To: THE RIE FAMILY

You are invited to the Ishii Biyearly Party
12:00 am-3:00 am
Ishii Monumental Building

Ishii Clan(signed on top of the Ishii’s emblem)

Ishii Biyearly Party. The Ishii Clan love their parties and no one knows the reason of celebration. Some people say it’s for the fun of it while rumors tells of a darker agenda. Their parties have garnered quite a reputation for it’s fancy designs and entertaining show. Most notable was the Japanese tradition performance and it the past had Kabuki and Nihon Buyo. Their parties also have a mix with western taste seen in it’s food and it’s venue. Due to the variety, guest are free to wear western clothing or Japanese clothing.

Though it most interesting part would be the guests. The party starts out formal but around the end, when the alcohol start to take effect, things start to go crazy: gun firing, fighting and yelling. There have been report of murder in the past. The people who stayed during the end are either close members to the Ishii clan or considered crazy.

It was dark, the interval lights from the road street lamps passed flashed through the car window and illuminate the inside: two passengers. One of them was wearing a beautiful silk kimono as she looked out the car window. She gestured to the other passenger, her bodyguard, and pointed outside. There stood a group of buildings as the car drove toward them.

“Do you see the building next to the egg-like building and behind the semi-circle one? The building with the odd swerve at the top is the Ishii Monumental Building. It’s funny, it was built only a decade ago-basicly brand new. They’re using it as their main place of business. The reason why it was called a monument, why they called it a monument, is because for the future. It is to mark this generation so that in the distant future the clan have something to mark their success. Ironically, it cost a lot of money and the clan wasted most of it’s fundings.”

Sayo touched the glass window as she stared. It was probably why they were so mad at her business for entering the same market, they need the money and the Rie Enterprise would be delaying it. She traced the glass as she indicated to a particular spot.

“Do you see where the little part of the building connects with the larger part, where the swerve is? The floor that connects the two would be where the party is hosted. I don’t have the schematics of the floor unfortunately but I do know that it’s connected to an outside garden and I have the outline for that. The party room will be lined with doors that lead to the garden, on the other side of the garden is the edge of the building. There’s only a meter-long silver railing that border the garden. ”

Sayo passed a file, inside was the schematic of the garden and the guest list.

“I was able to get some information about the guest list. There will about 200 hundred people, they range from political, celebrities and clients that have relationship with the Ishii Clan. I won’t be expecting to see anyone I personally know there. 15 of them are blood related to the Ishii family while 50 are sworn in members.”

“There will probably be around another 100 people there: from staff, photographers, security to personal bodyguards.” Sayo sighed as she thought able how she was suppose to survive the night figuratively and non-figuratively. It will be hard to socialize to strangers while not dying. The car turned to the road that leads to the lobby.

"Most guest would bring a bodyguard so they'll let you through although they'll confiscate obvious weapons such as guns or knives-that they find on you. They won't take that thoroughly since the party would be heavy guarded. Many have manage to sneak in weapons but no successful assassination on the Ishii Clan. I think they purposely let a few weapons in just for fun."

She'd also brought a small knife which was well hidden with the many layers of her kimono.

“Any questions?”

"No, that's enough information for me to work with."

Sitting across from Sayo was Serenity, she decided to go with clothing that was a bit more appropriate for her role in this job. Looking over all the relevant information she nodded, this was all good enough. Of course she didn't know if there was going to even be an attempt on her client's life but considering the reputation of these parties it seemed like it wouldn't even matter if they were after her directly.

She looked out the window of the car as it began to pull up to the location of the mission. It seemed a reasonable place, compared to some of the locations for other missions she had participated in at least. She was used to escorting people through obvious ambush's and while she did have the backup of several other agents from the organization it was a hard job.

"As long as we are careful it should be fine." Serenity spoke as she wondered to herself. If all they had were guns and knives then it wouldn't be a problem for Serenity, the only case where the situation could get ugly was if they managed to hire an assassin of some sort who had powers themselves.

