Jonny jumped slightly when his suggestion was met by the rather sharp tongue of the knightmaster, who explained a few of the... private issues, that would arise from his continued presence.
"H-Hey, I didn't know you'd have running water aboard this thing! A-And I know to respect people's privacy! Though you're right in saying my bosses could learn a thing or two there..." An awkward hand rubbed the back of his neck, forced to confess to some of the eccentricities of the Olympians. It wasn't like he could've told them much different either, both to the sheer familiarity of the lifestyle to them, but also... well...
They were gods, and he had spent his time on their home turf.

Embarrassed and somewhat defeated by the point, Jonny got up as the guides indicated for them to move along, so they might find their quarters on the other side of the ship. As they went, he came to realise - perhaps somewhat obviously - that the vessel was manned entirely by the opposite sex, a matter that could prove... dangerous, given his luck. Considering that, he elected not to inquire about the possibility of a wash - since their rooms were clearly not as fully functional as Sophia's - and instead, focus on getting to sleep. Closing off the room, he set down his bag again, and swiftly changed into some pyjamas for greater comfort. As he laid himself down beneath the covers, he pulled off one particular book he'd hoping to read, and settled in for the night...

He had a surprising good and easy sleep, though he supposed he had some nice dreams to go along with. After getting dressed, Jonny had decided, though with a towel under his arm, to go wandering about the vessel. It was interesting to take in the design, and the aesthetics of the crew, at once so ancient and yet, in other ways, with a more sophisticated take on the norse inspirations. Supposed it made sense, both with the ages to apply revision, but also that the craftsmen (or perhaps more accurately craftswomen?) probably had access to far better resources than the vikings themselves did. After all, they'd made a habit of raiding other cultures for a reason...
Though, briefly pausing, Jonny had to wonder about the gall of deities that might condone such behaviour. Perhaps the knightmaster shouldn't have been so quick to judge about his set of patrons?

Briefly passing into the library, he picked up a book from the shelves, and attempted to see if he might be able to read. He certainly knew his english and japanese well enough, and a few passing bits of french and german, but beyond that, was decidedly less well acquainted with foreign tongues. If he couldn't make out a lick of it, he'd put the book back, but if he could, he'd take it along with him as he went back to walking about, reading its contents as he went along.
Eventually, he came to the dome atop the vessel in his exploration, and found there a familiar person with a familiar name... though for reasons different than what he usually associated with the name.

"I'm told that my imposter made a thing of trying to court as many girls as possible whilst I was away. If that included you, well... sorry." Jonny had found his arrival on the beach not the best time to discuss such things, but, whilst he was here...
"How's the horizon looking? I mean, not exactly the most peaceful part of the world... not that you'd be able to tell from up here." The boy speedster slightly edged towards the limits of the dome, getting part of the view through the clouds, however brief. It... was actually quite breathtaking, even as a desert landscape.

-------------------Inside the chapel…-------------------

“Hmph. At least you know some respect.” Sigrún turned away from Heleth and returned her attention to the statue of the All-Father. “I will be blunt, child of Mastema, if it weren’t for Sophia’s insistence I would have never allowed you to join us. Even then I do not fully trust you, so you should watch your actions while on board my ship.” Her threat was clear, as was her stance on demonfolk.

“Now, if you can understand that I will continue to tolerate your presence here. Besides, we have matters to discuss.” The Knightmaster reached into her armour and produced a letter. “I have reviewed Sophia’s report on the incident at Derweze, and I agree it is a dire issue. Unfortunately, the Gate to Hell is out of our jurisdiction, so the most I could do was deploy a scouting unit to keep an eye on it. I also sent a warning to the Iscariot Order, but it is up to them whether or not to take action.”

She glanced back at the red demon with a small frown. “I suggest you contact your people to prepare for the worst. The Iscariot Order never took us seriously since we are a ‘pagan order’. Their over confidence will be their downfall…”

-------------------Sophia’s cell…-------------------

Upon hearing the sound of a welcome voice the girl smiled, but did not look up from her book just yet. “I’m afraid you’ll have to tell me about it Izumi, windows are apparently considered a structural weakness in this room.” She finished reading and looked up only to see that the Ordinary Magician was nowhere to be seen. “… Izumi?”

