Heleth stopped, her hands on her head as a sea of informations and voices cut through her mind. "Curses!" she moaned. Why were they doing that!? Why insisting in broadcasting thoughts to everyone? The red demon's head, usually a silent monologue with a somewhat ordered dialogue didn't seem to appreciate that condition at all. "I can't focus at all! How is that thing supposed to listen if everyone speaks on each other's words?" For all intent and purposes, her complaint could only be heard by those in her proximity, since she shouted it out loud. The dual layered eyes of Heleth looked for possible enemies in her proximity, including the student known as Lenny. Heleth realized she didn't even know who he was and how she could reckognize him. Nontheless, she was now wary that a traitor was in their ranks. Trying to suppress the sudden stream of voices in her head, Amelia kept her attention on the still unconscious girl she was healing. A hint of irritation appeared on her face when Heleth screamed out loud, but she didn't really pay attention to that loud girl. Then, the monster resumed its motion. A step closer to them. It was time to leave from there. "Uh oh!" Heleth voiced her surprise. "Curses! Let's get out of here!" After a look at those in the proximity, she was forced to run away. One more step of that thing, and they were going to be squashed. The red demon made her way in the middle of Hyakuzor's remains, and stopped brefly. "What the hell are you waiting for!?" "Tch" Amelia rose to her feet, the unconscious girl in her arms. "She is right, we have to move away from here" Her red eyes stared at Seth, completely wrapped in green-like bandages. He seem somewhat better than before. Could that green haired girl be able to heal with her unusual hair? "I'll make sure she'll be alright." she said to him A deep breath, a jump. Amelia quickly put some distance, in an attempt to reach a safer spot. ---- "Puah!" Moving as fast as he could in the middle of those deformed but unconscious creatures, Frederic finally expressed his personal disgust as his knife slid through the throat of the latest one he killed. Those were horrific abherrations, he thought. How could a student in their school actually make things like those, and even use them against his own kind? His thoughts mattered little. He had no idea why those animals were unconscious, but their numbers were still high. A single student had an overwhelming power on his hand, stopped only by that anti-magic-pulse-whatever that was used coincidentally in the area. His knife repeated the previous operation on the closest, comatose monster. Who knows how long that would last. He probably could kill just a few more of them before they would resume their plan of destruction. Rinse and repeat. The man wondered if those things were really alive in some form, or were just animated shells. Rinse and repeat. "Puah!" he shouted again. ---- "Come on it's our chance to..." "Shut up kid" Naja was slowly ascending, an attempt to enlarge her field of view and see more of the city, looking for anything that could be used to hinder the monster's advance even to gain one more second. It was more than obvious to her that any physical attempt would be useless. There had to be some other way. Hanging above the sea, carried by this woman, Aya was far from relaxed. Why the hell she kept rising up? As her eyes ran, scanning the distant rooftops, two, distant figures entered Naja's field of view. As distant as they were, she was still able to discern some details. Their clothes. Nieves and Saigyouji were there. They...she had to speak with them. Maybe they had control on that monster. They were designed as kings and winners. "It seems....my masters....we end this competition....at a draw!" That mysterious man's voice resounded in her head. "Our answers are incomplete on their own. For the sake of the world's happiness, we have to work together. If there is only one victor of the new age, it will be a dark age, indeed. That is the conclusion I have come to." Nieves words...she really understood a lot already back there. Like a sudden realization, everything was clear. The organizer of this clearly explained everything. "You are the ones who will be left with the decision of what to do. Once this beast destroys all, you will be able to take that which is destroyed and remake it. Anything this beast destroys, you can reform it as you see fit. You can make the world exactly as your mind pictured it, as soon as this current world is eliminated." "3 people...that could be troublesome. I suspect that's why he put you all on equalish-footing. You three could choose till kill the other. That's the only way you can die, I suppose. Then you'd take their power and authority, and be one less person to rule with." Then and there, Naja knew what was about to happen. It was the plan of that mysterious man since the beginning. Equal winners, but with ideals that would clash together. Everyone with indirect control on it. If it had to destroy to follow their ideals, it would never stop. Not even for them. It would destroy until they would come to an agreement. Without warning Naja turned herself into air, along with the girl that she was carrying, and flew, as fast as she could toward that rooftop. She had to speak with them. She had to make them reason, it was the only way. Instants were minutes, as she tried to close the gap. She knew what was about to happen, she realized it the second she saw them. It was time to abandon that human shape she kept all this time, because she needed her full power and put everything in the upcoming fight. Nieves closed the gap with saigyouji in an instant. Maybe it was already too late. A dazed Aya materialized from a gust of wind on the roof, just an instant before Nieves's attack could connect. Beside her, a towering snake like being, but human shaped from the torso to her head, flailed her tail like a whip toward the ascetic woman, in a last attempt to prevent her action. "Stop!" she roared out. In her mouth, long, fanged teeths were visible. Aya took a few steps back, in both an attempt to regain her balance and for the surprise. Naja Sibaris revealed her true appearance. Not that of a human but that of a legendary lamia. Edited by Sota, Jun 12 2014, 05:45 AM.

Eva was oblivious to all the telepathic chatter around her, she wasn't even aware of what they were trying to do. Her lack of an actual organic brain meant she was incapable of taking part in any of this communication, so she left it in the capable hands of her allies. What she did however, was continue her hunt for Lenny Barron’s hive mind. Her request for his location went more or less unanswered, though it was understandable that they were all caught up in their own matters. However, her satellites did find something that seemed rather out of place: a Heavy-Lift Ship in dock. It didn’t look like a combat vessel, and all other types of ships had long since evacuated when word got around that the monster was coming this way. So what was it doing here? Eva ordered her a squad (eight) of EVA androids to investigate the Heavy-Lift Ship, suspecting it to be Lenny’s hideout, while she and the androids with her continued firing upon the disabled haemonculi. They wouldn’t be out of action for much longer as the effects of the PNP began to wear off, so she did what she could to kill as many as possible. At the wreckage of the fallen Hyakuzor, evacuation of the wounded had been more or less completed as Seth and Youma were pulled out. A sudden rumble signalled the monster’s continued advance, and made it clear that staying here was no longer safe. “We will take it from here.” Amelia and Heleth would suddenly find themselves being lifted off the ground and the doctor would find Youma taken from her as EVA androids started flying them and Seth away from the front lines. Whatever it is Hiro was doing, Eva hoped it would work. If the monster landed... there would be hell to pay. Edited by Sophia Antistita, Jun 12 2014, 06:31 AM.

