For Lucella, shopping for clothes ended up being more of an embarrassment than a joy. Both physically and by manakete standards, Lucella was a child; however, she was 400 years old, and was intellectually enough to where she was functionally an adult on most levels. So she absolutely loathed being treated like a kid by people who she might well be twenty times older than.

The fact that her normal clothes were supposed to 'look' adult made things harder. She could very well find a decent t-shirt in her size... if she wasn't so picky. The truth was that Lucella's priorities were finding something that at least looked like something that plausibly could have been a 'scaled down' version of an adult piece of clothing, made for children. The problem was that for every piece like that, there were three 'Daddy's Little Princess' t-shirts. Add in that she wanted to at least vaguely mimic adult fashions and she had problems there.

Don't even get Lucella started on how many times the staff at clothing stores bothered her about where her parents were. Honestly, if it wouldn't end up giving the concerned clerks a heart attack, she'd answer by turning into a dragon. As it turns out, when 'not terrifying people' is an issue, turning into a dragon isn't terribly.useful.

So Lucella, looking a bit grumpy, entered the mall alone to head to one of the children's clothing store. She wasn't there yet, obviously, but she was certainly making her way.

Unluckily for Lucella, Amitie had the tendency to be attracted to troubled children. It was as if she had a sixth sense specifically constructed for being lead towards children that needed helped! Or that even remotely looked like they needed help. In fact, by the time she arrived here, she had been drawn to a young child that had lost his parents. It turned out that he wandered off on his own and his mother was still in the clothing store!

The poor thing couldn't find his way back. He had apparently taken interest in an ice cream vendor on his way here! He couldn't find it, so Amitie first brought him there, before reuniting him with his mother in the store. While the older lady thanked her, she instantly went off on her child for running off like that. Luckily, Amitie managed to prevent the situation from escalating too much by, well... pretty much just standing there and clearing her throat. At the very least, she saved the child from public humiliation!

With mother and child reunited, Amitie had no real reason to stay around. She didn't really have any reason to be in a clothing store today, as she both already had enough clothing for now and her new paycheck wasn't in yet so while there were many cute, appealing outfits just staring at her here, she had no money to buy them anyway. Well, it wasn't like she didn't have the money, but Amitie had firmly conditioned herself to not waste money whenever not needed. Granted, she just wasted money on buying a kid ice cream, but...

And there was it again. Amitie's oneechan senses were tingling.

Zooming her eyes across the store, she noticed a young girl with a rather distressed look on her face, walking to the children's section of the store. She looked mostly normal, aside from her pointy ears that stuck out under her hair. Amitie's first thought was that she might be an... elf, or something similar. Eh, with the weird things she had seen and with the unique little roommate she had, that wouldn't be all too surprising. However, that all didn't matter, she could be a 40000 year old Elder God of Chaos and Amitie would still want to take her distress away simply because she looked like a child!

"Hey." Amitie called out to the young girl, approaching her and bending through her back just a tad so she could be on eye-level with the little girl. "Looking for something?" She was without a parent, but she didn't seem too lost. Maybe she was sent off on an errand, or she was simply mature enough to do some clothing shopping on her own? Whatever it was, she was looking rather distressed while doing it!

Amitie knew well enough that it probably wasn't a good idea to press on her negative aura right now, as children tended to only react badly to comments of them maybe not being in full control of what they were doing.

Lucella wasn't unaccustomed to being confronted by well meaning strangers who thought she was lost. It tended to be more humiliating when they insisted on trying to find her parents, particularly when it was a security guard. She usually had to spout off a large amount of theological or other information one wouldn't expect a kid to have.

Although she hated resorting to it, on more than one occasion, she'd had to turn into a dragon. She didn't roar, or try to scare them; it was just a method for her to prove she was a bit different than humans were. Obviously though, she felt guilty when she had to do it that way, but if she didn't, she anticipated staying until evening at minimum, then being sent to state custody until she could convince someone along the chain... or until she turned into a dragon.

She didn't hold it against Amitie, however, consider the girl's tone. She was far from the first person to seem to believe that she was a fairly normal child, after considering the ears.

"Yes, in fact, I am." she told her, smiling gently. Despite Lucella being a kid, albiet a 400 year old kid, her tone contained a suppressed tone of annoyance, but calm "If you could help me, I'm looking for a store selling children's clothing, that vaguely looks like something an adult would wear." She could tell that she was being treated like a child (which she was, despite being 400) but she was outright used to being treated like that. It seemed nobody 'took her seriously' as she would call it.

Lucella knew a few brands herself, but she wasn't entirely sure which stores were in the mall. Considering that her question was somewhat odd, she hardly expected her to know the answer, considering the likely case was that she'd never had to look for clothes like that.

Well, the young girl was pretty obviously trying to sound and seem mature! There was nothing wrong with that, but from her experience, children like that tended to be the least mature of them all. They wanted to be independent and strong, even though they needed assistance at pretty much every turn. Some children even took it further, rebelling against any help that they were given just because they felt like they needed to stand on their own two feet!

Luckily, this little girl didn't seem as foolish as Amitie's actual little sister!