She got up off her seat and walked up to the glass wall separating her from the outside world, sitting down on the floor on the other side of the wall when she saw where Izumi was. “Such an unhappy face doesn’t suit you Izumi, though I don’t blame you… I’d be worried too if you were placed in a similar position…”

The girl put on a smile, albeit somewhat forced. “But we’re here so I can get better, right? The people at my Order are experts in stuff like this, they’ll know what to do.” She held up a hand and pressed it against the glass. “So cheer up, for me?”

-------------------The library…-------------------

The bookshelf before Ethan held a great variety of books, with topics ranging from alchemy to warfare to astronomy. It seems like the Holy Valkyrian Order placed great emphasis on the pursuit of knowledge, even on a warship like this. Of course, it’s also possible that the library was well equipped to ensure the crew and the ship’s compliment of soldiers don’t get too bored when they’re off duty.

Among the books, two of them would stand out from the rest in that they were jutting out slightly as if they have been returned recently. The first was a dark blue book labeled “History of the Holy Valkyrian Order” and seemingly filled with records of how Sophia’s Order came to be and their past exploits. The other, a rather heavy black tome, was labeled “Denizens of Asgard”. From the title, one could easily infer that it held lore regarding the gods and goddesses of the Norse faith… including the Valkyries.

Which would Ethan read? Or something else altogether?

-------------------The observation deck…-------------------

“You have no idea, Jonny.” Despite the circumstances Selene giggled a bit as she turned around. “When your double first came to me saying that you had broken up with Ms. Frostfire and that you wanted date me, I punched him in the face.” The young lady laughed and patted Jonny on the shoulder. “I even yelled at him for a good thirty minutes or so before storming off, right in front of a huge crowd too.”

She calmed down and stopped laughing, though the smile remained. “But truth to be told I’m glad it wasn’t you. If it really was you I’d have to apologize to Sophia for saying you were a good man despite your uncanny luck.” She sobered up at the mention of Sophia’s name. “And I do thank you for coming along this time, all of you. Aside from Knightmaster Sigrún and myself, Sophia doesn’t really have anyone she’s familiar with on board, and I’ve been lying to her all this time so I can’t really count as a friend.”

Turning away from the speedster Selene looked out the dome, pushing the topic out of her mind and returning her focus to her duty. “The conflict below doesn’t really concern us, as horrible as it is. As long as neither side makes a deal with demons we won’t be called to fight against them. For now, I watch the skies and make sure no one tries to hinder us. So far it’s been smooth flying, I hope it stays that way.”

Heleth suspected Sophia played some role in having her allowed on board. The green haired demon knew she was little more than an unwanted guest in enemy territory. Sophia's condition was probably source of a great deal of worry, considering the exception they made for her.
Sigrùn made clear she was simply tolerating her, but, after that, she mentioned Dreweze. That was right. The first fallen gate. Sophia said she'd ask her order to help controlling that no Mazikin would make it across. The girl kept her word, and that was just one more reason to help her recovery.

Unfortunately, Sigrùn's words weren't encouraging: it wasn't in their territory, so they informed a group she didn't know and they sent a scouting unit.
Judging by her words alone, this Iscariot Order was some religious group. Given Heleth's knowledge, she concluded they were some Christian and probably fanatical faction.
She let her pendants down and didn't confirm nor deny Sigrùn's claims.

"The Shedims are mobilized to stop anyone from passing. Lady Astaroth is guarding the gate as we speak" Heleth said "I appreciate what you did. Hopefully there will be no need of a real intervention by your part".
Politics and religion were wonderful obstacles hard to overcome. They did what was in their possibilities. Heleth felt it was too little, close to nothing, but they did.
As such, she didn't add anything else.

"When will we reach our destination?" she asked, changing subject entirely.

One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng
"W-well, they're not exactly wrong on that I guess..." ...Though he suppose considering the wall itself is made of glass it's practically only windows and no walls. Probably magic-strengthened windows but still.

...Once again his mind had wandered off elsewhere, her request went over his head as he mulled over the situation they had chosen to put themselves into. And as of now, despite having already been at this point... "...Is there nothing I-... we can do to help...?"

For a moment he had forgotten she has other friends worried about her as well but his point stands. They're tagging along, if not for anything at least for moral support and that would have been good enough for anyone. But Izumi... just can't help but feel like they're just going to end up as extra baggage, not just for Sophia but for those trying to 'cure' her condition too.

