*Skip Skip Skip Skip*

A flurry of footsteps.

An occasional grunt.

A small herd of beastlike humanoids traversed carefully down a garage, with no humans in sight.

A hunt was on. In some ways, 2 hunts. Both prey and hunter, these creatures were on the prowl.

"...What in the world...?"

A young man with long white hair looked at an odd vending machine as he was walking down the road, stopping as he did so. What started out as a routine walk to the supermarket now changed to a moment of curious intrigue. I mean, yeah, new vending machine, that's interesting and all, but this was more interesting than normal. For some reason, it seemed...familiar. Like he'd seen something from this before.

Looking over the machine, he saw cans that he'd never seen before inside. All based around animals. This was very new, indeed. He reached into his pocket, curious. I mean, hey, bad idea to shop when thirsty or hungry, right? Maybe that gorilla soda was banana flavored or something. He put in some money and...

...nothing?

...Another set of coins.

Nothing still.

...

"...Oh come on." The young man said, tapping the machine with some force, a can finally coming out of the machine. Then another. And another. "Ack, woops...." He began, before...

"Ook ook Ook!"

The cans literally crawled out of the machine's tray. Except now they were...actual gorillas. Hopping towards Damon. Arms spinning.

"...Oh you have got to be kidding me."

Another day, another moment to try and patrol. BOARD needed to do a lot of damage control thanks to a lot of recent incidents escalating to ridiculous scales. They also lost a lot in recent operations because of it, so manpo..wer was stretched thin. Between damage assessment, disaster relief and other things that prove to be an administrative nightmare, all personnel had their schedules filled.

So when a signal indicating that one of the many RideVendors located within the city limits apparently was malfunctioning. The network in itself wasn't perfect so something like this was a common occurrence...so much that almost anyone could fix it when the warning went off.

"...Well, that's a surprise."

So, a it was Kazuna to respond to it. Pulling up in a RideVendor of her own, one that was in its bike mode, even. Before even acknowledging Damon though, she simply hopped off and picked up one of the stray Gorilla candroids. With a simple button press it reverted to can mode. "Do that while I deal with the source!" leave the simpler task to someone else while she herself dealt with the busted machine...!

Bwah?

Damon turned his head away from the flailing gorilla-things, as he heard a vehicle pull up close by, and a girl jumping off an immediately picking up one of the tiny apedroids. With a simple tap of a button, the thing stopped moving, and was turning into a can once again. She told him to do the same with the remaining flailing machines, as she moved onto the machine. Wait, wasn't that-

Bah, monkeys first! Damon nodded towards Kazuna, kneeling down and doing what he could with the Candroids, finding some difficulty in getting close to them. Some of them were easy to turn off, and others were just flailing so much that getting a hand on them was a nightmare. As he did his work, he could hear something...familiar. But where had he heard it from?

Prey?

Prey. Two prey. Maybe more. Streets empty, seemed simple. Wait for ambush? Perhaps.

No. Not yet. The Dragon was with one of them, hiding on their side.

They could take the dragon, they were many, it was one. But surprise was needed.

The candroids kept coming out of the RideVendor, though for a moment Kazuna looked a bit lost as far as what she needed to do to stop them went. Then all of a sudden she gave the damned thing the best side kick she could give. For whatever reason, it actually stopped the candroids that were still inside from climbing out. Long enough for Kazuna to insert two Cell Medals inside and hit a button on the front to call out two Cans, both the red ones used for the Hawk.

Popping the tab open, Kazuna immediately ordered them to help with the overall cleanup. Which simply entailed the red mecha-birds flying around and dropping the stopped Gorillas in the trash bin next to the RideVendor.

"I really gotta tell Leo to label these things better..."

Kazuna sensed something briefly, but ignored it however. She'd been too paranoid lately...and that paranoia was feeding a certain something within her...

