The Schwarz Auction. A secret event held every six months, which only a select number of people who receive a special invitation are permitted to attend. Invitations are usually sent out to those who have the money to afford the items that are auctioned off at the event. The Schwarz Auction is organised by various criminal syndicates from across the world, and it has frequently changed locations. This year, the host of the Schwarz Auction was the Bernkastel-Kues Holdings Corporation, and the location was the Bernkastel-Kues Tower, headquarters of the host.

The auction offered items you would expect from an event organised by criminal syndicates. Various high valued stolen goods that could not be sold openly. Goods that could not be purchased legally, and very difficult to acquire even through the blackmarket. Even information was was auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The invitation card itself was redesigned for each event, making the invitation card incredibly difficult to forge. However, since the event itself wanted to attract as many potential purchasers as possible, the name of the receiver is not written on the card. Instead, when entering the venue and showing the invitation card, the invitee is required to give a handle name. While there is no strict rules about how many people can enter with one invitation card, it has become convention that a single invitation card permits entry to two people, allowing the invitee to bring one guest with them. Those who either come to the event alone, or in a group larger than two often attract a lot of suspicion.

The Bernkastel-Kues Tower, unusually, was filled with formally dressed high class guests from across the world. From company presidents to aristocrats. Many of them had brought an escort of the opposite gender as their guest, and seemed to be treating it similar to a high class party. At the entrance to the large corporate building were finely dressed men in black suits, sunglasses, and a hat which seemed to almost completely hide their identities. Those familiar with the Bernkastel-Kues Holdings Corporation would immediately realise they were not the usual security guards stationed at the corporate building. In addition to that, security was especially tight, with practically every corner of the building watched by these men.

Those who passed the invitation card inspection would be led to the elevator, and taken to the 39th floor, the top floor of the Bernkastel-Kues tower, in which they would find a large salon hall, full of formally dressed guests, and all clearly from high society. It was a large, open space, with food tables spread across the entire room, in which many of the guests gathered and socialised with each other.

Her parents would be pleased, their beloved daughter have managed to be invited the Bernkastel-Kues Corporation’s headquarter. Her parents should be pleased, she was surrounded by men and women of very VERY high status even if this event is illegal. It didn’t matter, she was pleased with herself for getting into such a high class event. An event that would be very hard for her family and their connections to attend since very few of them dabble in criminal activities. But she managed it, a lot of charming and connections to get her here.

Sayo held her escort’s arm as he handed an invite and murmured a name before being passed through. Her partner wore a black suit much like the people at the venue. He had an equally black hat and sunglasses hid his expression as they stepped into the elevator. Sayo also had sunglasses but chose not to wear a hat, she wasn’t concern about hiding her identity since her name isn’t that famous. Yet. And if someone recognize her then good, let them know that the Rie name isn’t all pure and innocent.

Sayo wore a high-end branded black suit with a shorter-than-average business skirt, black stockings and black heels. The only apparel that wasn’t black was the red tie which Sayo like to think was a good substitute for her muffler. She immediately blend in with the other guests as they stepped out the the elevator. Her eyes swept the room, trying to recognize some of the guests here.

It seemed like the main event haven’t started yet as the guests were just socializing. She looked up at her companion who was also scanning the room. Someone must have caught his eye because he looked down and hastily said he’ll go get drinks. Sayo watched him leave, having a feeling he won’t be back in a while. She smiled softly at the opportunity to socialize with guests alone.

While there were many guests gathered, it was clear that the hosts of the auction were yet to join the party. Those who were familiar with the auction would more than likely be aware of some of the hosting parties. Of course, the Rabenschwarz Group, the host of the current auction, would have their own products on display. Products that could legally only be sold to certain countries such as various weapons. However, the Rabenschwarz Group were only truly providing the venue for the auction. The true organisers were the Revache & Co., an international Mafia group originating in Italy using the front of a trading company. It was the Revache & Co. who provided the security, and organised the entire auction every six months.

Since it was the Revache & Co. dealing with the business side of the auction, Kues was practically free to do as she pleased. Well, even if Kues was supposed to be the organiser, she would have more than likely have forced all the work onto another member of the corporation, so it probably was for the best that Kues wasn't the one involved in organising the auction.

Of course, Kues wasn't going to miss the auction, especially when you consider the type of people who would come to such an auction. Those who would attend such a shady auction were the type of people Kues was most fit for. Low on morals, and solely driven by self gain. Well, most of the guests at the auction weren't quite that bad, it was largely just spoiled people with too much money, and not enough things to spend it on. Of course, that said, there were people, excluding the mafia, who were interested in things other than just getting their hands of rare goods. With various weapons also on auction, there was no shortage of guests with dark intentions.