He's just blank. He's really not used to not having anything to do, and it's... really disturbing him.

It's not helping that he doesn't really have as much faith in the Valkyries as the others might. He's trying to, okay? Give him a break.

"Ahehehehe..." Jonny gave a slight, uneasy laugh as Selene explained what exactly had occurred with his doppelgänger. Guess he should just be glad it wasn't him...
Fortunately, Selene expressed just that thought a moment later, causing him to genuinely chuckle at how she'd described him to Sophia. Of course, mentioning Sophia then brought their attentions to the whole matter going on, and a slight reveal of Selene's own.
"Let me tell you from experience... friends do sometimes lie to each other. And often those lies can hurt. But it doesn't mean they suddenly stop being your friends. If it did, I wouldn't be here. I'd either be dead, or I'd be locked deep in some cell beneath the British Isles..." And that same experience was part of why he was so supportive of Sophia now. Considering everything his friends at that time had done for him, it was the least that he did the same now.

"But, I suppose you're right. At least demons can make things a bit more objectively clear, rather than how it is down there right now." Though, as he sat himself down against the glass, continuing to read, Jonny did have to wonder a bit on the rules and limitations of magic in warfare. Can't imagine it wasn't restricted in some fashion...
"But it feels almost weird to know that groups like your's even exist. I mean... yeah, I've had my speed all my life, but before Hyakuji, I just considered that an ability, you know? Not part of some wider world where secretive religious orders stood watch against things that most people can't understand." Briefly, he chuckled, as he recalled one other thing...

"And of course, its hard to be a good, christian boy when it turns out you're empowered by an Olympian, and you've spent the last several months in the deepest pits of their version of the afterlife. And of course, they're still a little... annoyed, at some faith from the east taking their worshippers away from them. Haven't been to mass in ages, stopped praying to anyone specifically..." And if one were wondering where this might be going...
"Was there ever anything like that for you? Or for Sophia? I mean... lets be honest, both of you seem to be from parts of the world where 'Thor' is better known as a superhero, you know?" It was leading to this. Since he had the chance, why not delve into how this whole order worked?

"...Though, do try to be quick, I plan on getting into a shower at some point. Or a bath if that's all there is."

Ethan was somewhat surprised by the wide selection he faced. You'd think the reading material would be more limited for an airship, but he guessed that their missions must have taken a long time, needing some form of entertainment to keep them occupied. Now, the only question was where to begin.

'Well, considering I don't have much time... I guess I should do this the other way.'

Ethan quickly grabbed a stack of books, placed them near a desk and a chair, and continued with another stack. After a considerable number of books had been piled nearby, the boy sat in the chair, grabbed a book from the pile, and laid it across the desk. Ethan rapidly flipped through the book, making sure to get one good glance at the page before moving onto the next. When he reached the end, the boy returned the book where he had got it and started again with another book.

'Hm...I'm making good progress in recording the information. Though I guess I should actually go through some of it soon. I think I can maintain enough coordination to go through the books in my hands while going through the ones in my head.'

While the boy flipped through the books, he started to go over what his eyes had actually captured. His first would be "Denizens of Asgard," hopefully with something regarding the war goddess they were dealing with, and the next being “History of the Holy Valkyrian Order."

-------------------The Chapel…-------------------

“Then I pray that your Shedims have what it takes.” Sigrún pursed her lips. While she didn’t say it, it was clear that she didn’t have too much faith in them. After all, they had failed to defend the portal, and that was what caused this mess in the first place. “We shall arrive at our destination late tomorrow. In the meantime you may use our communications equipment to send word back to your people.” With that the knightmaster returned to her contemplations, making it clear that she would say no more.

-------------------Sophia’s Cell…-------------------

Sophia was dismayed that Izumi was so upset. She had thought, or rather, hoped, that she would never see him this upset again after the incident in Tokyo. For it to happen so soon after… The girl shook her head. If she started getting depressed too it would probably make things worse.

“Why don’t you tell me a story?” Sitting back she put on the most sincere smile she could muster. “It might seem childish, but truth to be told all the books in here are really complex. Could you tell me a story about magic? It can solve any problem right?” She knew that Izumi absolutely loved magic, and was hoping that talking about it would cheer him up.

