A bare-chested, muscular figure strides through the front gates and into crowds of milling brown-blue masses, teeth almost glinting in anticipation, feathery hair blowing in the breeze. This place is new. This place is different. This place might be a challenge, this place might be a little more satisfying.

Barging past shorter students, the new presence gladly jabs his elbows into students who try to move near him, gladly inviting their irritation. One of them surely had to be stupid enough to take him on. Everybody hates people who look different, right? And if one thing's for sure, he sticks out a like a sore thumb. And rather literally, given his permanently inflamed appearance.

"Yup, just me, the new guy, comin' through, don't mind m--Oh, whoops, I'm sure you can get a new book or whatever~"

It's a blatant attention grab. Gigailoves it, his cocksure grin widening with every glare he receives. He might get to fight one of them, or maybe all of them at once! Awesome!

What is this thing?
David let out a loud yawn as he walked towards the school gates. "Life is good" he thought to himself. And why wouldn't he think that, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and no one was trying to take over the world (at least not right now).
The day seemed to be turning out to be a good one until he heard a cocky voice say "Oh, whoops, I'm sure you can get a new book or whatever~"
David frowned "Oh wonderful" He looked at the owner of the voice. "Hmm don't recognise him, must be a new student" He watched as the tall orange skinned newcomer met every glare he received with a grin. "Better try to defuse this before someone does something stupid". He walked over to the taller youth "Hey there mate". He said cheerfully with a smile on his face "You wont be making any friends that way, so I'm going to have to ask you to stop". He asked polity, doing his best to resolve everything without an incident.

Spinning to face the source of the (disappointingly, sigh~) polite protests, the phoenix's bright white pupils examine him like a piece of meat, travelling up and down his form, the sharp grin never leaving Gigai's face. This guy... Kinda sounds like he works in an office or something. Boring. Time to give him a figurative poke.

One hand on his hip, the taller figure quickly and casually points to David, noting his presence but completely ignoring his request.

"Yeah, uhh, hey, kid, what do you do here? Just a question. Y'know. Meeting and greeting."

"Ahh good he's stopped being confrontational" David thought to himself. He held out his hand for a handshake "Names David Mason, I'm a student similar to yourself, and no its not my job to greet new students I just thought I would warn you to stop trying to cause trouble". He dropped his smile "You're new here, you have powers and think you can take on the world, I get it" He told the new arrival his voice gone grave and serious. "I'm no stranger to combat myself but I feel I should warn you that there are some serious fighters here and I would rather you not get hospitalised on your first week here".
He shrugged "But you do whatever you want, so long as you don't try that bullying crap against my friends we should get along just fine". He then smiled at the other student, but it wasn't one of his carefree smiles. It was a cold smile that was full of teeth and didn't quite reach his eyes. "And if you do, well then you better watch your back".

Now David wasn't usually so hostile with strangers but the newcomer managed to annoy him with his careless disregard of the other students and he felt that he should remind him that he wasn't the only gifted person here.

Now he's excited. Now he's really excited. He's almost getting tingles in anticipation, he wants this place sooooo badly, he's wanted it for years but he never knew. A dumb, forward-staring, blissful look on his face, he takes the nature of this place in.

"I think I'm in love..."

Clearing his throat, he shakes the stardust clouding his mind out. He has to focus. He has to get somewhere. He has to find the one person he so desperately wants to lose to. And then he'll work, and win, and lose, and win again. It's a fantasy.

"So uhh, bad first impression aside, just how tough do the guys here get?"

He's rubbing his hands together, fidgeting, beaming. He can barely contain himself.

David looked at the newcomer quizzically, wondering why someone would seek out strong fighters with such zeal. Umm, well I think the strongest student in the school is Seth Ryoga-sempai in fourth year", He racked his brains trying to recall whatever he could on the most prominent fighters in the school. "I think he has strength, speed, endurance, the whole superhuman thing". He tilted his head to the side "I actually think every one of the fourth years are pretty powerful, as a matter of fact the older students are usually much more powerful than the younger ones"
He thought over the people he knew specifically. "The strongest person I know personally is Ken-sempai in year three, but I still haven't figured out what his power is, all I know is that its pretty versatile". He looked back at the orange-skinned male "If you're planning on having a scrap be sure to have it away from school grounds" He laughed sheepishly and scratched the back of his head "The teachers don't take too kindly to students with superpowers destroying the school-grounds." He winced from personal memory of his own first fight as a student here.

"Destroyi--"

That's it. He has to become like them. He has to become strong enough to tear the whole place down and rebuild it a hundred times over. Even if it takes him years, he has to do it. But... Enthusiastic as he is, he knows these things take time. He has to learn, so it's a good thing that's exactly what he's here for! Eyes a little wide in wonderment at what the people around him can do (although moreso at what he could someday become), every hair on his body bristles with excitement. His dream has gained some context, and with it it has expanded into something grander.

"AWESOME. Perfect. Literally perfect. Flawless. So, uhh, what's your year?"

He's rocking on his heels. He can't take this. This is all too much, too fast, no, correction, this is enough, this is finally enough.

"Someone's excited." David thought to himself stepping back from the nearly bouncing teen. "Whoa whoa, easy big fella I'm only a first year." David told the taller youth while putting up his hands in a placating gesture.
"I'm a long-range fighter anyway." He kept his hands up and began subtly gathering power just in case the overly excited brawler tried something. "I'm sure there are some other students willing to have a scrap with you after school if you just ask them, and if you cant find anyone I think there are some monsters skulking around Hyakuji forest that could always use a beat-down". He cast his eyes around looking for a familiar face in case the orange-skinned blood knight decided that he wanted to try something against him.

Monsters. That's it. He is officially too excited. He doesn't know how he lived before he heard about this place but he knows that it was, comparatively, awful. Dreary. Meaningless. Nothing...y.

"Uh-huh cool yeah great let's talk about the monsters, tell me more about those. Big ones? Tough ones? Ones that hide or straight-up MONSTERS, things that stalk around in the night and eat dumb kids and get killed by people who become legends?"

He's already planning. He has to kill one. Is he allowed to? He really, really hopes he's allowed to. The toughest guys are probably killing monsters all the time, turning them inside-out just by flexing at them. Incredible.

"All kinds" David answered. "I think that somewhere deep in the forest is a portal to the Makai, that's the demon world if you're wondering." He shrugged "That's what I've heard anyway".
He brought his hand to his chin "Kinda wanna go there myself when I get stronger, just to see what its like, but not right now. He shivered "Some of the stronger demons would rip me apart easily". He looked at the hot-blooded brawler "Get some experience at fighting the monsters on the outskirts of the woods before you head deeper, oh and bring something so that you can find your way back if you do decide to go". He looked the other student straight in the eyes "I'm serious, people have gotten lost in there before, or so I've heard".
He shrugged again "But like a said do whatever you want, just don't cause trouble for me or my friends and we'll get along fine."
