"Well then shall we be off?" Shin asked, while extending his arm for Loretta to link her own arm with. "Although." He began while scratching his cheek with his other hand. "I have no idea where I'm going." He laughed sheepishly. "I'll have to rely on you both for directions." He looked to Matthew. "While we are walking maybe you can tell us about your own abilities Hazemen-san?" If anyone paid close attention to Shin they would notice that he always placed himself in between Matthew and Loretta. Needless to say he was wary of the taller student. Matthew had implied that he was over one hundred years old, didn't need to eat normal food and was no longer human. Shin could think of a few supernatural creatures that fit that description and many of them viewed humans as their food source. So he kept himself between Loretta and Matthew, his free hand hanging loosely at his side as if it was ready to grab something. All while still wearing his usual carefree smile. |

Matt smirked as Shin made sure to interpose himself between Loretta and himself, and how he extended his arm to her. Now isn't that adorable Matt thought to himself. Looks like someone's already got a wee bit o' a crush. He didn't mind that the other boy was apparently on his guard, for whatever reason. After all, if it came down to it, Matt was sure that he would be able to pound most humans into the ground, even if they were empowered in some way or another. The Homunculus would continue grinning as the three of them began walking, not commenting verbally on Shin's actions. "Aye, I suppose I could tell ye about me particular little oddities. And since we may be travelin' for a wee bit, I suppose I can continue with the long version. Now, where was I..." He would snap his fingers after a moment of thought, his smile widening. "Ah, yes! So, the boy almost kills the other one who stole his food when he's pulled off by some strange vistin' woman who was lookin' to adopt a few of us. She slapped this boy right across the face, knocked him right out. Next thing he knew, he woke up in the middle of a bunch of monsters. Quite a scary sight for him, I can imagine." Matt would chuckle for a moment after that, shaking his head some before resuming. "But, contrary to what he was thinking, these monsters didn't want to eat him. No, they wanted to take him in, give him a home. All he needed to do in return was serve them faithfully, for as long as he lived. And he agreed. For five years, he was at their beck and call, willing to do whatever the monsters wished. He was trained by them to be a skilled servant, taught to read, to write, to fight." Matt would stop for a moment there, his expression becoming wistful for a moment. It would be the first time that the other two had seen him stop smiling during the entire time he had been talking. "But that wasn't enough, not to last forever. The boy had a close call while serving his masters one day. Impaled through the chest while defending them from those who would hurt them, just barely shy of his heart. He became afraid that day. He realized that as long as he served the monsters, he could die. And they wouldn't care. After all, they could just find someone just like him, another unimportant human willin' to just do whatever they said. And it ate at him." Matt would sigh after that, stopping for a good long moment. "So he decided that he would make himself important, like them. He decided there was nothin' to bein' human aside from weakness and frailty. So he started down a path to cast aside his humanity, to become something better. For five years. without letting the monsters know, he stole from them. He took supplies for experiments, notes on their processes. He began hunting down those with the knowledge that he wanted, murdered them in the name of his masters and took what they knew for himself. He abducted people off the streets, used them to test his process on, then killed the failures so that his secret wouldn't be revealed." Matt had said that all matter-of-factly, apparently not disturbed by the atrocities he was mentioning. But then again, why would he be? It had happened a long time ago, and the Homunculus knew that each and ever one of those actions had been necessary for him. So what if he had ruined families, cut short a few lives, ensured that others would die? In the end, simple stupid humans like those didn't matter, not when one was going to be better than they ever could be. Still, he knew others didn't agree with him on that point, so he would simply be quiet, as if waiting for the other two to say something. |

Loretta smiled and nodded. "Yes, let us be off then. We can eat at the first place we com across." she said with another nod for emphasis. She looked at the offered arm and smiled a bit with a blush. "Thank you for the off, and I don't mean to be rude, but I think I can walk." she said as politely as possible. At the moment, she was less weirded out by Matt. That was about to change. As she listened on, walking with the two, her smile was slowly falling. First to hard pressed lips before descending into a frown and a grimace. She no longer felt more comfortable with Matt. As the ending lull in this section of conversation arrived, she managed to utter. "Uh, please don't tell me that was you....." she asked to Matt. |

