OOC A new dungeon was announced on the news section of this particular world, a world for those who liked treasure and adventure. Most of the people who wanted to participate stayed up during the very late hours of the night in order to get first glance, hoping to bag the best treasure and sell it for a huge profit to those who would be late to the party. The town hub was very lively, the current theme looking like some sort of market square, merchants and npc's buying and selling to those who were gearing up. "What kind of level do you think it looks like?" Asked one participant, "I bet it's another mechanical city. The creators like those kinds for some reason." It was mostly Elizabeth who created the levels, mechanical cities being a favorite of hers for obvious reasons for those who actually knew what she was. The announced time was only minutes away, the sound of people gossiping about this and that could be heard. "Hey, I heard from a friend that one of the developers might be around when we're out explorin'," said a young woman in what appeared to be some modified samurai outfit. "Oh neat, you think we can fight them if we find them?" Asked another, this one in some kind of western look. "Don't be an idiot. They're creators! You think we'd actually stand a chance against someone that made the thing?" "Heh, you're right." Everyone seemed to be decked out in some sort of fashion that didn't adhere to one specific genre, thanks to the multi-faced worlds that'd appear. The only thing stopping the players from heading to the new dungeon was a hologram that took the form of a fence, a marquee of text moving from right to left that stated, "Maintenance; Please Wait" The time was near, those at the vendors were finishing up their purchases and rushing down near the entrance. What was once a noisy market was now a quiet waiting line, ready for it to open and allow entry. There were people who would lone wolf it while guilds were present, defending each other since there were no real rules in regards to who does what. Seconds went by, time dragging on as if it were minutes instead. Suddenly, the marquee stopped and revealed a new text that read "Standby" in yellow, adrenaline pumping through everyone as they knew one more second would start the frenzy. The text then vanished as did the hologram of the gate, scenery appearing behind the gate and revealing a freakishly large castle with its drawbridge slamming down to the ground; dusting kicking up due to it dropping so suddenly. Once the gate was down, the lead was out. Everyone made a dash for the entrance, people splitting up to take the castle from multiple points instead of the easy main entrance. "Hah, watch me get first dibs on something really good!" shouted a large young man just before bursting through one of the castle walls. |

Beware The Penguin Emperor
|
Thankfully for the girl, the agility that she possessed in real life was irrelevant in the game. Carol's character, ARISINA FALDIEN! noticeably written in full caps, carried herself with a graceful gait accompanied by flowing twirls and ballet skips as she made her way through open streets. Her white dress, tight as a corset above while flowing naturally downwards with multiple layers right below her knees had a red ribbon place into the chest. It contrasted with her bright pink hair with coloured stars on it by making it stand out. She closed in on the entrance looking at the stampede of players that would rush in as soon as the new dungeon was unveiled, disregarding theme rhyme or reason. Quickly, Carol had made her way to the middle of the crowd before she shouted. "NOW WHO WANTS TO PARTY WITH ARISINNAAA FALDIEN THE WAR DANCER!?" Disregarding the interest of others's ears, especially those close by, she made a statement loud enough that it wouldn't be entirely surprising if the, technically unborn as of the moment, enemies they would find in the next dungeon would notice. In the meantime, she pulled out her daggers and started playing around with them, throwing them and catching them dancing with them and generally showing off. That was, until the doors opened, without her knowledge. Players ran, fast as their feet could carry them. They were in a non-PvP zone, however, unit collision still existed, which meant that even if they could not damage her, she could be pushed aside with relative ease, she eventually fell to the ground, angry at having been interrupted, and having to be among the last to enter. |

Seirom Ara, username: check. New appearance: check. Sayo spun around, looking at herself from different angles. Her armor clanked at her movements and she had a feeling they would become annoying as soon as the rush of excitement left her system. She probably looked very silly but since no one knew her identity, she doesn’t have a reputation to keep up, right? Online games was new for her. She flexed her fingers and spun around, testing her character. Sayo swung her sword a couple times, enjoying the ‘whooshing’ sound the blade made. She probably should have chose a mage/range related role because of her real powers but this was a change to try something new. She wanted to experience close combat and what better way than in virtual reality. Once she was satisfied testing out her character, she walked over to where people have gathered. Nothing was happening but players was buzzing with anticipation. Sayo didn’t know why, maybe it had to do with a new event but she wasn’t paying much attention when she joined with game. Surely it couldn't be that important. She was caught surprised when people went frenzy and rushed in the open gate. People began bumping into her and she growled at them, wishing she could use her powers. Instead, she pushed back. How childish. Someone fell to the ground and she frowned. How rude, is no one going to help her? She thought, really wishing she could use her powers. She walked up to the fallen girl and offered a hand. “Are you okay?” Edited by Sayo Rie, Jun 25 2014, 06:56 AM.

