Senka giggled and smiled, pulling him into a soft hug, to further freak him out before releasing him and patting his head, ruffling his hair further. She smiled. "I think that we should eat now. I am quite starved." she insisted with a wink.

She stood suddenly, freeing Lenny completely and looked down at herself, feet to chest then hands. "Buuuut..... This will not do at all! My jeans are just fine, but I need some shoes and a different shirt. Be a peach and wait a moment while I change?" she asked, skipping off to her room before getting an answer.

Senka changed rapidly in her room, putting on a more complimenting, tight shirt and some slip on flat shoes before skipping back out to confront him again. "All right! You choose the venue!" she instructed happily.

“. . . ummmm, suuure” he let out a relieved sound as she went to go change. He was alone now.

I could escape Looking once again at the closed door like a man looking for his executioner he lightly lifted himself off the couch and took a step forward. He gulped and took another, and then another.

But this could help me with research and . . . maybe He clasped his hand over his mouth to stifle the thought. No, no no no no no no no He wouldn’t even let himself think it. It wasn’t worth getting entrapped for that, he could get that from a number of girls on campus less dangerous than her. . . but . .

Creak He fell on his back as he heard the door open. As Senka came out she would see him rubbing his back from where he had fallen in the middle of the room. He looked her directly in the eyes, and made no explanation.

He began getting back up. “Yeah, I know this place, its great” He said with a nervous energy. To be honest he hadn’t eaten out for about three months. As he headed towards the door he was already thinking of a way out. “I mean we could go to a different place, if you want something else?” he stated, hoping to distract her with idle conversation.

After Senka had skipped back out, she stood there for a moment, a little confused as Lenny hopped back up from the floor, rubbing his back. She looked confused at him, then the couch, then the floor, then back to him before starting to speak. "Did you...?" she managed to get out before Lenny's next frantic line came out.

She followed him as he spoke and headed to the door, quite nervously even more then before. Her mind worked, wondering what he could have been doing to make him so much more startled and flippant. A concerned look crossed her eyes accompanied by an awkward blush rising through her cheeks. "Were you....??" was the next fragment to escape her perplexed expression as Lenny idled on.

Senka temporarily caved, obliging his idle conversation. "Um, no, the place you have in mind is fine, I'm sure." she said, following him out the door. "Lenny, I have to ask you something..... were you..... peaking at me while I changed?" she asked.

While she was flattered, it still weirded her out a bit. It would explain him falling as she opened the door, and the reason he was so suddenly flustered.

He began heading towards the exit of the dorms, at least he assumed he was heading towards the exit of the dorms, he was a bit too frayed to really be paying attention. He had dug himself deep, and he was hoping to find a way out. At least she believed there was a place they were going.

"Lenny, I have to ask you something..... were you..... peaking at me while I changed?"

“ No, of . . . of course not. I mean, why would I even want to?” He seemed a bit stunned, and seemed to have added the last part on as an afterthought. He kept walking while he said this, never turning to look directly at her. In his wanderings he fell upon the exit to the dorms, and had to try about three times before realizing the door said to push to open it instead of pull. Remembering at the last second he turned around and held the door open for Senka.

Senka took pause for a moment at the statement. Initially, she suspected that none of her flirtations had ever set in. That his awkwardness was just that, awkwardness. No nervous charm about it. She tried to push it aside as paranoia, that he actually was peaking and just too nervous to admit it.

She sighed and smiled, continuing onward down the halls with him. When he opened the doors, she bowed to him. "Oh posh you. A statement like that would make me think you don't find me attractive!" she said with a giggle. She punched him lightly in the chest teasingly. Contrary to her previous action, as she passed, her tail lifted and drug under his chin in a sensual manner.

Senka passed him out into the open air and waited patiently for him. "So. Restaurant. Where to. What's it called. What do they have there?" she asked, trying to move the conversation along.

As she moved through the door he took no registry of the playful punch, as her tail went under his chin however, well as Senka walked forward she would hear silence behind her. He recovered in a few seconds and the kitsune would most likely hear his rapid footsteps trying to catch up. Now he faced another challenge, where should they eat?