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
|
"Mac, you really should realize how amazingly stupid you are. We're in the middle of a battle and you're pointing a gun to the head to a blonde twin pigtailed girl, ranting on about 'power' or whatever." The fine edge of Excalibur rested only a few centimeters from the left side of the old man's neck, a single twitch could behead the elderly man in a instant before he could change targets. Shad's eyes were hardened, lethal at the moment, as he prepared to perform the killing stroke. Sometimes it paid to be short, some unknown stranger nearby who hides a long legendary sword on their person before weilding it professionally to cut a person down from behind without a trace of empathy. "The fact remains is that whatever 'strength' you may be referring to, it is pointless until someone finds a spot on this creature that actually causes it to feel pain. I don't know who you are, and I don't honestly care since you're nothing more than a distraction, someone who wants to die in a stupid manner." With that, Shad 'twitched' the sword to drive and slice right in to sever the golden skull from the neck swiftly in a millisecond, seeing that the enchanted sword was designed to cut down evil. 'And you! If your purpose is destruction, then prove it to all of us right now! Destroy what makes you duty bound, your absolute loyalty to your orders, and set yourself free from the ties and contract of which binds you to commit this act against this planet! If you do not, then that only shows you do not want to destroy, but that you are incapable of making choices that allow you to destroy what you want, when you want it. Because quite frankly, whoever told you your so-called masters can make perfection is a dirty, shallow, dirt-licking liar as you are the only 'perfect' being here. And they certainly can't make another of you, since you are one-of-a-kind. Anything else they could make is a pale imitation, not even close to pure perfection, and you know it for a fact.' Shad thought over to the creature, not really concerned with it at the moment given how much distance was between them. Should the old man be truly out of the fight, Shad would have to save Fate when she returned from whatever weird rage the guy sent her in by using his first-aid kit to not only pull out the bullet, but to patch up the stomach wound. Plus, he still had a senzu bean, just in case of this sort of emergency. Edited by Super Hurricane, Jun 12 2014, 11:45 PM.