Looking down at her gauntlets she wondered if they would try considering those as weapons. Thinking ahead of that in case the worst came to pass Serenity placed her pocket watch in one of the pockets on her jacket. That would allow her to still use her powers but she would have to be a bit more careful if she got into a brawl. This all was of course the worse case scenario if they didn't allow her in with her gauntlets.

Pulling a pair of gloves over the top or her gauntlets she frowned, it was still clear that they weren't human hands but hopefully this would be enough evidence to convince the security that they were just simple prosthetics. "You ready?" Serenity said as she turned to Sayo and gave her a smile.

Sayo let out a breath and closed her eyes. She’d done her best to prepare and Serenity would protect her for any slip. It was her first time to attend such a hostile party but Sayo couldn’t mess up her crucial task given by her parents. She reopen her eyes and nodded, “Yes.”

Her car slowed and stopped in the building entrance leading up to the lobby. The cars in front and back of her’s had also stopped and passengers got off their vehicle. What was the lobby of a business building was transformed into a luxury hotel entrance. The floor was lined with red carpet and a security team was posted on each end with a couple metal detector doors. There were about a dozen people at the entrance, half of them being guest and the other half was escorts and security.

A man in uniform opened the door of her car for her and she stepped out. She took a few steps to give room for Serenity to also get off the car. The man bowed and Sayo handed him her invitation card. The man took a quick look at it and gestured to the security team at one of the side, “This way, Rie-sama. I apologies for the inconvenience but everyone is must go through security.”

Sayo walked over to the group of men in black suits, some of them busy giving guest metal detection search. The man in the uniform handed them a card and the biggest man looked at it. “Ms. Rie, came alone? It is a shame the rest of your family couldn’t attend. There will be a big show tonight.”

From his mannerism and brash speech pattern, Sayo could tell he was not a regular staff. Mostly likely a member of the Ishii Clan, probably not a blood relative if he was here. Sayo showed no sign to his comment and instead turned to Serenity, “This is my companion for the night.”

“This little girl? Quite a companion, a nice match to the mistress.” The man laughed in amusement, it seems Sayo’s choice of bodyguard did not impressive to him. He continued laughing as he gestured for the two to move inside. “I’m not wasting my time checkin you, Ms Rie. The elevator inside, 35th floor. Ken show them where it is.”

Sayo didn’t mind his reaction or that he was underestimating her since she got to pass without a security check. She could still hear his laughter as walked inside to the lobby which was as beautiful as the outside. The man in uniform, Ken, ran to catch up with her and directed her to the evaluator. He looked nervous, probably because of the security man’s attitude toward Sayo.

An evaluator was already waiting for them and Ken ran ahead to hold the door and press the correct floor. Sayo didn’t change her walking pace, she kept it moderate, it was hard to walk in a kimono and let evaluator wait as she closed the distance.

She entered the evaluator and Ken attempted to enter as well. “You are dismissed. We can go by ourselves.”

“But Rie-sama-” Sayo glared at the unsure man and cut him off. She wanted one more alone time Serenity.

“Leave us.” Ken slowly backed away. He bowed as the elevator door closed and began to descend upward.

OOC: I coloured Sayo's dialogue so it would be easier to distinguish.

Following after her client Serenity's eyes dashed around the lobby checking regularly for any potential security threats. It seemed like they weren't planning on doing anything straight from the get go. That made things a bit easier, she'd have time to make plans herself in case things went bad. Getting to know the area, being able to plot escape routs, taking note of personnel that kind of thing.

A smirk crossed her face as she was underestimated by the security, they clearly had no skill in judgement. She could easily knock them all out in no time flat, however this wasn't that kind of mission. Doing that would constitute a failure so she'd have to refrain from showing them the error in their judgement. At least until they otherwise made a move, if that occurred then they were free game.

Looking around the lobby she had to admit it was quite eye catching, however she was on a mission and couldn't think about it in that kind of light. She had to take note of the tactical advantages that it could give her, after all this could all end up in ruins by the end of the night if it devolved that much.

Watching the elevator door's close Serenity had a quick look around to make sure there weren't any potential cameras. "We are good." She said as she finished her search pleased, there weren't any cameras that she could find but that didn't really mean anything to be reasonable.

