With Seth’s arrival, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what had happened. So for Maria, it was pretty clear. First of all, this girl, Sena, had lost something or someone dear to her to people with supernatural powers. Secondly, Seth, a student known for being grumpy all the time, was actually taking a gentle approach to this girl. And finally, Sena reacted with what appeared to be a mixture of hope, surprise, and apprehension, and she called him “Niisan” of all things. Putting it all together, there was only one possible answer. Seth Ryouga was the precious person Sena had lost to people with supernatural powers. Not in the traditional sense, mind you, Seth was very much alive, but he probably left her behind in Tokyo when he came to Hyakuji. It can be just as bad, but Maria was thankful it wasn’t anything worse. She walked up next to Sena and placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder. “Looks like this story just might get a happy ending. You found your brother, and he’s perfectly fine. Ask anyone at the school and they’ll tell you he’s one of the most famous students here.” Maria tapped her chin as a thought came to her. “Why don’t you enrol in the school Sena? You’ll get to be with your brother, and you’ll get to see what most supernatural users are like. If you want, you can take Science classes, the one I teach. I can show you how people without powers can stand up to those who do. I don’t have any powers either you know?” Looking down at the girl she smiled and gave her a reassuring pat. “As for you Mr. Ryouga…” The scientist’s voice took on a cold edge. “What were you thinking, leaving your little sister behind? Can't you tell she really looks up to you?” |

One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng

"The famous part is more like an unwanted side-effect," The young man replied meekly as he scratched his cheek, giving an awkward half-glance to Heleth and the other guy for getting themselves involved in what he considers to be his own personal matter. Well, it really is his own personal matter, so he should be the one to handle it. Especially considering it's... well, not just personal, but familial matter. Now if only he could figure out how to actually approach this because... "...Um. Hey," He said, somewhat fidgety as he stopped right in front of the girl named Sena. ...It's been nearly four years since he last saw her face to face. Of course he was at loss for words, what the heck do you say to a sister whom you've left behind all by herself in four years? "So... how's mom and dad?" She didn't answer immediately. She still had the silent, disbelieving stare on him before her gaze dropped to her shoes. "...They're fine. Just came back to visit last Christmas and told me to give you their greetings," She answered curtly. Short and straightforward, so much so that the young man was taken aback by it. "...W-well um," Once again he was at loss, unsure on how to continue to the conversation. "How... how was school then? Em. You should be in high school now, are-" Clang. The baseball bat was dropped to the ground. What the young man really wasn't prepared for was what came after. "NIISAN YOU STUPID IDIOT!!!" Out of nowhere a series of fists smaller than his own came bashing down on him, albeit doing nothing but making him jump back with a yelp. "FOUR YEARS!!! FOUR YEARS, AND I NEVER HEARD FROM YOU EVEN ONCE!!! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, JUST COMING OUT OF NOWHERE AND... LEAVING ME BEHIND ALL BY MYSELF?!" A teary, clearly angry outburst as Sena lashed out at her brother with four whole years of pent up frustration, not even caring there are other people around. "I TRIED CALLING BUT YOU NEVER ANSWERED!!! I WAS LONELY AND THEN I KEEP HEARING ABOUT THIS STUPID SCHOOL ON THE NEWS...! I WAS WORRIED ALL DAY AND NIGHT I CAN'T EVEN SLEEP, STUPID...! Stupid... stupid niisan...!" And then she stopped, seemingly having expended her energy as she leaned her head against the young man. Though she has stopped trying to punch the air out of him, she clung tightly onto his shirt, as though hoping that he would, "...Never... leave me again..." The girl said, between hiccups and strained sobbing. "...Please..." ...Could he really? Despite having so many chances and the ability to do so, he never even once thought of stopping her outburst. ...He's got no excuse for it, honestly. "...I'm sorry," The young man owes her so much... he thought to himself, as he brought an arm around her in a close embrace, something she had probably been missing in the last four years. "I'm... really sorry. I won't leave you again, I promise," "...Pinky promise..." She said in muffled voice after she has calmed down somewhat, raising a hand to him with her little finger extended. A small huff of amusement and a little smile from the young man, as he too raised his hand, intertwining their little fingers together. "Pinky promise," And shook hands once. Really. He has no excuse. The two withdrew from each other, the girl wiping her eyes before remembering that it wasn't just her and her brother there. "...Um... I-I want to apologize... for causing so much trouble..." Sena said, mildly flustered and embarrassed as she bowed down deeply to the scientist, the red girl and the other boy, earnestly showing her remorse. More so to the guy because... well, she did kind of hit him on the face with a baseball. "I knew he was here all along, I just... I... I don't know... I'm sorry," The honest reason, probably just an act of venting out her feelings. Not that she could really say it, and to Seth, it doesn't really matter. The young man placed a hand on her head in a reassuring pat, much to the girl's increased embarrassment. "H-hey come on, I'm not ten anymore..." She said flustered, swiping the young man's hand away. "I realized," Seth said with a small chuckle. "You really grew up quite well in the last four years~" Look at his smile. It makes the statement so innocent. Probably too innocent. ... "...You pervert," Sena said, giving the most disdainful look at her own brother, crossing her arms in front of her and edging away from him. There was a resounding crack as the young man's heart broke, and a mirth laughter from someone else inside Seth at his misfortune that no one else would be able to hear but Seth himself. ...Well in any case, "Erm... Don't worry about the window, I planned to pay up for that!" As she said that she reached into her sling bag for her wallet, before drawing out... what seemed to be... quite a large sum of money... before handing it to the scientist. "Would three million be enough? I'm... not sure how much windows costs, but if you buy them in bulk... I mean in case any more gets broken-" It was only then did she realize her brother was peering over her shoulder at the cash she was holding. "What is it?" She asked curiously. "...O-oh, nothing," Is what he said, though his attention was clearly affixed to the money in her hand. "Just uh. ...Do you think you could lend me some in the near future...?" She was perplexed to hear that, to say the least. "...Why?" The girl asked warily, though not really sounding like she was against the idea she was understandably curious. "Don't you have your allowance from mom and dad...?" "Well I really would have if they had sent me something in the first place," The young man said in annoyance as he crossed his arms. "It's like they forgot I existed or something!" ... "That's probably karma then," Sena said nonchalantly as she turned away, and it took her brother a while to realize what she was talking about before pain struck his heart like an arrow. "W-wait, that's no excuse to forget they have a son...!" No, they clearly haven't forgotten, didn't she just said they told her to give him their greetings? It obviously wouldn't have been necessary if they could directly contact him in the first place, so it was entirely his own fault. Nevertheless, she ignored him for the time being and turned back to the others. "I have actually planned to enroll here actually," The girl said as she once again reached into her sling bag and drew out a large envelope that seemed to be holding quite a lot of stuff. "I've already prepared all the necessary transfer documents, and I've even got a lot of recommendations to get myself enrolled here just in case. Getting the studio director's signature was a bit hard though, he kind of doesn't want-" "Wooaah, hold on there a second, I haven't heard about this!" Well of course he hasn't, considering he never heard anything of his sister in the last four years anyway, but that's besides the point. "I thought you just came here to visit! Why do you even want to move all the way here just for high school, what about Tokyo?" "Well the whole place was practically in ruin including the school I was supposed to attend this year and our home, so staying there isn't really an option," She said, unintentionally letting a hint of scathing lace her voice, though it was enough to make the young man pause for words. "...W-well, why here then?" Seth said, though it wasn't immediately obvious, in a second attempt to convince her not to come to this school. "You saw the news, this place isn't exactly safe either, and there are lots of other places you can go to instead-" "Pinky promise," All of a sudden Sena interjected him, raising a hand with her little finger extended, her stare at him hard and somewhat threatening. It was then the young man remembered the little childish promise he made to her just a few minutes ago. He gulped. "...B-but-" "PINKY. PROMISE," ...One has to wonder if she had actually planned out this entire ordeal... |

