ZEHAHAHA!!
"I'd say it's a blessing. Something had to have made you realize that, right? So it'd be likely you'd be burdened even if you hadn't understood we all have really limited time." Lucid giggled. "Better sad and informed than sad and ignorant, right?"

She liked that Serenity stuck to herself, though. Lucid had seen plenty of people lose themselves to ideologies that weren't theirs to begin with. The downside of working for a cult, really. And hey, at least her blue haired friend here could admit personal weakness. That was a nice plus!

"Oh, you can see it. You can change. I'm still me, and I don't think I can get too big for the ol' britches."

The question Serenity asked her was very odd, though. Huh, this was the first time in a while. She had to think for a second or two before responding.

"Not too bright, not too moral, not too restrained." She rattled off. "I guess I've done a lot of things you'd consider bad. I don't really get the whole good and evil thing, really."

She hummed absentmindedly as she continued to think.

"I guess it's fine if you hang around with me, even though you would look saintly next to me."

Serenity thought about Lucid's response, it was true that at least knowing that you were on a clock was better then not knowing at all. "I guess you have a point there." After all, if she wasn't aware of the finite amount of time then she probably wouldn't be acting at the pace she was, chances are she'd be putting things off pretending that they could wait until another time even if she knew better herself.

Listening to Lucid explain that she could change Serenity found herself frowning. "Even if I can change the question is, would I?" Even though she knew that she was on a limited time frame that was one thing that she continued to put off. Whether she would be an agent forever doing the jobs that no one wanted done by their own hand. Would she ever be able to be a 'normal' person, she couldn't answer that simply because she didn't know if she could.

Serenity chuckled, it seemed very like Lucid that she didn't really understand the concept of good and evil. If anything it was amusingly understandable itself, good and evil were perceptions nothing more. What was good for one person was evil or another and that worked both ways. "Sounds very human really." Serenity smiled, while she thought Lucid was still very strange, it was nice to know she had the same kind of flaws that a normal human would have.

"I don't know about that, last time I checked I was the one carrying around weapons." Serenity smiled as she held out her gauntlets in proof. She didn't really care enough about what other people thought, carrying around her methods of defense was just intelligent and Serenity wasn't about to go around without some means of protection.

"Haha, I guess I do. Fancy that, huh?" Lucid chuckled, stroking her twintails as she did. "Can't be too time optimal to be talking to me, though."

The assassin was apparently killing time as well, pun intended for all the wrong reasons. She wasn't exactly going to hold her own in a philosophy debate, but she did ask the questions that people were too polite to consider. With a big smile, she continued on.

"Of course you'd change! Are you afraid that you can't be the same person forever? Most people grow up eventually. It's all part of the ticking clock, you know. We'll be different one day. The only question is if you'll embrace it or not."

She wondered how much different they'd be, though. Dead was an eventual answer, but she had to look at the timeframe between now and dead.

"We're both human. Some of us are just more human than others, even if we sometimes do inhuman things to our fellow humans. Riiiight~?"

She eyed those gauntlets, almost wanting to touch them. So she did.

"Deep down, is this how you are? Ticking brass and gears, but metaphorical and all?"

"You'd be surprised, considering my reason it's quite optimal actually." Serenity smirked, the idea of trying to make sure everyone got a happy end. She had admittedly ruined a few of those herself but she had to get to a position where she could affect as many people as possible. Getting to know people and how to get them their ending was something that had to be done, she didn't mind doing it at all though. Learning about people was an interesting experience in it's own right.

When Lucid spoke about how everyone changed Serenity chuckled. "I wouldn't say i'm afraid of it." She smiled a tired smile, she wasn't really afraid. She just didn't want to not be able to follow her own ideals. So many people left their ideals by the roadside in their life, she decided that she would stick by them and if they couldn't come across with her to her 'normal' life she didn't know what she'd be able to do.