"So that's what it is..." Lavender mused as her mind was abuzz with voices as Hiro tried to communicate with the apocalypse beast, and as Mina opened what essentially amounted to a telepathic equivalent of a LAN, allowing those in the vicinity to listen in on the telepathic communication, as well as to themselves try to reason with the creature, perhaps diplomacy might succeed where force had failed. And for a moment, there was a hope spot as the apocalypse beast halted in its tracks... albeit only temporarily before continuing on its warpath, revealing that attempts at reasoning was simply that - a hope spot that was extinguished as abruptly as it appeared. Still, at least information was gleaned from that brief moment of contact with the creature's "mind", revealing that it was really little more than a tool, whose sole purpose for existing was to fulfill the Heavenly Kings' desires. And would only cease to be once its "masters" wishes were fulfilled. "So one might say all this while we're fighting not a creature proper... but an ideal; or rather, a manifestation of ideals..." Lavender remarked, making her thoughts audible to all those who were telepathically linked. "And ideals are bulletproof," Jen chimed in with her thoughts, while over at her position on the hilltop the girl had for some reason donned a Guy Fawkes mask. "For Christ's sake, Jen-chan, now isn't the time..." came Lavender's annoyed rebuttal. She was kind of expecting Jen to make a reference along these lines. About fighting an ideal, and how ideals can't be killed - it was predictable that being as media-savvy as she was the girl was going to make that V for Vendetta reference. "Sorry, Lavender-sensei. Attempting a bit of casual danger dialog to try and stave off everyone's fear, I mean, did you just see what happened? Some of them down there are still attacking the beast... I dunno, desperation perhaps? Maybe hoping for a miracle or something, or perhaps just looking for go down with a final hurrah?" And with that Jen became silent on the telepathic network, not wanting to flood the channel so to speak, instead turning her attention back to the Brazilian who was with her. "Oh Jesus..." Lavender groaned with exasperation as down on the ground below there were still ongoing fireworks from a few that were still desperately assaulting the apocalypse beast, despite everyone's earlier efforts already proving that hitting it - and hitting harder - were a waste of energy. "Look, I know the current situation looks hopeless but this isn't a cause for you to throw away your lives recklessly!" the aeromancer broadcasted her thoughts. "All is not lost, perhaps the answer would lie in the entity's masters," Selene's own thoughts joined the sea of mental voices. "Perhaps we can seek its masters, and try to reason with them. Perhaps all that's needed is for its masters to come to a consent that the world is perfect as it is and there is no need for its services..." "Well yeah," Jen interjected as she rejoined the "channel", the girl meanwhile taking off and putting away her Guy Fawkes mask. "Seriously, you should save up your energy for what counts, and that's to look for the beast's masters! Okay, now where were we?" "As crazy as it sounds, Senhor Abe... I managed to get into that creature's mind just now... I don't know if you did too," Jen turned her attention back to Abe, having spent the whole time multitasking between telepathic communication and speaking to the Brazilian anarchist and listening to his heart-wrenching confession. "And I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your family," the purple-haired girl continued, putting a hand on Abe's shoulder. "But back to the point... I don't think it's too late to make amends at this point if you sincerely felt this whole thing has been a mistake," the purple-haired girl continued. "As I said just now, thanks to Tsukasa-sensei I got into the thing's mind," Jen remarked, pointing to her temple. "Told us that he is but a tool, bound to its duty to destroy and remake the world as you - its masters - desire, and only when its masters are pleased, will it consider its duty done and thus cease to be... or that was what it says anyway," the purple-haired girl continued, sitting down next to where Abe lay. "So, Senhor Abe... are you thinking what I'm thinking B1?" Jen asked as she looked down at him with an empathic smile. "So here's the crunch time... whether despite all of its injustices and troubles... do you feel you can accept the world as it currently is? Perhaps, that there is no need to wish for a world reborn, because for all the ugliness of an unjust, troubled world there still exists beauty, and said beauty is worth protecting?" Jen asked as her eyes wandered over to a small white flower near where Abe lay. "That's really something only you can decide for yourself sir... but for your sake, for everyone's sake, I trust you won't let us down won't you?" Jen gave Abe one last look, her smile never leaving her face as she stood up, before sauntering back towards her laptop with her arms spread out like wings, and proceeding to play an MP3 on her laptop. "Speaking of masters... I think I saw one of them," Lavender remarked as her eyes wandered towards a rooftop some ways off, the first thing that tickled the aeromancer's senses being a powerful gust of wind. So considering that the weather was mostly a slight drizzle at the moment, said wind wasn't due to the weather. And which left only one conclusion; that the former king had made her move. "Well, this is it... time to get psyched!" Lavender cracked her knuckles as her vortex picked up speed and intensity, and with a dull boom and a ring-shaped nova-esque burst the aeromancer took off at full speed, tearing across the gap with a brilliant lavender wake trail marking the skies, slowing down as she neared her destination, before stopping to a hover as she was right above Aya and Naja's position just as the Lamia moved to attempt to intercept Nieves' incoming attack. "You heard the lady, Nieves! Aerowhip!" Lavender added as she stretched out her left arm, part of the swirling vortex around her limb extending outwards with a loud swoosh in a mass of ethereal-looking lavender colored ribbons, the elemancy-controlled gusts of "solid" air looking to restrain Nieves' arms, while others would attempt to ensnare her legs, waist and neck in Lavender's bid to hoist the ascetic into the air. "Look, people have died back there... and I'd rather not see a lot more die all in the bid to create some perfect world," the aeromancer remarked in a concerned tone of voice as she gestured towards the scene below with her other hand that was holding the MGL, towards the wreckages of Hyakuzor and the USS Challenger, as well as an indeterminate number of Frostfire PMC vehicles. "Remember what we talked about back then at the park? About how one man's utopia may be another's dystopia?" Lavender continued, hoping that she could at least try to get the ascetic to see reason. "And you said you wanted a world full of hope, but all you've done is create terror and despair! The creature said it's only purpose for existing is to destroy the world for you to rebuild as you see fit, but what if there is no need to destroy or rebuild anything? What if the world can be accepted as it is? Please, think about it." At least for now, Lavender would resort to nonlethal force in an attempt to negotiate with Nieves. "I'm going to have to power my way through," Selene remarked, the corporate heiress getting tired of simply picking off the incapacitated haemonculi with her golem and mercenary forces. "Geisinian War Hulk, let's go!" the summoner ordered, with the construct nodding its assent as it reached down to offer its arm for Selene to climb onto, helping the corporate heiress onto its shoulders before moving on. The golem was slow - at full speed it was managing more of a power walk instead of a run, but as a trade-off it possessed considerable firepower and durable armor. With its footsteps pounding on the floor like a hammer against a blacksmith's anvil, the Geisinian battle construct made its way towards where the turncoat, Lenny was reportedly spotted, by punching through his horde of minions that were assaulting the Frostfire base camp, currently under fire by a combined force of Eva droids and Frostfire PMC troops, now being supported from the air by a Frostfire PMC modified Black Hawk transport helicopter, with a door gunner laying down fire upon the critters with an Aero Dillon M134D minigun. "Just you wait," the corporate heiress mused as her golem stomped onward, arm Vulcans blazing to clear a path through any haemonculi that dared to get in its way, and any that got within the reach of the magitek behemoth's arms and legs risked meeting a grisly end as roadkill beneath its stomping feet, or contemptuously smashed aside by its mighty armor-plated arms as the construct commenced its hunt for the bio-artisan with the same single-minded purpose that the swarm had shown in its attempt to disable the Frostfire guns! |

Ah, crap. Considering the events, this was an appropriate conclusion to make in Ami's mind. She barely noticed the lavender girl picking her up and setting her down farther away from the mayhem, mind solely focused on the mental telepathy that transpired. People. Voices. Hopes, dreams, desires, clashing emotions that all wanted this THING to stop and reconcile, to find a route other than violence, to stop it. It had stopped. It had spoken. And that THING, that utterly reprehensible, incomprehensible, disgusting, gut-retching THING... "...It wants to kill us all..." ...This was what an End Of The World scenario was like. No, not a scenario, an actual real event that was happening. Fast breathing. Mind racing. Hands trembling, palms sweaty. THING. That thing staring straight at her, at others, at everyone, vowing to kill, to raze, to defile the land to it's Masters whims, panic and confusion, must do something, anything at all Masters. Control. servant, where could they be, where could the thing be commanded to stop, think Ami think, if it has Masters it could be stopped but these Masters are in places unknown where did they come from what is this THING this THING must die even if it is unknown One single, shaky, deep breath. A quick step forward. And another. Again and again, running straight at the beast, jumping as she let her gravity dissipate into the rain, the thunder, flying towards THAT DEPLORABLE THING, reaching into her pocket seeking a single ballpoint ink pen in the depths. Stab it. Stain it. It might not be much, but if it helped a bit, however little... Ahaha. It had to DIE, in the end. Stab it straight in the eye. One eye. Right in the center. It'll probably regenerate. Or disappear. But even so. The chaos around her. The rogue student noted in one corner of her head. The thunder. The lightning. The sheer despair and helplessness. Everything. Die. |

