"So this is the place..." It was well late into the morning on school days. All the students are probably in class provided they're not playing truant or being dragged around by their teachers for some practically lesson. Otherwise, the school ground was deserted. It was probably a bad time then, for the teenage girl around fifteen or so with the pumpkin red hair tied into a side ponytail in a sweater and carrying a sling bag to come to school. Quite the contrary actually. She chose this time, because she could be sure to attract as much attention as she could. She was also holding a baseball bat. An aluminum one, and she was lightly, repeatedly, batting a baseball into the air with nothing but, well, the aluminum bat. Little pings continuously resounded as she looked around the building of the school as she picked her target. Ping! A bit more force was given to the bat, sending the baseball to fly up vertically. In the time it took for the ball to reach peak height, the girl adjusted her glasses and her stance, taking hold of the bat with both hands and pulled back... The ball fell and reached her eyeline- CLANG!!! A hollow, yet quite resounding ping of metal against baseball as the girl's hit struck true, accompanied by a determined "Hyaah!!", sending the ball rocketing towards one of the many windows of the school's main building in front of her- CRASH!!! -and smashing through it, right into one of the school's presumably empty hallway! That had better get their attention. |

Jack was whistling as he walked back to class from a bathroom break when he heard a loud CRASH!! of a window shattering beside him. This was followed by a meaty SMACK!! as a baseball suddenly impacted the side of his cheek knocking him on his ass. "Could somebody get the number of that bus?" He thought dazedly shaking his head in order to clear his thoughts. He stood up growling, looking for whatever idiot thought it would be funny to launch a baseball at a school, if it had hit one of the more fragile students someone could have been seriously hurt. He walked over to the broken window in an attempt to find the culprit. When he looked out he saw no one but a younger blonde-haired student. He was about to dismiss her until he saw that she was carrying a baseball bat in her hand. "Hmm don't recognise her, but she looks to be a second year and I dont know many of them." A small blush crept onto his cheeks "She is kinda cute though." He thought quietly. He winced as a sharp pain seared though his cheek which was now a raw red colour."Oh right, don't forget Jack she still hit you with a baseball so don't freeze up around her like a bloody lemon now." He grumbled as he touched his cheek in order to survey the damage. "That's gonna leave a bruise." He sighed seeing no one else in sight, he picked up the baseball and walked over to the window and opened it wide, jumping onto the windowsill. He looked down, he was on the second floor and about five meters at the most off the ground. He shrugged, he had fallen from higher back in London. He pushed himself off the windowsill and landed on the ground in a crouch. He strode up to new girl presenting the baseball "I believe this is yours, do you mind me asking as to how it found itself in my cheek." He asked attempting to keep his tone jovial in case this was all just a big misunderstanding as he pointed to his cheek which was now red and throbbing. Close to the entrance, Heleth Mastema was just about to leave the main building, sitting on a bench as she was putting her last shoe on. As soon as she finished and stood up, the sound of a yell and that of a window breaking in the distance entered her ears. Taking her suitcase nervously, the dual layered eyes of the red demon's head turned around as she checked her surroundings. Her somewhat original double green ponytail waved behind. Heleth left, leaving the locker room with a nervous gait as soon as her eyes focused on a girl with a shiny baseball bat standing right out in the courtyard. That clearly was the culprit! As she approached the door, a student literally landed outside, clearly falling from the upper floor. Curses! What's with this total lack of discipline!? Repressing a growl, two strands of her hair moved to open the entrance door. The short demon stopped, checked above to see a broken window and the one next to it wide open. The Head prefect inhaled all the air she could, and turning toward the two with a ravenous gaze she roared: "Just what the hell was that for!? Who do you think you are, running around and damaging public properties!?" She then pointed a finger at the student that was handing her a baseball ball, and had a jovial expression despite a huge bruise on his face. Boys. "Windows aren't shortcuts and doors aren't optional! Civilized people use stairs! Do that again and I'll report you!" Heleth's ponytails waved once behind her, despite the absence of wind "I hope you have enough money to pay for that damage, girl!" Edited by Sota, Jun 30 2014, 02:06 PM.