Arriving at the 39th floor shortly after Rie was a particularly big group of people. Big enough to catch most people's attentions, especially considering practically all the guests thus far had come in pairs. A group of about four, accompanied by two of the auctions security guards. A serious looking, young Korean woman in a traditional Korean attire. A large, middle-aged, American businessman who seemed overly pleased with himself. A finely dressed, yet rough looking Japanese business man. Finally, leading the group was a girl with an odd shade of blue hair, dressed in a formal European dress. To anyone with any knowledge of the Rabenschwarz Group, it wouldn't be difficult to identify at least who Kues was.

"I see the auction is as busy as it always is~ I see that we have a lot of new faces joining us this time too~☆"

As a person with a long history of being part of the underground society, it was only natural for Kues to have attended several of these events. For many of the other members of the Rabenschwarz Group, it would have been their first time, however by the looks of a certain Japanese and American business, it was obvious that they weren't newcomers to the event. The group Kues had arrived with went their separate ways, greeting various acquaintances. Kues, on the other hand, seemed to have taken an interest in a certain guest at the party. Truth be told, it probably wasn't only Kues who had noticed the certain individual, after all, Sayo certainly didn't look the type to be attending such an event.

"I see we have an interesting new guest today~ It's rare we get such young guests~☆ Did a certain item catch your eye~? Or maybe you're a guest of someone~☆"

Sayo’s eyes widen in surprise, not expecting anyone to pick her out from the crowd of guests. She was, especially, not expecting the host to notice her. Of course, Sayo recognized the girl immediately: the CEO of Bernkastel-Kues. Talking to Sayo. Kami, is this your doing?

Sayo composed herself and put up a cool expression. She took off the sunglasses, folded them and put the eyewear in her pocket. She was surprise how mature Kues looked, she looked younger in photos. Remembering to be polite, Sayo gave a bow to the host of Schwarz Auction. It was a respectful bow that Sayo have learned to perfect, not too low or too high: she was here to impress her not kiss her feet. No, Sayo wasn’t going to suck up to even Lady Kues herself gain goodwill, she had pride and her name to uphold. If this were her parents, they would have immediately prostrate themselves so tonight she will not be her parents’ child. Besides, there are other ways to gain a person’s favor.

“Sayo Rie, daughter of the Rie Enterprise. I came with someone else but he left my side to get a drink for me. This is embarrassing to admit but I did not come here with the intent of making a bid. I was just curious about the Schwarz Auction.” She smiled and gave a light laugh at the end, to hide the gleam of a darker desire. “This is quite the event, are you planning to make a purchase at the auction?”

Honestly, Kues wasn't particularly mindful of whether or not Sayo actually knew whether or not she was the CEO. While Kues didn't make any effort to hide the fact, it wasn't exactly public knowledge either. If you looked into the corporation, it wouldn't be too hard to find out, especially since one of the corporations shared Kues's name. Then again, considering the type of event this was, and where it was hosted, a lot of the guests probably knew who Kues was by just her appearance.

While respect and politeness was generally what you would expect from the higher ups of corporations, it was probably wasted on Kues, considering she didn't particularly mind people being disrespectful, which probably explains half of her employees... Kues was also probably the furthest thing away from a formal, business like person. "Don't tell me you are going to be as rigid with manners as the rest of the people here~ Here I was hoping to get a break from all that of that~☆" ...While it could easily be taken as a joke, it was probably the exact opposite of what you would expect from not only a CEO, but a host of what was pretty much a party.

Well, not that Kues saw herself as the host. After all, it was Revache who was the true host of the party. Kues simply provided a venue.

At least, that is how it worked in her mind.

"Rie Enterprise~? So your family have finally taken an interest in the darker side of business~? Trust me, it is a lot more interesting than that boring daytime business~☆" Which is why Kues left the day to day running of her corporations to the presidents... "I may purchase something if something catches my eye~ I hear that they have something particularly interesting for this auction, so we will see~☆ You may want to consider purchasing too, after all, there are a lot of items you cannot normally get~ Even with a corporation's pocket~☆" While Kues didn't actually say it, Sayo wouldn't have much of a problem working out Kues meant items you couldn't purchase legally, such as one of a kind goods that have been stolen, and so on.

Meanwhile, in the room, the rest of the guests appeared to have their eyes on the elevator, as if expecting someone. While it was still some time before the auction, it wasn't long until the chairman of the Revache & Co. was scheduled to meet the guests, and needless to say, those looking to improve their blackmarket connections were more than ready to jump at the opportunity to meet with the chairman of a Mafia.

“The Rie Enterprise is always interested in good business, it doesn’t matter which side of law that may lie. Although, you can say I am acting on my own, attending this event is purely for my own interest and pursuit. I have also heard the darker side of business could be quite a thrill.” Sayo’s family didn’t know she was attending this event or what her new curiosity are. If they bother, they could easily figured out what she was up to. She wasn’t purposely keeping it a secret from them, she plan to tell them...eventually. The business wasn’t going to be her’s until a long time, since both of her parents are still quite young, so it would be productive for Sayo to do her own thing.

She dwelled on Kues advice and nodded. This is a rare opportunity to purchase something not found in regular consumer outlet. She didn't have anything she peculiar want, “Then if an object does catch my attention, I may make a purchase.”