-------------------The Library…-------------------

Flipping through the first book, Ethan would find entries on the many Valkyries that served Odin. There was Eir, the Mistress of Healing, Sigrdrífa, the Bringer of Victory, and Göndul, the Holder of Magic. Finally, he would find the Valkyrie he had been looking for, Sanngriðr, the Harbinger of Carnage.

The entry for Sanngriðr

As for the history of Sophia’s Order, there were long stories of the Order’s founding and their exploits. But one section, seemingly a summary for outsiders, had a condensed version of the events leading up to its origins.

The Founding of the Holy Valkyrian Order

-------------------The Observation Dome…-------------------

“… I suppose you’re right Jonny.” Selene fell silent, but a small smile crested her lips. Even if she had lied to Sophia, it was ultimately for her own good. The young woman listened to his thoughts on her Order attentively and only spoke up again when he had finished. “ I was raised from a baby by the Order so I never went through that religious dilemma. Sophia however… she was born and raised in Italy, so I’d imagine she was baptized before joining the Order. You’ll have to ask her to be sure.”

Upon hearing the young man’s comment about showering, Selene smiled and playfully jabbed Jonny’s arm. “There is a shower, but it’s communal. Though I bet you wouldn’t mind. After all, there’s about a hundred women on board and they’re pretty good loo…”

Suddenly the smile fell off her face and she quickly rushed over the edge of the dome. Looking out they could see two MiG-29s bearing the emblem of the Turkmenistan air force approaching quickly. “That’s odd… I’m pretty sure we have permission to enter their airspace…”

The fighters got closer and closer until they launched a pair of missiles at the Ferox! “GET DOWN!!” Selene pushed Jonny over as one of the missiles struck just outside the dome, shattering it and raining glass over the pair!

-------------------Back in the Chapel-------------------

A second explosion shook the entire airship as the second missile struck, and the knights that were with Sigrun were knocked off their feet. As for the knightmaster herself, the blast didn’t even faze her and she stood like an unwavering mountain, even as alarms started to blare. “Report.”

One of her attendants rushed to a wall panel. “We lost contact with the Observation Dome Mistress! Bridge reports that our engines are damaged!”

“Scramble the Vængr. Find out what attacked us.”

As her attendants rushed to deliver her orders, Sigrún looked over to Heleth and drew her sword. “Perhaps you might have some knowledge of this attack, Ms. Mastema?”

-------------------Back in Sophia’s Cell…-------------------

If Sophia hadn’t been sitting she would have been thrown off her feet for sure as the second explosion had been too close for comfort. After shaking off her daze the girl pounded on the glass at Izumi, worry written all over her features. “Izumi…! This place is dangerous, you have to g…”

Without warning steel walls rose all around the glass, sealing it in. Guards rushed into the chamber fully armed and formed a perimeter around the cell, and one of their numbers pulled Izumi to his feet. “This place will be a battlefield soon! If you want to leave, now’s the time to do so!”

-------------------Back in the Library…-------------------

The explosions rattled the bookshelves and some books were knocked out of their alcoves. Fortunately the shelves were secured so there was no real danger of them falling over. A knight rushed into the library to makes sure that no harm had come to Ethan, and shouted over the alarms. “We’re under attack! I’ll take you back to your room, it’ll be safe there!”

-------------------In Remains of the Observation Dome-------------------

Wild winds tore at the pair as Selene gingerly got off the glass littered ground. A smoldering breach in the ship’s hull a short distance from the dome indicated where the first missile had hit, and the shriek of jet engines sounded overhead as the two interceptors soared past the airship. “U…ugh… Jonny! Are you alright!?” She pulled Jonny into a sitting position against the wall before looking over the edge, and what she saw made her go pale.

What appeared to be a black cloud was closing in from the side, but closer inspection revealed it to be hundreds of winged creatures, all of them armed to the teeth. Meanwhile the interceptors were turning around some distance away, preparing for another attack run.

Selene dived back into cover and scrambled to find her radio, only to find that a shard of glass had impaled it. She grimaced and looked over to Jonny. “Find Knightmaster Sigrún and tell what’s going on. You’re proud of your speed right? GO!”

Giving the speedster one more push she started chanting something and seemed to focus magic onto herself. Was she going to hold them off to buy them some time...?

Heleth briefly wondered if the Shedims could do it. They lost a seal easily, with the help of an insidious and manipulative creature that took her shape and a Goddess.
As long as the Mazikin had gods on their side, it was a battle on uneven ground.