“…allballballballballballball...” A faint voice could be heard, gradually getting louder and louder until… "BALLL!!!!" … a medium sized dog practically tackled Jack over as he wrestled the ball from the boy’s hand. Looking towards said dog the students would see that it was clearly mechanical in nature, and it was in the process of chasing the baseball around while wagging his tail furiously. “Goodness Brogan, contain yourself! You’re making us look bad.” Following the source of the voice the students would then see a young woman in a lab coat approaching flanked on either side by two more robotic Great Danes. The one who had spoken, a female if her voice was any indication, trotted over and picked up Jack by his collar and set him on his feet. “Now apologize to him.” Brogan laid flat on all fours with his head low and ears drooped. “I’m sorry mister! I got too excited and whatnot…” “Good.” The female Great Dane looked up at the woman who was apparently their owner. “You know if you acted more like a teacher I wouldn’t have to do this Maria.” “But you’re so much better at it than I am, Esther. It’s more efficient if you do it for me you know?” Esther shot Maria a glare and the scientist finally conceded. “Fine, fine… I do have to earn my pay check I guess.” She walked up next to Heleth and placed a hand on her head between the ponytails. “I know you’re just doing your duty Ms. Mastema, but it’s possible that it was an accident. So try not to jump to conclusions okay?” Maria patted the red girl lightly before continuing to Sena. “Hmm… I haven’t seen you around before, so you must be new around here. Before I welcome you to Hyakuji… did you break the window on purpose?” |

...Oh crap, did she actually hit someone? The girl's stomach did an unpleasant back flip when she saw someone emerging from the other side of the broken window with the baseball in his hand. She started to panic slightly, because she didn't actually intend to hit anyone with that. What was he doing there anyway, as far as she knew the current time should be when every students are supposed to be in class and lunch time is still far off! Her panic turned into shocked horror when she saw the boy clambering over the windowsill. "...W-wait wait, what are you doi-?!" She let out a small yelp when he dropped, covering her eyes and turning away, unwilling to see what would happen to someone falling from that height. That is, until a very casual and unhurt voice made her turn back in perplexity, suddenly finding him standing in front of her and holding the ball to her. She stared at him in silence, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape, glancing between his bruised face and the ball. Though soon enough, her expression turned to that of anger, attempting to snatch the ball away and quickly stepping back. Except she wasn't able to get a good grip on the ball and it just slipped through her finger. "W-what was that supposed to be?!" She yelled out, seemingly aghast. "You could have broken your legs from that height, where's your common sense?! And why aren't you angry from being hit?!" Speaking of someone being angry, the pumpkin-red haired girl jumped in surprise at the angry yell coming from... a red-skinned person?! It wasn't even the kind of red anyone would get from sunburns either, but a very, very vivid, tomato red skin. The dominating presence and unusual appearance of the red girl seemed to scare the other female enough to have her step back even more, determined to keep as much distance between them as possible. In her attempt to calm herself down, she tries her best to think about her current situation. This red girl sounded very authoritative, is she from the Student Council? If she is then... that's actually brilliant come to think of it, she managed to get the attention of someone potentially influential. The girl swallowed as she took the red girl's warnings in stride, set her face as she straightened up in an attempt to look like she has a purp- "HYAAH!!" Never mind, she lost it again. A terrified shriek followed by a hasty retreat that didn't fare too well, sending her tripping on her own foot and falling onto her butt, because out of nowhere a large dog just outright tackled the boy to the ground! She soon would realize the dog didn't actually mean any harm and was just aiming for the ball, but what terrified her even more was the fact that it was... hardly a dog at all. Or, well, a real dog. A bead of cold sweat ran down her cheek as her fearful, widened eyes stared at the robotic canine happily chasing around the ball before being talked down by... by... another robot dog? That and they're accompanying a woman who looks more like a scientist than an actual teacher. ... No, no, she can't lose herself here and now... This is a bit too much for the first time she's here, but she can't... she can't falter... The girl took deep breaths as she ran her fingers across her hair, doing her best to calm herself down after her new discoveries. It took a moment but she finally got back up to her feet, albeit a bit shaky on the knees and using the bat to help herself. More deep breaths. Calm down. She's here for a reason. "...Of course I did it on purpose, can't you see what I'm holding?" The girl partially regretted sounding a bit too rude to someone who is probably of the staff, avoiding making eye contact with the scientist and settled with looking straight at the red girl. A scoff. "Che, why should I pay for one broken window..." She said, her slightly shaky voice actually betraying her nervousness, but her eyes was that of determination. "...When you guys are the ones who ruined my life?!" She didn't mean to yell. Her emotion just took over for a moment. "I... I want apologies. No, I want more than apologies, I want compensation..." She said after a few deep breaths to calm herself yet again, raising the baseball bat and pointing at the three who decided to greet her. "...For what you guys did in Tokyo," |

