Approaching the dorm Serenity stopped for a moment, she spent a minute assessing the building. It was something of a habit that she had picked up as an agent, often before they'd go on a mission they would visit the location of the mission prior and check it over. This helped them to develop plans for the mission or even backup plans in the case of things going awry. Bringing her gloved hand to her chin she glanced over the building and around at the other students. She had decided to take her gloves out just to make her luggage a bit lighter, it was already light enough but this helped. Her other hand also was holding her luggage, she had managed to fit it all in one slightly large bag. "Interesting, I was expecting as much." She spoke quietly taking in the situation, it was different for her, seeing people just casually strolling along their lives not having any visible worries in the world. As if on queue her phone began to vibrate in her pocket with a sigh she pulled the phone out of her pocket. "Seriously, you have to stop ringing me for a bit." The voice on the other side of the phone responded. "Ah, alright then. If you really were just checking up on me I'll let it slide." A brief chuckle escaped her lips. "Yeah, be careful as well. Contact me again if you get a job for me." As she got to the base of the dorm she noticed several people looking at her. It was probably because of the gauntlets, or maybe it was because she was new here, it was a bit unnerving. Often as an agent she'd have to try and conceal herself so having so much attention on her made her feel uneasy. |

Artemis laced her shoes, tightening them for a more secure fit as she was about to begin her daily run. Artemis was wearing a light blue, loose tank top with a sports bra underneath and a black pair of fleece running shorts. "I'm heading out!" Artemis called out to Dakota before leaving, taking her phone and headphones so she can listen to music as she went along. Unfortunately Artemis lived on the first floor or else she would have taken the stairs but instead she can simply go through the lobby and right out the door. As she was heading out, Artemis noticed a new face to the dorm and waved to her. Guess she can stop and welcome someone to the dorm, it's not like she can't start running at anytime. Artemis walked over to girl and gave her a smile, "Hey, looks like you're new here," Artemis said, extending an open hand to the girl for a handshake, "My name's Artemis, second year at Hyakuji high." Artemis was probably a good face to see around, considering there might be others that aren't so friendly greeting new people. Plus she liked to get acquainted with people whenever she could, even new people she'd probably never see again. |

Serenity glanced over at the approaching student, where the others had decided to stay back and observe her from a distance this girl had walked right on up to her. Clearly she was a bit of an extrovert, she'd be the kind of person that the Court would have a field day with as an agent. Enough about the Court, Serenity nodded towards the girl whose name was Artemis before taking her hand in a brief handshake. "Greetings, I'm known as Serenity." She smiled observing the girl, wondering if she was one of the many powered students that she had heard about. She wondered what this girl's powers were. "I am indeed new here, I've just enrolled here first time I've been to a proper school for a while really." She spoke politely, it seemed like it was a good omen that she already got into a conversation with one of the students. She would probably need some assistance in getting some knowledge about the surrounding areas and the school. "I don't suppose I have to worry about you sending any boars after me?" Serenity inquired jokingly, in reference to the god who shared the same name as the girl. "Although I don't think gods would be to interested in going to school." She says that but there are people who would easily be set for their lives using their powers. "I guess that means it's just a coincidence, right?" |

"Ah, Serenity, huh? That's a neat name. I've been running into a lot of people that have cool names," Artemis said, chuckling lightly as she shook her hand. Even if Artemis didn't plan on talking to someone often after meeting them, she always liked to know peoples names; Remembering names to a face is what made it fun for Artemis. Confirming her guess, Artemis grinned happily at Fudo having another member. "Oh, so you've been home schooled or something before?" Artemis asked in response to Serenity saying it had been a while since she attended a proper school. Artemis looked to Serenity a bit confused at what she was mentioning, bringing up boars and gods. Artemis then laughed, finally understanding what she meant. "Hahaha, took me a second to realize what you were talking about. Yeah, I wouldn't worry about any boars. Actually, it's been a while since I heard someone make that reference towards me so it came off as confusing." Artemis looked at her bag, looking back to her with a smile. "So, got your room number and stuff? Need any help getting to your room? There's a lot of friendly people here always willing to help someone so feel free to ask." |

