Character Name: Alias: Tachibana Sayaka, Saya, DAEDALUS-03 Gender: Female Age (Apparent): 14 Age (Actual): ??? Height: 149cm Weight: 41kg Birthday: 4 June Blood Type: AB Personality Type: ISTP CV: Kitamura Eri Occupation: Student Year Level: First Dorm Residency: Yuki Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Schedule: Homeroom Teacher: Lavender 1) The Arts 2) History 3) Cooking Equipment You Have:
Powers/ Abilities: Daedalus Series IV Air Armament Service Combat Cyborg, S/N: SORA-2010611C76OJ As a young girl, she was found to have a high aptitude for fighting, and a natural compatibility with several new technologies developed for combat cyborgs. Ignoring the protests of her family, she was converted under the direction of project Daedalus as an air-combat type artificial mage. The final product was a living body whose skeleton and muscles were completely replaced with artificial implants and a significantly altered internal chemistry and structure to allow a seamless meld of organic tissue and machinery. A special implant unit channels and regulates her Linker Core output, powering her internal electronics and abilities. Due to the nature of the augments, her body is locked at the state she was in when she was converted.
Personality Description: Seemingly quiet and reserved, Sayaka has an air of maturity and sensibility (and melancholy) about her that stems from her long term combat experience and life in the Machine Empire's Air forces. She doesn't like using her abilities for things she doesn't believe in, but devotes herself to a task if she thinks it's worth doing. Her manner of speaking is rather casual, but usually polite, if rather dry and jaded. She's fairly calm most of the time, but can be easily worked up by callousness and negligence, especially regarding children or bystanders. Having been forced to fight at a young age, she rather dislikes being confrontational, but will press a matter if she believes it needs to be addressed, and isn't afraid to use her abilities to get her way. Despite the perceived maturity however, she's actually rather playful and childish, but maintains her airs due to necessity. Because she never got a chance to spend much time with others, she's devoted to those she's close to, and can sometimes be seen as clingy or overly attached. Not very proud of her service to the empire, she doesn't openly talk about it, but will admit to it if asked. Though regretful of the deaths she caused both directly and indirectly, she still zealously guards the memory of her old friends and comrades. She is however, rather sensitive about being a cyborg, and still considers herself 'human.' Traits: Favourite Food: Chocolate Parfait Theme Colours: Grey, Navy Blue Talents: Flying, Fighting, Battlefield Management, Predicting Trajectories Hobbies: Flying, Humming, Rhythm Games Likes: The sky, flying, old music, Dislikes: Parental negligence, violence, herself, callousness Defining Trait: Effort Misc. Personal History: ![]() "Are you feeling well? I was glad when Doctor Clover said there weren't any complications." "I'm still exhausted..." "That's natural. Your body has to adjust to the changes afterall." "Mama... you look tired too." "Ah, don't worry about that. It's natural for parents to fret over their children." A thin, subdued smile. It was always like that. That woman never smiled openly, but only in thin, guarded ones that she could hide from others. "I see..." the girl said thoughtfully "I'm sorry that I worried you, mama..." "No, I should be the one sorry. In the end, I couldn't change things for you. It's regrettable that I couldn't even do that much..." "No, it's okay." The younger girl smiled. She'd never learned the same restraint her mother had, but perhaps, the older woman thought, it was for the best. "I know mama did her best too. So please, don't worry too much okay? I'll do my best too, for both us from now on..." "Well then, let's begin the Aerial Combat training program. I'm Lieutenant Rosa, and I'll be your trainer for today. I'm sorry, I'm kind of new at this, but I do have combat experience so you'll be in good hands. I'm bad with formal protocol, so let's just speak casually alright?" "Okay." "There's no need to be so tense. Your mother pulled some strings to get me assigned here you know. Your previous evaluators said you were a natural at air combat. These are some amazing scores here." "Thank you." she blushed "You're cute when you act shy. Anyway because of the nature of the Air Armament Corps, when you go out there, you'll be alone most of the time, so there's something you must always keep in mind." "I'll do my best." "The first lesson is this - the most important thing is to come back alive. Your mother taught that to all of us. Never forget it." ![]() "The sky here looks so bleak... is this really what it's like beyond the control zones?" "Don't get distracted Saya, this isn't training anymore. Carelessness here means death." "Right, sorry. Beginning