ZEHAHAHA!!
Lucid didn't feel disappointed that she had failed to kill the thief. She just scooped some of that goo into a handy vial and stored it in one pocket of her hoodie. The red and brown broken winged logo seemed to throb as she put her knife away.

"There was something in his chest. When I hit it, he went all static-like!" She was back to her old, cheerful self. "I think I might've hit it because he wasn't countering me when I did. Just a guess, you knooow~!"

She giggled, then patted Serenity on the shoulder.

"Well, if I end up losing these powers forever, I'll just go find some new ones. That's how things are." She shrugged. "Of course, if he shoots at you with my stuff, that might not be so good. Try to duck or something, okay?"

Then she turned to Jack, a crooked smile on her face.

"Oh, it was no big deal. Let's just get this guy and kill him when we get the chance. For now, we should rest and wait for his next attack."

As the victims spoke, Sora reached down to his pocket again, pulling his phone back up and fiddling with it for a bit. He was taking notes, quickly swiping his fingers across the screen to note down all the important information he could summarize from what the other three were saying.

"Right. Good. I'm posting this all around the school, alright?" Sora asked, not asking for permission as much as simply making a notice of it. Since this thing was in the habit of attacking random students, it's best to gather as much information about it as possible. Until now, there were only the vaguest details... For a moment, he seemed to be worried. But with a firm smile, he would quickly shake that off, simply continuing making his notes.

Sometimes, outlandish rumours are true. Not that it should come to anyone's surprise if they really were, considering the nature of their school. Gah, Sora would've preferred to have caught him here... it wasn't like he was particularly worried about others being attacked, but solving problems is fun. And this is one big problem they could've possibly solved...

Hah. Whatever. There's always a next time.

Sora's hand touched down on his phone again as the werewolf asked for details regarding his attack. He sighed, typing out a small string of text on his phone. He would slide the text between the three others, before retreating and starting to type something out again. As he did that, he would start to speak.

"We shouldn't be talking loudly about it."

"Well, I don't actually remember... I passed out as soon as it happened. When I woke up, I heard some loud noises, so I decided to film it..."

"It might be here, it's better for it to think we know as little as possible."

"I'll post it at the school if I remember anything. We need every last bit of information we can gather."

"It hid in a book. When I picked it up and tried to read it, it was drawing me in."

When the werewolf started walking towards the ramen house, he would follow, gesturing at the two girls to follow him. Of course, they could also not follow, but he pretty much considered that their loss. Sora took the short walk to write out the full experience, looking between the werewolf and the two girls. As they reached the ramen place, he would sit down... placing his phone next to him and pointing at the screen, showing it to Jack first.

"It was written in a language I had never seen before. When I tried to decypher them, the letters came out to attack me." He kept the textual description to attacking, as there was nothing that better fit the bill. "When my powers faded, the book disappeared. I don't know what was written in the book, but images made it seem like a story about a girl.

Anyway. Take the phone and write your thoughts down. It'll save us some time and trouble. If our opponent thinks we're dumb, we're going to be a lot better off."

Sora sighed, calling out towards the cook.

"Hello~ WE're ordering something. I want some miso ramen, and, uh..." He gestured at the lycan and the girls, gesturing them to give their orders. "What do the pretty ladies want?" But, before they could answer, he would let out an exaggeratedly perverted laugh, flipping his phone up in a horribly failed attempt to look cool and catching it mid-air

"Why don't you pretty girls give me your phone numbers in return~? I AM taking you out to dinner, after all!" He would make a horribly exaggerated pose, dropping to his knee and bowing as if he were in front of royalty. One arm was arm was stuck under his chest, holding his phone, pointing it upwards at the two girls. His other arm was stretched to the side.

...Of course, if they didn't read the message actually on his phone, they might think he was serious. This was him trying to be completely professional. Minimize suspicion by acting like a fool, as his opponent knew not better.

...Okay, maybe he was. Maybe he actually thought he was doing a good job at flirting now. Maybe he was never actually worried that the enemy was still watching, and everything was just a set-up to get their phone numbers. After all, they just DID give him their thoughts on the matter...

Maybe.

What is this thing?
"It doesn't matter if we talk out loud or not, you plan on putting up around the school." Jack answered Sora flippantly, no longer caring about subtlety right now as he entered the restaurant.

