"Well crap" David muttered to himself, backing away from the monstrosity that had spawned from his oven. "Tom take note; alchemy and baking do not mix at all" He commented to his familiar dryly. His spirit rose from its resting place on its master's finger and responded, its voice laced with irritation"Master I did warn you that using an untested potion would be unwise." "Oh come on Tom, how the hell was I supposed to see this coming." He shouted pointing at the abomination that had spawned from the young mage's first attempt at baking from his roomates cookbook. He attempted to make some simple looking muffins, but after getting impatient with how long they were taking, he decided to add an untested potion of haste in order to speed up the process of baking. Said abomination responded to David's rant by shooting a glob of hot dough at the prodigal magi's head. "Woah" He cried, ducking as the mixture of eggs, flour and milk flew over his head and impacted the wall behind him with a wet THWACK. "I believe that's my cue to go get some help." David muttered aloud to no one in particular. With that said he bolted to the front door of his apartment with the Dough Golem hot on his heels, oozing across the floor after him. He reached the exit, dashing outside and slamming the door behind him. He pressed his back against the door in an effort to keep the baking disaster contained. "Umm is anyone there?" He shouted out loud. "Because I could use a hand with something here". His voice became more frantic at the end of his cry as the Dough Golem began pounding against the the door in an effort to escape the apartment and unleash doughy chaos upon an unsuspecting world. Being made of dirt was truly the greatest advantage one could have in life. "I can help." The monotone voice escaped Dirtman's lips. He has smelled the scent of bread as he wandered through the residence hall. He had never thought the baker would need help but Dirtman, despite his lacking sense of taste had excellent marks in cooking. In all reality Dirtman, being a living mass of dirt, was probably more like the dough monster than the alchemist baker but never you mind that. "What's the problem?" He heard the pounding but it didn't seem important to him. |

"Heh heh, funny story, my friend". David replied to the earth elemental, while struggling to keep the door held shut. "A little baking accident resulting in the creation of a golem that I believe seeks the destruction of all non-confectionery based life". He paused for a moment tilting his head to the side as the aforementioned golem stopped banging on the door. "Or it just wants to kill me, either way I think we are better off dealing with it somehow". he finished. He finished his explanation not a moment to soon. After he gave his explanation the door handle turned and David was thrown forward, as the bakery beast had discovered how to use doors effectively. "Crap, its learning." David cursed rolling to his feet next to the newcomer. "I hope you know how to handle yourself in a scrap mate". He raised his finger pointing at the Dough Golem and fired off a Pressure bullet. While the bullet easily struck the golem's forehead it did barely any damage. Fortunately the golem seemed to be unable to heal itself leaving a small wound between the beast's eyes. "Well at least it cant regenerate, that would just be annoying". David said aloud. The Dough Golem however was not amused that this squishy meatbag was able to harm it and with a roar it hurled itself towards the pair in an attempt to destroy them. |

Dirtman firmly slammed forward, inserting himself between the dough golem and the alchemist. He wasn't someone who would be slammed to the ground like nothing, even by a monstrous force. It was a good thing he prioritized humans, though he questioned why he had made that decision. "Why did you attack your child?" Dirtman questioned David in the same monotonous voice he always used. It wasn't an accusation, more like an idle curiosity, as if he had time for those while he was ruining a perfectly good uncooked bread with his filthy... existence. |

"Umm because he seems to be fixed on killing and/or eating me." David told Dirtman after the Golem of earth stopped the charge of the Golem of dough. It's not a sentient golem like you, if that what you're worried about". He replied "Just a mis-mash of magical energies and baking supplies. Nothing but destructive instincts, trust me I have a fair idea of when a magical creature is or isn't truly alive." He began gathering power for a Pressure bolt in his right hand. "From what I can tell stuff like this happens all the time." He took aim at the golems face and let loose his spell. However the Fough Golem was growing impatient. After being repleled by the strange newcomer it backed up and fired a pair of Dough bolts at the pair. David's and the Golem's projectile collided in mid-air with a loud SMACK sparying hot dough towards everyone present. Fortunately though David's projectile was made of sterner stuff that the Dough Golem's. It managed to drill through the opposing projectile and hit the Golem square in the face destroying nearly half of it in the process."This is going much better than I thought it would". David thought as the Dough Golem flailed about after losing more of its mass. David was relieved that the fight would not take much longer if his new ally decided to take action against the Golem as well. |

