ZEHAHAHA!!
"Ring ring~"

Lucid pressed her ear to the door, a big grin on her face as she tried to listen in. So, as it turned out, Elegant Misae was in the same building as her. It was cinch to secure a transfer, as a result. Oh, that reminded her of what she saw. Kell was so happy when she moved to a different room. The sour look on the wrestler's face turning into joy was a fine moment, indeed.

"Hello? It's me, it's me, it's LDT."

She stood on her tip-toes, rubbing the wooden door as if it was a good luck charm. Oh, she was so excited she could barely continue herself!

"Got my possessions in a duffel, and arms full of roomie cheer!" She declared. "We'll have a great time, Misae~"

"I might have to ask what you think you're doing to the door." Misae's voice echoed some moments later.

Approaching from the hall, it seemed that the red magus hadn't been in her room. Unlike most mages, Misae didn't spend much time locked up in a workshop. Though the room was a poor excuse for one, it still had some basic supplies to act in that capacity if she needed it. Rather, she simply didn't feel a need to. It wasn't as if she could do much in that regard until her body finished acclimating to this place anyway.

Besides, though she didn't mind herself, her roommate wasn't particularly fond of her, and the girl in red preferred to relax in the tea shop instead at anyrate.

"I imagine Chris would find it awkward to see you there."

"Asking you to let me in, of course!" Lucid smiled brightly. "I'd break it down, but it's our door now. Official transfer approved, so we're official roomies!"

She waved her arms enthusiastically, but took care to avoid the door.

"I heard some people don't like their property being disturbed, so I have to be a good roomie! I like you a lot, so I won't touch your stuff without permission~"

She tilted her head, just as she recalled the deviant feelings that had made her first meeting with Chris so odd. Haha, what a fun time.

"Oh, Super Idol Chris doesn't remember me. Why would she? She has plenty of fans!" Lucid smiled. "Granted, I'm not as well versed in her songs as the average fan, but I can appreciate her. I guess you do, too?"

"I see." she noted dryly, fishing a key out of her pocket.

The door opened easily, leading into a surprisingly sparse room. The deadbolt wasn't secured, which meant Chris wasn't in either.

For the most part, few things marked the pair's occupation besides some stacks of paper by the occupied beds, and the very basics of a magus' atelier by one of the tables. There was a surprisingly well stocked first aid kid by Misae's bed, and some books by the table, held open by some loose gems. Aside from that, you wouldn't think that it was occupied. The two never seemed to be in except to sleep or clean themselves up.

"She sings well, though doesn't actually like me saying so all that much, or talking about her music really." she added "Though it doesn't actually come up, so it's not a problem. I don't really spend much time here, nor does she really."

"Wow, that's barely lived in." Lucid noted, running her finger along one of the tables. Hmm, spotless! But she figured she could do her part. "I guess I could help keep the place to this super high degree of clean. Magecraft is your area, chores are mine."

She wasn't a domestic tool, but she did a lot of the busywork since Scarlett didn't deign to do it herself. There were only a few elite servants that waited on the Executive, and none of them cleaned. So, the fool had to tidy up for all of them. She considered getting professionally trained, but she didn't have the chops to manage it.

"Huh. Never thought Super Idol Chris was touchy about her talents. Her last album was real good." She shrugged. Oh, well. Some artists were just weird that way, she guessed. "And this is weird. How can you be the outdoorsy type when you're not all tanned? Truly, the power of youth is super strong in m-"

Her brief declaration was cut short by another thought colliding with it.

"Oh, wait. You're busy doing your Super Enforcer stuff most of the time? Strange, I don't see you getting hurt all that often."

Well, she didn't see Misae much, period. Going by what the elegant mage said earlier, being roomies with her wouldn't change much. She continued to engage in wide leaps of logic, anyways.

"Reminds me of my co-worker, Corpse Warblade! She got into a lot of fights, came out of them without a single scratch. She's still scouting out this weird academy, last I heard." Gossip aside, she didn't have much of substance to say. So, she just poked around, carefully avoiding things that looked like they belonged to the mage.

Of course, her curiousity won out and she looked underneath Misae's bed.

"Oh hey, this is a weird contraption. Looks like there's a switch on it. What happens if I flick it?"