“Well, . . . It’s this pretty cool place” He hadn’t eaten out in the past year, well he had eaten out, but he didn’t think hunting in the woods counted as ‘out’ when it came to dining. He pulled his phone out of his back pocket and passed it to the haemonculi on his shoulder, trying to keep it from her sight. “It’s a Malaysian / Indian fusion place, that’s . . . down the street. And the name is . . .” All of this sounded like he was reading it off a list, which he was. He quickly walked up to her side so his head would block his shoulder companion’s phone usage. “Well I can’t read malyasian, but it’s great. I’ll pay” he seemed a bit flustered about the name, and took a sudden turn to the left, trying to follow the map on his phone as his shoulder haemonculi read it. He added the last two words as an afterthought, a remnant of taking girls out back in the states. He honestly had no idea if he had enough money to pay for it.

“Does that sound good? I mean, we can find another place if you want” He turned to look at her, clearly putting the haemonculi on his shoulder, holding the phone in plain vision.

Senka kept her pace a bit slow as he hurried to catch up. Once again, she was happy to see that her flirtations were still working. But it always was hit or miss with Lenny. And even if it was a hit, it faded quickly. Senka couldn't count this as a victory. While he was susceptible to her flirtatious nature, he wouldn't succumb.

Senka listened and nodded, waiting for something a little more solid in fact before responding. "Malasian and Indian fusion? Sounds interesting. But I am still game." she said, not caring about the name. She had to do a double take when he suddenly turned, turning and stepping quickly to catch up to him.

"Uh....yeah...." she said in response to the name of the establishment. She tried to push away this awkwardness. "Aww, you are going to cover me? How sweet~!" she said with a smile. "And yes Lenny, I am fine with your choice in dining for the evening."

Senka took a brief pause, looking at the cell wielding haemonculi. "Um... your little friend may have stolen something from you."

“Oh . . . he did” he turned his head to look at the creature on his shoulder, but didn’t seem to do anything about it as he turned and kept moving. He walked to the destination over about seven minutes, using the distraction of following the phone’s turn by turn directions to keep his mind off the tempting figure beside him. He also took a moment to surreptitiously check his wallet and confirm he did probably have enough currency. He tried to stay ahead of her, but the focus on his phone kept him from moving too quickly.

They arrived at the front of a bright colored building with a carved, wooden facade. A few steps out of the large front doors stood a bored looking woman behind a podium, the greeter. Two large, impressive plants straddled the front. “This is the place” he stated to her, acknowledging her for the first time in a few minutes. “Just give me a second to get the table” , he walked up to the greeter to make arrangements.

“A table for two?”

The woman at the podium looked to him, and the girl he had walked up with a gave a knowing smile that Lenny failed to pick up on. “Oh course, come inside, I think we have a table waiting” Her boredom seemed to be gone from her. She moved inside, and Lenny looked to Senka to tell her to follow.

She led them to a round corner table, lit in half light with a clear view of a small, unused stage. The table was unornamented except for one purplish rose, sitting in a small vase. The greeter placed down two menus and some kind of flat, rigid bread with some sauces. “I’ll leave you two alone” she said knowingly, “your waiter should be here shortly”

There was a red tinge to Lenny’s cheeks, the help from the greeter and the decor of the table wasn’t settling right with him, much like the whole of this evening. He looked to the girl beside him and in a jerking motion remembered to pull her chair out before she sat, his hands looked a bit sweaty. None of this was going the way that he planned. “So . . . do you like the decor” He stated a bit hesitantly, speaking of the primary thing on his mind currently.

Senka raised an eyebrow, but did not question the possession of the phone. He seemed a little weird with those things anyways. Senka did not mind the silence. It left her able to breath deeply the fresh air and enjoy the brief walk deeper into town. It also left her open to think of a few more excuses if the interview resumed over their date. Senka needed to keep him convinced she was a kitsune, and not a gumiho. She kept up with Lenny's quick pace with long strides of her legs, almost a slow skip until they arrived at their destination.

Senka smiled up at it and him with a nod. "Looks like a good place to me. I'll wait right here." she said with a nod and a dazzling smile as he went to get them a table. With the knowing look, she quickly jaunted up to him as they were lead to a table. Senka smiled as he pulled her chair out for her. She placed her hand on his as she carefully sat down, her tail trailing across his stomach teasingly. "Take your time." she told the departing hostess.

Senka looked about with a smile. It was a romantic setting, that might help her flirtatious nature sink into him more. But, it was also secluded, which meant that Lenny might resume the interview. "It is quite lovely back here. Very calm and quiet, away from other guests." she said lightly as she traced a finger along the rose.