mission now." ![]() "Kindly drop your weapon. No one has to get hurt." "I'll never surrender to a monster like you!" "That's a terrible thing to call someone..." "That level of performance is absurd! What else could you be?!" "Please, just drop your device, you don't have to die here..." "If I give up I'll die anyway! I don't want to become like you, a traitor who hunts down her own kind!" "...A traitor?" "You're all traitors, your whole damned unit! If I lose then... no, even if your specs are higher, I won't lose to you or that idiot might die too!" "No, wait! Stop! Please don't do this!" "Great job the other day. Heard you got two more. Brings you up to 22 now doesn't it?" "Just one. The other dropped her weapons and disengaged." "Didn't go after her?" "There wasn't a reason to. She wasn't a threat anymore and I'd have had to leave my patrol zone." "So responsible. In anycase their assaults have been getting closer to the power grid lately. The automated defences are getting overwhelmed, so we're going to have to step up patrols." "...I feel exhausted already." "Don't we all." "Tch, I knew they'd come but, this soon..." "Well bad news is you're going to have to intercept. You're the only one in position to protect that power plant. If it gets taken offline, the whole region shuts down." "I understand. Against just this many... I should be able to defend this myself. Beginning mission." "Good hunting." "Please disengage. You don't have to drop your weapon, but I'd rather you not get in the way of my mission." "Unfortunately for you, Cyborg, that ship has hundreds of people aboard, so I can't let you get any closer that this." "I'm not about to let hundreds of additional troops make it to the battlefield." "Troops? Is that what they're calling them now? Man I knew you machines were out of your minds but do you come with preinstalled delusions too?" "What are you talking about?" "Those aren't soldiers, they're refugees trying to leave this hellhole!" "And why should I believe that?" "You have eyes don't you? I know you can see that far if I can. Hell I'll even lower my weapon so you can look all you like, but those aren't soldiers!" "I'm sorry, but now I'm afraid I can't let them leave. If they surrender peacefully, I assure all of you that I will make sure none of you are harmed." "And what, be converted? Yeah I think I'd rather die with this in my hands." "You didn't have to kill them Para! They surrendered!" "Yeah, so? Can't be too sure." "I promised them they wouldn't be harmed if they gave up!" "Well no, you promised them that YOU wouldn't harm them, and you kept up your end right?" "Do you even understand the implications of what you just said?" "Look, just because you promised it doesn't mean the rest of us have to care." "You..." "Look we stopped the ship, that's what counts right?" "I don't think I can forgive you after saying that...' "Oh what are you going to do about it? sho- HEY! you could have hit me!" "I'll make sure not to miss next time then." "Turning traitor now eh? Oh I'm going to enjoy this!" "You sure were hard to find. You realise you've been listed as MIA for over a month now right?" "Go home Eryth, this place doesn't have anything to do with you or the war anymore." "You always were a softy. I take it you didn't hear then? Well, I suppose you've been busy just staying alive." "Heard of what?" "It's all over now. The capital fell, and your mother surrendered the regiment to the humans. She's on trial now actually." "What!?" "She sent me to find you herself. She's agreed to plead guilty to whatever charges they want to pin on her in exchange for amnesty for the remaining cyborgs." "That's..." "Probably our only chance to survive the war, should be the rest of that sentence." "..." "Yeah, I know. But if she didn't surrender, they probably would have overrun the position and killed everyone. Things got pretty bad after you left and they let Para do whatever she wanted." "But still..." "Look, the humans don't really think of us as anything but things to shoot anymore. I mean, we worked well because we looked the same. We were the same. Now they just see traitors and want us all dead. They sure didn't like you either even after you deserted and blew up Para's entourage." "But mother isn't even a cyborg." "That's what makes it worse for her, she doesn't get excuses like we do. She can always claim we were brainwashed or conditioned against our will. Well, I imagine they had bad things in mind for her from the start." "Mother..." "Come on Saya, let's go home. I'm just as tired of this as you arem and she probably wants to see you before they hang her or something." ![]() "It's good she was able to find you afterall." "Eryth is pretty reliable like that." "I know, it's why I sent her specifically. I'm glad I get to see your face again after this long." "It sure has been awhile since we got to talk." "Yeah... I really am proud of you, you know." "Proud of me? For what? I deserted