As Sigrùn fell silent, Heleth moved her gaze around the chapel. Places built for holy purposes always had a strange, fascinating aura for the red demon.
Heleth's distraction lasted briefly though, when a vibration shook the whole ship.
"What the!?" Heleth's hair widened as she lowered her body in response to the shaking.
A second, much stronger vibration propagated through the room, and all the people in the chapel except Sigrùn lost their balance.
Heleth was among those that fell, but she used her hair as additional limbs to not hit the ground or the close benches.
Raising to a stainding position, she yelled: "Curses!"

The whole room was undamaged, but panic began to make its way on the faces around her, and probably on her face as well.
The only one that really maintained control was Sigrùn. She demanded a report, heared the answer and drawed her sword, turning toward her.
What followed, combined with the unsheated weapon, sounded like a direct threat to her, based on a wrong suspicion.
"What!? Why!?"
In reality she could easily see why even without asking: she was the unwanted red demon on board.
But it would make little sense! Why would she do something as counterproductive as that? She was on board, why would she want to risk to be blown up? Not to mention she had no idea they'd take a ship like that to travel to Iceland, and no reason to harm Sophia or the other students!

Great. She was about to be killed by a zealous valkyrie, and that just because she wanted to help another one in the first place! Thank you selflessness!
Her dual layered eyes were now on the edge of that sword. The red demon wondered how could she defend from that.
She wasn't Astaroth: she could not summon weapons or stand toe to toe against a Valkyrie to defend herself.

"Eh?"

Of all the things that could be talked about, she wanted to hear a story instead? Needless to say he was a bit perplexed by the sudden request, unsure if it was even something that is even appropriate for the time.

"Magic can solve any problem, right?"

...Huh.

A small grin appeared on his face, before a chuckle, then a hearty laugh. a hearty laugh that actually lasted for quite a while. "Ahahah...! ...Well, if... if you want to..." He finally said as he turned back to her, this time with a genuine smile that reached ear to ear. "Now now, let's see... which one to pick..."

How about this. The story of the Untalented Ordinary Witch of the Woods.

One of the many stories he came up with to tell his siblings for their entertainment. He had to come up with a lot all the time because they do get bored of the same thing every time.

It kept them happy. It makes him happy. Hopefully it makes her happy too. "Okay, okay! Here goes. Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Kiwi from a small village known as..."

Not for long.

"...so then, this bunch of ants got riled up and spoke out in their tiny little voices, 'What about us?! How are we supposed to survive the winter'-"

BOOM!!!

The story that he had been telling so animatedly the whole time was violently interrupted by the first explosion that rocked the entire ship. The Ordinary Magician jumped in fright at the unexpected turn of event, unsure if it was either accidental, natural or purposeful in nature.

BOOM!!!

The second one convinced him completely that whatever caused it doesn't matter at all because it was clearly a sign of worry and danger. "W-w-what's going on?!" The Ordinary Magician whimpered fearfully as he edged as close as he could to Sophia, or rather, the glass wall. "S-Sophie...! W-we have to get you out of there, come- GAH!!!"

All of a sudden steel barricades rose in between them, completely separating the two and causing the Ordinary Magician to leap back with a terrified yelp. As if it wasn't bad enough, guards after guards appeared to form a tight perimeter around the isolated room, preventing anything or anyone from getting anywhere close to the Valkyrie now... practically trapped inside. "H-hey, what are you doing?! If this place is dangerous then she should escape too!"

Ethan was moments away from being done when the first explosion hit. For a moment, he didn't realize what had happened, thinking it was just another strange movement within the airship. However, just as he was getting back to his reading, the second explosion occurred, topping the piles of books he stacked around him.

'Ah, darn it, I was so close to being done.

...Wait, no, that's not right. My priority list must be jumbled for some reason. Right, so, danger, priority above learning obscure knowledge. Good. So...what the heck is going on and how do I get out of this pile of books?!'

Ethan struggled in vain in his self-inflicted torture of being buried under a pile of books, which has gone from number 15 to number 7 in his list of fears of stuff being buried under. Thankfully, a knight running nearby helped him out of the pile and had been instructed to return him to back to his room.

The boy was grateful for the assist, but he still wanted to know what was going on. Unfortunately, trying to write a note while you're running in an airship that is under attack is not very productive or stable. So, Ethan had to resort to asking out loud.

