Her first job in Hyakuji and it was looking for a missing cat. A MISSING CAT, even though she was normally laid back this was unacceptable. Someone of her talent and skill was not sent after a missing cat. That was what missing posters were for, Serenity grumbled under her voice as she looked around the district for the damned creature. "I swear, i'm going to have several choice words with Bishop when I finish this." She grumbled as she continued walking around.

She was excited when she heard that she had gotten a new job, only to find out it was to look for someones pet that had run off. She understood why the job was passed to her but still it was infuriating. Unfortunately if she wanted more tasks to be given to her she had to prove herself as a good agent to the people in Hyakuji. She could only do that be completing requests, no matter how below her skill level they were.

"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, YOU DAMNED CAT?" Serenity shouted in frustration, taking a few deep breaths she composed herself fixing up her clothes so that she looked professional. Ignoring the stares of the confused and frightened onlookers she continued forward. She was determined to find this damned feline that was putting her through so much annoyance.

It was always intriguing for him to take a wild look at the game related wares that The Otaku Kingdom provided. The merchandise was always of good quality, and more importantly, once in a while he'd see old consoles in working state just looking at the distance, waiting for someone to grab them and travel to the past. He sighed as he left the store, knowing that his pockets were empty and that even if he got a part time job, by the time that he was able to get enough money for the NES it would have been already gone.

Painfully, he made his way towards the bus stop, feeling each step as if it was his last, after all, he knew that it was the last tie that he'd see that specific model in that store, maybe he'd get another chance later, but for the moment it was a small personal tragedy for the teenager.

A sudden rustle coming from behind him distracted him from his current worries, he turned around, attempting to gauge the situation as quickly as he could. His efforts and concerns, however, were for naught, as a flying fluffball slammed itself against his face before scuttling away directly to his back. He could not help but feel some slight disappointment at the thought of it being just a cat, after the incident with Bocky, he had been growing more confident, and itching for something to use his powers on.

He stifled a giggle meant for himself, who would have thought that someone as different from him as Bocky was would be the one to help him out of his shell, he even gestured with his face occasionally since then.

Nevertheless, before he went to deep into his thoughts, the voice of another person distracted him from his own thoughts once again, apparently someone was looking for the cat that had just inconvenienced him. He made his way towards the person that was shouting to the top of their lungs, and asked a simple question.

"Is that a brown and white cat you are looking for?"

A nice and easy day, that's what she wanted. A bit of breeze would be nice, maybe even a light rain once she got back to the dorm. She was on her way to Otaku Kingdom for sine character snacks, cookies that were made from the shapes of characters starring in a certain show. She had come to like the show, managing to watch it every day as it aired. Making her way at a moderate speed, Valentine had a goal, a goal she didn't want to stray from. Instead of wearing her usual formal suit, Valentine decided to throw on something more casual, yet unusual outfit today.

"I should wear this more often," Valentine said to herself, feeling rather comfortable in it. Truly it had been a while for Valentine to wear something different, the most recent change being the formal outfit. Though that was to keep the professional look that came with the job she know had, working in her office through the days after school. Having this time off was great, it allowed her to get out and explore again. Once the three work on upgrading the systems for VeNM-KC, it'll be automated but under guidance of the three so she will have even more free time when that day comes.

Just then, Valentine heard someone shouting, stopping and looking to see a young woman being stared at by others. Another had approached her, possibly attempting to start something as she didn't hear anything that was going on other than the outburst from the former. Instead of breaking up a potential fight, Valentine decide to sneak in a bit closer and listen in on what was going on.

"Yes it is." Serenity sighed as she noticed the approaching boy. A quick smirk crossed her face as she looked him up and down, he wasn't exactly bad on the eyes. Unfortunately, however she was on a mission so behavior of that nature would be most unprofessional and therefore withheld.

"If you'd be kind enough to show me where it is I'll happily reimburse you for your troubles." Getting outside help was a bit irritating but in this situation she could spend ages hunting down the cat and having no luck and she wanted to get this job over and done with as quickly as possible. She was willing to split her paycheck for that, besides if he pointed her in the direction she'd be able to catch the damned feline.

Adjusting her gauntlets she waited for the boy's response. She noticed that a fair few of the bystanders had continued on their regular days work apart from one who was still observing her. Serenity didn't bother calling the watcher out or anything because she hadn't proven herself to be a danger yet. "Whether it be financial recompense or .... something more, if you ask nicely." She quietly and seductively whispered in the boy's ear. There was no harm in having a bit of a fun time, especially considering the mission was a joke to begin with.