"They obviously underestimate us which is a good thing in itself." She spoke quietly just in case there was someone watching them. "They might be a bit less careful which could lead them to slip up." Clenching her hands and then releasing them Serenity took a breath, these kind of jobs were always more anxious then others.

A smile crossed her face, she could only imagine that Sayo was also quite anxious in this situation. Keeping the client calm was as important as keeping herself clear after all. "Don't worry though, I'll keep you safe." It was true, and it wasn't only because of the paycheck being delivered upon completion but because she wanted to make sure that her roommate and friend was not injured. Waiting for the doors to open Serenity wondered what would be on the other side, from what Intel she had received it seemed like it would be rather formal for the start of the party but still, she was curious.

Sayo nodded in agreement, it was good that they were being underestimated. She wished that she could continue to use it for every situation but it would defeat the purpose of her being here. She was to come here and prove that the Rie family is not to be looked down upon. That would be the most difficult part. She have no doubt Serenity would keep her safe but it would be a challenge to impress the Ishii Clan.

“Since I’m here, I should try and enjoy myself then. I hear the Ishii knows how to host a party even if it get out of hand at the end. We might have to leave early.” Sayo spoke softly and then added jokingly, “I believe we do have school tomorrow.”

She was quite interested about the party. The majority of the formal parties she attended was boring with nothing more than talking and toasting. She decided to focus on that aspect and try her best to not let the fact that she’ll be viewed as the enemy. They probably won’t directly use physical attack her, she was prepared to see a lot of attempt blackmail and bribery to ‘persuade’ the Rie family to discontinue their new pursuit.

The elevator door slide opened and they were presented to the famous, or perhaps infamous, Ishii Biyearly Party. Their theme color seem to be red as the lights, flowers and tables were red. She should have figured that out from the color of the carpet on the entrance floor and the red furniture in the lobby. If she’d known the themed color, she would have worn her red muffler. She stepped out of the elevator and glanced around.

Even though she arrived five minutes later than the indicated time on the invitation, almost everyone was already here. The party was full of guests dressed in kimono and western clothes. Men dressed in black suits hovered around, probably personal bodyguards, and men dress in suits but less intimidating were serving drinks and food.

Some of the guest near the evaluator door turned to her direction and to her prediction it was no one she knew. The guests looked surprised and murmured to each other before turning back to her with an amused smile. She smiled back and nodded to them.

A young man in a kimono at the centre of the guest stepped forward and took her hand. He gave her hand a light kiss and looked directly into her eyes and said in a smooth voice, “Welcome to our party, my sweet lady. May I ask for your name? I don’t recognize you, is this your first time attending?”

Sayo didn’t miss the ‘our party’. Already she have met an Ishii but she haven’t seen him in the family picture so he must be someone of no great importance. There were many Ishii members here but the ones she wish to see were few with power and high status.

“Sayo. Sayo Rie. This is a lovely party.” She answered with a sweet smile, curious to see his reaction. She hoped he wasn’t one of the violent members.

His eyes flashed and she could feel his hold on her hand tighten by small fraction. His smile wavered and he slowly let go of her hand. “I didn’t the Rie daughter would be so...young and pretty. On the behalf of my family, I -Okita Ishii- welcome you, Ms Rie. Please have a drink.” He gestured to a waiter who brought drinks, he look one and offered it to her.

“Thank you.” She took the glass of champagne but did not attempt to drink. She didn’t feel like drinking if he was creepily staring at her. She had caught his slip and his attempt to cover up with flattery. She wondered what he truly thought of her and if there was any hostility.

Hearing Sayo make a joke regarding school made Serenity laugh a small bit. She forgot that she had to deal with school now, that'd make some of the late night jobs a no go. An acceptable sacrifice though, especially for a chance at a regular life. She would have to concentrate on being able to keep both of them safe for now to maintain this regular life though, this made her concentrate more so.

As the elevator door's slid open Serenity was a bit taken aback, this was a lot more fancy then some of the events that she had been to previously. It had clearly had a lot more money put behind it then the others, it made Serenity wonder just how the business stayed afloat when it had this much money put into a party.