Jack grinned as he watched the girl react to his fall. "Don't worry I'm a bit more durable than I look." He said gesturing to his thin frame. And don't worry I'm not angry with you because it was just an accident, right? You didn't mean to hit anyone." He gave the girl a little wave with his free hand. "By the way I'm Jack." He greeted, using the less threatening pronoun of "Boku" instead of his usual "Ore" in an effort to convey to the girl that he wasn't angry at all He then turned to the red-skinned girl. "Well you see." He began, trying to come up with an explanation for why he used a window and not a door. Unable to come up with a reasonable one he decided to rely on snark instead. "Doors are for people without imagination." It was then that Jack found himself suddenly pinned under several kilos of metal dog wrestling the baseball out of his hands. "Guh what is with me and getting knocked on my backside today." He muttered to no one in particular as another robo-hound picked him up by his shirt. "Thanks" he said to the dog that picked him up. He then bent down and patted the dog that was now apologising to him. "Don't worry about it boy, if you just wanted to play all you had to do was ask." He gave a polite nod of acknowledgement to the teacher that arrived before listening to the girl's rant. "I wasn't even there at Tokyo, but I can say that if it wasn't for the people who pitched in there wouldn't even be a Tokyo anymore." He tilted his head in confusion. "Besides, if its compensation you want why not just go to the government, wouldn't they have a method for dealing with the collateral damage?" He stood up again and pushed the girl's baseball bat down towards the ground. "I'm sure they can reimburse you for whatever damages were caused." Edited by Epicjester, Jul 2 2014, 09:18 PM.

Her brief instant of superiority (given by the fact that the girl actually stepped back, a really satisfying reaction!) was interrupted by the rulebreaking boy. "People without imagination?" Heleth clenched her fists at the snarky observation of that undisciplined student. Did he really wanted to irritate her more? Her answer was interrupted by the arrival of the Science TA and her robotic dogs stepping into the scene. The demon frowned when the TA pet her, apparently barely containing her rage, and snorted once when she gave her a pat. And then this newcomer found some courage and dared to confirm she did it on purpose. The angry, green haired demon simply waved her hair. Someone higher than her took word into the matter, as such she had to let her do the talking and comply. Unfortunately, receiving some undeserved accusations made her snap. She took a step forward. "Just as the brat said!" she replied "If it wasn't for the support of the people in here not only Tokyo, but the whole world would be no more!" a wide grin appeared "The students of this school put their lives on the line to save this human filled planet! You owe us much more than what you could possibly ask us!" She really had the temptation of shouting that they were heroes and that she should worship them instead, but even the demon known as Heleth Mastema knew when to stop. |

“On purpose…?” Maria frowned at Sena. Great, she tries to act like a teacher and runs into a trouble maker. “I’m afraid I’m going to have to hold you responsible then miss. Esther, look her up and make a note about the incident.” “As you wish.” The robotic dog became perfectly still for a moment before cocking her head in curiosity. “She’s not in the student database Maria, but I filed a separate record for her.” The science TA nodded, but the frown persisted. “If you’re not a student here you have some explaining to do. I could have you arrested for vandalism you know?” She fell silent as the girl started to tell her story, the silence only broken by the sound of Brogan happily playing with his newly claimed ball. As the tale winded down and the two students made their arguments, Maria sighed heavily as if recalling some unpleasant memories. “My daughter was there when it happened.” All three of her dogs looked up at her, even Brogan. “Seeing all that changed her, so you’re not the only one who suffered a loss young lady.” “But you know what? Hyakuji had nothing to do with the attack. It was the work of a mad man caught up in some sick game.” She sounded strangely serious, anyone who had her class can attest to that. “Like they said, the Hyakujians tried their best to keep the damages to a minimum, it was thanks to them that the chaos ended at all. So if you want to blame someone, blame the mad man who started it.” |