For a moment, Tyzal dared to hope. His words had been met with curiosity. Intrigue. A potential consideration of understanding. It seemed to recognise that this was a life filled with vibrant, different beings, and not just a world whose fate was determined by a few. Emphasis, on seemed. For whilst it might have recognised these facts, it did not mean it accepted their case or argument. It instead refuted Tyzal's words, perhaps not because it wished to, but because of the duty it was bound to. Its so called masters who desired so called perfection.. WHY? Tyzal gave a loud, mental scream as he stared down at the great lumbering beast before him. He pounded his fist against its hide, though he knew he would at best annoy it. That much he might need at least, to keep its attention upon him. How can a duty like that override your decency, if you even have such?! Why must you strive for your own self destruction?! Why is it that you must satisfy that, and thus, satisfy your master's wishes?! Tyzal had forgotten what he had known at first - to avoid trying to comprehend the creature too deeply. Do you know if your actions will even please them?! "...Oh, I could hear it just fine. I just wasn't paying much attention, till now." With a small grunt and a sigh, Abe pulled himself up onto his buttocks, and then from there, rose to his feet. "This world's ugly. Horribly, horribly ugly. Wars are fought, and subsequently ignored by those who claim it is their responsibility to stop them, because it is inconvenient. Those who espouse freedom restrict it, because they know that to hand it over would spell their end. People place coin and currency over each other. I could be here all day listing every fault. There is a need for the world to be reborn, make no mistake. I could never just accept the way things are." Jen could probably feel it from there, even as the music began to play. Abe was too assured of his beliefs, and too bitter after all he had seen and all he had done - himself an example of the faults in the world now - to ever really let it go. And yet... "Its people are a different matter." It was, after all, the very lynchpin of his beliefs. People had the intrinsic right to choose, and society would have been better for it overall if they could. Sure, he could justify things here or there in order to make headway towards the ultimate goal... but not on a scale like this. Creature! One of your three illustrious masters speaks! Abe called out to his inadvertent creation, gazing upon its massive form from a hillside that couldn't quite reach its height. You say that you wish to please me... but I tell you, you cannot do that on your current path, because... Beginning to tap his feet, Abe began to sway and swing, twirling his cap before he slipped himself into the chorus of the song. I don't want to set the world on fire~ |

With a sputtering hiss, she ground out one last fire. The reprieve hadn't lasted long. The monster was advancing once more, and as Natsumi spotted someone who looked like Eva - several someones who all looked like Eva, actually, which was a bit confusing - flying above, carrying people away from the wreckage of Hyakuzor, she realized that she ought to stop being directly in the monster's way. She backed up. The monster was advancing because of these... masters. She didn't understand. She probably wouldn't understand until this battle was over. Maybe she would never understand. Natsumi was okay with that. They just had to find these masters. She didn't know what she would say; she didn't know how they could be convinced or stopped. It was something she could do. She took off, weaving this way and that through the crowd, feet pounding against the rain-wettened concrete. |