"Beef ramen please." Jack requested off the cook when they arrived in the restaurant and sat down.
He took Sora's phone in his hand and read over the notice. "Be sure to warn people to travel in groups of three at the very least. Our thief seems to have trouble dealing with multiple opponents." He ran an idea through his head for a moment and put his number into Sora's contact list. "Add my phone number to the notice, telling people to contact me if they want to help get to the bottom of this." He put down the phone. "You mentioned a book, where did you find it and what did it look like, any symbols or emblems on it that stood out or looked important?" He faced Sora now looking him dead in the eye. "I plan on doing some snooping and research and I need as many leads as possible for this." He finished, mind whirling with ideas and theories not even noticing that his fist's were clenched so tightly that he was beginning to cut into the palm of his hand. "I wont stand by while innocents are being threatened." He turned to Lucid and Serenity. "Are you to planning on joining me?" "If not can I borrow that vial of goo you got?" He directed his question towards Lucid. "I might be able to do some tracking if I can get a scent off it."

"He has a point there." Serenity answered after Jack pointed out that talking out loud was a bit pointless following sending it around the school. It was definetly not that difficult to get onto the school grounds and there was also the fact that there was nothing really stopping it according to what they had gathered in knowledge so far about the creature.

Following after the two towards the ramen house, it was definetly a dangerous situation. Even more then usual if the creature actually stole the powers of those that lost them, while she didn't know the full extent of Lucid's powers those spears looked deadly. She'd have to be careful if she ever ended up encountering the creature again. She was to concerned with trying to make sure she had all the information regarding this creature down that she was failing to notice most of the stuff going on around her.

"Miso Ramen for me, please." She spoke as she sat down, trying to categorize all of the information of the encounter. Maybe she was over thinking it and could end up making dangerous assumptions, but she wanted to be over prepared then under prepared next time she met the creature.

"That's a good idea, but it's also a bit naive." Serenity spoke in regards to the idea of traveling in groups, everyone eventually was on their own at one point. It was impossible to stay in groups all the time. "Maybe saying if you encounter it on your own don't engage it would be better."

Taking the phone up in her hands she put her number into the phone, she stopped for a moment thinking of what to put down before she began to type her thoughts into the phone.

Notes

She held the phone out to Lucid, in case she wanted to add something. "Can't really walk away from this." Serenity sighed, what had she gotten herself into with this. Of course she'd have to help, just turning away from this would be breaking that promise she held so dear. "Though I doubt that tracking it will have much success." She pointed out to the Lycan. "When it left, there was basically no remaining evidence of whatever that was existing apart from that 'blood' for lack of a better word." She spoke, waiting to see what the rest of them had to say.

"Sure, sure. Let's talk over some ramen. I've been craving a bowl for a while." Lucid skipped alongside the two. Maybe her lack of intelligence was good for her disposition, given that somebody with more of a brain would be pretty bummed out at getting their powers stolen.

A few minutes later, Lucid was facedown in a bowl of ramen. Not even eating, she just had her face in it. There were occasional signs of life, but nothing more than that for a while.

When Serenity passed her cell phone over to the fool, Lucid just typed in a few words.

Note

Mabe core will b in differnt place nxt time watch out 4 long term adaption

Then she passed the phone back to Serenity, face still in the bowl. Wow, she really could hold her breath for a long time.

While they had points, Sora still stood his ground. It was fairly easy to get access to school grounds, yes... but really, the thing seemed to be weak against crowds. And schools tended to be crowded! But on the other hand- it might not even be watching now. Or it might have easy access to the school!

There were a lot of possibilities, and it's a little early to exclude any of them. But, it's better to be a bit overly cautioned than to walk into a trap, right~? It totally wasn't like he was doing this just for Serenity and Lucid's numbers.

Sora sighed, shaking his head, before giving the pair a nod. He admitted defeat.

...Or he announced his victory, depending on what his goals were. Serenity DID enter her number, after all!

He would take his phone back as Lucid wrote on it, not interjecting as the beauty and the beast mentioned the necessity of groups. Serenity was right, it's impossible to always be around someone. But simply mentioning that people should not fight it alone should do the trick for the more... intelligent half of their students. It wouldn't do much for the half that insisted they could do everything alone.

Oh well, they'd have done what they could.

"Okay. Book. Symbols... err..."

This was going to be hard to explain. Sora reached back into his pocket, grabbing a pen and a small slip of paper.

"See this?"

He drew a single line.

"This would be one dimensional."

With the quick shift of his hand, it would become a box.

"Two"

Another movement, and it became a cube.

"Three- well, close enough."

It's not like he could create actual depth on a strip of paper, but creating the illusion of it was enough to make his point.

"Every dimension adds a sort of depth to the previous. These are the dimensions of space we can actually see."