As he had suspected, it seemed that the girl was, in fact, looking for the cat that he had seen in question. He was quickly approached by the girl, who eyed him with curiosity, he took a step back, not used to being observed straightly and directly. Nevertheless, he had initiated the conversation, and, at the very least, he had to stay to listen to what the girl had to say about the subject at hand.

There was a quick talk about getting reimbursed for his troubles. He glanced at the direction he was coming from, Surely, if it was solved quickly, The Otaku Kingdom would be waiting with his prize in tow. Mentally he counted his own savings doing the math to count the amount he was lacking.

Finding a missing cat, especially one that he saw running did not seem that hard of a job admittedly, it wasn't entirely unlikely that the reward money wouldn't be enough to buy anything substantial, however, if nothing else he could have the satisfaction of having helped another person, and a bit more to add to his won bank account was always a plus, a yen was a yen and it was more than no yen after all.

As he wandered into his own thoughts, he noticed that the girl had gotten closer to him, to the point of being able to whisper into his ear. He froze in place, as he did, the image of a certain pink haired girl he hadn't seen in a long time came to his mind. He grit his teeth, reacting to the memory, and backed off slightly, a small blush visible in his cheeks regardless.Trying to play it off as a joke he spoke to the girl.

"You surprised me there for a second. We'll see about the reimbursement after we find the cat, for now, last I saw him, he jumped right over me in that direction, few seconds ago.

He pointed directly back from where he was coming, towards te place where the cat had supposedly ran off.

Valentine continued to watch, being as quiet as possible not to alert them of her presence. The girl she was watching told the young man that she'd reimburse him if he helped her look, then moving in to whisper in his ear. It didn't seem like they were fighting at all, it looked like they were plotting something. Whether it was to attack Hyakuji or someone, Valentine didn't really care. Attempting to lean in to listen, Valentine knocked over a nearby trashcan that would alert them of her presence, Valentine standing up and looking around. "Sorry about that, I seemed to have dropped my....uh...my wallet. I was walking along and thought it might have fallen over here," Valentine said, making a horrible excuse and she knew it, mentally groaning as well at the horrid lie. Nonetheless, she kept her cool to make it sound as real as possible but she wasn't kidding anyone.

"Ah well." Serenity leaned back, she got a blush out of the boy but not much more then that. "I see." Serenity was back to full professional mode, looking behind the boy almost as if he wasn't even there. While she had no intention of being rude beyond the small teasing she gave when she was given a job she had to see it through.

Even one so demeaning as this one. "Let me know if you see the cat, if I can get a visual I can grab it in almost an instant." She spoke as she secured her gauntlets, after the events of the other day she wasn't sure how they would turn out but they seemed to be in perfect condition after having a cool down period and some small repairs made by Serenity herself.

As Serenity started to walk in the direction given the person following them had knocked over a nearby trashcan. Listening to the girl clearly lie, Serenity looked at her. "If you want to follow people around it's better to stay away from things that can make noise." She spoke calmly, smiling. "Of course if you wanted to join in on the little adventure you just had to ask."

She smirked towards the girl, she did recognize her as one of the three founders of the relatively new organization VeNM-KC, the Court had interest in that organization but decided to leave it alone for the time being. "Or are you to busy running that company of yours to deal with us normal people?" She honestly had no problem with big companies, but Serenity felt like knowing how one of the people in charge of the new organization behaved would be information the Court would be interested in.

Relief overcame him as the person in front of him returned to the situation at hand rather than following with her teasing. It was a sudden change, as if the person in front of him had turned from a normal schoolgirl to a full fledged worker, ready to do whatever was required of her, in that situation, to take the cat back to where it belonged.

Kaizo from his side had no trouble following through with what he had set to do, which was to give as much information about the cat as he possibly could. "It might be better to follow in this general direction for a while, the cat was running straight through the streets, barring some alleys here and there, chances are high that the cat is either on a garden, or inside one of the shops in the area, in both of those cases, it should be easy enough to retrieve, we'll probably have the cooperation of the people around us."

The words came out in something only slightly more emotive than his usual monotone, he wouldn't get better immediately admittedly. He turned around quickly, as he heard a noise from nearby. A girl, short and black haired closed in, using an excuse of having lost her wallet to justify her actions.

He eyed the new girl, recalling having seen her somewhere, but unsure of where exactly he had. The girl that was looking for the cat mentioned something about the new person being the owner of a company, but he'd remember if he had seen her because of that. Instead of trying to rustle his memory, he decided to ask the obvious question.

"Have we met somewhere before?"

With all that regularly happened around Hyakuji, he had forgotten all about what had happened at the mirror house.