There were lots of other personal bodyguards like herself hovering around, it was to be expected considering the kind of party that it was. Still, each of them had to be treated as a suspect, in this environment one false move could equal a dead client and she wanted to stop that from happening.

Taking note of the young man that approached Sayo, she readied herself in case they decided to spring an attack instantly. As he simply greeted her client, Serenity relaxed herself. It seemed like the man didn't realize that it was Sayo to begin with, clearly his demeanor swung over to a bit more hostile then it had been previously, however he made no moves that made her had to intervene.

Deciding that it would be good to try and take note of the surrounding area prior to any attempted attacks Serenity decided that now would be a good time to have a look. They would be less willing to attempt anything so early when everyone was reasonably sober and could still realize what happened.

Serenity narrowed her eyes at the man in front of them, she still had to play the role of Sayo's security and had to wait for her permission. Playing the role of the dutiful guard was something that she had some experience in, apart from that she had a bit of a bad feeling about the man in front of them.

Despite not wanting to leave Sayo in the metaphorical wolf's den she had her own job to do. "May I please be excused Ma'am?" She asked Sayo, if she declined then she would stay by her side but this was a good time to get some much needed information.

“Yes.” Sayo replied simply, wondering what Serenity was up to. She was surprised at her request but it seemed important. She studied Serenity, trying to understand what her bodyguard intend to do when she was interrupted by a hand behind her back.

“I’ll make sure your mistress is safe, most of the guard prefer to stay next to the walls and watch from a distance you may go join them.” Okita said, trying to sound reassuring. He turned his attention back to Sayo and said, “The show is about to start. I will escort you to your seat.”

“This is the second mention of the ‘show’. What is so special about it?” Sayo noticed his eagerness as he guided her through the party, the pressure on her back from his hand caused her to walk at a faster pace than she would have liked. She struggled to keep up with his pace as much as her kimono allowed her. She kept her expression unperturbed as she tried to glance back at Serenity.

“You will see very soon. We put quite an investment on it and it was very hard to get them to all come.” The lights turned off and there was the red decoration lights. Conversions quick ceased as people paid attention and the only sound was water from the large fountain. A spotlight shone down on the white spacious area. A man in traditional clothing stood in the spotlight and began to give a introductory speech. “Everyone if you may take your seats, I would like to welcome you to our Biyearly Party….”

Sayo immediately recognized him as the head of the Ishii clan. Sanada Ishii. Her attention was captivated by him and she tried to listen to him while walking. Okita paid no attention and continued to led her. They moved quickly through the crowd of guests and passed the giant water fountain. There were a couple large rectangle tables meant for Ishii’s esteemed family members.

“Okita-san, I can’t sit here.” Sayo whispered and hissed at the same time. It would be insanely improper for her to sit there. Okita looked amused and shook his head. “We have arrange for you to sit with us, Ms Rie.”

He almost have to push for her to move as Sayo politely tried to protest. But he won and she ended up sitting in the middle of the table, a few chairs from where the head will be sitting. The majority of the seats were empty but was steadily being filled. “Since your parents could not attend, I will have the pleasure of sitting with you.”

Okita was surprise Rie’s bodyguard wanted to leave her side. Maybe she wasn’t inform about the unpleasant Ishii-Rie current relationship. Though Rie’s cool response and confidence suggest it was a plan. Nevertheless it was a chance provided to him and would be use it.

He purposely quicken his pace as to distract Rie while he searched across the room. Finding his faithful underling, Bokuto, wasn’t hard and he gestured him. Two fingers pointed to his eyes then at Bokuto then at Rie’s bodyguard. He didn’t care if the little girl saw as long as the mistress didn’t know. Time to get rid of some annoying pieces.

Bokuto bowed at his master’s command and began to make his way over to the little bodyguard. His fast stride would catch up to her in no time. He began to smirk when the lights cut off. The remaining red lights reflected on his white teeth and the whites of his eyes. In the sea of darkness was a red smile and glowing eyes and it moved closer and closer. Until he was close enough for the bodyguard to hear him purr, “Lost little girl? Let me take you where the rest of us wait for our masters.”