"Excuse me, miss, can you please tell me who is attacking us?"

...but the noise from the alarms quickly buried his already quiet voice into inaudible range. Regretting the situation he was in, Ethan waited until they reached a slightly more quiet part of the ship to ask his question.

"Excuse me, miss. Can you please tell me who is attacking us?"

So, as Jonny suspected, there was likely a deeper story to Sophia's origins, of which he had previously been unaware. Of course, he had been about to just object to the point Selene had been about to infer regarding the communal shower and the crew...
When the next thing he knew, there was something strange afoot. His eyes followed the approaching aeroplanes as they drew near, before briefly thinking to note to the valkyrie a certain point.
"You know, these are muslim, former communist countries we're talking about, so they might not have taken the words of westerners claiming power from the norse pantheon all too-"
Jonny fell silent as the missiles fired.

“GET DOWN!!” He dove even as Selene tried to push him over, cringing slightly as the glass poured over them both. Lightly but rapidly, he tapped at the ground with his hands, causing the loose bits of glass to bounce away from the both of them, so they could get to their feet without too much worry of initial injury. Of course, he was a bit shaken to say the least, so having Selene help him up and prop him against a wall helped, and he shook his head several times as he tried to get his bearings.
"I'm alive, if that's what you're asking..." Jonny worked himself to stand up, getting in a glance at the two soviet era jets...

And realising this may have been a matter other than religion and geopolitics.

"Fine, fine, I'll go! Just don't die whilst I'm gone!" Jonny yelled in response to Selene's commands, wondering if it would ever get like this with the other girl in his life by that name. Turning as he dropped his towel and the book, Jonny raced back down into and through the ship, going on a sub-sonic speed - so that he himself wouldn't generate enough noise to drown out what he had to say.
"UNDER ATTACK! JETS FIRING ON US! CLOUD OF ENEMIES INCOMING!" He bellowed out at the top of his lungs, repeating it several times as he went across every nook and cranny of the vessel that he could find. Including, at one point, the very communal shower he'd been otherwise planning to use.

"Knightmaster!" And at last, he arrived at the chapel, a few tears in shirt where he had almost been sliced apart, a fierce glare in his eyes as he looked to the valkyrie whose title he had just called out.
"Who else knows about Sophia's situation?!" And asked a question that had come to him, once he realised that it was likely not Turkmenistan alone - if at all - acting in this situation.
"Because Selene is fighting to defend the ship up there, and I need to know who would have reason to attack us!"

-----------------Chapel-----------------

Sigrún hovered over Heleth with her sword pointed at the red demon, but after a moment’s thought turned away. “Hmph. I suppose your people have nothing to gain by this attack, but the demons are quite divided, aren’t they?” Before she could say more, Jonny burst into the room demanding answers.

Under normal circumstances she would likely scold the young man for his insolence, but this wasn’t exactly the right time for that. “We have many enemies, especially amongst the Netherworld and the various Hells. However, none should have knowledge of Sophia’s current state unless we have a traitor in our midst.” She paused for the briefest moment to cast a sideways glance at Heleth before continuing. “Selene will do her duty and defend the ship, with her life if it comes to it. Have the Vængr made contact yet?”

“Affirmative, they are reporting hundreds of winged demons in addition to two interceptor fighters flying Turkmenistan colours. They seem to be targ…”

Two explosions shook the ship, one above and one below the chapel. Shortly after two more explosions could be heard, but from far off and didn’t seem to have hit the ship. Considering the ship’s speed and size, it was unlikely that the fighters missed. Did Selene manage to deflect a few missiles?

The attendant steadied herself against a pillar and continued her report. “The Vængr report that they don’t seem to be interested in destroying the ship, the demons are armed with melee weapons for the most part, so capture is more likely. They’re trying to keep the demons away, but they’re heavily outnumbered and taking losses.”

“Order a quarter of the remaining knights to reinforce Sophia’s cell. I will see to the defence of the bridge myself.” As Sigrún’s attendant nodded and returned to her communications, the knightmaster looked over to the two Hyakujians. “As guests I won’t ask you to fight with us, but I don’t expect the demons to show mercy to non-combatants. The choice is yours. Valkyrians, to me!” A dozen knights formed rank around their knight master and she led them out of the chapel to defend their ship, leaving the Hyakujians to their devices.