... If words couldn't convey what she felt about their responses, then her disbelieving stare would betray everything. "...The government...?" The girl said in a hushed voice, glaring at the boy, "I... owe you...?" and then the red girl. She glanced momentarily at the scientist with the same unpleasant look before burying her face in her hand. She then gave a strained chuckle. "...Yeah... yeah I thought you'd say that..." Her words were laced with anger and disappointment upon hearing their answers. "Of course... you guys have the power, you get to have all the privileges and be the heroes..." The hand holding the baseball bat tightened even more, her temper that she had been trying to keep under control burst upon the scientist's last words. "WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I WOULD BE SATISFIED WITH THAT?!" Once again her anger flared, yelling at the top of her lung at the scientist, not even caring if she was getting herself into trouble anymore. "You people can say anything and do anything you want because you have powers, what about us who can't do anything to help ourselves?! What are we supposed to do, just sit back and take it all in?!" Honestly, she really doesn't care who was the real culprit behind the attack in Tokyo. To her, they're all the same... heroes, villains, privileged people with powers being able to do anything they want, not even caring that they're all ruining other people's lives in the process because they're nothing more than unfortunate collateral damages... And unfortunately their responses, right here, right now, just served to reinforce her belief. |

Jack listened to the girl's rant and had to admit she did have some points. He did sometimes take his power for granted and believed himself to be above the average human. But he couldn't help but get a little angry when she said that they could do anything they wanted. He sighed, mastering his anger and asked the girl "Then what kind of compensation are you looking for." He started. "If its not money you're after, then what do you want. A pound of flesh? Or something equally ridiculous like asking everyone here to give up their powers?" He scoffed "Here look." He said reaching into his back pocket and putting on his silver bracelet, suppressing all his powers. "Ta-dah, I'm completely normal now, happy?" |

"Ahahah...Ahahahah!" Heleth giggled. A contained, low and somewhat cute giggle realizing the whole situation. She giggled a little more when the boy used a silver bracelet, stating he was completely normal. Heleth took note of that. Anybody's weakness was to her advantage. But that was something that could have some uses in the future. Despite her short stature, the girl was now looking down at the angry human girl. Seemingly any trace of anger dissipated. "My my, so that's it! You're just envious, aren't you?" The demon put a hand on her side, leaving the other one down. "You just want to be a heroine, am I right? Or you want power for yourself and abuse of these so called privileges as well!" Her hand ran trough one of her ponytails as she waved it. "What a selfish little girl you are!" An instant of silence, then she spoke again, a calm and polite tone in her voice. "Now, be a good girl and pay back the window you just broke, please" |

Ahh… so that’s what this is about. Maria sighed and scratched her head. She didn’t have any powers either, so she could sympathize with Sena, but at the same time she could hardly be considered normal. What to do… what to do… First things first, the scientist reached out to Jack’s arm and slipped off the power suppression bracelet, putting it into his hand. “There’s no need to deny who you are. Besides, I don’t think doing so will help things right now.” Continuing on, what Heleth was doing wouldn’t help pacify the girl either. Looks like keeping the peace would be up to her. “She’s not envious Ms. Mastema, she’s hurt.” Maria’s tone softened greatly, with a hint of pain lacing her voice. “Her home was wrecked by people like ourselves, so I don’t blame her for lashing out at us. But…” She looked straight into Sena’s eyes. “There’s something else to it, isn’t there? Or is it someone? I don’t know who or what you lost, but I can tell that whatever it was, it must have been very precious to you.” Maria broke eye contact and turned away to face Heleth. “Tell the school I’ll take care of the window. I have some repair bots I want to test out anyways.” The scientist glanced back at Sena as she beckoned for Brogan to return his prize, which the robot dog did after a bit of hesitation. “What kind of compensation were you looking for in coming here? Obviously not money, so revenge then? Would you be satisfied if you smashed every window in the school, or even if you burned it to the ground? Or would you be satisfied after you beat up every single power user? Would doing that give back what you lost?” |

