There were some things that would never change throughout history, as far as Matt was concerned. Three particular examples stood out in his mind at that moment. One: Bars would never run out of business. Two: There would always, always be people who didn't fully have their wits about them upon leaving a bar. Three: Homunculi could get some easy pickings if they hung around outside a bar, and then lured someone away to a nice, quiet location.

Now, normally Matt wouldn't care about that. Hell, he'd even participated in that formula a time or two to get Lady Sevensins and the rest of the Troupe their experimental supplies, or when luring a Homunculus into a trap so he could kill it. However, this time, he was a bit less than thrilled with the process. Why, you ask? Well, because he was the one on the receiving end of it, of course.

What hat happened was simple. He had been enjoying a night out on the town, drinking to his heart's content, and trying his best to ignore those strange magic boxes that had tiny little men playing sorts of games inside of them. Then, when he had walked outside after ingesting enough booze to knock out the average person, he had heard someone asking for help from an alleyway. Now, it would certainly be impolite to ignore something like that, especially from such a feminine sounding voice! So, needless to say, Matt had strolled right in, and then next thing he knew, he was waist deep in webbing and being dragged off by some spider Homunculus she-witch.

Really, it was enough to make anyone annoyed. The Spider-woman was still dragging him along the ground, now in some warehouse district, and she was actively salivating. Still, it wasn't like the human-form Homunculus was actually concerned or anything. He had already tested out the webbing some, and knew that when push came to shove, he could break it. The only reason he hadn't already was because he had some questions for the creature. After all, Homunculi didn't just appear out of thin air, which meant that someone else in town was potentially threatening his safety. And the more he could figure out about that, the better. Particularly if he could find out exactly where that problem was, and kill it before any Alchemists, or worse, other Homunculi came to investigate.

So after waiting a while longer of waiting, Matt would clear his throat politely to get the woman's attention. "'Scuse me, lassie. Perhaps ye could sate me curiosity at this point in time, hmmm?" he would say, a thick Scottish accent covering his language. "Could ya perhaps tell me where yer takin' me to be eaten?"

The Spiderwoman would stop at that point, hissing slightly. She would walk towards the wrapped-up "drunk" then, the part of her face that was still mostly human aggravated. She would admit a low clicking sound, leaning down towards him. "Ah, you seem to be a smart one, boy. But a lady never tells, no?"

Matt rolled his eye at that. He could think of a lot of things to call the monster in front of them, and lady wasn't one of them. "Aye, because a lady has eight legs and spinnerets, right Lassie?" The other Homunculus would growl slightly at that, lifting up her hand to strike her seemingly helpless captive, a motion that would certainly look threatening to anyone that happened to be passing by.

"You know that guy has a point bug breath. When I think of a lady i think curves....and BOOBS! Not webs coming from God knows where."

From out of the shadows Kazuki emerged. He had a big grin on his face and was in his casual clothes. He yawned since he was kinda sleepy from hunting the Homunculus

"Guess Bravo was right when he contacted me about a Homunculus in the area. Oh! and next time dont make it so easy for me to follow you. Anyways lets hurry and wrap this up. I havent eaten lunch so i want to go get a burger or something before heading back to the dorms. Oh man a milkshake sounds good right now!.... I mean BUSO RENKIN!!!!!!"

A bright orange light filled the night sky for a moment and as soon as it cleared Sunlight Heart was in Kazukis left hand.

"Now then. Let go of the drunk hobo and surrender! Or do we actually have to do this the hard way?" said Kazuki reading his weapon for any sudden attacks.

Matt's face froze into a smile when the kid spoke the two words he did not want to hear at that point in time. The words "impending sh*tstorm" didn't even begin to cover this. To the human-form Homunculus, this was a literal nightmare. He had specifically come to Hyakuji because he didn't want to deal with anything resembling Alchemy while he was adjusting to these strange times. And now, here was an Alchemist Warrior, one apparently here on orders. Perfect! Just friggen perfect!

While Matt had his moment of panic, the animal-form Homunculus would turn towards Kazuki, her mandibles clacking some. "Bah. Another morsel comes into my web. Good. That means I can eat one of you before I turn the other in to-"

The spider-woman wouldn't get further than that. There was a sudden sound of webs tearing, and a blur of movement from the formerly contained one-eyed boy. He had literally burst out of the webbing like it wasn't even there, lashing out with a kick to the underside of the other Homunculus. The hit connected with the alchemic symbol hidden on her abdomen.

The effect would be instant. The Homunculus would cry out in pain, her legs near instantly crumpling under her. That would be an immediate sign to Kazuki that something wasn't right about the man. Even in a place like Hyakuji, the people who could harm a Homunculus would be few and far between. Without a Kakugane or some other alchemic weaponry, striking a Homunculus like that would do nothing. The fact that it hurt indicated that the other boy could harm it without any weaponry.

The second sign that something was off about the man came with the collapse of the spider. One of the legs would get caught in Matt's somewhat grubby shirt, ripping it straight down the middle. This revealed Matt's scarred physique, and what would be a familiar symbol to Kazuki. It was the symbol found on every Homunculus, right on the center of the other boy's chest.