"True enough, I suppose being human is being able to make decisions with more then just instinct regardless of what kind of decisions." She spoke, it was true. People applied logic and emotion beyond instinct, this made them quite different at making decisions then from creatures who relied solely on instincts. This wasn't to say that instincts are a bad thing, if anything often they proved more reliable but they weren't the only thing to be relied upon.

As Lucid reached out and touched her gauntlets asking if she was like them, a collection of gears and metal Serenity stood frowning. "Maybe." She spoke softly, it wasn't something that she really put that much thought into, it was a somber thought. Pulling her hands back she continued walking a few steps away she stopped and turned around smiling. "Well, come on. Don't want to get left behind do you?" She didn't know why but she was really enjoying her conversation with Lucid, it was a refreshing break from the conversations she would have with others which consisted of meaningless trivialities.

"Optimal? Hmm, hmm! That usually means absorbing information, right?" That was usually the only reason why people would willingly talk to her for so long. Then again, if the other option was true....

Lucid giggled, giddy at the prospect of having made a new friend. Her arms extended once more as she stepped in. Oh, just one hug. Just one would be nice!

Whether she got it or not, the white haired assassin would examine that tired smile Serenity wore. Wow, that was an amazingly old looking way of doing it. That usually came with bad pasts, that it did. Somebody who smiled like that and said they weren't afraid of death were ones who had a deep scrubbing inside their souls.

How painful, really. But she couldn't understand such suffering.

"Yep, that's the way. But of course, your brain's been harming you more than your instincts, huh?" She tilted her head. It seemed true. Serenity's suffering was because she thought. If she let her brain be scrubbed instead of her insides, it'd certainly help her deal with the bad things.

Or maybe that was unnecessary. Given the blue haired girl's reaction to her question, Lucid figured that she was dealing her it in her own way. Mechanical, clockwork life. The fool understood that, at least. She followed close behind, skipping behind like a shadow on the wall.

"Want me to carry your luggage?" She offered.

Lucid was used to being the pack mule, after all. And in her own shallow little way, it would represent how she would help carry Serenity's burdens. This wasn't much in the way of niceness, but it was a start.

"I suppose in a way it does." Serenity responded, on a technicality it was absorbing information but that really wasn't the reasoning behind her being alright with talking with Lucid. It was interesting in a way, the small girl being able to act in such a different way than was considered 'normal' being more understanding of Serenity then anyone who determined themselves to be 'normal'.

She let herself be hugged by Lucid, a bit of a surprise really. She couldn't remember the last time she had physical contact of a similar nature with someone. It was probably with her parents before they were killed. The warmth was a bit unusual but not unwelcome, as she stepped away from the embrace Serenity she took note of what Lucid said. "True, but it's also been helping me more in some situations." She let out a small chuckle. "It's a give and take relationship." While intelligence proved to be harmful to a mental state it also proved to be helpful when it was needed.

When Lucid offered to help carry her luggage she shook her head. Taking note of the bag and holding it up with one arm with no effort. "Thanks but I'm fine." She smiled as they continued walking, she was still stubborn carrying her burden on her own. She was the only one who knew how much time she had so it was better that way.

Interesting, interesting! Was she absorbing Lucid's information because it was more filled with Vitamin Knowledge than others? The white haired fool giggled at the idea. That'd be really nice. At least she and Serenity seemed to be getting along fine. Usually, at this point, people got really mad at her.

"I'll give a lot and take a bit, hehe~" She smiled widely as she hugged Serenity tightly. "That is, if you let me be your friend. It'd be nice to hang around somebody I understand."

Well, somebody she understood that didn't hate her in return. That sort of stuff made dinner impossibly hard, hahaha! Maybe she should actually make an effort to be less annoying to friends. That and not forget important details.

"Okay. I'll remember that."

Serenity was a highly independent person. She liked that, she really did! With a skip and a hop, she pointed forward to the exit of the train station.

"And in exchange, it's your turn to remember the fun times you'll have here. Oh, I have such things to show you...."