A loud buzzing sound could be heard.

It elicited little more than a shrug.

"Something own by the previous residents likely." she guessed, not particularly caring about it.

It wasn't as if she'd done much to the place besides put here things in it and rest there. The day was spent on classes, afternoons on practice, and precious little time to actually spend in her own room. She didn't even speak to her roommate often, not that they particularly got along.

"Tea?" Misae offered, as she set her coat by the bed and started for the kitchen.

"Guess so. I hear these weird words coming from it. 'Mantorok Tier Aretak Pargon Pargon Pargon Pargon Pargon Pargon'." Lucid shrugged and shoved it back underneath Misae's bed. Oh well, that couldn't lead to anything weird.

Rolling out from underneath her roommate's neatly made bed, she was pleasantly surprised to see that her bags had been carried in. She walked out to the kitchen and looked at the kettle, nodding at what appeared to be empty air as she did.

"Sure. Thanks, Misae!"

In the kettle, a third figure in the room was hazily reflected on its shiny surface. Motioning for it to go, the assassin rolled around on the floor while her roommate's attention was divided.

"Something mellow, perhaps?" She poked her head over the counter, smiling like a jack in the box. "Also, you seem to be thinking a lot more than answering. So I guess I need to become a mind-reader to understand you~"

She giggled. Well, it wasn't cheap. But it could be done....

"Then again, maybe I'd get bored? Straight laced dignity 24/7 can't be cool forever." She put one finger to her lips. "Unless there's a side of you that is rather wild. What's the expression again?"

Hmm. Nothing was coming to mind. Oh, well. She'd remember it eventually.

"Ah, not to say I'd like you any less if it were true. I'm very accepting of alternate lifestyles!"

"Oolong it is then." she noted, starting up the kettle and heating the water.

She couldn't be too careful with this. Water used in tea couldn't be too hot. As a rule, if it boiled, it was too hot. The ideal temperature was actually something closer to about 85 degrees C. Tea had a delicate flavour afterall, and excessive heat and improper preparation could and did destroy the taste of expensive, high quality teas.

"Though, I do think you're misunderstanding something." she said as she filled the tea pot with hot water "I'm not this way because I'm suppressing a natural wild urge or anything. It's simply that there is no other way for me to act."

"Oolong, for sure!"

That was an odd thing Lucid just saw. No, not the phantom. The lack of boiling. Sooo, she had been preparing it wrong the whole time? The white haired fool observed closely. Ohh, so Misae was showing her that she shouldn't turn up the heat too high. No wonder why the tea at Ataraxia tasted better than the stuff she prepared herself.

"Proper methods for proper people, I see~" She giggled. "I'll remember that."

Of course, Misae then noted that she was the sort of person that could not be anything but proper. Oh, right. Lucid forgot, she did! Her memories were starting to leak, but she would stuff them back in and seal the hole.

"Proper to the core. I'd like to be like that. Plug your soul into my head and make it so I can't forget again, hahaha~"

Eerie laughter aside, she was jonesing for some solid food.

"Got any biscuits?" She extended her arms towards the cupboard, but couldn't quite reach it. "Mmm...."

"Over there on the table." Misae pointed, towards a tin of Danish biscuits.

There wasn't actually a large supply of food in the room, given that both residents usually ate out. While Misae was a fairly good cook on her own, between studies, her objectives, and practicing and acclimating, the added effort was more troublesome compared to spending money for some small time to relax.

Tea was another matter however. Taking a tin of Darjeeling Oolong from the cupboard, she carefully measured the amount of leaves in proportion to the water, and turned a small eggtimer as she let it steep.

"Replication of Knowledge... isn't really something I'm after." she said quietly, watching the sand run quickly run down the glass.

"Wh- Oh." Lucid scurried to the tin, sneaking a biscuit into her mouth so quickly that it was a blink or miss moment. "Mmf mmm."

She nodded in approval. Good quality, not as dry as she thought it'd be. Actually, it was a sign of something that she should have already realized. Her grocery senses were tingling. This place didn't have much in the way of food. Already, the impulse to buy two pounds of cold cuts was welling up in her brain.