"I did not intend to spy on you, you two simply caught my attention as I walked by," Valentine said, deciding to explain what she was doing, "I was kind of hoping you two were going to do something interesting but it does not look like it will turn out that way." Serenity then told her that she could join their adventure if she wanted, Valentine sighing slightly. Just before she was about leave and turn down the invitation, Serenity asked if she was too busy running a company. Valentine stopped in place and looked to her, a slight grin on her face. Even the young man asked if he recognized her, Valentine's grin turning into a lightly smug smile.

"So you have heard of me," Valentine said, placing a hand on her hip, "I am glad to see VeNM-KC is getting a lot of recognition. Of course, it comes with being a tech producer of specialized goods that are far beyond that of what is being produced otherwise. I am a bit more interested now, do tell where you have heard of me. I like my advertising to be accurate so I may attract more potentials." She was quite interested to hear what she had to say, enough so that she'd join them in their little "adventure".

Listening to Valentine explain why she was following them even she was a bit bored and disappointed by it. Curiosity while sometimes a good thing was often just idle hopes of something interesting happening.

"Oh?." Serenity looked towards Valentine, she definetly reacted in a different way then she was expecting. It seemed like the girl in front of her had a steady head on her shoulders, that was always good in running a company. She'd have to inform her superiors to keep a close eye on VeNM-KC, if the other heads were as competent as this girl seemed to be they had potential.

"You can't expect me to give away a secret like that so easily." Serenity spoke playfully, keeping an eye around for the cat. She smirked, she wouldn't want to divulge aspects of The Court to a potential contractor. That was Bishop's job and she handled it much better then Serenity was capable of, worse comes to worse she'd just mention it as an interested group.

Shortly afterwards the trio would see the cat running towards them, curious Serenity grabbed it quickly. "Looks like my prize came straight to me." She smiled victoriously holding the cat in her hands.

"Kitty."

A deep rumbling voice came from the alleyway the cat ran out of.

"Come Back, Kitty."

Loud stomps echoed from within the alleyway as the strange creature stepped out from the shadows.

"Give me Kitty."

Serenity smiled, it seemed like the job was about to get a whole lot more fun. She was wondering if it was just going to be a boring job. Looks like her luck turned around as the creature started to walk towards them. "Well, what do we have here?" Serenity's eyes locked with the creatures, not budging an inch. "Sorry, but this cat is coming with me."

The creature roared in anger. "GIVE ME KITTY."

Seamlessly integrating into the conversation, the new girl seemed to fill herself with pride as she explained the role of her company. VeNM-KC, they had developed that game, Digital Layer, he had been eager to try it, in order to know how different it was from his own virtual reality game, however, his own backlog prevented him from trying it, at the very least until he finished the last few games he had gotten from Humble Bundles and Steam Sales.

From thee other side, the girl that was looking for the cat seemed to take interest in leaving as little information out as possible. He himself was not sure if that was the reason why he was familiar with the president of the company, Kaizo assumed that he had seen her in a random ad somewhere, or in an article in a gaming website, and just rolled with it.

As they talked, the reason for which they had initially gathered came to them, solving their troubles with just its appearance. "I assume that was it." the situation at hand seemed to have solved itself before they had the chance to act up on anything. Then again, things in Hyakuji were rarely as they seemed.

A voice, definitely not human, called out for the cat that had just ran out of the alley. With strepitous steps, a moderately humanoid creature made its way into view. Despite the fact that the base form of his body could, to an extent be called humanlike, it was differentiated by large pincers, a mouth that seemed more at home with an ant than something of the massive size of the thing that they were faced with, sets of spikes, and what looked like a set of wings on his back.

"Well that's Hyakuji for you.'

Listening to what the creature had to say, its affectionate calling of the cat as a "kitty" made him think that perhaps it did no intend on gravely hurting the cat. However, he could not just turn back to the fact that it was roaring at them, ready to attack at any instant. As such, Kaizo felt compelled to just warn him rather than attempt to severely hurt the creature. He'd avoid killing as long as it was possible.

He raised his hand, straightening it, and aiming his fingers at the paved road right in front of the beast's feet. A pixel formed of 120 pixels came flying through. It was far from the teen's maximum, but enough to make a basketball sized hole on the pavement in front of where the thing stood.

"Please refer from trying to attack, we do not intend to harm you if you do not either."

"Tch," Valentine sounded when Serenity told her that she wouldn't reveal her source, "Well, it is not really my job to find this information out so I guess it cannot be helped." Valentine didn't care either way since whatever she was doing was hitting it correctly, probably knowing what caused her more attention would probably ruin it. Not a moment to pass and a cat appeared, Valentine watching as Serenity grabbed it and called it her prize. "Cat hunting?" Vale asked, looking to her with a confused look.