Spotlights turned on and gave the room more light and to see his hands were in his pocket as if there was an object. He had stopped walking and was now staring, his stare did not waver from her even when his head master is giving a speech.

"No thanks, I'll pass." Serenity spoke not even looking at the man. She had already drawn out their first piece it seemed, she couldn't help but feel insulted having a simple pawn sent after her. She was a knight after all, worth far more then these simple pawns. She always enjoyed watching the opponent's underestimate her, it happened all to often. It was times like these that she appreciated being a young girl, it made people underestimate her, not that she was the one that the man needed to be worried about. "You know, you don't look so well." Serenity said with her back still to the man. "Perhaps you should lie down."

Suddenly Bokuto would feel incredibly motion sick. He would feel nautious and almost unable to stand up and shortly afterward would feel the incredibly urge to throw up, a smirk crossed Serenity's face. She had seen this before, heck she had experience it before herself. It was not pleasant in any way, shape or form. The amount of times that this had affected her was far to many for her to remember but at the same time it made her into one hell of an agent so she had to thank the person responsible for this.

Sitting at a nearby table with both Sayo and Serenity in line of sight was a man while he was here on his own job he had heard about Serenity's job from Bishop, frankly speaking it was much more interesting then the job he was assigned and he decided he would do some covert assistance. Pressing a finger to his ear he began to talk quietly. "Be more careful would you." A small smile crossed his face as he looked over towards Sayo, they had plans for her for sure. What the plans were though? That was the question.

Moving past Bokuto she slowly moved towards a more advantageous position, it seemed like they were trying to get Sayo among the main family members. This would make trying to dispatch her much easier, her eyes continued to scan the table for any potential weapons or something of a similar nature. As long as she could spot it quickly she'd be able to stop it, she had no doubt about that. Even as a backup she began to charge temporal energy towards her gauntlet, while it took a long time to charge she wanted to prepare in case they tried something.

Unfortunately Sayo had missed the head clan’s speech as he had finished talking and stepped out of the spotlight. She purse her lips feeling like she had missed something important. The spotlight expanded from one spot where the head stood to the full empty space and revealed half a dozen ladies dressed in traditional costumes as they pose. Music started playing and Sayo’s attention was drawn to back of the ‘stage’ where a few more ladies played instrument. On cue, the ladies began to give a play in a form of a dance.

She was stunned by the numbers of geiko performing because it was not easy to hire and arrange for so many to come much less have them perform an elaborate dance. This kind of entertainment by geiko is not cheap, they charge a hefty price especially if they had to travel far to get here. Sayo was not expecting so high scale and wondered how much did the Ishii had to pay. They have to really love Japanese tradition. From the Ishii members she’d seen, they were all wearing kimono and it made her glad that she picked traditional clothes rather than a dress.

As the performance progresses, several more Ishii members sat down and enjoyed the show. The head of the clan have also now taken his seat and he stared curiously at Sayo. She gave him a small bow from where she sat and he returned it with a nod before moving his attention back the show. The performance was magentific and told a humorous story of a foolish man tried to stop autumn and change it back summer.

A plate of appetizer was served to everyone and they happily ate and laugh. Sayo could appreciate the beautiful and precise way geiko perform but she was no where near the level of enthusiasm the Ishii families seem to have.

“Rie-san, who served you champange? I wasn’t aware we served some.” Sanada, head of the clan, asked. Sayo was confused and was about to answer when Okita cut in.

“You and your sake, Sanada-sama. Sake isn’t the only drink here.” Okita send a cautious look to the man. Sanada studied Okita and a look of understanding settled in then he raised an eyebrow. Okita turned away and suddenly interested in his phone.

“Nonsense! Sake is the best. Rie-san, have some sake instead.” Sanada offered. Sayo was no fool, she understood what was going on. Okita had put something in her drink and Sanada didn’t approve. In made her wonder what other food or drink was poisoned.

“Unfortunately, Okita-san, Ishii-sama, I am not of legal drinking age.” Sayo decline but Sanada waved dismissively and laughed then called for a waiter to get her a cup.