A figure in the crowd looked around as everyone rushed in, it wasn't really that suprising considering but it was still unexpected. On the positive side they'd go ahead crazily into all the enemies and traps if there were some. Brushing a hand through her avatar's hair she was once again reminded that it wasn't her own. For the hell of it Serenity had decided to create a male avatar. Deciding that the best class was probably a mage due to the area of effect that the mage would possess. She was quite happy with her avatar, while the lack of armor was a bit questionable it did make sense. Movement over protection often won out in most situations, she just had to make sure that she was light on her feet to keep out of the way of the creatures. Walking towards the two others who had seemed to been left behind after the huge crowd rushed past them she smiled at them before kneeling down herself. "Yeah, you alright?" Joining in with these two seemed like a reasonable idea, even if the one on the ground had made it quite clear that she was pretty enthusiastic which was a good trait in this sort of situation. Holding out her hand, she spoke again. "My handle is Chronos, pleasure to meet you both." It would be a wise idea to at least get into a group first, trying to run this solo would be nigh impossible. |

The entrance to the new dungeon was finally settling down with the noise of the chatter moving more inward, leaving the three behind at the entrance. Even from afar, this castle seemed gigantic, impossible to be created in the time it appeared in front of them not some several minutes ago. It was clear that these three would most likely not be getting anything good, or at least others will have gotten it before them. A loud monstrous roar came from within, possibly one of the many monsters that lay within the walls of this newly constructed castle. Of course, explosions could be heard as well due to some of the monsters or even the players' attacks. Everything in the town square was still active despite a majority of the users adventuring into the dungeon; Shops were still selling and buying from other adventurers that didn't care about the new dungeon. One the three came together, they were given notifications to group together, seeing as it was smart to party up in an unknown dungeon. With the amount of people going in, it would still be hard to believe if anything was left. Fortunately the monsters did respawn after a set amount of time so others may enjoy the same experience; The dungeon also had several channels so a thick horde of players weren't flooding the hallways. "I-I'm not too late, am I?" A voice called out from behind them, coming up to the three and then catching their breath, "I was in the wrong town and finally got here."
The person seemed rather feminine, their voice even having a soft spoken touch to it though it was an androgynous voice for sure. "Aww, I guess I am late, aren't I?" He asked, looking around at the town once catching his breath, "You three mind if I join you? I can't really go it alone since I'm a support. I can give you the heals though, and some buffs too!" Having a support added to the team could definitely help them on this mysterious new dungeon, even if they might question their interests in the process. "You would not mind one more, would you?" Another voice was heard, this time appearing beside them as she warped in. The warp was more than likely due to some item she had on her, teleporting her into a local city for whatever reason. "Sorry if I am intruding, please forgive my sudden rudeness."
"My name is Zoralla, I operate the sword and utilize the techniques I have learned. By the current assessment of your group, I can see that it already consists of some form of warrior. I believe if I join, we will be able to clear through the dungeon without much problem at all." Zoralla didn't have much emotion to her words, speaking in somewhat of a cold and almost monotone speech pattern. She was quite stoic for sure, even her upright posture and physical demeanor could foreshadow her personality. With these two random individuals, it was always interesting to think what the person behind the username was like. With the freedom the Digital Layer provided, anyone could play how they've always wanted to live. It was a giant roleplay for most while others, it was a second chance at life. However, a dungeon laid before them that needed exploration. The castle grounds definitely showed signs that a stampede of sorts had made its way through, foot prints laying waste to the grass and mud not far off from the main entrance. The large hole in the wall was still there, left from the large young man who decided to improvise his entrance. |