Kues was quite odd, Sayo had picked up on the joke the CEO made. It felt so improper not to show manners especially with someone of a high status but if it what she want then Sayo would do so. Sayo didn't know Kues was in the Mafia circle until recently and it surprised her how comfortable she was. “You must have quite the connecting to be providing a venue for The Schwarz Action.”

Many of the guest seem to be anxiously waiting for someone as their eyes were on the elevator. Sayo took quick glances at the door in anticipation and she jokingly mused, “It seems the elevator is enjoying quite the spotlight.”

Kazuya

"Hey Ronove, there's a mafia party happening, but I don't want to go. You go instead."

"Lady Nietzche, my name is-"

"Don't care. Go."

And that was all the information he was given. With little more than a “because I said so” as incentive, Kazuya found himself in a strange tower downtown, practically against his will. Arriving at the “mafia party” in the one-winged suit of his job, his trademark white scarf, and with an invitation card in his pocket. True, the invitation was for Lady Weiss (or Lady Nietzche, the difference between the two is still something he’s working on), but the symbol on his suit should hopefully allow him to pass off as someone more important in the Family’s employ.

"I see, so that means that your partner isn't from your family after all~☆" Seeing as Sayo Rie said she was acting on her own, it was safe to assume that were family probably weren't aware she was attending this gathering. "But don't expect this particular party to be any more amusing than the usual business parties~ After all, the Mafia are here to make sure nothing goes wrong, if anything goes wrong, they lose a lot of money after all~☆" Despite apparently having good relations with the Mafia, as well as hosting the party, it wasn't difficult to pick up that Kues wasn't particularly thrilled by the thought of an eventless night.

Then again, this is the person who didn't seem to mind having her last headquarters bombed by terrorists. Then again, they were insured, so they gained more than they lost.

"You can say we have a little history~ Plus, this is the first time my venue is being used to host the auction~☆" When Kues says little history, she meant a long history, although that much was probably obvious. Ironically, it wasn't actually Kues's idea to host the auction, but rather, someone working under Kues.

Meanwhile, at the entrance, the Mafia guarding the entrance took a good at the invitation handed to them by the butler. Since Nietzsche didn't mention it, he was probably unaware that the invitations didn't actually have names written on them, which meant he would have no problem entering. After taking his name, Kazuya would be allowed into the building, where he would be guided by another member of the Mafia to the elevator, and be taken to the floor where the party was being hosted.

As the doors to the elevator opened, several heads turned, only for disappointed sighs to leave their mouth as they realised it was not the leader of the Mafia, but instead, Kazuya who was stood inside the elevator...

"You'll see soon why the elevator is attracting so much attention~☆ He should becoming soon, after all~☆"

Poor Kazuya, he just had to pick the worst time to enter the room.

“I see.” Sayo commented quietly. This ‘he’ must be an important person if the guest seems to holding their breath and if the lady herself were to mention this individual. Probably someone at the center of the mafia trade or someone more important. But the person inside the elevator, as of now, was someone she did not expect to see. Kazuya Kuze, a boy in her school and whom she met a couple times before. To see him here made she a little regretful, because if she knew he had connections, she should have tried harder to befriend him.

“I’m guessing you’re not talking about him.” The guests response indicated that he had little importance compared to who they were waiting for. But he must still have strong connections if he came here by himself. Sayo nodded to him, hoping he would see and recognize her. She wasn’t comfortable with someone from Hyakuji noticing her since she could get in trouble from school. But he probably won’t tell on her for being at a nefarious event if he was also attending.

She turned her attention back to Kues, though her eyes lingered on the elevator. “Do you personally know him?” It was impolite to directly ask about personal relationships but since Kues didn’t care about manners, a small question should be okay. Sayo was talking about the important man they were waiting for but she didn’t specify in the question on which ‘him’ she was asking about: Kazuya or the important guy. She purposely left it ambiguous to get a hint on Kues’ thought process, who has her attention right now?

Kazuya
Kuze
As Kazuya was lead by the “Mafia” member into an elevator filled with “mafia” members, Kazuya attempts to keep a straight face. Despite that, his feelings of nervousness are betrayed by his nervous sweating. Or perhaps it’s the fact that he’s the kind of weirdo who wears a scarf in this temperature. Could be both, although Kazuya is hoping the large and possibly angry men think it’s merely the heat. After a few awkward moments for all involved, with Kazuya so deep in his own little world that he wouldn’t hear if they were talking about where to hide his body. However, the moment the elevator door opens on where he is supposed to go, he moves out as quickly as possible, without running or making it SEEM like he’s trying to move fast. It’s a tricky maneuver to pull off, but he attempts it anyway. When he clears the elevator, he looks around, before seeing one recognizable face in the crowd.

Well, if Ms. Muffler is in this crowd, surely this can’t be a crowd of mafia people. Lady Nietzche must’ve been making fun of him, to make him believe that...