Another voice was heard, catching Vale's attention and causing her to turn her head to its source. She couldn't make out what it was but it was certain it sounded like a brawler of sorts. The person wanted the cat back, a simple request if she ever heard one. However it didn't appear that way once it walked out of the shadows, revealing its true self. The creature continued to request the cat back, Vale looking to the cat and then to the creature, looking to Serenity last. "Maybe the cat is his?" Valentine asked, "I mean, even if it did run away from the shadows, it might still be its owner."

If this were more of an early stage Valentine, she would most likely charge in without thought, however time has shown that everything isn't as it always seems. Of course, she could always be wrong and everything appears as it seems. Trial and error here, considering this is Hyakuji. She decided to let Kaizo speak with it first, looking to the boy with a bit of curiosity. She definitely saw him before, she knows she did but she couldn't place it.

"It's owner is an old lady who lives about a fifteen minute walk away from here." Serenity spoke as she smiled, she was briefed on this after all. Getting the cat and not knowing where to take it back to was something that a novice agent would do. Seeing as she was skilled and had half a brain she knew for a fact that this creature wasn't about to let them walk away with the cat.

The creature didn't even wait for Kaizo to finish talking before charging straight for him in an attempt to slam into him. As if on queue Serenity literally tossed the cat at Valentine and tackled Kaizo to the side out of the way of the creature. "Well, I don't think it seems to be taking your threats seriously." Serenity spoke as she stood up and dusted off her uniform. "Cool powers, by the way." She moved into a stance not unlike that of a boxer, manipulating temporal energy into her gauntlets Serenity activated Split Second.

In what would appear to be a second for everyone else Serenity moved forward at superhuman seeming speeds and sent a punch towards the creature's head landing square on it's mark and sending the creature a few steps back. Other then that it didn't seem to have done much damage. "Well." Serenity started to speak slowly so everyone else would be able to understand her easily. "I think this guy is going to be a challenge." A smirk was evident on her face.

A sudden charge gave him the cue to activate his Glitch Transfer, or it would have, if it had not been for the girl besides him moving him out of the way before he could. Her doing so was not something that really bothered him, as it allowed him to save its use for an offensive, rather than a defensive purpose, as well as giving him more time to correctly gauge the creature's power.

"You are right, it seems as if it is impossible to reason with it, and thanks for the compliment." Even if they were in fact in a relatively dangerous situation, the gamer could not help but enjoy the predicament. It had been long since he had been able to fight against something that was not world ending, or otherwise impossible to win against due to a share of issues. He had seen more than enough threats to be worried by a lobster man.

The girl besides him ran at a speed that definitely sprung from a certain power or ability that she owned. It seemed affected by the hit, the monster was sent back slightly, however, it did not seem heavily damaged by the hit. Thinking quickly, the gamer figured that with the amount of weight it carried in its short legs, it wasn't entirely unlikely that hitting them would result in massive damage.

Once more, he extended his hand to shoot pixels, however at that time, he would no longer attempt to warn the being before hitting it, instead, he'd hit as hard as he could, in order to see how much damage it could take before being taken down. He shot two charges, both filled with 200 pixels, one of them towards the monster's knee, and the other at the pavement just behind it.

In case the creature wasn't gravely injured by the attack, it was possible that it would fall back, as once the pixel hit the pavement, it would create a large hole, around the width of a 60cm/2 feet diameter sphere, more or less the length of one of the thing's legs, perhaps a bit more.

"I've been looking for a challenge for a while now anyway"

"Well, I guess there goes that theory," Valentine said when Serenity said that it belonged to an old woman, shrugging as well. If it were just Valentine alone, she probably would have just given the cat to the thing so it'd leave her alone, not like she saw it as a challenge to the point where she'd just toss the cat at it though. Speaking of the cat, Serenity tossed the cat to Valentine which she caught and held onto it, looking at it in the eyes and over its body. "Huh, the first time I have actually met a cat," Valentine said to herself, examining it and raising its head by lightly lifting up its chin.

Valentine stood back, watching as the young man had already started using his powers and Serenity beginning to use hers. Valentines recognized Kaizo's but Serenity's was causing major interest for her. At first Valentine figured she was another speedster until she began speaking, hearing her speak a bit differently than normal. "This can only be due to moving faster within the plane of time," Valentine thought to herself, "How interesting."

Valentine continued to watch while holding onto the cat, her attention going back and forth between the two. In the end, something did happen between the two and she was able to watch it, on the other hand she was able to meet a cat for the first time and hold it no less.