Beware The Penguin Emperor
|
Not only had she been interrupted, but she had been seen in her worst moment by two others no less. Thankfully, her status as a war dancer allowed her to stand up dexterously and pass it off as part of the act, something she had planned all along. "Arisina Faldien does not fall, she just gives chances to the rest of the players!" The most surprising thing about her statement was that it was a regular exclamation, no shouting at the top of her lungs involved. She looked at the two people that had made haste in helping her stand up once more. One of them looked like some form of knight, her armor was clashing with itself. While the guy appeared as a mage of some sort. Completely and prejudicially categorizing the mage solely based on appearance, she decided that he was a fire user. Afterwards, another girl, one with a rather odd voice closed in, explaining quickly that she had been in the wrong town at the wrong time. Helpfully, the newcomer stated her possible contributions to the team. "Of course, Arisina Faldien is generous enough to grant others the possibility of a team." Deciding by herself that they were already a party, and that she was the designated leader, despite her absolute lack in any form of qualifications, she allowed the polite person to aid them in their quest, the same she had forgotten when trying to protect her pride. Soon after, an experienced looking player made her way towards their group, popping in the same question that had been asked moments before. Understanding that having a strong player would be convenient, but still feeling as if she needed to keep the high ground, she threw some words her way. "Yes, definitely, more is better, yes!" And with that she had made the party, even if the party itself had yet to agree to be made with her. The war dancer sent out the following party invitation. Would you like to join "The Spectacle That is Arisina Faldien and Comrades!" party? |

The Spectacle That is Arisina Faldien and Comrades! What a mouthful. It would be smart to join up as she was new to the game and it’s concept. Despite the strange name and questionable leader, the variety of characters would make a strong team and she could see some of them have experience. She accept the invitation. Seirom Ara joined The Spectacle That is Arisina Faldien and Comrades! There were five players, including her, altogether each with a unique role. A war dancer, Arisina Faldien, she was sure the girl had fallen but if the dancer insist otherwise then she won’t argue. She wondered if Arisina was the right person for a leader, perhaps the leader role doesn’t have much power, it would be awful if she was force on command to her own destruction. Second was a mage, Chronos, who seemed far more normal and since he introduced himself, she figured it would polite to return it. “I’m Seirom, lets work together!” A very hypocritical statement since she was already wary about their new leader. Second on the list of normal, or tied for first, was Zoralla who was also the role as her. It would be nice for someone to give her tips since she have no experience at all. Although she hoped the girl won’t steal all the fun. As she already put Arisina on the bottom of the list, healer was in the middle. It probably wasn’t fair since the player done anything odd but nevertheless there was a problem. Boy? Girl? The androgynous look was confusing her. Since there were already three girls in the group, she decided the healer would be a boy until gender was proven. Chronos can have a buddy. “Lets hurry, I wish to see the dungeon.” She allowed herself to express her impatience, normally she would keep it to herself but no one knows it was Sayo playing. No consequence to her reputations. |

Raising an eyebrow as the wardancer in front of her stated that it wasn't a fall at all, obviously it was a total lie but pursuing it any further would be a waste of their time. Starting to have second thoughts Serenity stood up but unfortunately it seemed like the group was pretty much the only option she had, at least if she wanted to go through the dungeon and see how it worked out. Chronos joined The Spectacle That is Arisina Faldien and Comrades! Running another hand through her avatar's hair she looked over at the other two who had approached them. Another support and another melee combatant, it seemed like some kind of deity was on their side this day. Everything that was necessary for a good party, though she was still a bit curious about everyone. Considering the anonymity that the game provided she wondered what the other people where like in real life, it was an interesting train of thought. How much of these personalities were real and how much were fake? She'd probably never find out but it was still an intriguing concept to her. Listening to Seirom express impatient she sighed. "I'd be careful, rushing headlong in is sure to result badly." Clearly she was not thinking tactically, after all going ahead and rushing into the dungeon without any real kind of plan was a bit of a rookie move. "What do the rest of you think?" The question was posed to the others, if they all decided to charge into the dungeon then she would follow and assist best that she could but first she would try to convince them on a wiser course of action. |