"I wouldn't exactly say home schooled, my work doesn't normally allow me to have a normal school life." Serenity answered her question, she didn't really mind giving away some of her history. After all free advertising for the Court was always something good, it allowed them to get more requests giving her more jobs and getting more funds from the organization. "After some convincing they decided having some formal education was a wise idea and sent me here." Serenity explained her situation, obviously The Court had given her an excellent education but it still wasn't technically formal so that helped her case for being sent for Hyakuji. "Hmm, does that mean you arn't a friendly person?" Serenity looked mock inquisitively at Artemis as she inquired about information about her room number and assistance with luggage. While she was potentially annoying her, Serenity had an idea that this person was actually pretty friendly and outgoing, she could be wrong however. Holding her gloved arm out in front of her she pressed a button and a small panel opened up on the gauntlet. If Artemis took a quick glance she would see Serenity looking at a pocket watch. "It does seem like I should probably get everything set up." Glancing down at the luggage she had she looked back towards Artemis. "I believe I'm in room 109, that would be the first floor, correct?" Serenity inquired, it seemed reasonable but she hadn't gone to any schools or the like prior so for all she knew it could be different. |

"Aww, well you'll be having a normal school life here. Eh, maybe a bit normal? You know what I mean," Artemis said, giggling a bit at the irony of calling this a normal school life. Artemis kinda thought about the idea of Hyakuji having actual academics and can't recall anything similar to schools that weren't Hyakuji, considering the normal schools don't fight monsters and the likes. Serenity then asked her if she wasn't friendly, Artemis shaking her head, "No, I'm totally friendly. I don't see myself ever being the bad guy," Artemis said, giving her a thumbs up as well, "Kinda funny cause I actually wanna be a cop when I graduate. I should take up training and stuff." Artemis watched as the girl pressed a button, revealing a pocket watch that Serenity was looking at. "Ah, am I holding you up? I'm sorry if I am, I just got a bit excited to meet someone new." It would seem Serenity is also on the first floor, nodding when Serenity asked if it was on the first floor. "It's actually not that far from my dorm room," Artemis said, turning and facing the hallway that led to her room, "If you'd like, I can show you the way." |

"Ah alright, That's a worthy goal. Unfortunately I don't think I could make it as a cop. To much bureaucracy getting in the way." Serenity voiced her opinion, her job was more or less like a wider variety of a cop, at least a damn few cases turned out to be that. Showcased the problem with a lot of police departments in a lot of places, of course telling the girl who was trying to be her friend that her dream wasn't worth it wasn't a good idea. Even Serenity could recognize that as an obvious warning sign with ease. "No, I've got all the time in the world." Serenity coyly spoke, obviously the pun would be lost on Artemis but she always enjoyed making a few puns about her powers. When Artemis offered to show her to her room Serenity bought her gloved hand to her chin again. "That sounds like a good idea." She spoke before gesturing to Artemis to lead the way. "If you don't mind of course." Speaking of powers she had yet to see anyone use their powers at all. It was a bit of a letdown, while she did often meet people and work with people who had powers in her line of work, she never heard of such a high concentration as the one here. "Actually, I've heard that a lot of the students here have powers." Serenity asked questioningly, she was pretty sure that definetly was the case but even so she didn't want to seem rude by just up and asking what the girl's powers were. "Is that the same for you?" She'd be willing to trade her information for the girl's but it all depended on how the girl responded. |

"I guess that could be a downside but having an ordered structure sounds pretty good to me," Artemis said, grinning warmly, "It's easier to tell who's below you and who's above you. Makes climbing to the top easier when you know who you have to outshine. Not to mention I really wanna do it because I want to protect those I care about, people I don't want to have taken from me." Artemis continued to smile, her sense of justice quite strong. After having asked if she was holding her up, Serenity told her that she had all the time in the world. "Taking it easy, huh?" Artemis said, unaware of her power or even making a connection. She then walked down the hallway after Serenity agreed, passing her own room and pointing out by telling her it was her dorm room. Artemis stopped in front of Serenity's room, "Welp, this it. Not that far away, like I said." Serenity had inquired Artemis about students having powers, even asking if the case was same with her. Artemis nodded, grinning once more. "I'm a psychokinesist!" Artemis said with much pride, using her power to cause her phone to fly through the air. "I've gotten pretty good at that but it's not all I can do. I can do this too." Being in the hallway with several windows provided good amounts of shade, Artemis using the shadow to fall into the floor and disappear completely. Artemis had disappeared from sight, teleporting to who knows where. Suddenly the sound of her door unlocking could be heard, Artemis opening it from the inside. "Pretty neat, huh?" Artemis asked, giggling a bit, "Don't worry, I won't be doing that again and I don't do it for that purpose so you rest easy." Edited by Maou, Jun 11 2014, 11:14 AM.