She thought she felt her heart stop. It was an odd feeling admittedly, considering she hadn't felt her heart beat for so many centuries. She doesn't like the emotion being carried with it. The kind of emotion that makes her hair stand on end, dripping cold sweat and making her tremble as she turned to face one of the three kings. "...Nieves, y-you...!" Fear. It's been a while. Nieves sprang into action. Saigyouji would be meeting Death once more. ~ "Oh no... It's not working, it's still coming!" The Ordinary Magician yelped in panic as 'his' plan failed to convince the beast to stop, more out of its blind loyalty than anything else. "We have to get out of here, come on!" Of course he would be the first to bail from the spot, whipping out a besom broom from out of nowhere, quickly clambering over it before it starts to hover into the air. "Mr. Randy, what are you still doing?!" "Getting your friend out of here, that's what!" Sure enough, the police officer who was apparently named Randy, banged hard on the exterior of his own mecha, all the while yelling to the young woman who was still inside it. "Hey, Mina! Come on, get out of there, we have to go! It's not going to stop, we need to regroup!" There was a moment of silence. Long enough that Randy became impatient to bang his fist against the hull of the Gespenst again. "Hey, Mina! Are you listening, we have to move NOW!" It was only after a while did he receive a reply. Not a reply that he wanted to hear though. "...You can go. I'm staying," "Wha- dammit, stop being stubborn! This isn't the time to be a hero-" "It answered us, didn't it?!" Her angry retort came from the loudspeaker of the little blue mecha, inseparable from the psychic broadcast she was keeping up considering it was her own thought after all. "It talked to us! Of all the things that could have happened, we made contact with it! It has feelings, it has thoughts, it has sentience!" There was yet again another silence, officer Randy being too taken abackby the young woman's outburst to have amything to reply. No matter, Mina took the chance to continue. "A part of it has us inside it," She said, the fist that had formed from the Gespenst's hand unfurled. "If anything, this is our last chance... To have it understand where we're coming from. We can reason with it... Trust me," The blue mecha turned to face Officer Randy. A weak, bloodied grin was given to him, or at least, to the one screen showing the police officer, unseen from within the mecha. "I'm the Ace Inspector, and the damn best psychic in the world," ...Honestly, there is absolutely nothing true about her last two statememt. It wa enough to have the officer bang his forehead on the mecha out of exasperation. One thing he could vouch for however... "You sure are your mother's daughter..." The mecha stayed silent. "...Alright then," Convinced by the young woman Officer Randy gave the mecha a pat on its oversized arm, before turning away amd darted off to the waiting Ordinary Magician. "Right, we still have to do all we can to help! Fly around and see if there's anyone..." The voices of the Ordinary Magician and the Police Officer trailed off as they went away, leaving behind Seth, Youma and whoever else was around only to be picked up by the Eva units soon enough to be evacuated. All these time, there was only one thought going through Seth's mind... "Why are you all still fighting..." I mean, it was much too clear that not a single thing could even lay a dent or a scratch on the being. They're all just wasting their energy, and what's the point of trying to convince it when it's dead set on following it's very purpose of existence? The young man's fleeting thoughts trailed off to dullness as he was hoisted up into the air by one of the Eva units, watching blankly at the people who chose to stay behind to keep fighting, either by continuously trying to convince the being or repeatedly throwing assaults after assaults that he just knew would only make the being angry than amything else. It's not like he wanted to give up... No, he really wanted to stay behind and fight too with the rest of them... But... what could they do...? Nothing is working... He hates this... sense of hopelessness... being too weak to do anything... unable to protect not only those close to him but the rest of the world... They need more power... to protect this...! ... ...Protect...? All of a sudden life flared back into the young man's dead eyes, immediately he struggled and, with the herculean strength that never left him, wrenched himself free of the Eva unit holding him! ...Wait from this height-! Argh, screw it! WHAM!! It was a solid landing on his two feet without even any attempt to break the fall. It would've broken him if it wasn't for the healing bandages made by Heleth. Then he immediately ran towards where he shpuldn't be, the wreckage of Hyakuzor. "Don't stop moving! You guys go ahead, follow the other big robot, or the Riotroopers, Kamen Riders, any authority figures you can find! Go to safety!" The young man yelled out, at the same time unintentionally broadcasting the same words through his thoughts. Never mind that, this is something that he needs to do, something that he can do! Along the way the young man grabbed Amitie's hand and just dragged her along. "You there, I need your help!" ...Oh yeah, he doesn't know her name does he? Regardless she would be dragged all the way back to Hyakuzor, only being let go when they reached the wreckage. "Hyakuzor usually needs three pilot to be able to fight at full potential... Not that it can't by just one but I don't think I can handle even that at this point..." That's saying something considering the times he HAD piloted the Hyakuzor before it was usually either been only by himself or with Youma. "Hyakuzor feeds on willpower... and you don't seem to be lacking in it," It should be pretty easy to guess what he's suggesting. Not that he's going to be forcing it on her though, because he of all people would know how taxing it is to be piloting the mecha, especially when it's at this state... "You don't have to if you don't want to however," The young man said with a grunt as he clambered back onto the wreckage, looking aroud for the exit he just made earlier to escape. "It's just going to lighten the headache it's going to give me," Headache would be quite the understatement. Whether she decides to follow or not (and if she does the only cockpit left that could be occupied was the third one, specially designed solely as, so to say, the battery of Hyakuzor, with the second one being too damaged from the earlier attack and the first one...) Seth would have already found his entrance and jumped into the wreckage wihout a second thought, back into the first cockpit of Hyakuzor. "Nice to see you again big guy... Still alive I hope...?" Come to think of it, would this thing still be functional after taking that kind of terrible hit...? Yes it is. The cracked screen of the terminal blared to life, lighting up the ruined cockpit of the machine. At the moment of activation however the Image Feedback System, still functional despite the damage Hyakuzor had taken, immediately kicked in and transferred all the damages Hyakuzor had sustained to the pilot(s) in the form of excruciating, nerve-wracking pain. How much, well... Dangerous metallic groans tore through the area as the Steel God Hyakuzor rose from it's supposed grave. It's circular headpiece had been broken to bits, its face mangled, much of its exterior armors simply fell apart as Hyakuzor attempted to stand. One of its arm lay in pieces on the ground, leaving it with only one arm to help itself stand up. Even then, the amount of damage it had took gave it trouble to even hold its own weight, including the battleship still lying on its back, one of its legs momentarily gave up, sending Hyakuzor crashing back down. But it stood up. As hard and as agonizing as it had been, Hyakuzor looking completely unfitting for the front line, it still stood up, facing against the Thing that had taken it out in one strike. "...H-hey. You did good... beating me up there...!" Seth spoke, both through the broken speaker of Hyakuzor and through his mind at the advancing Thing. "I'm not going to beat around the bushes... Instead of being our destroyer, how about you become our protector instead...?" ... Huh? ~ Lady Saigyouji was sitting there at the edge of the roof, trembling and unspeaking in shock at the sight being presented in front of her, that had saved her from imminent death. A woman, with the power to control the wind itself, and a half human, half giant snake. Both of them standing between herself and Nieves. She was... saved? "Let me put it this way. Even if your masters were to remake the world however they see fit, it won't ever be the same world they wanted to correct, no matter how similar they are," The words were spoken with the voice of a person completely unrecognized by her. Or rather... his thoughts? ...No, it was definitely an actual voice, coming from the broken robot standing in front of the still advancing beast. Regardless, his thoughts and his voice are both the same, being broadcasted to anyone who would listen. Of course, it was especially aimed towards the beast... and her? Nieves? And Abilio too? It was hardly likely that the pilot of Hyakuzor even knew who exactly was he aiming for, but he knew who he wants addressed, and just banking on the hope that the three supposed masters of the Thing are actually around to listen to him. "Then... what's the point of wanting to correct the current world anyway, if you are just going to destroy this world entirely? If anything, by destroying this world you would essentially ruin their ideals of wanting to make THIS world a better place," It was hard to tell whom his words are actually directed to, even though he seemed to be talking straight to the beast. Saigyouji could tell however, those thoughts were all directed to, at least, herself, even if he doesn't seem to be aware of her actual presence. "Work with us instead," She could hear the pilot's voice continuing, both in her ears and her mind. "There are over seven billion humans living in this world, and even more including other living beings. You'll be surprised to find how many of them would have the same ideals as your masters. Instead of outright destroying us, be our guardian. Watch over us as we change this world for the better, no matter how long it takes," "...However, that's not my main point," The robot actually continued, much to Saigyouji's surprise. "I realize this relies very much on whether your masters trusts us or not. If they refuse to agree... then I'll make it plain and simple, right here, right now," Hyakuzor wheeled around on its two broken legs, actually turning its back towards the Thing, raising its one remaining hand to point accusingly in the general direction of the three masters before yelling out in a crackling boom as the broken speakers would allow-! "YOU WILL BE NOTHING MORE THAN A BUNCH OF SELFISH PEOPLE WITH POWER WHO ONLY CARES ABOUT YOUR OWN IDEALS!!! MARK MY WORD, EVEN IF YOU BECOME KINGS AND QUEENS OF THE NEXT WORLD, YOU WILL BE NOTHING MORE THAN TYRANTS TO US, AND YOU WILL BE ETERNALLY CURSED BY THE WORLD YOU HAVE ABANDONED YOUR HOPES FOR!!!" The speaker crackled for one last time before falling dead silent, broken from the stress. But the pilot, Seth Ryouga, had one last words to give. "If you don't mind all that, then be my guest," He said silently under his breath, unheard by anyone but within his own cockpit. "I'll fight to the death to protect everyone," ~ They're all willing to go that far... to protect themselves? Well... she suppose it's only natural... Everyone wishes to live and all. She doesn't think there is anyone who would be happy about dying. ...Unless... ~ "S-Saigyouji-sama... Are you... sure you won't... reconsider...?" "Haah... I told you many times already, haven't I? I'm doing this for my people too, and I'm not changing my mind," "B-but Saigyouji-sama...! What are we going to do without you...?!" The lady in the pink kimono paused in her tracks. Pink sakura petals rustled under her feet as she turned to face her many subjects following her, most if not all were in tears. It was dejecting to her seeing her subjects like this. But instead, she gave a gentle, heartwarming smile. "Then I hope my spirit will be passed along my people, so they can continue to protect this land and making it flourish," It didn't quite help as her subject continue to be even more taken by their emotion. Not only have they lost so many people, but now their one remaining ruler have decided to sacrifice herself to end all of their suffering. Their cries only grew louder as Lady Saigyouji turned away, making her way towards a giant, blossoming sakura tree. "...I will certainly miss your calming, beautiful sight," Lady Saigyouji muttered under her breath as she took out a dagger, placing the blade on her throat. "If only your peace haven't also brought suffering..." ~ "...Perhaps I've lingered on this world for too long..." Lady Saigyouji muttered under her breath as she stood precariously at the very edge of the rooftop. The rain was heavy, and the wind was strong. "I was even brought back to life..." She turned to face Nieves over her shoulder. It was the most gentle and modest of smiles she had given in... many, many years. "...I may be too attached to this world to see it be destroyed," |