Harper gave Arisina a thumbs up once she got and approved the request to join, giggling a bit and giving off a very feminine charm to his excitement. "A-Awesome! Going in a group is always the best!" He said, smiling happily and moving over to stand next to Arisina. "How about you two?" He asked, looking to Seirom and Chronos, knowing already that the other girl was joining since she requested it already. Zoralla stayed in place once she accepted the request, nodding silently at the approval. She was a rather stoic individual, complete opposite of Harper in all meanings. "Once we are all grouped up, let us venture inside and tackle the first wave of monsters we face," he said, looking to them all despite the rest not having given their response to grouping. And just like that, the other two joined in and Harper bounced up and down while cheering. "A five man party!" He said, laughing and covering his mouth slightly, "Oh, I haven't been this excited in a while. It's really cool." Harper blushed slightly, a bit embarrassed that he was getting so pumped up about it. It seemed like a couple members of the group wanted to charge in, ready and willing to go into the unknown. Zoralla shook her head, disagreeing with charging in, Chronos even mentioning that rushing in was a bad idea. "Yes, we must first set up positions. Harper will be in the back, giving us buffs and healing us," she said, starting out the planning phase, "Arisina and Seirom will be dealing most of the damage up close while I attract its attention. Chronos, sit somewhere between you and Harper, that way you can hold off any attacks in case they slip by the three of us. Does this plan sound efficient?" Zoralla looked among the members, Harper nodding with a cheerful smile. Just as Zoralla finished mentioning the plan, some players were teleporting into the town square flat on the ground. "Ugh, that dungeon is tough," one said, getting up and dusting himself off. "Yeah, I didn't expect that trap, well played." It seemed like this dungeon was quite the tough one unlike the previous dungeons that were created, even besting some strong players. Zoralla turned to look at the several players that were warped out, looking back to her own party with determination. "It looks like we will have to be on guard and fully alert when we go in, are you all ready?" Edited by Maou, Jun 30 2014, 08:54 PM.

Beware The Penguin Emperor

"Ha! As expected, Arisina Faldien will be bedazzling the beasts with her killing blows" Having somehow found a way to put herself in the spotlight while also undermining someone else's well thought out plan. To her credit, she did understand the position she had been placed in, and, considering her class, at the very least she would be able to execute on the role she said she would acceptably well. Soon afterwards, two players emerged from the new dungeon that had been recently exposed, both of them exhausted and disappointed from the results of their recent venture. Carol figured that if they wet out so quickly it just meant that they were not as good as she was. She also heard something related to a trap, for a second she wondered what that meant, right before looking at her dress and remembering she could twirl pointlessly. While her self absorbed self contemplation went on, the most experienced looking party member explained that they were to be wary if they wanted to succeed inside the dungeon. Such concern only lead to a single sentence from the self appointed leader that followed the tactics of someone clearly better than her but who still called herself leader, possibly oblivious of the situation. "Worry not, for Arisina faldien will not let her friends fall!" Giving her vouch of confidence in herself, Carol looked at the dungeon, motioning to lead on quickly. "Let us conquer this place as ours!" Thankfully, she was supposed to be at the vanguard. |

She frown when her suggestion was met with hesitation. She clearly did not know how the game works if the first step of defeating a dungeon wasn’t to enter one. Crossing her arms, she let the experienced player strategize a plan. They already have five players, each fulfilling a role that balance the group out. It seemed pretty weird that they have to make plans even though they were so confident about the team's dynamic. Although she wasn’t thrilled with the delay, she tried her best to listen but it was hard understand. Buff? Slips? She didn’t really get it but she understood that she would be fighting next to Arisina and thats all she needed to know. Just then a few members teleported and started complaining about it’s difficulty. Her confidence wavered as she realized that a plan was probably need in order win. Though now that her team was prepared they can defeat what lay ahead. “Let us go.” She said again, this time with determination. |

Serenity nodded, the person leading them knew her stuff. She couldn't have come up with a better plan herself, watching as other players had already started to teleport out she was surprised. Sure it was expected to be hard but to be that hard? Seemed like the idea to go with a plan was a good one, if they just charge in without any kind of forethought it seemed like they would get utterly annihilated, the fact that they managed to make a plan up gave them a massive advantage. When everyone started voicing their want to go in already Serenity's avatar nodded. "We should get started, now that we have a plan and tactics we have a reasonable chance." Gesturing for those who would be in the melee to walk on ahead she waited, her job was to mainly make sure that none of them got to the support. A wise choice, having their healing and buffing disabled would make the dungeon much more difficult. |