"I suppose to each their own." Serenity responded as Artemis explained her reasoning for wanting to be a police officer. It made some sense but Serenity could only see the flaws in the system. Maybe that was cause of her experience in dealing with scenarios that the police were less then effective in. As she expected Artemis didn't get her pun, that disappointed her but there really was no way that she could make the connection it was expected after all. Serenity took note of where Artemis's room was, seeing that she had made a contact on her first day it would be in the best idea to keep on good terms with her. Knowing where to find her was also useful. Explaining her powers Serenity was impressed. She had met one psychokinesis user before and she wondered if Artemis's abilities worked in more or less the same way. Then mentioning several other tricks she fell into a nearby shadow. Serenity eyed the shadow carefully and decided that if she wanted to show off powers, then Serenity had a trick up her own sleeve. Pulling temporal energy from the air around her through Finality, Serenity activated Split Second. The world appeared for her to slow down to a third of it's normal speed. She never really figured out whether or not it was her speeding up or the world slowing down but either way the power was definetly the most useful ability in her repertoire. As Artemis opened the door she would notice a blur past her at definite superhuman speed, while technically it wasn't super speed it was often confused for that. A moment later she would notice Serenity sitting on the couch in the front room. "You arn't the only one with tricks." Serenity spoke, Artemis would probably have trouble understanding it because it would be spoken three times faster then normal. "Cool, Right?" Serenity spoke slowly to her to try and tune it in for the rest of realities perception. "Come in and sit." This was probably the downside to using split second, she had to slow everything about herself down if she wanted to effectively communicate with other people. |

As Artemis opened the door, she saw a blur of colors pass by and saw no one in front of the door. Looking around the corner from the doorway, Artemis would she see was suddenly gone. She then heard someone behind her that startled her slightly and causing her to to turn around immediately. "Oh, neat!" Artemis said in surprise, "Was that you then, that blur? I thought something got in my eye for second there." Artemis was very impressed, closing the door behind her and joining Serenity on the couch. "Are you a speedster too? Hyakuji has a famous one that runs about here and there, though I here he's a pervert so watch out for him." That certain speedster's ears might be ringing about now, or maybe sneezing. "I always wanted to know what it was like being super fast. Before I wanted to fly but now I can do that. I guess that's the next plateau!" Artemis had herself some really clear goals, clear enough to the point you could map out each move that'd take her to the next. |

"Yes it indeed was me." Serenity said as she dissipated the temporal energy. Syncing back up to the regular perception of time Serenity noticed her gloves spark a little bit. That was the second problem with her powers. Finality could only handle so much temporal energy bypassing through it. A laugh escaped Serenity's lips as she was asked whether or not she was a speedster, the fact that there was another speedster interested her though. She always wanted to see how much Split Second would slow down a speedster for her perception. "I'm not quite a speedster, my whole thing is manipulating leftover temporal energy." Serenity explained before realizing that the complicated thing time is that might be a bit confusing. "I take energy leftover from the passage of time and do things with it." She tried converting it into layman's terms for Artemis to understand. "For instance I fed myself the energy so that for every second that occurs in 'reality' three seconds pass for me, this allows me to act and react much faster." "Don't get me wrong, I can't time travel or stop time completely." Serenity explained trying to elaborate further. "That takes an immense amount of temporal energy, more then I could hope to control." She sighed, while she knew that going into the past would cause nothing but trouble it was always of interest to her. She took her gauntlets off and set them on the table. "I can do it all thanks to this nifty object." Serenity spoke as she pressed a button on the right gauntlet revealing the stopwatch once again. "Anyways enough about my powers." Stretching her arms Serenity yawned then looked back towards Artemis. "What about the town? Any places I should know of in particular?" She could always use this point in time to get more information regarding Hyakuji. While she got the general briefing that isn't very helpful for areas which you want to live in. |