"Why did you make a monster?" The bolt of dough pierced right into Dirtman's body, not that such a thing would stop him in his tracks. As he opened his hand to attack he recalled that he was indoors. He wouldn't very well break the building. Reluctant to take any more extreme action he took a direct physical approach and slammed his fist into the golem. He had seen more than a few humans make such a move and there was no reason he couldn't. Using his other hand he grasped at the golem's body and tore. |

The Dough Golem let out a shriek filled with rage as Dirtman's assault pushed it back and destroyed more of its consistency by tearing apart a good amount of its main body. If it had a brain it would wonder why these puny beings refused to die when their betters commanded it? "Well it was hardly intentional!" David replied the the friendlier Golem, as he held both of his hands in front of his body gathering power for a Pressure Cannon. "I just wanted to speed up some baking and added an untested potion to a batch of muffins while they were baking, the result is that". He explained while pointing at the mass of Dough that was flailing around trying to regain some of its lost mass but failing miserably. While he explained the situation he began slowly realising the lack of foresight and irresponsibility he displayed. He was lucky that such a resilient student offered to help, someone else might have gotten hurt. However the time for those doubts were long gone. He had a pastry beast to deal with. Letting out a cry he fired his Pressure cannon at the beast in an effort to end it once and for all. Thankfully his spell hit the Golem's centre of mass and promptly exploded showering dough towards everyone present. "Well that's gonna be a pain to clean up." David commented offhandedly to his ally. He sighed deciding that he would need to inform a teacher of what transpired here and would probably end up cleaning the entire dorm as punishment. He turned to his companion "Thanks for the assist, you were a great help". David told him earnestly. He paused sniffing the air. "No freaking way." He muttered striding back into his apartment towards the kitchen. "Hah hah, in your face Tom, told ya it would work." He cheered peering into his oven and finding his tray of muffins fully baked, resting inside. Giggling he took a nearby towel and extracted the tray. He called back to his comrade in arms "Hey come over here and let me give you some muffins as thanks". He offered taking a bite out of one of them. "They are a little over cooked but still o.k". He answered after testing one of the muffins himself. Edited by Epicjester, Jun 25 2014, 05:41 AM.

Dirtman tasted the dough golem. It was just a passive action. It wasn't terrible, though his sense of taste was lacking in a lot of ways. As the alchemist returned with a muffin Dirtman lightly took it in his hand. "Thank you." He bit into the muffin. It was slightly burnt, not that he totally comprehended the meaning of the taste. "Who is Tom?" He hadn't noticed anyone else around at his passing glance. |

"Oh Tom? He's my familiar. David explained. "He's kinda like a research assistant, scout and personal library all rolled into one". He held up his left hand that held a silver ring on its index finger. "Tom come out and say hello to my friend here." David ordered. A small sphere of yellow light, no bigger that a baby's fist rose from the ring. "Greetings to you sir." The spirit intoned politely. "I must also give you my thanks for aiding my master in his hour of need, if there is anything I can assist you with, simply say the word." The spirit informed the elemental. As Tom continued to float in the air David walked over to a nearby cupboard and retrieved a mop and bucket from it. "Now if you don't mind, I better start cleaning up this mess before my roommate gets back. But thanks for everything again, If you ever need a hand with anything don't hesitate to ask o.k?" David shivered at the idea of inciting Yukiro's wrath. If his friend got angry at him he would not be getting another one of Yukiro's meals anytime soon. With a weary sigh David filled the bucket with some hot water and began to work on cleaning the dough off the floor, the walls would take even more work. He let out a small groan. "I think I'm gonna leave the baking in the apartment to Yukiro from now on." Edited by Epicjester, Jun 26 2014, 06:03 PM.

"Good luck." Dirtman turned aside from the alchemist. "See you around." It was probably true. After all this was a school so there wasn't much chance they wouldn't encounter each other again. Dirtman chewed on his muffin. It wasn't half bad, though he didn't doubt that 's roommate was better. Maybe he could slip himself into another meal with the alchemist. Being able to make living bread, he understood, was pretty impressive. If the other one was better he couldn't imagine what they could make. The dirt man had some truly strange thoughts on occasion. |