However, Matt wouldn't stay still for long after that. He would quickly grab the woman with both hands, hefting her up and carrying her. He would turn to Kazuki, giving the other teen a slight wink. "Well Laddie, I'd love to stay and chat, but me and me date here have a little chat that we need to have, and I'd like me privacy for that. Buh-bye!" He'd start running after that, taking the other Homunculus with him. There was no way that he was sticking around and letting some upstart human nose into his business, especially not one that could pose a threat to him. He wanted his peace, and he'd damn well have it. Even if he had to rip this woman limb from limb to figure out who the other game in town was, or if he had to tear the heart out of that other boy's chest to ensure that the Alchemic world didn't find out he was here. Nothing was going to interfere with Matt's acclimatization. Nothing.

"Whoa! Thats one strong drunk hobo!" said Kazuki kinda impressed that the guy tore through the webs. But thats not the real thing that caught his attention. It was a small glimpse but he couldve sworn he saw the alchemic symbol on the hobos chest. That and he knew their weak point. BUt he didnt look anything remotely close to a Homunculus. While all these things were running through his head the guy was getting away with the Homunculus he was suppose to dispose of.

"H-HEY! Get back here!" said Kazuki running after him.

"Stop! I SAID STOP! Dont you hobos know what stop means!?!?"

Not only would he be in trouble for letting a drunk escape with a Homunculi, he would also get a huuuge screaming from Bravo for letting an unknown Homunculus get away too. In fact he would probably train him ot death to not let it happen again...LITERALLY!

Matt swore quietly as he heard the Alchemist begin to give chase. Perhaps he had not fully considered his retreat. With the homunculus in tow, he was slowed down by a good margin. Otherwise, he probably would have left Kazuki in the dust.

He reduced speed, combined with the fact that the spider-girl would recover eventually, forced Matt to change tactics. He would continue running for a bit long, eventually getting to a relatively open area, one stacked with a wide variety of storage containers on the outskirts. Kazuki would be able to note that it was a dead end, definitely something that would be an odd choice for someone trying to escape.

Matt would skid to a stop there, quickly spinning around to face the alchemist warrior. He would roughly throw the spider-woman to the side, her head impacting off of a storage container. Kazuki would be able to quite clearly see Matt's symbol now, especially since the only movements that Matt made were to settle into a fighting stance.

The Human-form Homunculus had a wide grin on his face as he looked at Kazuki, one meant to hopefully intimidate the other boy some. "Alright, Laddie. Since ye seem so keen on following me, it seems I'll have to discourage ye some. So here's yer final warnin': Turn back now, an' forget ye ever saw me. Or else I'll steal that fancy little toy of yers, and then show ye why an Alchemist Warrior should think twice before engagin' Matthew Hazeman."

Finally the guy would stop...but at a dead end. This screamed trap but, Kazuki had to do his job. The guy gave him a warning that he should just turn around and forget he ever saw him....yeah right.

"Like Hell im just gonna walk away! You have some answers to give me!...Oh and im gonna need that Homunculus you have there. Also this toy is gonna be the thing thats gonna pry the answers i need from you!" said Kazuki getting into a fighting position as well. He aimed his lance at Matt and prepared to charge at him just in case.

"Now tell me! What relation to the Homunculus do you have?! And why do you have the Alchemic symbol on your chest...it was the Alchemic symbol right? Cause i wasnt too sure. I could be wrong. Its happened before and it is dark. Plus i dont have the best vision in the world. Ive been meaning to go to the doctor but they want to run all these different tests on me and....you know its just a big hassle...."

Matt's face fell flat when Kazuki finished talking. There was no way someone could be that stupid, right? Mat would blink slowly a few times, obviously confused. "Laddie, did you learn nothin' about how to get information from Homunculi in yer training to be an Alchemist Warrior? I mean, I may be quite a while out o' practice on that front, but generally you should beat the crap out of the other guy first, then ask the questions. More likely to get some answers that way."

He would not yet make a move to attack. That just wasn't his style. He much preferred to dictate the terms of engagement in a battle, and that was much harder to accomplish if he was on the attack. So he'd wait for the other boy to make the first move. After all, it wasn't like he couldn't react to something from some stupid human, right?

"Training?....Er...Define Training...Too be honest ive never really had any formal training" said Kazuki laughing "To be fair you look human and there are people with super abilities other than you and me. Hell you could just be really strong for all I know. I know for a fact theres a kid named Seth, and trust me he is unbelievably strong. No joke i think he can lift a ton!"

....Is he ever gonna stop talking?

"Anyways are you gonna answer my question or not? I still wanna get something to eat before I head back to my dorm for the night. Maybe a burger or something." Was he serious?! "In fact why dont we go and get a burger? My treat! Er...but first im gonna have to kill that spider lady. No offense and all but i cant let her go..."

Yup he was serious

Matt would just stand there staring at Kazuki with a slack jaw for the duration of the time the Alchemist Warrior talked. His mouth would move at times, as if he were going to say something, but couldn't find a way to verbalize his thoughts. There was no way that they'd send an Alchemist Warrior this green to hunt down Homunculi, right? They were supposed to be competent warriors, able to fight things that were beyond the scales of humanity!

Thankfully, something else was able to break the Humanoid Homunculus out of his stupor. The Spider Homunculus was back up, and had quite suddenly sprayed a stream of silk at Kazuki. She would then begin to clamber up the side of one of the buildings while the two were hopefully distracted for a moment, hissing all the while.