“The law does not apply here. Drink!” Sayo accepted cup of sake and hesitated. Sanada have her a stubborn glare and she could see no way out of it. Sayo sip and it was apparently enough as he clap in delight.

“Oi, didn’t you hear-” Bokuto tried to reach for the girl but was hit with a wave of nausea. He stumbled and reach for a table in support. His other hand was covering his face trying to ease the sudden sickness. The girl poisoned him. He cursed and struggled to focus. He had lost sight of the girl. His master won’t be too happy about this. He messily texted him as he made his way to the men’s restroom. A message returned and Bokuto winced.

Several men in suits near the restroom entrance and they noticed Bokuto’s pathetic state. “What happened you, too much to drink?”

“Shut up! Okita-sama has a message.” Bokuto tossed his cellphone at the men and rushed in restroom. They laughed as one of them caught it and read text: Fetch me my things. Serve it to me in my favorite dish.

“You heard Okita-sama, see to it that it’s done!”

"Did you see that?" Serenity spoke as she tapped her ear, the man that had talked to her earlier nodded in response. "Don't worry about that, I'll handle it, stay there and be careful." Serenity nodded keeping her eyes on Sayo and the two men surrounding her, something was definetly up and she wasn't sure what it was but she was prepared for it. If she didn't act quickly enough then it wouldn't matter though so all her focus had to be on the table, ready to act at a moment's notice. Currently it didn't seem as if anything was really wrong, but that just made her be on heightened alert.

The man stood up and walked towards the group of people, strangely enough he was walking a bit strange it was almost like he was drunk. "Ah, hello buddies." He began speaking slurring his words and draping his arms around some of the guards. "W-what's happening.....*hic*..... with you guys?" He was playing his part quite convincingly, at least he thought so. Turning to face another of the guards his face suddenly turned into a snarl. "Hey, I-i know you, y-you slept with my wife." This was the fun part, inwardly he laughed. "How dare you show your face to me..." He spoke as he sent a fist flying towards the guard. If they tried to bring something worse then their fists then he'd be able to easily deal with them.

Serenity noticed all this in her peripheral vision and smiled, it was just like him to cause a ruckus at a fancy party. His job here had already been done so inquiring for his help was a good move on her part. She moved slightly closer to the table, still hiding in the shadows waiting for the family to make their move. She wouldn't be responsible for the first punch but she'd throw her all in on the second one, if she needed. "Just be careful Sayo." Serenity silently thought to herself. A job like this required not only the agent's to be competent but also the client, she believed however that Sayo was capable of handling herself and had a knife as a backup plan.

The play reached it’s climax and music picked up to a faster rhythm. The story continued as the foolish man trick the season god by getting him drunk and was able to prolong summer. The guests, caught in the thrill of the storytelling, did not notice that food was now being served. The first dish, served individually, was a delicate three piece sushi and came with a pair of beautiful sharp chopsticks. Everyone murmured to each other about the performance and agreed that it was one of the best they seen.

“This is truly a great performance.” Sayo spoke softly, complimenting Okita. “The Ishii family value culture alot.”

“I told you the performance would be great. We even hand picked the story, I enjoy the ending very much.” Okita whispered, leaning in and a little closer for Sayo to hear. He stared into her eyes and studied her, wondering if she was a foolish girl or is it just a facade she’s wearing. He will soon find out as he was going to go as far as Sanada-sama allows. Sayo, feeling uncomfortable, gave him a questioning look. He smiled and whispered again, “You do look very pretty, Rie-san.”

Sayo smiled back at the lie and turned her attention back to the play. She wondered if there was a hidden message in the play as it was hand picked. The story seemed harmless enough as it progress the ending: summer continued and the heat was unbearable then was a great fire which burned down everything.

The drunk man’s fist connected with one of the bodyguard and he fell to the ground. He’s friends, all four of them, jumped back and watched awkwardly. One of them laugh nervously, “Made a move on another man’s woman? Serves you right.”

“I did nothing! Who the hell are you?” The fallen man temper flared and reached into his pocket and produced a brass knuckle. He made a fast move, twisting his body up and aiming for the drunk man’s face.

