getting a bit tired. Hopefully she wouldn't be too long and she could possibly learn more from her teacher to improve her skills further. |

And with a soft creak, the door to the room slowly opened. Could Lavender have arrived, just as Akiko had anticipated? However, if the young aeromancer were to look at the doors, she would instead find no one - the doors swung open, revealing an empty doorway before slowing swinging back into their closed position. Meanwhile, Lavender stifled a giggle as she remained cloaked under her "Invisible Air" adaptive camouflage, the field of heated air creating an optical illusion of invisibility by using refraction to divert incoming light rays away from her form. The older aeromancer would wait for Akiko to turn her attention back towards her book before making her move slowly towards the younger aeromancer... And if she were to try and steal a glance in Lavender's direction, she might just notice a rippling, shimmering human-shaped outline creeping towards her, a transparent silhouette that gives the feeling of looking through a glass sculpture, where everything on the other side appeared distorted. |

As the door opened she looked over and blinked looking out then wandering over to the door looking out and around before humming to herself and closing the door behind her and walking back into the room. She looked around seeing the shimmer but not really noticing it, Akiko wandered back to the book examining the page again and sighed closing it and placing it on the bookshelf so she could find it again. She really looked tired now and she sat down again deciding to rest her head on the table for a while...only a while. He stared at the table a brief moment before dozing off, still not having any idea Lavender was there. If Lavender had stepped closer though the sneaky floor board would quickly wake Akiko and cause her to stand and spin around to see who was there. |

"Come on, Akiko-chan, if you've been practicing aeromancy under me you really shouldn't have this much difficulty locating me..." Lavender thought as she stood still the moment the younger aeromancer looked in her direction; though she wondered if the girl might've already notice the shimmer given off by her outline. And as Akiko looked away, Lavender could only surmise that either the girl didn't notice the camouflaged aeromancer, or that she dismissed the shimmer as her eyes playing tricks on her. And then there was an audible creaking noise as Lavender stepped on a section of the floorboards that looked like it could use some maintenance, possibly loud enough for Akiko to hear. "Oops," the older aeromancer remarked, and even though she was still cloaked, if Akiko didn't hear the creaking floorboards then she'd most likely hear Lavender's voice coming from the direction in which she was looking! Oops was right as Akiko quickly looked in the direction of the noise and saw the outline and thought Lavender was a bit of a trickster but not always the best sneaker. She chuckled and reached out to poke her mentor smiling. "Konichiwa Lavender-sensei" she knew it was her, the voice was unmistakable to Akiko at least. When Lavender finally showed her self Akiko smiled and stood and wandered over to the dummy facing it. "So I started studying pressure and I found out I could do this!". Eager to show her new powers over Aeromancy she began to focus air to one point, creating pressure as the air swirled around her finger as she held it up and the pressure became too much for the static and it was unleashed as a bolt of lightning from her finger. The bolt burnt into the dummy she had set up and the force of the impact knocking it over as its torso had become a gaping hole of burnt wood and ashes. She looked to Lavender smiling still "Pretty cool huh?". |

"Ha, looks like you got me!" Lavender replied sheepishly as Akiko gave her a poke; the older aeromancer cancelling her cloaking field, returning into view as the cocoon of heated air around her was expelled with a whooshing noise. "Hey Akiko-chan, what's up?" Lavender asked, before listening to what the younger girl had to say about studying pressure, watching with great interest as Akiko demonstrated her newfound technique. "Been studying your science, I see," Lavender replied with a grin, clapping her hands at Akiko's display of aeromancy-generated lightning. "And that's pretty impressive - that's one technique I'd recommend you to keep working on," the older woman remarked with an approving smile - just as she had been trying to find more ways to better utilize her own aeromancy-generated plasma, looking to utilize them in a more practical manner instead of an awesome but impractical mass destruction technique. "Just don't forget, ever, that the proverbial sword you wield is not for killing, but to defend those who are unable to defend themselves," the older woman continued, sounding more solemn as she basically gave the younger aeromancer an admonition on how with great power comes great responsibility, and prayed that Akiko would learn to view her newfound strength as a responsibility, rather than a tool with which she could assert her superiority. "But something tells me..." Lavender trailed off as she examined the book lying nearby. "That you didn't call me over just to demonstrate your new techniques?" |

She looked to the book and nodded "Hai, I found this book and it says something about Higher Aeromancy, I want to know more about it" she walked over to the book and held it up for Lavender to see. It was old, forgotten and a chance it was a book that shouldn't have even been in the room in the first place. But if Akiko could learn one of these higher Aeromancy Arts she could protect more people, heal them, perhaps even prevent someone from dying. Maybe she was too dedicated to something like that but she didn't want to see people get hurt around her. "Ano...and would you help me master one? I think this one would be useful" she pointed out the healing music made from wind, a mass healing spell too that'd test her stamina and endurance and push her limits constantly with every use, constant use could hurt her too, who knew how badly as well. She needed to have something better to do though, even Lavender could tell she didn't do much. It was pretty much school, karaoke palace, training, eating and sleeping. She needed more friends, Akiko was thinking that lately. But the only other Elemancers she knew were Lavender and Katio, one was a teacher, the other was a jerk. With that she continued reading some of the text on the page, seeing another technique called Wind Ghost, that seemed very hard, turning your body into air and being able to reform yourself, a dangerous one to attempt but she could go anywhere she wanted...so she took note of it and looked back to the technique she seemed keen on learning the most. Healing was one thing she wished she could do, and this would give her the power to do so. |

"Huh? Interesting, can't believe one of these was sitting around the Wind Tower the whole time," Lavender remarked as she examined the book on Higher Aeromancy, somewhat surprised that the Wind Tower even had such a book to begin with, considering that the previous instructor, Chizu, has stated she wasn't much of a book person. But then again, it could've just meant that she wasn't much into reading, and collecting books could've been a different story. And considering the knowledge containing within the pages of the book, one could easily see why it was better off in the Wind Tower, rather than risk falling into the wrong hands. "Healing wind?" Lavender wondered as she poured over the various highly-sophisticated aeromancy techniques within the pages of the tome, before coming across one specific technique that Akiko stated she wanted to learn, apparently a wind spell that was capable of healing one's allies. "Honestly that sounded more like magic than elemancy," the older aeromancer remarked. "But I'll see what I can do to help." |