Sora started scribbling more on paper, but after a while, he gave up and crumbled it in his hand. "Well, try adding 'depth' to our three-dimensional space. That's how the symbols in the book looked. They were... dizzying and nauseating to look at." A bit of paleness returned to his face. Even forcing them to reappear in his mind was a bit unsettling. Human minds were not intended to wrap around such a foreign concept.

"But, the things that I could work out... well, luckily, it was an image book. It looked like it was about a girl that constantly got rejected by everyone." Sora said, shaking his head a bit. "She kept reaching her arm out to people, and they kept walking away further. I managed to get about halfway through before the symbols attacked me."

As Sora finished his tale, he grabbed his phone, before standing up, and-

"Oh, dear, it seems like I forgot my wallet!" he would start patting his body down, patting at his body. "I swear I had it on me! Ah, ramen man! Can you put it on my dad's bill? His name is Koku-"

The ramen man reached his hand over the counter, grabbing at Sora's collar and holding him still.

"You of all people should realise you can't pull the same trick multiple times!"

...Did he already try it on this man? Dammit!

Quickly, the storeowners hand would slide into Sora's... shirt? When it reached around his chest area, it would pull back, pulling out his wallet and fiddling out the money Sora owed. After grabbing that, he simply sat it back down, face up and open.

...He clearly seemed to have a fair bit of money.

The liar

Aside from money, his wallet was covered in pictures. Him as a cute little boy, posing with his family. A few pictures of his mom and dad individually. His dad shared his red-hair and his aloof posture, while the softness of is eyes was something he got from his mother. There was also a single picture of him standing with a brown-haired girl, who seemed oddly uncomfortable with the picture being made.

"H-hey, old man, that's sexual harassment! You touched my fine, manly breasts, and-"

"I'm a friend of your dad's. If I catch you doing this again, I'm telling your father."

There was a loud, audible gulp, before Sora made a quick bow.

"I-I'M SORRY~"

"The symbols felt dizzying and nauseating to look at?" Jack parroted. "You weren't reading the necronomicon by any chance? That would explain the messed up scent I picked up that led me to you." Jack shuddered as memory of the unnatural scent filled his mind. He mulled over Sora's description of the book "Well people we may be dealing with the angry spirit of a little girl, if a ring pops up on your T.V I would advise you to smash it to pieces." He let out a chuckle trying to lighten the mood. "In all seriousness, I might poke around the library see if I can find any old stories that are similar to that one, because right now we don't have many leads." He tilted his head to the side. " At first I thought it might be an angry spirit lashing out at everyone, but that theory actually doesn't add up when I think about it. It mentioned that it had a goal. Why would it need to steal powers? There's something fishy going on here." He asked aloud to the group trying to see if they oculd come up with answers, leads or other theories.
"Oh by the way you still haven't told me where you found the book. That's kinda important for an investigation." Jack stated as he brought his bowl up to his mouth in order to drink the broth from it.

He watched in amusement as the cook gave Sora a shake-down for his payment. He then noticed the pictures in his wallet and his attention was drawn to the brown-haired girl that looked rather uncomfortable. He made a gesture towards the photo. "Who's the girl?" He queried, pushing away his finished bowl and passing a few notes over the counter towards the chef to pay for his meal.

"There is a lot of fishiness happening." Serenity spoke looking towards the lycan. "Unfortunately we don't know why that is." She sighed, it was like trying to put together the pieces of a puzzle without having half the pieces. It seemed like they were going to have to go on a wild hunt for the remaining pieces if they were ever going to try and solve this mystery.

"It sounds like the book is definitely a good first lead, however deciphering it seems dangerous if it was what caused the creature to appear in the first place." Serenity spoke as she tried to think, her mind wasn't coming up with any solutions unfortunately.

Watching the situation unfold regarding Sora and the cook Serenity smirked, at least there was some normalcy in today to calm her down. She looked at the picture that had fallen down to the ground after the Lycan had pointed it out. The girl didn't seem comfortable there, she had to wonder why. It wasn't any of her business though and the Lycan had already asked Sora about it. She simply waited patiently to see what would come of the question.

"bllrughghg"

Lucid raised her face from the ramen, wiping her face with a napkin before she addressed the others.

"Maybe the story needs to be finished? That'd make sense, right? Translate the whole thing, and we can see how we stop the book from causing more trouble. I mean, it's not like stopping the thief guy is certain to stop more trouble from happening with it. That, and knowing how to kill him more than once is a good idea."

She was caught in an abnormal loop of thought. Since she couldn't actually shoot the enemy, she would have to be creative for once.

Oh, there would be bad, bad things happening soon.

"THE NECRONOMICRON!?"