His friends looked at each other in confusion. They decided to not do anything as beating up an drunk man doesn’t require help. This should be entertaining.

Ducking out of the way of the incoming blow as if he was just drunkenly staggering the man took another swing at a different guard this time. "Y-you all think your so tough, fight me already." A number of nearby onlookers began to turn around to observe the spectacle, this was providing a sufficient distraction for Serenity which was good. These four thugs thought they could actually lay a hand on him, he had been dealing with stronger and faster people then them years ago. It was unfortunate for them that this was their place of employment for tonight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Well, well, well." Serenity quietly spoke to herself observing the situation. "Someone seems to be getting a bit to close for comfort." Serenity smirked as she slowly moved herself closer to the table.
It seemed like the head had some honor but the other member, he was potentially trouble. She wasn't letting either of them out of her sight though, that would be a mistake that Sayo could pay for if she made it and she didn't want that.
She took a note of her glove and could see just through the glove that her temporal energy was almost full, if something happened she'd be able to deal with it in a few more seconds which made the situation in her favor, her reach had almost been extended far enough to deal with anyone in the hall.
The play reached it’s end as the foolish man died in the fire along with his town. All the lights were turned off except the for the spotlight which had turned red as the performers began their conclusion dance.
Okita’s eye’s gazed around, looking impatient as if he’s food wasn’t to his pleasing. His eyes fell on Serenity and he frowned. As he moved to leave, Sayo took noticed and followed his angry glare. Not wanting him to go and harm Serenity, she touched his arms and whispered to him, “Where are you going, Okita-san? The play is reaching it’s ending.”
It was rude to inquire but she didn’t want him to leave. Here he could do no harm as the head sat close by. Okita struggled to maintain his polite aura as he debated his options. He had very little to lose. He settled back down to his chair and whispered back, “Rie-san, would you like stepped outside with me?”
“But the play…” Sayo knew it was a bad idea to follow him and it concern her how frank he was. She knew her excuse was a valid one and he couldn’t argue against it. His expression became cold as he took one of his chopsticks and lean in very close.
“Of course, that was an inappropriate request. Come with me outside.” He commanded as he position the chopstick to her torso. He said it so quiet that Sayo had to struggle to hear and then she jerked back. He grabbed her hand and apply a little pressure with the now weapon. She couldn’t feel it as he was pointing it where her obi was, the thick layer of fabric couldn't be penetrated by a measly chopstick even if it was sharp.
Sayo wondered if he knew how impractical his weapon was and she didn’t feel threatened. No one around her noticed as they were savouring the last moments of the play. It was very dark to see what was going on but she knew there was at least one person who is noticing this. She glance to Serenity, silently telling her not to interfere especially in the table.
“F-fine.” Sayo murmured, pretending to sound afraid. Maybe he plan to take her somewhere alone and get rid of her but that can be said the same thing about him. By being alone, she and Serenity can take him out so that she doesn’t have to tolerate his flirting.
He slowly stood up, the chopstick hidden behind his long kimono sleeves, and Sayo obediently followed. It looked like he was helping her out of her seat and the head took notice. Sanada smirked knowingly and mouthed: Impress me.
“Oi!” The other guard angrily protested as the drunk man hit the wrong person and knocked out his friend. It was no longer funny as the drunk man was creating a scene. They would get in trouble if there was disturbance so early in the party. In fact, how can a man be drunk so early? They couldn’t draw out their weapons with the guests looking and the drunk man needed to be shut up right this instant. “Hold him down, we’re throwing you out.”
There was little tolerance and the man was going thrown out thirty stories high. The Ishii family value their party very much. The remaining three guard grabbed the man’s arms and leg in an attempt to toss him out.
They had taken the bait hook, line and sinker. As soon as the man named Okita laid eyes on her he started trying to take Sayo away from the main table. This was good, she could take him out if they went somewhere alone and unguarded, she was also weary though. There was no way that he was making himself the vulnerable on purposes, Serenity tried to think of what his plan was. It could be a multitude of different things so what was it actually.