The sound of Misae opening the cupboard drew her attention away, though. Her roomie was incredibly controlled, but even she made superfluous noises once in a while. That was a thing she liked about the mage. Working with noisy people all the time was normal, the dignified sort was really rare. Heck, Misae had better manners than Scarlett.

"You never did say what you were really after. Will I have to find your Root before I can have my curiousity quenched?" She giggled, empty eyes boring into the back of the mage's head. "I could flip that device's switch again. I could burn the dorm down. I could even break the cups and eat the shards with the leaves. But my oh my, somehow it'd be even more interesting to hear you talk about yourself~"

Just as soon as her creepiness built up, it suddenly deflated as she started rolling on the floor again.

"But I guess we can save it for tea, if that's what gets you talk-ing~" She said in a sing-song voice.

"As I said, as a magus, my objectives are my own."

It was clear that Lucid would have to look into it herself. As far as Misae was concerned, such information was given on a need to know basis - no one else needed to know.

The last of the sand reached the bottom, and the red magus hummed quietly as she pulled out the infuser from the pot, setting the leaves aside. Unlike with coffee, you didn't want to keep the leaves steeping for longer than you had to. This let you reuse the leaves for another brewing, and prevented the tea from getting too bitter. Too long, and you merely mask the flavour.

Misae filled a cup for Lucid, and another for herself before taking a seat. There wasn't any milk, but there was a tin of cube sugar by the side, not that Misae used any for hers.

"Fine, fine. One of these days, you'll spill the beans. Everything crumbles, even determination." Lucid leapt up like a cat, showing some surprising agility and strength as she did a one arm handstand on the table while sipping at her tea.

She gave a quiet nod to her roomie. Tea this good couldn't be spoiled by words after a drink. She waited a few minutes, savouring the aftertaste before sighing ever so softly.

"Oh, that sure hit the spot." She smiled. "Thanks~"

She lowered herself back to the ground and took a seat, the teacup remaining perfectly still as she did. Her bodily control was far greater than her impulse control, it seemed. She tilted her head, then set the drink down.

"That's funny. You've read through me without even needing to ask me about myself, haven't you?" She started stroking her twintails. "Ooh, I wonder about your estimation of what I am. It's a game, a fun game! Tell me, what do you think I'm all about?"

The pitch of her voice rose just a bit to match Misae's. It seemed like the fool was imitating her roomie more and more as their talk went on.

"You're an anomaly, obviously." she said plainly "Among humans, generally only children and sociopaths posses such capacity for being both innocently naive and savagely violent."

That wasn't entirely true, but it was close enough for her purposes. It was the same feeling one got off a large child - there wasn't any malice as much as a lack of comprehension of the the concept of conscience. No negative emotion as much as a lack of any sort of reigns to keep her under control on her own. Those same eyes full of wanderlust and curiousity were also filled with savagery and inhumanity.

"But you aren't a sociopath." she added as she sipped her tea "Well, not quite at least. You don't really derive anything out of it either."

It was the eyes, she thought. Filled with wanderlust, curiousity and innocence, but at the same time savage and cruel in ways that didn't belong to modern humans. Abiity and knowledge behind obliviousness. She'd seen eyes like that before. Those same eyes belonged to the children of lineages that had been raised to hone their ability without anything that anchored them to an objective reality.

"How interesting. And how true! Piercing me to the core with your honest evaluation, just as I expected~!"

Lucid gave her a winning smile. That was a near-perfect answer. And in this imperfect world, that was the best they could get. So there, congratulations all around. That said....

"You're not as far down there like me, but you and I were raised for different reasons! Misae gets Hymnos jammed into her, so what is supposed to go inside Lucid?" She giggled. "Well, it took some thinking, but I understood later on. I'm an 'ideal vessel'. So, I was raised this way to be compatible with something. And yet I'm also supposed to be a handy dandy vessel. So, I have to be more pliable. Less smart. Not everything about me could match the contents, or else I'd get ideas about running away."

She drained her cup and presented the open hole to Misae. Once again, it was time to give her roomie a look at what was inside her.

"What is something that's profoundly empty, incredibly wise, and doesn't acknowledge good nor evil? And despite all that, be really happy and content?"

She was a cup made to hold exactly that sort of being. Now, what was the name of the drink that fit in her?