"I believe he was referring to himself Frederina-san." Shin replied. His smile still present, but it was no longer reaching his eyes. Before Shin was merely being cautious when he remained on guard around Matthew. But now he was fully prepared to either attack or flee with Loretta in tow. After Matthew's story the list of creatures that Shin suspected he could be shortened considerably. "Lets see." He thought to himself, now placing himself in front of Loretta and facing Matthew directly. "Doesn't need to eat, either immortality or very long life, above human capabilities, contempt for humanity and the sun is still shining." His eyes narrowed to slits. "Tell me Hazeman-san. He began, his tone frosty in contrast to his usual smile. "Would I be right if I believed you were a homunculus?" If anyone paid close attention to Shin's shadow they would notice that it pooled at his feet. Both of his tendrils ready to either stab or restrain Matthew or throw up a shield around Shin and Loretta. Edited by Silverback, Jul 17 2014, 09:46 AM.

Matt would simply shrug as Loretta asked her question. "What was it you said a little bit ago, lass? That havin' an ability would make things interesting? Well, ye happen to be right on that one. It makes things quite a bit more interestin', especially when ye happen to be the one who has to give yerself powers. But regardless, it was a long time ago. The past is the past, and what's done is done." The homunculus would smile again as Shin said his bit after that, a slight glint in his eye. "Ah, someone seems to have an education in the so-called monsters o' the world. Though surprisin' ye'd lean towards an artificially created human body when there's other things to consider. For all ye know, I could have been tryin' to make meself a demon." He would laugh at that, shaking his head some. "But o' course, demons don't exist, so I guess that'd be just stupid, wouldn't it?" Matt had noticed the even more extensive combat preparations on Shin's part, though he hadn't reacted to them yet. "Oh, and laddie. If I wanted to fight ye, I wouldn't be tellin' ye about my particular capabilities. So, ye should probably calm down, before I decide to become insulted by yer reactions. And trust me when I say this, laddie: You will not like it if I decide yer insultin' me." |

Loretta's mind reeled at the possibilities at what else Matt could have done but was sure her mind only skimmed the surface. Mostly because she was forcing it to only skim the surface. She did not want to delve deep into this train of thought. She gave a small nervous laugh. "I did say that, didn't I? Well, I suppose still yeah, more interesting. But I am not so sure that I would give myself powers through those means. Unless I really didn't have a choice." Loretta stopped as Shin moved to the front. She listened to the observations, as well as the guess. "Would I be right if I believed you were a homunculus?" She cocked an eyebrow, waiting for confirmation.....and explanation. She had no idea what a homunculus was. That explanation was part of another explanation altogether, coming from Matt. "... surprisin' ye'd lean towards an artificially created human body when there's other things to consider...." Loretta forced a nervous laugh, looking between the two, at both of their sides. And as accusations seemed to tense between the two, she extended her hands out, placing one on each of their chests.... or at least Matt's upper stomach area. "Whoa you two, there is no fighting necessary, we are just friends learning about each other and looking for food, right?" she asked, looking between them and trying to get them both to start walking. "So, how did you.... well, get the way you are? Artificial human body you said, right? If it is not rude to ask." she said with a forced pleasant nod. Then, she had a slightly silly thought. "Wait, demons aren't real?" |

"You'll have to forgive me Hazemen-san." Shin replied, his muscles relaxing and his shadow returning to his natural position. "I have simply had bad experiences with supernatural creatures in the past. I tend to be a bit on guard sometimes and I apologise." He tilted his head to the side. "As for how I guessed you were a homunculus.... Well to put it simply you don't feel like a demon to me. And I have done a great deal of research on supernatural creatures." He looked to Loretta. "And I can assure you Frederina-san demons do exist."