-----------------The cell-----------------

“Are you insane? If we let Sophia out now Sanngrior will take over and…” A loud boom cut her off as one side of the wall caved inwards, and she pulled Izumi behind her. The knights quickly converged on the breach, forming a shield between it and the steel cell. The breach started to glow in an eerie red light and the wall melted away, causing a cloud of steam to rise.

The next thing anyone knew a winged imp flew out from the steam and latched onto the nearest knight with its claws. She fell with a scream as more of the imps emerged, howling a bloody screech. The knight that had pulled Izumi back pried the first imp off her comrade and smashed it into the ground, finishing it with a stab of her sword. “The All Father protects, sisters! We will prevail!”

Shouting war cries of their own the knights of the Holy Valkyrian Order cut into the stream of demons pouring in from the breach. The sound of steel on claws joined the shouting and screams of the combatants as both sides strived to control the room.

It seems that in the fray both sides had forgotten about Izumi, until one of the knights fell near him with an imp at her throat. After it was done with its victim, it looked for its next target and its eyes fell on the Ordinary Magician. The imp grinned with its bloodied fangs and let out a feral screech as it leapt at him with outstretched claws!

-----------------The Corridors-----------------

The knight escorting Ethan grabbed the young man and pulled him against herself as more explosions rocked the ship. “I don’t know, but I’ll be damned if I let something happen to you.” She was being oddly protective of Ethan for someone who had just met him.

After heading towards the sleeping quarters for another moment she paused, holding a hand up to her helmet as if listening to something. “… It’s worse than I thought, demons are attempting to board the ship. I’ve been called to defend the bridge, do you want to come with me? It might be safer than your room at this rate…”

One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng
He called it didn't he.

He totally called it.

Isn't this thing supposed to be a fortress too, why are they being overrun from what he's seeing?! Little devilish creatures and demons are swarming from that hole they just made, and it wasn't even a few seconds that they're already outnumbering the guards, and god knows how many of them are still out there just waiting to come in!

It was a mess. A mess would be a terrible understatement, it's a damn chaos, everything happened too fast and too sudden for the Ordinary Magician to be able to handle. What the heck could he do anyway, the conflict going on in front of him was... too much for him. There were fighting here and there, demons and fighters alike falling to blades, teeth and claws.

In the midst of all of it, the Ordinary Magician felt so useless.

Another guard is down. That's unfortunate.

That demon had its eyes on him.

...Oh.

No wait, don't-!

WHACK!!!

Out of nowhere before the imp could lay its claws on him, a certain flying besom broom belonging to the Ordinary Magician just flew in and smacked the little demon out of the air and away from him! "Y-you!" The Ordinary Magician's momentary terror quickly turned to gratefulness at the sight of his flying broom lightly hovering around in the air as though it was dancing. However did it manage to find its way to its master in the ship, he wouldn't bother finding out.

They're still not out of the situation though.

..Che, come on come on, think of something...! There has to be something he could do...

...

"Everyone get out of the way!" The Ordinary Magician yelled out as loudly as he could to get everyone's attention. He was standing in front of the melted breach on the ship's hull, his hand raised in front of him and holding a certain miniature trigram furnace of a sort, aiming it at the breach to the outside. It was giving off a very bright, very vivid golden glow, and a very powerful signature of raw magical energy, a testament on his intention.

Seriously, get out of the way.

"MASTER SPAAAARK!!!"

Following his chanting was a deafening boom and a massive blast of raw magical energy bursting out of the little mini-Hakkero, out through the breach and to the outside world, very much akin to a rocket exhaust, blowing away anything unfortunate enough to be in its line of fire!

Hidden in the middle of the blast was the flying besom broom, being propelled out at high speed!

It was just a short, albeit very powerful burst. He doesn't need to use any more than that to clear the way, because he will be needing it for something else.

Rush forward and leap off the breach and into the air!

His faithful broom was waiting for him just outside, all he needed to do was snatch it, clamber up to it to a proper riding position before rocketing off!

Not before a small glance back at the ship he had left behind. Hopefully... hopefully the guards would keep her safe in there...

Because he's going to be too busy keeping everyone safe from out here!!! "Are you guys cowards or something, don't go picking on a ship that can't even fight back!!!" The Ordinary Magician yelled out, raising the mini-Hakkero in front of him and firing off jets after jets of concentrated magical energy at the massive flock of demons!