"Hmm? Sure, I can help you with that!" Amitie lowered herself to her knees, reaching her left hand out towards Lucella. Her movements were careful, very careful. Since the green-haired girl was doing her best to act mature, Amitie wouldn't step on it by treating her like a kid! "Would you want some properly branded clothing, or do you not care as long as it fits?" If Lucella accepted Amitie's hand, she would raise herself back to her feet while gently holding it. If Lucella didn't, she would stand back up and simply lead her the way.

Lucella was in luck. Amitie knew exactly what she wanted! Kyrie had some... picky tastes as well, and while she had grown out of it (literally, considering she was fifteen now!), Amitie still had some pretty vivid memories of taking her younger sister out to those stores when they were younger.

Even though the difference in age between the two was only about a year, Amitie had been helping her little sister with these things as long as she remembered. The incompetence of her parents meant that Amitie pretty much had to take on that role from the very instant that she conceivably could!

"Is this your first time at the mall? It's fine to get lost, it's so overwhelmingly big... The signs are all confusing, too!" Again, Amitie did her very best to not treat Lucella as a child, wanting to reaffirm to her that there was nothing childish in asking for help! Actually, the actual step of asking for help is a lot more mature than trying to figure these things out yourself!

"Oh, and what's your name, miss? Mine is Amitie Florian. It's nice to meet you." she added a quick introduction after. Seeing as clothes-shopping can potentially take a while, Amitie didn't want to have to call the poor thing by pronouns the entire time!

Lucella grasped her hand, smiled gently, and still walked with her "Oh, brand isn't so important as price, and my preferences. If I was too picky, I might have to skip over a few otherwise good choices." she told her. Few would see the tags, but everyone would see the clothes. Besides, brands with lesser name recognition tended to charge less. It's not like Lucella was starved for cash, but at the same time, she was a cleric; she wasn't exactly in a high paying profession.

Overall, while the other girl tried to come across as treating her like an adult, it didn't so much come across that way to Lucella. The 'confusing signs' and the 'sheer size' comments seemed to come across as an unintended insult, and she reminded herself that everything was well intended. She decided she needed an excuse to communicate her age to her, without being too blunt.

"Oh, don't worry. The last town I lived had a mall as well, and I've been there many times. Admittedly, it's only this one that's unfamiliar. she told her "I've only been here for a few weeks, after all." So far, she didn't see a chance to explain herself, or at least her age.

When Amitie introduced herself, however, she saw her chance "Pleased to meet you. I'm Lucella Astara; I'll be the priestess at the Temple of Naga once the renovations in the building are finished." Lucella told her. Hopefully, the fact that she was employed would drop the hint that despite being a child, she was a great deal more mature than she appeared, although it would be possible to mistake her for 'playing pretend' perhaps. Ah well, she'd just have to see how the girl interpreted it.

Of course, while Amitie had never been on the receiving end of this situation, she thought she was doing a good job! Hell, she didn't even know if her sister was truly appreciated her help, even back then, or was just trying to placate her into not acting even worse...

Being an Oneechan is hard, and she did worry about it every once in a while! It was natural to not want to hurt the people you care about, or that you try to care about! Slip ups can happen, but when you're in that role...

Well, you gotta work hard!

"Only a few weeks? Hmm~ I've been here for about a year or so now!" Amitie responded, doing her best to keep the conversation going a bit while they walked. It'd be a boring journey otherwise, after all! The specific store Amitie had in mind was a few floors up. Luckily, escalators would make the journey painless. "Where'd you come from, then? Your name sounds pretty foreign, but your Japanese is quite good." While Amitie had a foreign last-name, she was in fact born in Japan. Many-a-people assumed that she was yet another foreigner when they heard her name or saw her face...

Amitie kind of staggered on asking about the temple of Naga. She was curious, but she was slightly afraid it was something she should know. She wasn't really well-versed in religion as neither of her parents taught her the importance of it, and she outright lapsed in attention during related classes. If it was some big Shintou thing, she would look like a fool, after all!

After a few more moments, they would arrive at front of the store. It wasn't a big-name store, but it was owned by the same company that owned the one she used to drag Kyrie too. "And there~" Amitie pulled away from Lucella's hand, gesturing at the place.

"Is there anything else you need?" Amitie asked, smiling warmly. She was doing her best to make it obvious that it wouldn't be a bother if she did ask.

Assuming the girl was human, her being here a year meant she was likely dealing with someone attending the prestigious Hyakuji High School, considering her apparent age. She sighed a little, and thought "And here I thought that those from a high school for the supernatural would take me a bit more seriously." she thought, still looking for opportunities to drop hints.

"Thank you. I've been practicing; there'd been talk that the old temple would be condemned for some time, so I took a good bit of my spare time to learn it. It took a couple of years of practice to get fluent." she told her. It had been difficult, but she believed that she could do better for herself in a place like this "Florence, though my name is Manaketese, not Italian." Hopefully, asking questions about manaketes would let her clue her into her age.

She'd have been happy to speak at length about her holiness, Naga, but she doubted the girl was interested in a lengthy lecture on her religion; after all, unless she was mistaken, a mall was hardly the place one went to be lectured on religion.

It wasn't a long walk, but they found themselves at the storefront. It looked fair enough, from what she could see "Not in particular. Thank you." she told her. Still, if she wanted to chat some more, then she wouldn't be opposed.