Just as Artemis suspected, the blur was her. Artemis noticed the spark on Serenity's gauntlet, tilting her head slightly. "Did it break?" Artemis asked, a bit curious about her gauntlets. Serenity began to explain what her power really was, Artemis continuing to be more and more impressed. "Oh wow! I've never met someone that can mess with time and stuff!" Artemis said, her expression showing that she was very impressed and amazed. Sitting next to Artemis, it was quite apparent she was taller than her, though from the lobby it could have been even easier to tell. Artemis looked at the watch, Serenity telling her that her power comes from the pocket watch. "So what happens if it breaks?" Artemis asked, looking at the pocket watch and then back at her, "Not that I'd do anything to break it." Artemis waved her hands in front of her, showing she meant no harm. It would seem that time travel wasn't within reach for Serenity, Artemis nodding at the information. She then began asking her about the local area, places that'd be of interest for a newcomer. "Hmm, places? Well, there seems to be a lot of cool stores that sell things in the mall. Um, Underground 10? It's a club a lot of students like to hang out at. Has music and stuff, it's pretty cool. Oh! There's also the elemancer tower for those that have powers regarding the elements. I don't know if there's a time element though, it'd be pretty cool." Artemis continued to think about a couple other places, "Let's see. Maybe Doki Doki Land? It's a theme park and has a lot of neat stuff. There's a several businesses downtown that seem to be booming. One's called Rabenschwarz and the other is VeNM-KC. Rabenschwarz has a ton of things they do, like music and tech stuff. VeNM-KC does tech only, kinda lame." Edited by Maou, Jun 11 2014, 12:21 PM.

"Nah, it often does that." Serenity responded to Artemis's inquiry about the state of Finality. "It doesn't do well with processing large amounts of temporal energy, if anything its just overheating temporarily." Her powers were pretty expensive in the amount of temporal energy that it consumed so it wasn't suprising that it was easy for Finality to overheat. "I honestly don't know, normally I keep it in Tick so it stays with me whenever I use Tick and Tock." She gestured to the two mechanical gauntlets that lay on the table now. "It protects it very well and it seems to be unusually durable itself." Serenity explained, chances are either two things would happen. It'd either just stop working and she could't channel the energy through it, or it would go into meltdown absorbing an insane amount of temporal energy and blow up taking a lot with it. Chances are it was the former though. "Ah, so that is the case." Serenity smiled as she heard Artemis discussing the various kinds of places that were in Hyakuji. It sounded like there was a lot of fun things to do in Hyakuji, Serenity was looking forward to it. "Well then, would I be able to get a guide by any chance?" Serenity inquired politely as she began to put Tick and Tock back on her hands. Even if Artemis turned her down she was going to have to have a look around Hyakuji anyways to get her bearings within the town, having someone along for the ride just made it more enjoyable. |

"I see," Artemis said after Serenity explained that her gauntlets normally sparked after use, also explaining that she doesn't exactly know what would happen if her pocket watch suddenly broke, "Well, it's better to be safe then sorry. Wouldn't want to lose a power after having it for so long. It'd be like losing a friend." Artemis was glad to have met Serenity, the girl being very interesting to say the least. Her power alone was quite intriguing and she wondered how much of her was her power. Most people are shaped by their power while a few actually shaped their power to them, something Artemis began learning in Hyakuji. Serenity then asked if she could get a guide to show her around, Artemis thinking for a second, "I don't know of any guides personally but I'd be more than willing to show you around. I was planning to go for a run but walking works too, hence my outfit at the moment." Artemis pulled at her loose tank top, her muscle tone slightly building with each month. "Anywhere you wanna check out first?" She asked, standing up and looking to her with a smile. |

"Hmm." Serenity thought for a while, technically she didn't exactly have plans to go to anywhere in particular. It was more getting the layout of Hyakuji down pat, if anything there was a low chance that on today Serenity would actually be going and participating in any of the attractions considering it was her first day. "I'd say that we could probably walk around and just see how it goes." Serenity spoke, standing up and moving to the door. As she got to the doorway her phone began to ring. "Again?" Serenity sighed in complaint before picking it up. "What?" A flash of annoyance went across her face as the person on the other end of the phone responded. "No, I'm not recruiting her." She sighed and rubbed her temple with her unoccupied hand. "Hang on, how do you know her powers?" Her eyes flashed open at the slip up by her superior. "You didn't..... Oh, you did." She spoke angrily before hanging up the phone. "Excuse me one second." Serenity politely apologized to Artemis as she walked back inside and opened her luggage. As if on queue a small drone flew up and tried to fly away. "Where do you think your going?" Serenity dryly commented grabbing the drone before it could get away. "We are going to talk about this later, alright." Serenity said to the drone as she shut off the drone. "Sorry about that." Serenity spoke as she stood back up and once again gestured towards the door. "Shall we start going then?" |