Lenny sat on the back of his Phylactery, keeping his breathing to a minimum, silent as possible. He waited for the other shoe to drop, he had a plan of course but confrontation wouldn’t end well for him. At this moment his thoughts were honestly more aligned for survival, he had no eyes in the outside world and , had no idea where the king’s were, or what was going on. For now he just wanted to stay free and possibly disable Hiro. He felt his mind returning to full capacity, the anti-power blast had been healed, the Hive Mind was ready to return when he called on it. In the crowd of fallen haemonculi he opened a single pair of eyes and looked around; he saw a grizzled man with a knife slaying as he went, he saw multiple E.V.A’s above firing down on his hordes, and he opened another beast’s eyes and saw a contingent moving out, eight androids, a gunship, and a golem. He opened his eyes and reflected fearfully, could they be heading towards him? If so he might as well cause some lasting damage. He closed his eyes, letting the Hive Mind well up for two minutes, waiting until the heiresses and the android’s combined forces were too far to return. The he let them free. Fredric would feel two squeezing sensations around his leg as he lifted his knife towards the next haemonculi. The wrapping tentacles of two recently awakened Garrote haemonculi were around his legs and in the next instant were accompanied by stabbing pains, both of the creatures had deployed their dozens of rows of inward facing claws towards the meat of Fredric’s leg. The haemonculi in front of him, a simian creature with two scythe arms, spun around quickly aiming a bone blade towards fredric’s shoulder. In that moment the fallen haemonculi around Fredric would rise up and strike at him, about a dozen bodies swarming him with the intent to rip him apart. A tiger haemonculi beneath him twisted its body to strike with heavy claws, a oily skinned haemonculi with only one torn wing would grip onto his arm for dear life. As if retunring from the dead the remaining, wounded haemonculi would strike out at the nearest thing. The proximity to the man would make ranged support dangerous, any penetrating or missing shots would most likely hit the man. Such was the danger of fighting in the fields of the dead made living. As the swarm rose around Fredric another group rose as well, the remaining Dart haemonculi with wings. They numbered only fourteen in total, down from their earlier forty, they took off, hoping their small frames, each one was the size of a large owl, and speed would make traditional AA ineffective against them. They flew off ignoring the forces firing on their kin and split. Four of them headed off towards Lady Saigyouji, their sharp eyes had spotted her on the roofs with three others. He recognized one of them, the others were strangers. Hopefully if he got a haemonculi towards her she would recall his presence and possibly do some assistance. The other group of ten made a beeline towards Hiro as he meditated in the sky. Hopefully no one would actually try to intercept; though E.V.A was claiming otherwise Lenny’s haemonculi had yet to actual attack anyone except Fredric, who was being attacked in self defense, at this point Lenny was a traitor by conjecture, not by evidence. The haemonculi wouldn’t actually get too close to Hiro, they would make a wide circle around him, keeping their distance from his guardian. A final group near the edge of the fallen haemonculi broke off and retreated, twenty in total. They ran away from the frostfire encampment, not really attempting to retaliate. A few more wounded haemonculi from the center hobbled away as well, a few of them cut down in gunfire. Those haemonculi not in the near vicinity of Fredric were pulling away from their attackers, each of them rising up a few at a time. The aim was clear, a retreat to try to preserve the haemonculi who remained, a mere quarter of the previously living. |

Well, a lot of interesting things had certainly happened. He'd been rescued by some other human, the giant robot had been destroyed, some strange performers started playing some strange music, the monster had stopped in its tracks for a moment, he'd heard a bunch of people apparently thinking in his own head, apparently there was some guy betraying them, and the monster then said something about masters and remaking the world. Matt's mouth would curl into a sneer at that point. Oh, so that was what this was all about, was it? Some people got it into their heads that they could just make perfection? The mental derision he was giving towards that idea was less audible than it was a vague feeling, and the human-form homunculus would shake his head. What a right bunch of gits, he thought to himself, snorting audibly both mentally and physically. What a human way of thinking. That they can make things perfect. It's like they don't even think that perfection's just a word, and nothin' else. Oh, sure, things can be made better. 'Ell, with enough dedication, work, and blood 'n sweat 'n tears, you can make things better in most occasions, no problem. I'm proof enough o' that. He would look at the creature again after that, shaking his head. But anyone who thinks things can be perfect? They're either stupid, crazy, or naive. There's no perfection to ever be had in this world. Maybe if ye happened to be the only thing to exist, then you could make what you think is perfection. But that seems to be a rather poorly existence to me. After all, what'd you do then? Sit there, and lord over nothing? Drink and eat till ye feel fit to burst? Talk to yeself about nothing? Aye, maybe. But then what? At the end, all ye'd have was an empty world, one that you forced to come about. But if ye want other people to exist... Well, then it seems ta me that ye'd have to come to terms with the simple fact that humans, and whatever else happens to be in the world won't necessarily like or even want what ye consider perfect. I mean, I've seen a lot recently, some o' it stuff I didn't even think was possible. 'Ell, I'd go so far as to say that the humans have made it even better than it was before. I mean, sure, they screwed up bad along the way, like with those world war things I keep hearing about. But by an' large, they've made things better. I mean, at the very least, they don't consistently treat black folk like they're just trade goods of some sort anymore. Oh, and there's entire diseases missin' now. And you gits are finally starting to understand DNA and mechanics well enough to get the idea of makin' Homunculi a potential reality on a large scale, which is a nice babystep! Of course, Matt didn't seem to understand that everyone else in the link could hear his thoughts, so he would continue with his actions after that like nothing happened. Anywho. Guess I'd better ask someone where Beastie's masters are," he'd say out loud and mentally, a wide grin on his face. "OI, ANYONE KNOW WHERE BIG 'UN'S BOSSES ARE?! ME FISTS WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH THEIR FACES!" .... Welp, it seemed his prior thoughts were about as tactful and subtle as he was going to get. Still, if anyone who had been listening to him through the link would get his view on things, at least. Whether or not that did anything in regards to their thoughts on the matter wasn't really on Matt's mind. All he really cared about now was having a "conversation" with whoever was in charge of World Ender there, as that seemed to be the only weak point that Matt could make sense of at this point in time. |

