The Proud and Ordinary Girl

Character Name: Sena Ryouga
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Height: 155cm
Weight: 49kg
Description or Image of Character Appearance:

Blasphemy to the pure black-haired Japanese!

Occupation: Ace student, teen model, closet delinquent, the straight one
Grade Level: First year
Powers/ Abilities:

None.

Seriously, she has none. Sena is a straight up, normal, ordinary girl from a somewhat ordinary family with no powers or special abilities of her own whatsoever.

Okay so she may have some talent she's proud of, but they're really nothing special.

For one, she is a very quick learner, by the average person's standard. Give her a new language to learn and she will probably be able to speak fairly fluently in the language in just half a year or so. This easily contributed to her exceptionally high grades in school, often earning herself commendations from the teachers. Of course it's not limited to just academics, she is also quick to learn skills provided she is given enough time to practice, along with some motivation.

Speaking of which, she is also fairly athletic, good in a number of sports and well-versed in many kinds of martial arts including kendo, baseball, football, archery, judo, basketball, just name it and you can expect that she would have meddled in it at least some. Although, even if she is pretty handy in pretty much anything, she barely has experience in any kind of confrontation that involves violence.

So yeah, pretty much an exceptionally talented but otherwise completely ordinary girl.

Equipment You Have:

Aluminum Baseball Bat: The same bat she had used when she first joined a baseball club back in junior high. It has slight dents and scratches all over it, and the the cloth wrapping on the handle was replaced quite often.
A bunch of random small items: Mainly to be used as a baseball stand-in, these would mostly be small round-ish objects which can be found everywhere if she looks around properly.
A small and thick hardcover book: Used to take notes of little happenings in her everyday life, as well as a pain-inducing instrument.
Pair of glasses: Her not-so-stellar eyes are something she had been cursing about since junior high.
Toshiba Dynabook R632: Which she usually carries around in a small sling bag. She goes on the internet a lot.

Residency Request: With her brother Yuki, Room 313

Schedule:
Homeroom Teacher: Hiro
1) Cooking
2) History
3) Science
4) The Arts "What do you mean I can't take more than three electives?!"

Personality Description:

"I hate powers,"

That would be the very first thing to come out of her whenever the topic of powers come to be whenever she is around. Mostly stemmed by the fact that she has absolutely no special powers or abilities of her own to begin with. She views them as people with privileges, being allowed to do anything and everyone else turning a blind eye on them just because they are better than your average Joe. This in turn, instilled a sense of discrimination somewhat towards those with powers, disliking or at least giving the cold shoulder treatment to those who uses them around her.

That doesn't mean she is entirely loathsome of the whole community though. If you put aside the powers just a bit then you'll find out that she is actually quite friendly and easy to get along with, even though she's not really much of a conversation starter. Most of her personal stuff she keeps to herself unless asked, the same goes for much of her own problems and would more often than not try to solve them by herself rather than asking for help. Not that she wouldn't accept any if they pester her enough, but she would absolutely NEVER accept any kind of help that involves the usage of powers or special abilities.

Tidbits:

  • Runs a blog under the name 'Akahime-sama'.
  • Her hair is actually naturally black. She dyed it yellow-ish red a while back for a modeling job and had it kept that way since then because she liked it.
  • Has a guilty pleasure for fried and fast food.
  • She actually has her own stash of money she made from her modelling work, which she uses for her living rather than relying on her parents.
  • In contrast to her guilty pleasure, she actually dislikes sweets.
  • Has over three closets full of clothes.
  • Her eyesight became bad because she used to pull all-nighters playing games or watching TV. She still stays up late, but more often than not it's to study. Usually.
  • Avoids contacts like a plague because she is scared of putting things in her eyes.
  • Fears swimming because of the aforementioned fear.

Personal History:

Sena Ryouga is a perfectly ordinary girl from a perfectly ordinary family. In a sense. She was born in a fairly... well, not outright wealthy or luxurious, but they had an easy life. She lived at a fairly luxurious apartment with her parents and her brother. ...Well, occasionally with all three of them, because her parents are usually never really around much due to being 'busy'.

That just leaves her and her brother living together in the apartment. Was it quiet... sometimes, probably. Was she lonely, not really, but she does wish her parents would come home once in a while. At the very least they do come around for her birthdays and New Years. Sometimes once a week, but otherwise it was only her and her brother.

If she doesn't really give it much of a thought, it's really not that bad of a life. Where she lived and studied there was no one with special powers or abilities as far as she was concerned, barring those she keeps seeing on TV or on the Internet. Her life was fairly simple and easy, ordinary, uneventful, boring.