He reached down and felt her soft tail run through his hand, taking some calming comfort from it in a manner similar to petting a trusted pet; a faint smile appeared on his face. “Yes, I suppose the atmosphere is for the best. Is it strange to see a rose here? I find it a bit out of place in Japan, I don’t think they really grow here” He observed, lightly and absent mindedly pushing his menu from his left to his right. He seemed to suddenly grasp onto something, “Were you born here? Can your people be born outside of Japan, most of the legends of your kind are found here” His eyes and voice spoke of a sudden clarity of purpose, the new setting seemed to refocus him.

He opened up his menu and made a play of reading it, while keeping his eyes glancing at her.

Senka looked at the rose again, pondering where it could have come from. She wondered if roses grew in Japan but chocked it up to an import. The weather seemed fair enough for roses. Not natural, but capable of growing here. She didn't say any of this, she wanted to avoid delving into a scientific conversation with this man. She probably would look like a daft fool.

But as Senka had feared, the interview did indeed resume. No nervousness from the flirting or a cursory glance of menu. Straight to questions. Senka gave a small chuckle, that was half amused and half apprehensive before nodding. "Yes, I was born in Japan. A long long time ago." she informed him.

Senka plucked up her menu and slowly browsed the list. She wasn't quite sure what to order and would probably wait to see what Lenny ordered. She took a pause and looked up from her menu, catching him looking at her. To this, she cast a sly and knowing grin to him.

He held the menu and looked into her smile, the kind of smile that seemed to be oh so suited to a fox. He gave an awkward, tilted grin. His question was too swiftly answered, and he felt as if he were abandoned at sea, trapped in her domain once again.

A waiter came with two glasses of water. “Umm . . . the number 87? he stated questioningly. It was one of those restaurants where every dish was numbered, more so for saving the customers embarrassment at the hands of the foreign tongue than for the cause of simple simplicity. The waiter looked to Senka next.

After the orders were taken they were alone again. He looked to her as silence seemed to drag on, the invisible pressure seeming to build on him. It wouldn’t be right to continue the interview, he knew that, the atmosphere had changed and would wither any attempt at that. He felt the need to say something.

“Umm . . . Senka?” he asked, fidgeting and looking as if he felt the need to get something out. “Umm, well, you and . . . me . . . . . Is this, . . an actual thing?” He looked toward her, kind of disoriented and shaky from her wiles and words.

Senka reminisced for a moment, reflecting on what she remembered, or what she cared to remember from her long past life. It seemed so long ago, and it wad. She snapped back into reality pretty quick when she saw Lenny's tilted grin, widening her own smile slightly before being distracted by the approaching waiter.

Senka looked over the menu again and went with an assumption, something they were bound to have. "I am sure you have a chicken or goose liver curry. That is what I will have." she said, offering the menu back. She hoped Lenny would not add that to his list of clues to discovering her true species, if he ever got suspicious.

After that, the tension in the air held thick. It even made Senka squirm a but, not sure how to breach it. But she didn't have to.

“Umm . . . Senka? Umm, well, you and . . . me . . . . . Is this, . . an actual thing?”

Senka surpressed a smile or smirk, her ears raising to points and her head tilting slightly. The ideal picture of curiosity, or maybe confusion. "Oh? And What do you mean by that Lenny?"

As she leaned a bit forward she would see a kind of drawing in on his face. The physical expression of a calming inhalation. “Don’t worry, you just answered” he said in an outward breath that sounded, well, disatisfied. He allowed the silence to lead on a moment before drinking from his glass of water. An aura of gloom and defeat surrounded him. Though to be honest he didn’t know why. From the corner of his eye he could see the waitress advancing.

Once again, Senka flashed her beautiful, yet mischievous grin to him. "Did you not believe me the first time? Don't look so disappointed. I meant it when I said it." she spoke clearly and slowly, leaning in with each sentence she finished until she was leaning over the table towards him. "You have nothing to worry about. This is absolutely a date. And this is absolutely happening."

She ended with an attractive smile, showing off some of her sharper teeth. She saw the waitress inbound to the table and timed her speech so that she dropped the confirmation bomb on Lenny, just before she got there, hopefully leaving him astounded, speechless, and utterly embarrassed, babbling or unable to respond. While she did love messing with people, she was developing an interest for Lenny.

At least so far. As long as he didn't figure out her secret...