Based on the creature’s comments, the worst case scenario (that hearing all the voices at once would overwhelm it and drive it into a rage) was avoided. It doesn’t even seem to have a concept of emotions at all. It seems to “want” to fulfill his genocidal goal, but not due to any malice, just the idea that it has to be done. Before he can consider a plan with the info that happened, there’s a loud sound. A loud, fairly distinctive sound. In the distance, he can see the source, a man holding what is likely to be a gun, aimed at a girl. At this distance, if he tried running, he may not be able to reach her in time. Time to put that new trick into practice. Kazuya makes a small hop in the air, a few inches at most. By the time he lands back on the ground, it isn’t his feet that landed on the ground. In the short time it took for him to land back on the ground, Kazuya had already created a steel board beneath him, with both of his legs securely attached by shoe-shaped figures on it, part of the board itself. “Okay, and now for the tricky part…” After making sure that his legs are secured, Kazuya attempts to use his ability to manipulate his creations to lift and move himself towards the armed man, in an attempt to take him by surprise, and crash into him with the board. It would’ve been better to test this tactic out in more controlled, not to mention convenient, circumstances, but hindsight is a funny thing like that. |

"Your attention is not to be diverted from us!" John yelled indignantly as he tried to hold Kell back. He wanted the man arrested, not dead. "We are here to defeat you, Lenny Barrons! Miscreant, traitor and rascal of the highest order! We saw your aberrants assault Ms. Frostfire's forces. Do you think we are so easily deceived?" The wrestler was not so eloquent. Her profanities grew steadily in violence and creativity to the point where nobody present would dare repeat it. Outrage was evident in her eyes. She had never met somebody both stupid and evil enough to backstab the people trying to save the world when the fight was still going on. How was she supposed to deal with it except by venting madly and struggling to go and rip the guy's head off? The jelly swordsman could not hold her back forever. Her superior strength won out as she tore free of his grasp, roaring as she ran full-tilt at the master of homunculi. Kell even jumped into the air, planning to dropkick Lenny off of the back of his ride and into a nearby wall. ---- Meanwhile, it seemed like a certain idiot and her miko friend were busy. Lucid was looking at the homunculi who were flying towards Hiro. The mindlink was confusing to her, but apparently he was talking to the big world eater thing just fine. So, having flying things come after him was not a good idea. Misogi let Lucid climb on her back as she flew up to try and intercept the winged beasts. The assassin started opening up on the homunculi, firing full auto as the miko soared like a shooting star. If they couldn't stop the things from disrupting his concentration, there could be some pretty severe consequences there. Hello to the people who can hear my thoughts! There's weird thingies trying to get Hiro! I'm shooting at them, but I need help to knock them out of the sky before they smack into him! Also, please don't blow up the world, big monster. There. Message sent. ---- It was the first turning point in the battle. Before Nieves could strike, Lavender's air bonds and Naja managed to intercept her. A splendid effort, but that wasn't going to stop her for long. That is, until the aeromancer and her erstwhile target spoke to her. Ah, this was interesting. If it was a dialogue they wished to pursue, she would gladly agree to that. She flexed, tearing out of the air bonds and repelling the lamia before she pressed her palms together again. With a small smile, she listened to what they had to say. Their words rang with truth. There was a danger present in the process. Even in a perfect re-creation, would she truly be blessing the ones who she fought for? However, she had an answer to that. The problem of continuity of consciousness was one she had taken into account, given the week she had to reformulate her plan. The trouble was if she could actually carry it out. "This world needs to be changed. If I let it be, how many people will be driven past the edge of despair and never come back?" She asked Lavender. "There are many who are saved by their loved ones, by circumstance and hope. To speak of the opposite, there are just as many who fall and remain trapped to the very last breath. You can save the world, but not them. Who will protect the ones who slip between the cracks if I do not act?" To gain the power and authority needed, she would have to kill Lady Saigyouji and Abilio Ferro. But that would most likely deny them the chance at a new life. Furthermore, it was mere conjecture that doing so would afford her the influence needed to carry such a plan out. Yet the noblewoman's words gave her a new line of thought to consider. "Attachments... Oh, of course!" Nieves had figured out the solution to the pre-emptive murders. Yes, this would do nicely. All she needed to do afterwards was to toss their corpses to the Beast. Recreating their bodies and allowing their spirits to reinhabit them could work. They were too focused to simply pass on without regrets. She had to admit, this situation with the Beast was giving her new perspectives on things. The powers granted to them really were opening up new avenues of action for them. All she had to do was exploit them until she could deliver her gift and finally settle down. Nieves had to admit, she did not find their position wrong. It was well within their beliefs to reject the destruction of the world. And that was all the reason she needed to declare their actions just. It really was unavoidable that they would clash on such an issue, but she could not let this divert her. If they could not prove her methods would end in disaster, she would not turn back from her path. "Rebirth, Lady Saigyouji. Not a simple cleansing." The Ascetic gently chided her peer. "When the Beast has destroyed everything, I will bring it all back exactly as it is now. My actions will lose all meaning if I simply try to force the hope I carry unto others. They must be given a Choice. But, as you know, you and Abilio Ferro must perish for that to happen." She quietly undid her tie and tossed it away. It was close to the time of battle once more, she believed. "Present proof of an inevitable failure, or your life is forfeit. In that instance, I would prefer it if you gave me the chance to make your death painless." She did not move, but her baleful gaze did bore into her peer's eyes. "When this is all over, find your body once more. I will preserve it as best I can so that you may return to it and live in the World of Hope." |