Matt would raise an eyebrow as Loretta interposed herself between himself and Shin, smile still on his face. "Don't worry, Lass. I don't really want to fight. Not me style, particularly when I'm still in need o' some wee adjustments to how things work nowadays," he would say as he moved her hand off of him. "Don't mean that I won't, or that I won't enjoy it if I have to, but I'm not gonna actively pick a fight. Though ye may want to keep a closer eye on him. He's veritably rarin' to go!" He would chuckle some at that, shaking his head as Shin began to speak. "Right, right. A few bad apples, and yer ready to judge everyone a bit away from the human norm. Love human reactions like that sometimes." He would simply wave his hand at the demon comment, as if he didn't care about something like that. If they wanted to believe in imaginary troubles such as that, then all the more power to them. Matt didn't and wouldn't, though. Loretta asked her question after that, prompting the homunculus to chuckle some more. "Lassie, don't worry about being rude about it. I don't mind explaining what makes me the way I am. Actually, one of the few things that shows I'm not a complete moron in this world. Simply put, through the careful use of alchemical reagents, bio-mechanical engineering, and genetic manipulation, I was able to change the composition of me body. I extracted DNA from meself, used it as a standard template to make an embryo, altered it slightly so that it would go above and beyond what humanity was capable of, then waited for the embryo to gestate some before bonding it to my body. From there, it simply used the template inside of it to change every scrap of meself into a bio-mechanical machine based off me own DNA, while ensuring that me memories and personality remained unchanged." He'd turn at the point, folding down the back of his shirt collar some, revealing a small patch of what appeared to be circuitry growing in the flesh on the back of his neck. "Thanks to it, I don't need to eat or sleep, I can't be infected by any viruses or bacterium, I'm highly resistant to almost all forms of toxins and venoms, I'm stronger and faster than any normal human could ever be, I don't age, and I can regenerate from just about any state of wound, given enough time." He'd fold his shirt collar up after that, turning to the other two. "And that, Lassie, is how I got the way I am." |

Loretta nodded happily that there was no confrontation and began leading them on again, getting everyone to start walking. "Good thing you two didn't start fighting. Little I could have done to stop you both. Heck, Little I could do to stop two normal guys." she said thoughtfully. She interjected into the following conversation. "Well I can't personally say anything about demons or monsters or things of the like. Never met any of them, unless I didn't know it. " Loretta listened with great interest to Matt's 'creation'. "That all sounds really interesting and really difficult. Have you ever considered, maybe, going into the medical field? Sounds like you are pretty dang smart. Sounds like you could help a lot of people with science and technology like that." she said with emphasis. |

I can assure you Hazemen-san." Shin started. It was more that just a few "bad apples" as you say that made me mistrust certain supernatural creatures." He wanted to add that he only mistrusted those species that preyed on humanity, but he held his tongue. Not wanting to scare Loretta, Shin didn't elaborate on the reputation that most homunculi had, or their urge to consume human flesh. He doubted he would win any points if he told Loretta that Matthew may try to take a bite out of her. Of course if he did try, Matthew would find Shin's blade at his throat and the demon hunter's shadows piercing his torso. He couldn't help but grin when Loretta suggested that Matthew get involved in medicine. As if a homunculus would waste their time helping a species that they thought was beneath them. But it did raise a question in Shin's mind. Matthew was over a century old. Why was he currently attending a school? Was he hiding from someone? Perhaps we can continue this conversation in there." Shin interrupted, pointing to a nearby sushi restaurant. "I have a craving for sashimi that wont go away. |

Matt's smile would fade slightly as Loretta talked about bringing his discoveries to the medical field, and he rubbed the back of his head slightly, as if embarrassed. "Yeah... There's a few things that make that a bit problematic, lassie. I kinda sorta.... Well, I may have possibly," The homunculus would cough into his hand, looking away from the other two, and spoke the next part quickly. "Lostallmynotesontheprocess." A slight red tinge would come to Matt's cheeks, an obvious sign of the embarrassment he felt. "I mean, yes, I had them recorded down in triplicate, written in code, and hidden away in secure locations. But, ya know, being buried underneath castle ruins with significant head trauma can make even the best memory fuzzy." Shin would thankfully lead the conversation away from Matt for a moment, letting them know that they had arrived at a restaurant. Of course, the only problem was that Matt had absolutely no idea what Sushi even was. Not that he cared right now, though. It was a way to distract the others from losing all of his notes on what was essentially immortality, and how much of a blunder that was. "Ah, yep. Sasha Mimi sounds like it'd be delicious. Let's go and have some!" |