Slinking back into the shadows out of sight Serenity continued to follow the pair, she wouldn't be so easily spotted this time. After all, getting the drop on this guy was key to keeping it quick and quiet, he also seemed to be the one that was mainly interested in getting rid of Sayo. If he was taken out of the picture hopefully no one else would have such low standards as to try and get rid of Sayo when she was an invited guest.
"Sorry laddies, but I don't think you are." An Irish accent came out to respond to them. He wasn't pretending to be drunk anymore but suddenly all the people around him would feel unusually intoxicated. He wasn't about to be thrown out of the tower by the guards, pulling back away from them he looked around to see the effects of his power to see if they could still stand
The three guard lost their hold on the strange foreign man as they senses were messed up. They noticed a little too late it was trapped. They stumbled around, their colorful language slurred together and they surged forward to only fall to the ground. One of them, the tallest one, reach out to grap the man’s feet.
“Seereehmmty.” Another tried to call for reinforcement before passing out though it came out more like a moan.
A group of men in suits lay either unconscious or incapacitated before the strange man.
“This is very rude.” Sayo scolded lamely, she couldn’t find the right words as she have never been treated in such undignified way. Okita paid no attention to her as he lead them to side of the room where it leads to numbers of large glass doors lined the wall. His friendly demeanor was replaced with haughty attitude as he disregard the Rie heir and roughly pulled her along. The treatment slightly angered her.
The glass door was draped with heavy red curtains so that the outside could not be seen. They stopped in front on the heavy curtains and Sayo noticed, amusingly, that he couldn’t push back the heavy fabric and open the door while restraining her. It didn’t seem to bother him as he nonchalantly signaled a nearby waiter by waving the chopstick at his hindered path, before positioning in it’s previous place, and order, “Open this.”
Sayo would have found it hilarious that he still consider the chopstick a threat to her if she wasn’t so mad. The waiter did as he was told and they slipped outside to the garden balcony. A gush of wind blew in her face and her vision was obscured by her disarrayed hair. The garden is windy due to situated height and chilly from the late night. The wind blew in another direction and her hair moved away from her eyes. In front of her was two people standing, one had an annoyed expression and the other had a disappointed look.
Okita and Sayo move to behind the two so that they were closer to the window. They formed a perfect triangle with two meter apart from each other. The annoyed female spoke first as electricity occasionally sparked around her, “I came cause the show was stupid and you told there will be a fight. I’ve been waiting for five minutes! Wheres the action?”
“You made me miss the show, that thing you promised better be good. You hear? Okita. I really wanted to see it! ” The other one grumbled, looking truly sad. Sayo couldn’t help but add into the conversation, “That’s shame, it was a great performance. You might be able to see a little of it if you back inside now.”
“Will you shut up about the show, Gin. And it’s not stupid, Misaka, Sanada-sama will have your head if you said that to him.” Okita growled and tighten his gripped on Sayo’s hand, making her wince. Gin made a face and Misaka rolled her eyes.
“What do you intend to do?” Sayo ask. There was no way he’ll just kill her, even if she was a rival, they won’t outright kill her, would they?
“Oh, did you catch Sanada-sama little message? I’m going to impress him. We’re waiting for that pesky friend of yours to show up.”
“Why, Okita-san, I believe Ishii-sama was talking to me!” Sayo said, in a mocking tone. Okita expression became pure fury and his hold on her hand was so tight, she almost didn’t hold back her cry. She knew her retort was a mistake when he spoke, despite his heated expression, in a cold voice, “I don’t think that smart, Rie-san. I have an impression that you’re underestimating me.”
Then he plunged the chopstick into her stomach. Sayo choked and gasped as he let go of her and she fell to the ground. One arm prompting her up so that she wasn’t complete flat in an unsightly manner and a hand on her stomach where the chopstick protrude from. Her long hair covered her expression. It couldn’t be, silk can’t be easily penetrated. The thick fabric so how? “E-enhanced strength?”
“How highly you think of me now! Unfortunately no, you would find that all Ishii members are quite athletic and our servants more so.” Okita gestured to the two. Misaka who ‘che’d, clearly not acknowledging his authority.