Beware The Penguin Emperor
|
Looking around, many others seemed to be at as much of a loss as he was, understandably so, as it seemed that the thing that faced the had no intention to destroy the world just for the sake of it, but rather, at the command of some people. If that was the case, considering the amount of attacks that they had already launched at it, it could have been wiser to simply face the person providing instructions to the being. His eyes diverted themselves attempting to find something else to do, someone else to help, much like the people he had aided once before. from his position high up in the sky, it was easy to understand issues that could arise. Even if his powers did not give him much control when moving in a 3 dimensional space, he could still move at speeds somewhere along the line of the thousand miles per hour. Trying to save people as the girl once before did would be hard, as it was likelier that he'd just splatter them accidentally, looking for anything else that could damage their operation seemed like a better idea. A squadron of, something, some slimy creatures that bore a passing resemblance to frogs, but as if they had been spliced up erratically with every kind of thing, without rhyme nor reason, had gathered around Hiro, who stood in the middle of the whole conflict. Figuring that it wouldn't be smart to disturb the main person that the thing had selected as a mediator between humanity and it, Kaizo kicked the pixel platform in the general direction of the creatures and Hiro, after reaching somewhere near, he created pixels near his hands, and pushed himself with enough force to stop himself, creating a pixel platform below himself right afterwards. Being glad of the boost in energy that the girl from before had given everyone surrounding her, as it would allow him to use any amount of pixels he wanted with little to no consequence, he instantly materialized a doughnut shaped "jail" of sorts with unmoveable pixels. If they hadn't been moved before he arrived, the jail would incarcerate every one of the beasts, they would not be hurt, however they would all need a sizeable amount of power to escape. After doing that, he returned back to the spot from where he came, the whole situation passing in the span of little less than 10 seconds. As he did, he noticed that there were some other things like that around, figuring that he did not know if they were allies or enemies, but that he did not want the link between humans and their enemy distracted, he ignored them. --- Having left Jun due to trouble swimming, Carol clumsily made her way to the port. |

Noticing the familiars become active again Ricard prepared himself for the fight, the situation was still pretty shoddy but after the telepathic communication it seemed like if they could convince the Kings to stop it, then it would stop. Easier said then done though. "Damn idiot is what he is." Ricard muttered quietly as his blade made its way through several familiars, he couldn't fathom what had caused him to think that betraying all the students was a good idea. Even if he was promised power beyond measure surely he recognized that he wouldn't get to see it considering all the students and other organizations that would attack him for his treason. Regardless the whole situation seemed just wrong in nature. Humans against other humans had been a conflict that had lasted and would last until they eventually died out, so why did this clash of ideals disturb Ricard more then any other fight. Maybe the idea of a perfect world being born out of destruction, maybe just his own life being forfeit. All he knew was that it felt bad. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Listening to the whole telepathic situation Dawn was surprised, this creature actually recognized them as living creatures. That was a surprise from a world ending monstrosity. However that didn't deter it, only it's masters could deter it, seeing as she had no clue as to who it's masters where she was helpless to assist in that situation. What she could help with though was the sudden appearance of creatures surrounding Hiro, summoning multiple crystalline shards she sent them flying towards the creatures with the intent to put them down. Even if they avoided hopefully someone else could manage to get them with a second attack if she missed with her attack. 30/50 shards remaining |

NICE DRIVE!

So you're saying... if you were ordered to stop this destruction by your masters and avoid all this chaos, if that is what would please them, that's what you would do? While the mass-mind link was still in place Hiro made sure to project this thought loudly. It was rather clear from the beast's subtle words but he wanted to make it stark white to everyone else connected in; just in case somebody missed the point. They had a plan of action now. Of course, for the time being he had to endure the ongoing strain and maintain his connection. Technically they had all they needed to hear, but if the beast desired to say more then he would keep to his word and listen. Plus, he didn't want to anger the thing with disrespect; if that was even a notion it held. Of course, lost in this storm of thoughts, Hiro could pay no attention to the forces gathering around him nor the lone hero stepping in to defend him. ==== "Did you hear that?" Isaac asked calmly as his gaze remained down the scope mounted on the massive rifle designed to chamber the Madan. "Yeah," Claudia added with a somber tone, "It's lucky Arcadia moved out and there were people on hand to relay it. There's still no word from Hiro so he must be... in any case, you need to ID the ones that are that thing's Masters. I think there was some intel on them based on previous encounters." "And then what?" Isaac replied stoically, "Erase the ones that don't agree? Do I even have that right?" "Just ID them for now, let's see what those kids can do," Claudia reassured him as she let out a soft sigh, "Hiro Tsukasa, this is a terrible burden you shoulder us with every time the world is in danger." ==== Shad Hornswell! Makoto's voice barked over the Arcadian Link contacting the Size Mage. If he bothered to glance around he would notice that nearby, amid the frenzy, the Head of Fire Division took note of the current scene unfolding. Her eyes narrowed as she continued the message. Arcadia is here to stop the monster and that's all. The last thing we need is any military or military-like organization trying to hunt us down or creating a legal nightmare for those that support us in Japan's government. Abandon your current action and focus on the task at hand. It seems the monster's impetus for attack is tied to the ones it refers to as Masters. We need to get them to agree to stop it. Or failing that, if one will agree, then the others need to be eliminated. If you want to pursue personal matters then do it without our uniform or wielding our gear... |