When someone is angry, sometimes they would lose the capability to think rationally. Their actions would be fueled solely by their emotion, and often they would do something they would regret after when they have calmed down. She had been holding the baseball bat in her hand the whole time. It's a wonder why she's yet to swing it at someone's head. Was she afraid? Probably, but she did outright 'challenged' a whole school full of superpowered people (even if only three greeted her with the rest just stayed inside, being ushered back into class by other teachers). Was she smart enough to know she won't win in a straight up match, maybe. But that was hardly the reason. "...I don't know," She finally said, more as a response to the scientist. Her grip on the baseball bat visibly slackened. "...I don't know..." Her words seemed to affect her quite a lot, her voice cracking as though she was holding back something, staring down at her shoelaces. "...He'll... he'll probably hate me if I did that... I don't even know if he's even here..." "Oi, Sena," Her eyes widened as her head jerked up. Walking towards them, presumably having just exited the school building, was the young man widely known around the school as Seth Ryouga. Who for once, doesn't look as grumpy as he always would have. "...Niisan...?" |

"Niisan?" Jack said aloud looking over towards the newcomer. When he saw who it was he froze and all the blood drained from his face. It was Seth Ryouga, A.K.A the young man who had a very legitimate claim for the title of the strongest student in the school. Jack immediately banished all of the thoughts he had towards finding Sena attractive. Judging from the fact that Seth didn't look like he had just bitten a lemon it could be assumed that the brother and sister were rather close. Since Jack considered himself a cautious man he looked back over the conversation he had with Sena trying to remember if he had upset her more than the others. While he was doing this he moved so that Maria was between him and Seth. He didn't want to take any chances as he knew that Seth had a reputation for being rather easily irritated and Jack didn't want to be punched across town. ........ What? He didn't know the guy and Jack was standing right next to his upset sister. Jack didn't want to die that's all. |

"..." Heleth didn't reply to Maria's observation. Maybe that young human girl was hurt, but that didn't give her any right to damage public properties! Her gaze simply narrowed. Rules were rules, and that was a broken window in need of repairs. Still, the science TA went on, highlighting a detail Heleth completely missed. There was something else to that childish act. No, someone. The red demon gave a surprised gaze at the TA. She was a very perceptive person, wasn't she? A glimpse of admiration appeared into the dual layered eyes of the demon. Admiration that lasted briefly: Heleth initially didn't like how she dismissed that act of vandalism by taking her the duty of repairs, but the fact that she higlighted that it was a chance for personal gain changed Heleth's perspective a second time. Maria's observation struck the window breaking girl in a way much more effective than her taunts, adding points to how her perception greatly helped her in settling things down, and also found a chance for personal gain. Smart, very smart. The green haired girl took point that she definitely had to improve her diplomatic skills. Good job Maria Annings. For what's worth, you gained Heleth's respect! Then, something surprising happened. Seth appeared, leaving the school building, and greeted the newcomer with a not-grumpy tone, and it was very blatant he knew her. The confused girl also called him brother. Curses! Seth has sister!? And it's that impulsive and disrespectful girl!? Wait, it all made sense in perspective. And why should she be surprised? She never actually asked Seth about his family anyway! It was highly possible he had a brother or a sister in the first place! The red demon couldn't help but notice how the unmannered window jumper with silver weakness became very pale. He froze in place like a salt statue* when he realized the blood tie between Sena and Seth. "Heh" Heleth's usual wide grin appeared on her face, but she didn't add anything. 'Seth. Your reputation scares the living hell out of any newcomer, doesn't it?' she thought. Watching the boy's shiver was an insanely pleasant sight. EDIT: I didn't put the reference!