Sora made a ridiculous pose, jumping backwards and protecting his face with his arms. He shivered and wiggled around uncomfortably, as if truly afraid by the dark magic that arcane tome was told to hold.

"THAT MEANS WE'RE ALL CURSED, AND DEAD, AND-"

Sora stopped, suddenly shrugging and sitting back in his chair.

"...No, I'd be able to somewhat read that. Vaguely. But I'd also be dead... and I don't think it would've disappeared."

The red-headed male sighed, waving his hand in the air and grasping at wind itself. Nope, there was nothing there. While he took the necronomicon mention as a joke, he mulled a bit more seriously over the other suggestions, letting out a thoughtful 'Hmmm~'

"Well, we can't do that without having the book. I could probably create a replica of it with my powers, but those are on a very undeserved vacation." Agitated sigh. "Eh, according to the rumours, powers tend to return after a day... Half assing this will probably give us bigger problems than we already have, so I'm going to wait until I'm sure it's all back."

He shook his head.

"Anyway, I found it on the ground, right here, in the park. I decided to give it a read... and you know the rest of the story."

Sora's hands moved towards his wallet, fiddling with a tiny zipper and pulling the picture that Jack commented on out. He was very careful and gentle with it, making sure not to rip or fold it on accident.

"Well, this girl was my cousin." as he said that, his fingers trailed towards her half of the picture. His thumb gently pressed down on her cheek, as if teasing her for looking so unhappy. "She died a year ago. Something attacked her, and she got knocked into a coma." Sora started fuzzing around a bit, quickly opening his wallet back up and sliding the picture in its protective, leathery grasp. "She got an extra leash on life because of her powers, but that only lasted for a few months. She faded away... and after a few weeks of hope, we finally put her underground."

Gah, very uneasy subject. Very, very uneasy subject.

"Her name was Hayate. She used to go to Hyakuji High, too. She was shy and always uneasy around people, but had a heart of gold. We still don't know what attacked her and put her into a coma."

"Oh wonderful the book shows up randomly." Jack grumbled after Sora explained how he found it. "Be sure to add to the notice that if anyone finds any odd books lying on the ground to bring them to either one of us who are investigating or a teacher, preferably one of our teachers that deals with the supernatural like Shun-Sensei or Tsukasa-Sensei." He sighed and rose from his seat. "Thanks for the info mate you've been a good help, post that notice as soon as you can." He stretched his arms. "I'm gonna start investigating tomorrow, might start poking around the library or check out the area where we fought it for clues, unless someone has any better ideas." He looked around. "Who knows I might find someone else interested into getting to the bottom of this tomorrow."

"Now if you don't mind I'm going to head back to the dorms, curl up in a ball and sleep until my system is free of poison." He turned to the girls. "Either of you coming with?" He shifted uncomfortably. "It didn't get my powers, for all we know it might target me again and try to finish the job." He shook the bracelet on his arm. "I'm kinda defenceless right now and I'd appreciate some company." He looked at Serenity. "If it saw you, it might go after you too, so it would pay to be cautious." He drew some more notes from his pocket. "I'll even pay for your meals." He added, smiling.

A sigh escaped Serenity, both of them were hitting on her in a situation like this. She should've been flattered but she was worried about the whole situation. When the lycan inquired if anyone was going to head back to the dorm she narrowed her eyes. The first thing she should be doing was getting into contact with her employers, see if they knew something about this strange book. Honestly, considering the circumstances that seemed unlikely. She didn't have her hopes up for that to change really.

"Fine, I'll tag along back to the gate." She spoke a little tired, she wanted to get back to the dorms and try to find out whatever the hell was going on. "I'll be heading off my own way after that."

She wasn't exactly in the mood to play around with these guys games, they just had witnessed a power thief yet none of them seemed to be that upset. With another sigh she stood up and stretched. She wasn't going to turn down free food still, if the lycan was really going to pay for her then by all means he could. The whole situation did indeed leave a sour taste in her mouth.

"A ghost, huh? In-te-res-ting~" Lucid nodded. She couldn't exactly see them anymore, so she'd accept that it was a thing. Sure was a thing, yep.

"I'll escort Serenity to her dorm. Since I already got my powers stolen, it's totally fine if I go home by myself." Lucid laughed. "How about it? Prefer no company to mine?"

It'd be nice if they could have a chat about things afterwards. Since she was now powerless, most of her bosses were going to stop paying attention to her. That is, when they got word of it. And if that was the case, it'd be a lot easier to hang around with Serenity. After all, they most likely wouldn't be at cross-purposes afterwards.