Zoralla nodded at the request to begin with the quest, turning to face the entrance and moving inwards. The time has come to begin their adventure into the newly created dungeon, ready to fight whatever may come their way. One of the interesting things about the dungeon was that it was opened at the exact time it was announced to be open, the entire thing built within several minutes which meant it wasn't something that had been worked on for months. That was one of the greatest features of the Digital Layer, or rather, the one who created the dungeon for them. When something new was to be announced, it would be ready without delays. The castle entrance was a mere fifty yards away, a little bit of a walk for them to get inside the castle itself. The land itself was large, almost as if they had just walked into a teleporter to some far off fantasy land. If the group were to look back, they'd see that behind their entrance was even more land with small towns here and there. The entrance itself showed a window of the location they were just at; the town square. Unlike the town square, the dungeon was pvp and the sound of fighting could be heard echoing out of the castle. Fortunately all the players were split into multiple channels, allowing players to focus on the dungeon and sometimes small scuffles between players. The players were allowed to venture off to the nearby cities but would be pointless since the quest was for the castle itself; the towns were merely for detail instead of having it seem like just an empty world. "Alright, let us make our way inside the fortification," Zoralla said, looking back to the group before moving forward with a steady speed to get into the dungeon as quick as possible. "Let's go, let's go!" Harper said, giggling a bit and waiting for the rest of the group to follow before he went along. Once they entered the castle itself, they'd see that the castle was kept up quite well and not destroyed which some might assume would be the state of it considering the other players. But the worlds were reset for players to have their full experience, allowing them to tackle the dungeon in their own way. The group would enter a large lengthy hall that had doors along the way on either side, possibly containing storage rooms or guest rooms. Beside each door, however, were knights with full suit and a sword grasped with both hands. "Be weary of those knights," Zoralla stated, moving in slowly with her sword ready and looking around the large hallway, "We should check the rooms for supplies of the sorts, there might be some low level loot and we can sell it for gold." Harper continued with the group, following behind everyone and looking forward. The giant doors slowly closed, making no sound until they finally shut with everyone inside. The closing of the door kicked up some dirt near the door, Zoralla looking back quickly and seeing the doors had been shut. "It seems we must clear the dungeon before leaving," she informed them, "This occurrence explains why the two who were ejected from the dungeon did not simply use the way we came in." Harper hung onto Chronos once the door had close, somewhat startled by the sudden bang of the door closing. "Th-That was scary!" he said, the side of his body pressed up against Chronos, "You'll protect me, right? I'm support so I'm quite squishy." Although Chronos was a mage, Harper clung to Chronos simply because he was a guy and he was the closest. |

Beware The Penguin Emperor
|
Upon scuffling to the inside of the castle, the girl made her steps as if she was the master of the castle, no doubt, she fancied herself as such by that point already. She looked around, noticing that the doors behind the were closed, but not understanding the meaning behind that until Zoralla explained that it meant that they would be unable to leave. She understood that rampant PvP was, in all likelihood, one of the bigger reasons as to why the dungeon had been so hard for the players leaving, after all, it was preying grounds for the higher levelled players. But even then, she could not help her exploration instinct, nor her desire to stand out for no reason. "TREASURES ABOUND, ALL FOR THE BEST PARTY AMONG AL!" Surprisingly, she did not mention her name in that sentence, nor did she ignore the fact that she was not alone. However, aside from the fact that it was entirely likely that someone had heard her shout, she did have a point in that the people that did the best would get the best loot. Arisina Faldien ventured herself into a nearby room warning others with only a "This is the way we should go!" Her sentence was not backed up by knowledge of previous games, nor any particular non arbitrary reason. |

“Stop it!” Seirom hissed as the self-proclaimed leader announced their presences in a boisterous manner. It was annoying and might drew unwanted attention to them. She was already uncomfortable that she couldn’t simply walk out when she desire. Tightening her grip on her sword, she glance around expecting enemies to jump in. The interior design made her nervous, especially the decorated knights. She was glad she wasn’t the only one who took notice and be cautious around them. Zoralla seemed the expert in the group as she calmly explained everything that was going on. Then Arisina dashed away without any explanation than her command for them to follow her. Didn’t they have a formation going? What happened to the plan they discussed earlier? She growled and ran after her. Her position was beside Arisina so that’s where she’ll be. “HEY! Don’t suddenly leave!” She called after, following her into the nearby room. It was a stupid thing to say, Seirom realized a little late, since she was also doing the same thing to the rest of her teammates. Lets just hope that they follow and not get split up.