Aaaaand now there were can birds. Just...wonderful. What the hell was a vending machine like this doing out in public!? Was he just the only one who looked at such a thing and said 'Hey, something new and neat, maybe I'll see what they have,' and then boom, this fiasco happens? Gaaaah, Damon just put a hand to his forehead in frustration after finishing turning off the last of the rampaging ape-cans. And then there was this girl, who...wait. Right. Riiiight she was that rider that one time, at the museum. And considering what she said, and her skills with this stuff...

"...Haaah. Board makes such weird things, I see. And here I thought that they just specialized in the more technical weapon-like things for you Riders..." He said, just shaking his head a bit. "My apologies for...breaking it?" He asked, unsure if it was really even his fault. He didn't...THINK it was.

That was when the high pitched whine grew louder, causing Damon to grasp his head with the hand he held up to it tightly, the noise growing ungodly loud now. "GRGLGH!" He gasped out, his eyes widening. Where in the....What in the....

"RUN!"

Three monsters were down, a few blocks away, causing chaos. Everything was fine, not a problem in the world, until these three...things leaped out from seemingly nowhere, and tried to gore people with their horns. They were in general causing a mess of things, causing people to flee and scream in terror. As the three began their rampage, a blue glint could barely be seen in the reflection of a glass door nearby, and some gold specks were in the glass that surrounded the area...

"S....SORRY." Damon practically yelled out, running in the direction that the chaos was coming from, almost a full second before the yells could even be heard. "Something's wrong...something's...what the hell is that noise and why is it so loud!?" He ranted, at nobody in particular. This was the second time he heard it, and these screams signaled that yet again, there was danger whenever this noise was happening.

His hand was already instinctively reaching to the pocket that the Advent Deck was kept in. He was beginning to rely on this power a bit too quickly, he had to admit...but something told him, it was needed for this.

"...We normally do, but I really don't have an answer as to why everything looks like this."

Though from the way she talked about their current systems, it felt as if the apology for "breaking" the devices wasn't necessary. In short, the newest batch of equipment was inherently quirky, thus, more prone to not being reliable when the situation called for it. Though, before the matter could be discussed further, the horrible gut feeling Kazuna had earlier was reinforced by a near deafening sound that caused her to flinch a bit.

"Just had to be one of those days..."

Kazuna muttered, even though she couldn't visually confirm where it was...she was quick to already pull out her belt and immediately transform. As per usual, since Ankh wasn't around it was the base set of medals that turned her to the default form of OOO, the TaToBa Combo!

...Of course you could tell how used to it she had gotten when she didn't seem to flinch at the belt singing.

As the two arrived on scene, there they were, the three creatures, tossing over various things on the street, and literally kicking down some civilians who were too slow to flee. The three turned, however, to face the already transformed rider and the young man who had yet to begin his transformation. "God dammit. Are these...?" He muttered, having a bad feeling about this, pulling out the advent deck as his belt formed around his waist. "Henshin." He muttered, sliding the deck in, and transforming as the mirror images overlapped him.

And then the trap was sprung.

From windows, glass doorways, any reflective surface nearby, more of the creatures emerged, leaping through them into existence. Surrounding the approaching would-be heroes was now a small flash-mob of these creatures, slowly moving in towards them. "...oh...come...On! Not again..." Damon muttered, looking all around him.

With a small roar from each individual creature, the pack rushed in. They looked to be out for blood!

"I take it you've dealt with these before."

An ambush? How did these things appear without any of them being detected before hand? If that was the case, it was a 'new' enemy...so their early-warning systems likely wouldn't have found anything if they weren't tuned to it. Still, Kazuna was eerily calm despite everything. Even Riders had to worry about being outnumbered, right?

Instead, she seemed to be...smiling behind her mask.

So, when they poised to strike, she simply let her claws flip out and hacked away at her assailants. While she did wish she had more of her "crowd clearing" abilities on her, she'd need to wait for Ankh to catch up. So instead, she fought simply to keep herself from being overwhelmed.

"Could use the distraction~"