Loretta began listening more and more, letting herself slip out of the conversation and more specifically let the topic of conversation no longer turn back to her or her lack of powers. She never really cared much to be the object of attention or center of conversation, so she was letting the two boys talk everything out. She smirked a bit and shook her head. "I can see why you are embarrassed. Losing all your information on how you.... did what you did must have been pretty devastating. Assuming you could even, if you wanted to, reverse whatever effects there were, I bet you can't without them." Loretta said a little glum-fully. "But this story of a castle falling on you? I want to hear that next." she insisted before stopping with them. "This place will work." Loretta agreed, not a fan of sushi but not a fan of complaining. She could find something to order. |

"I must agree with Fredinanda-san" Shin spoke, his voice now lacking its cold edge as he entered the restaurant. "Its sounds like a interesting story Hazemen-san and I would love to hear it." Spying an empty booth Shin made a motion for his companions to follow. It was only after he sat down and browsed through the menu he realised that neither of his companions were Japanese like him. Matthew didn't know what sashimi was and if he knew his names correctly Loretta was Italian, he wasn't sure if she was familiar with Japanese cuisine. "The Nigiri and Norimaki look good." He mused giving a subtle suggestion to the others. "But I think I'll just get some salmon and tuna sashimi." Edited by Silverback, Jul 22 2014, 06:06 AM.

Matt grumbled underneath his breath as Loretta talked about his missing notes, his face reddening even more. He'd follow the other two in, a decidedly grumpy look on his face. He wouldn't respond to their requests to know about the castle incident, instead simply sitting down with the other students with the same displeased look on his face. Eventually, he'd speak up again, after a good two or three minutes of pouting. "Alright then. I'll tell ye the castle story then. Not like I haven't already admitted to bein' a murderer. Long story short, the homunculi I was servin' found out what I was up to. The exact details aren't exactly clear, but I fought the leader of the Troupe, one-on-one. It..." The homunculus paused there for a moment, concern on his face. He put a hand up to his eyepatch, and lifted it up. The burns that had been around his eye had been obvious since the other two had met him. He knew that much would be obvious. What wouldn't be obvious would be what his eye-patch had been hiding. The Homunculus' eye was gone, a simple gaping hole where his eye should have been. The tissue inside the empty socket was obviously burned, and three line-like scars were in there as well. It looked like someone had simply reached in and plucked his eye out, burning him all the while. "It didn't end well. After that was done, she toppled the castle I had been hidin' me embryo in on top o' me. Said it would be best for me to suffocate, be crushed by tons of rubble." He put his eye-patch back after that, his happy mood gone. "Up until recently, I was buried under there, dead to the world. Then, some people accidentally dig me up, and I learn that the entire world's changed. I mean... Those former colonies in the New World suddenly matter, the East is suddenly engaging in more open trade with everyone, everyone's carryin' these strange things that they call phones... Hell, ye people even figured out to to fly with mechanical aid!" He shook his head some, chuckling bitterly. "So, here I am. 'Bout 100 years behind the times, and I can't even remember where the thing that made me really special is. I should be living the good life, have a nice mansion, servants, the works. But here I am, sleeping in bushes because I can't even figure out how a clock works!" He slammed a fist down on the table, a look of frustration on his face as he splintered the wood with the impact. "I may as well have done nothing, for all that the process did to make me matter!" |

After working up a hunger from working out, Rakutsu decide to get something to eat. He heard about a sushi restaurant near the school so he decided to check it out. He got his hoodie and red bandanna on and speed his way towards it. As he made it to the restaurant the waiter gave him a weird look because of his cloths. Even though he sat Rakutsu at a table to three people a girl and two guys. As he got a menu he saw that he got water on the table. He took his water and drank it at superspeed. He sat the glass down on the table up side down. He then look at the three and gave them a small wave.