She's not complaining. The thought had never even crossed her mind. She's actually happy with her normal life.

She wasn't prepared when one day she saw her brother actually exhibiting signs of having one of those... 'powers' or 'special abilities' she keeps seeing on TV and the Internet.

The initial shock was a bit strong for her, and it took a bit to wear off before she could actually accept it, albeit hesitantly. While others that knew her or her brother were quick to be envious or admiring on her brother's newfound power, she wasn't so enthused. But it's alright, she thought. Everyone has their time when they get popular with a newly found talent, it'll pass sooner or later and it would just pass and everything would go back to how it was again.

It wasn't even that long after when she found out her brother had decided to transfer out of the city to another school. You know, that one school she keeps hearing about, Hyakuji High or something for people with special abilities.

She's not complaining. Or at least, she tried hard not to. When he was gone, life turned back to how it had always been for her. Normal, ordinary life. The only difference being that she now only has to prepare one serving of breakfast instead of two.

She doesn't have to wait for anyone to lock the front door before going to school anymore.

She now buys bento from the store just downstairs of her apartment for lunch break at school.

She doesn't have to wake up someone who likes to nap on the train when they got to their station.

She also doesn't have to share her lunch with someone who keeps forgetting his own despite being the one who cooked it.

She can go straight home instead of waiting for someone after school to go home with.

She buys bento from the store just downstairs of her apartment after school too for dinner.

She also has to take out the trash every day now instead of alternating days with someone else.

She doesn't have to do as much dishes anymore.

She can stay up as late as she wants and no one would berate her for it.

She can cry as much as she wants in her sleep and no one is going to give her the warm comfort she had always gotten.

Sena Ryouga lived a normal, ordinary, and full life in Sumida, Tokyo. An ace student in her class and school, highly active in sports and other curricular activities, quite the popular one as well as being a very successful teen model to the point where she's making her own living out of it, no longer relying on her parents for allowance. She had just finished her last year of junior high, and was getting ready to step into the world of high school.

She had been doing all she could to keep herself occupied for the past few years. It was actually going quite well, and she was... quite happy with her life as is now.

Just before entering high school she would be involved in an event that would significantly change everything she knew for the second time in her life.

The entire city was in absolute CHAOS. Barriers between reality was broken, myths and legends coming to life right in front of the panoramic window of her apartment, a clash between the past, present and the otherworldly having turned the very city she is living in into a horrid amalgamation of... of...

Her head had been a terrible mess. The TV wasn't working, she could only get static from her radio, she couldn't connect to the Internet, her phone wasn't getting any kind of signal, and hell if she's going outside for any kind of information when there's... ALL THOSE, running amok all over the place. The girl was horrified, she doesn't know what the hell was going on outside of her darkened room, curling up in a teary mess on her bed and just... hoping, praying to god for everything to just, stop. Please, bring back her old life. Make everything go back to how it used to be. Make that giant monster disappear, she doesn't want to die, the whole building had been shaking violently this whole time and it sounded like there's a pretty destructive battle outside...

Make it stop. Make it stop make it stop make it stop.

And it did. She's still alive.

Though it wasn't until much longer did she manage to brave going outside to see what's going on. She regretted it however, it... really wasn't a pretty sight. The city, or at least the part of it that she could see, was back to how it was barring the fact that it looked more like the remains of a battlefield instead of Sumida. The road had been torn apart, there were massive draconic footprints everywhere, buildings were broken and... well, worst of all was when she looked up at the building she had been in during the entire time she was hiding... It was a wreck, and she doesn't know just how lucky she had been to survive.

It took a few more days until she could reconnect to the rest of the world outside Tokyo.

According to various rumors and stories, as well as eyewitnesses accounts, she connected the dots.

The entire chaotic incident was caused by some madman, motivation, unknown. He had apparently cut off the entirety of Tokyo from the rest of the world. He was also apparently confronted by a bunch of kids, those around her own age or just a bit older. The JSDF had been around, but they supposedly 'weren't able' to do anything. Everything had apparently been stopped when the madman fell to his death into the maw of a giant monster.

There was really only one ending that she could see the dots being connected leads to.

They were all people with powers and special abilities. They had to come from Hyakuji, one of the few places in the world with such high concentration of superpowered people. ...Okay sure there are quite a bunch of other places but that was the only one that came to mind at the moment.

It was also where he went.

The girl cursed under her breath, snapping her laptop shut as she made up her mind, then and there.

Mashed Potatoes? I'll smash your puddings.