...Right, there's also the jet fighters, aren't there?

...Let's hope the broom can handle the stress of supersonic flight speed...

Heleth was out of options.
It was blatantly obvious that anything she'd say would be taken the wrong way.

Luckily, Jonny arrived into the chapel in a burst of speed, gaining Sigrùn's attention.
Heleth stared at his teared clothes. Apparently he got in a fight already.
He posed her a legitimate question: he wanted to know who could know about Sophia's condition.

The red demon too wanted to know. It was why she was here. Hopefully Sigrùn knew something more, and the situation could push her to say it.
Nope. Sigrùn seemed to be sure that someone spilled it out, and that someone was the one threatened by her weapon: that glance left no doubts.

For Heleth, this actually meant there were high chances Sigrùn's doubts were right, just misdirected. There was a traitor among them. Someone that could gain something by letting Sanngriðr take over Sophia's body.

Heleth waited until the Knightmaster began to move away, gathering her troops, before moving herself. This wasn't going to be easy. She definitely didn't expect things to get out of hand so fast though.
"Overzealous paladins!" she whispered, her hair disposing itself into four strands, two on her back, and two on the front of her shoulders.
The strands sharpened, appearing like 4 pointy green tentacles.
"Always zealous, obnoxious and full of themselves...their beliefs makes their eyesight so narrow it's embarassing!"

If anyone had doubts, it was pretty clear Heleth didn't like being falsely accused.
The dual layered eyes of Heleth stared at Jonny. She barely heard voices about what happened to him in the past. Someone took his identity while he was captive somwhere. That meant that it was probably the very first time she was speaking to the real one. Assuming he was the real one.

Considering she was just thinking about finding a traitor, this observation came out at a very wrong moment.
"I'm going to Sophia!"

The girl began to run toward the cell below the chapel. The ship was trembling and losing stability, but that didn't hinder her too much.
Sounds of a fight could be heard as she approached Sophia's cell. Then she saw them. Imps. Imps fighting some other valkyries just right of Ssophia's prison.
Tiny little irritating devils. At least she should be able to dispose of them rather easily.

Her hair sprang into life, the four tentacles growing in length as she advanced.
"You..."
A strand moved fast, piercing through the closest Imp as the second strand was advancing, grabbing a second one by the tiny neck, causing it to gasp in surprise.
"...tiny..."
The strand tugged it out of the way, flinging it on the closest imp her eyes focused on.
"...little..."
The third strand pulled a third imp by its foot, slamming it on the ground.
"...mazikin..."
The fourth strand pierced through a fourth imp. The first two strands were ready to attack other imps.
"...stay out of my way!"

A yell from Izumi before a sudden deafening sound entered her ears, strong enough to have her cover her ears with her hands. She could see a blinding light coming from the room.
"Curses!" she yelled, her fangs well visible as she did so.
Two strands ran on the walls to prevent her fall, as the ship began to vibrate like mad.

A strand sharpened on an edge and she let out a wide swing to quickly clean her path from dazed imps. She had to see what happened!
She finally reached the room, only to see thick metal walls, valkyries fighting, and Izumi jumping out of the ship!
"Curses!"

Jonny also cast a glance at Heleth roughly the same time as the knightmaster, but with reasons almost the opposite. Where she looked upon the demon with suspicion, Jonny did so with concern. It was obvious who the knightmaster would have been gunning for, had Jonny not just stepped into the door frame.
But as he tried to listen in on a nearby valkyrie making a report - likely to have a more definitive understanding than he would by a simple glance, explosions shook the ship. One below them, one above... could be deliberate, could be the aim was off. Could be...

Steadying himself, Jonny listened as the theory about a capture as the motive of the assault was rattled off, and Sigrun offered the two students their options here. Or rather, the thing they could do, and the thing they would invariably do because they were Hyakuji High School students.
And since Heleth and a number of others were already on their way to defend Sophia...
"I'm heading back for Selene!" He was going back to help the girl caught up in the initial brunt of this attack. A red streak shot through the ship, ascending up and up towards the observation dome...

And as he emerged, he'd make a quick run around the edges, trying to get a full sweep, and to try and sweep away any potential, uninvited guests. The joys of turbulence.
