War Form

Occupation:
Student
(Fallen) Forebringer of Progress

Grade Level:
10th

Powers/ Abilities:

Sacred Tech
Some people who favor a split with divinities argue that gods and religions tend to inhibit the march of society. Naturally, as the Forebringer of Progress, Vert is a repudiation of this. Vert is, in fact, a gadgeteer genius of sorts, albiet only to her technology.

As a goddess, she naturally has access to divine power, even as weakened a it is right now. She, however, expresses it through her magitech, known as 'Sacred Tech'. Due to her strange nature, she's the only one who can actually use it; it will malfunction if anyone else tries to use it, since it relies on her divine power to work.

Anyone trying to reverse engineer her technology will find that it resembles magitech in most ways, but the design has severe alterations that would 'ruin it'.

Most of her offensive technology is summoned when she enters her 'War Form', which is an instant transformation. She may make everyday conveniences, such as appliances, with time.

Spear of Advancement
A spear that appears to be a typical 'laser spear'; a powerful spear in its own right. The catch is, as it is powered by her own divinity, it counts as a holy weapon. On its own, the holy nature is simply the 'power source' rather than any enchantment that adds additional power, save that a strike with the spear is treated as magical damage rather than physical.

Holy here, however, is a bit different from its usual connotation. While the wounds and effects could generally be compared to holy weapons of other deities, holy damage from Vert is particularly effective against beings who could be considered 'sins against progress'. This usually refers to artificial creations, such as artificial humans, heavily gene modded individuals, virus zombies, robots, golems, and the like. Necromancy zombies, unless they are particularly of some 'progressive' note (such as with Frankenstein-esque zombies) are unaffected. Note that they must either be evilly aligned in order to be considered unholy by her weapon's standards.

Against these groups, the weapon has enhanced power. The first is that a strike to this group deals 150% normal damage, the wounds having a distinctive. The second is that those wounds are twice as hard to heal or repair. Such a being can still heal them through auto-repair routines, magic, or a healing factor; it's simply harder. Note that if damage that can be healed normally is present on the enemy, that will be healed first. Finally, if the being could be considered evil because of a computer virus or a hacker.

Vert has no particular skill with her weapon, considering she's never actually had to fight before, but she has enough talent at it to where she could learn rather quickly, if she puts the effort into it (read: if she spends a season upgrade on it).

Carapace of Progress
It doesn't do much in terms of armor, to say the least; however, it gives her physical abilities that could be considered to be 'Olympian' in scope. The weakness is that it only tends to help with the purely physical aspects, and does minimal to help with the mental aspect. While she can run as fast as any real life human could, she becomes particularly vulnerable to tripping. While she can jump backwards well, she doesn't have the coordination to do much in way of gymnastics. She can strike hard with her spear with her strength, but doesn't possess any special amount of dexterity or eye-hand coordination.

Modern Technology
Vert is capable of making a Sacred Tech equivalent to most modern day conveniences. Need a toaster? Vert can make one. What about a TV? Vert's got you covered. It suffers from the same weaknesses her main tech does; she has to be aware that you're using, or at least think you might be using it, for it to work. So if she goes out somewhere, and you come back to turn on her TV, it won't work... unless you called her to tell her you were going to use it. While her spear and such will only work for her, otherwise, this will work for anyone.

Equipment You Have:
Spear of Advancement
Carapace of Progress

Fudo

Personality Description:
Normal: Vert tends to be mellow and cheerful. While she can seem a bit airheaded at times, she tends to be methodical and exacting, and something of a perfectionist. She also tends to be something of a prankster. Her short term plans and plans for her goals tend to be exacting; however, she's in no rush to actually make plans. She, however, has a strong work ethic and perseverance.

She's rather friendly and humble. Even if she regained her old powers, she'd insist on being treated normally.

War Form: Vert's personality changes dramatically in her War Form. While not especially violent, she becomes somewhat chilly and serious. She tends to be single-minded on whatever she tries to accomplish, and is willing to make sacrifices. At times, she can come across as somewhat arrogant.

Personal History:
There are many varieties of deities, with a variety of origins. Some simply were, others are ascended mortals, some came into existence simply because people believed they existed. The Forebringers, however, have a source in human psychology.

When the ancient greeks speculated on society, a few philisophical orders formed, and formed theories on the perfect world. Eventually, during the conquests of Alexander the Great, these ideas would be spread. Arguements cropped up, and the views finally gave form and power to humanity's primal emotions and desires from what the world should be like, and four goddesses appeared, called the Renewers. Their desire was to create a new world.

-Noire Blackheart was the Renewer of Utopia. She wished to create a world where nobody has the slightest shred of evil, beyond what was absolutely necessary. She represented the human desire for goodness.
-Plutia Purpleheart was the Renewer of Unity. She wished to create a world where individuality is minimized, thus reducing crime and the like, and allowing people to work together to build the world. She represented the human desire for predictability.
-Blanc Whiteheart was the Renewer of Paradise. She wished to create a world of abundance; where nature provided humanity with every basic need it wanted or needed.
-Vert Greenheart was the Renewer of Progress. She wished to create a world of progress; where an intellectually mighty humanity could create whatever it needed or wanted. She represented human ingenuity and drive.

With a single spell, they created a trap for the power of discarded emotions they couldn't gather themselves. With it, they interceded to create a world that would fit their vision. The problem was they each had different vision, so they devised a complex game, where they nudged the world in vague ways, each contributing points to their objective. If someone hit 0 points, they'd die. If they hit a certain score, they would get to choose how the world would be created.

Vert, however, eventually realized that humanity was capable of progressing with or without a new world. Not only that, but she eventually realized that it was intolerable to destroy the world, even if it was to create a better one.

Vert changed her tactics to one of control. There was no guarantee she would win conventionally; however, she realized she could efficiently build her 'taps and resources' in a way that was more constructive for preventing other Renewers from winning than winning herself. In this way, she was able to keep people from winning for almost two millenia.

She eventually was caught, however, and they teamed up to take her down. She, however, was subtly able to divert her taps and resources to changing the rules of the game in her favor. These rules dictated that rather than dying, she'd lose most her power and memories, and fall to Earth. She intended to eventually remember, and bring human forces to stop the other Renewers by force, since the game would be over if all the other active Renewers were forced out or died before it ended.

And her point eventually hit 0, and she was cast out, and landed in Hyakuji, only remembering her name, and the last line she heard before falling "You lose, Vert."

Mashed Potatoes? There's no spoons! There's never any spoons! Spoons are just a myth!