the Army after that incident with the ship, we're seen as monsters by the other people, you're going to be executed, everything is going wrong..." "That you managed to grow up well despite having someone like me as a parent. That you managed to reach your own conclusions and have your own sense of morality, not just one you copied from others." "No, I learned all that from you." "Heh... you sure know how to make someone feel less bad about being a terrible parent." "But you weren't terrible." "No, it's alright. I know it was pretty bad objectively, and I regret it somewhat. I'm sorry I couldn't be around for you, and that I didn't get to do much for you or give you a better future. Though I'm glad that in the end, you didn't waste the one gift I could give you." "Gift?" "Yes. When you were going to be converted, all I could do was try to put you under the experimental programs. Daedalus was aimed at letting converted people keep their sense of self. Annie justified it to them as giving you better combat instincts rather than wasting it by emulation, but... I think of it as a gift she wanted people to keep. A gift I wanted you to keep when it was clear they would override my objections." "A gift..." "Yes. To keep your mind and sense of self... I think, that's the greatest gift you can still get in this world. I'm glad you didn't waste it. And I'm glad at least some of those girls could keep theirs as well. Even if it wasn't much, I wanted to do what little I could for all of you." "I don't understand why you can't let it go Para! There's no guarantee that machine even still works, it's more likely to just blow up and kill everyone for miles!" "And I really never understood why you cared so much." "Don't do this, it isn't worth it." "To you maybe, but you know... I really never liked people to begin with, so even if all it does is leave a smoking crater, that's fine with me." "You've gone insane..." "Hehehe, you really think so?" "Turning back time to resurrect a dead idea is pointless." "Oh my, how little you understand, I'm not doing this to get the empire back or anything... I just want to go back and destroy this stupid little world before they suspect a thing." "I wont let you do that..." "So you're really going into get in my way? Hehehehe..." "I know you probably still dont understand, but I'm going to fight to show you the error of your ways regardless!" ![]() "Hehehe... cornering me this far... I didn't think a Daedalus model could. My specs are much higher than yours afterall." "Eryth, Marc and the others will be here soon. You're the only one left. It's over." "Or I can just turn this thing on as it is and see what happens." "That is-" "Too late. Nice try though~ I'll see you on the other side~" "So you're awake. Or seem it at least." "Mmmnn..." "You can talk right? You've been unconscious for at least week now. You're pretty lucky... and interesting. A full cyborg conversion... that's pretty rare. I've never seen half the tech they used to make you." "...Doctor Clover? Is that you?" "Oh... So you know my name? Very interesting..." Born in one variation of the aborted future, the child between a magus, and a monster. Brought into the world in an age of war, she had a natural talent for battle despite being raised in as peaceful an environment as could be arranged. Against her parents' wishes, the administration converted her into a combat cyborg. While her mother had a position as a colonel of the ground forces, her father met his end while resisting the great purge. The young girl, forced to become a soldier, was trained in the art of war and brought into the Air Armament Service to counter the remaining special ability users of the human resistance, particular air combat specialists. Though effective, the humans slowly gained the advantage, and ultimately she deserted the Machine forces after one of the less stable cyborgs destroyed a large human contingent that she had already convinced the surrender. Ultimately, she survived the war after the final resolution and surrender of the machines after her mother agreed to be a scapegoat in exchange for consideration for the cyborg soldiers who fought for the machines. She wouldn't get to enjoy the amnesty for long however, as some of the cyborgs instead chose to reconstruct an experimental time machine in a gamble to win the war (despite the previous machine failure to capitalise on their previous attempt). Fearing the worst, she agreed to sortie one more time in order to stop it. With the battle raging around the machine soon damaging it beyond any hope of safe operation, the renegade cyborgs activated it regardless. She doesn't recall what happened after that, only that she had apparently found herself at a time before the tech singularity that resulted in the Machine Empire, and with a very uncertain future. Mashed Potatoes? Are irrelevant. The proof of innocence is clearly going to be in the pudding. Edited by Katyusha, Jan 14 2015, 05:28 AM.