Heleth followed the whole scene in partially surprised silence. Apparently, Seth didn't contact his family for four years. Good Job Seth. That explained a little more why she was mad, at least now her rage was rightfully directed toward the responsible. Sena excused herself, then proceeded to offer three millions to pay for the broken window. "T-three millions!?" well, it was hard not to see how foolish was such an offer, and it was hard to not say anything. Heleth was disconcerted by the girl's naivete, but immediately regained control, and a wide grin appeared on her face. After a short exchange between the two siblings, Sena revealed she planned to enroll in the school as well. Seth's complaint about it were easily silenced by two words and a single finger pointed in his direction. Heleth whispered to Maria: "After all I think I may get along with her. She's so cunning it's adorable!" Edited by Sota, Jul 28 2014, 07:08 AM.

Seeing Sena basically play Seth for a fool made Maria burst out laughing. “You two must exchange notes Heleth, and share it with me will you? I think a certain young lady would be very amused if she saw this.” Who knew the strongest man alive had a little sister who could keep him in check like this? Ah… Sibling love… The TA cleared her throat and took the envelope with Sena’s documents. “Well, I certainly have no problems with a cute girl like you attending our school. I’ll take these to the office and get you enrolled, it shouldn’t take too long considering all your credentials.” She gave the envelope to Esther who took it in her mouth as she waited for them to finish here. “Don’t worry about the money for now, I’ll bill you later once I finish the repairs.” There was a certain gleam in her eyes now, whether it was due to the prospect of using her new machines or getting the money wasn’t clear, but that wasn’t important, right? “Come to think of it, where are you staying? If you need a place I’m sure your loving big brother wouldn’t mind sharing his room. Which room is he in again Esther?” “Yuki dorms room 413. But are you sure it’s okay? The dorm may be co-ed, but the floors are…” Maria waved Esther’s concerns off. “They’re siblings, I’m sure it’ll be fine. It’s not like Seth will try anything on his little sister, right?” She shot the young man a look, mostly trying to get a reaction out of him. “I’ll be on my way then, don’t try to fight too much you two~” |

What is this thing?

"Well then." Jack stated, clapping his hands together. "I'm glad this all ended amicably." He looked at his watch. "I should probably get back to class." He looked at Sena. "Take this advice from a fellow newbie." He started. "Keep your brother close, things have a tendency to get weird around here. It would probably help if you had the worlds strongest man close by or on speed-dial." He looked back to the school building. "I'm off then." He nodded towards the reunited siblings. "Nice meeting you Sena, I'll see you both some other time." He gave his teacher a polite bow. "Till next time Miss Annings. He turned to Heleth. "Mastema" He said coolly. He then strode off. Still clutching his cheek, which continued to throb. He briefly considered climbing back in through the window. He would have done so simply to annoy Heleth. But since Maria was also present, the Garou was on his best behaviour. So he used the front door, forsaking his imagination and creativity. |
