It was a day not unlike the one when three Hyakujian students stumbled upon a mysterious girl looking through the ruined shelves in an equally ruined library. And though the ambience may be similar, the setting of this particular meeting would be in a place that some would consider more fitting than the remains of the library. Once again Alexia was looking for clues to the past, but this time she was looking through the ruins of the abandoned church where she was first found by Sophia. Long ago this was her home, but now it was a mere shadow of its former glory. The winged girl rose from a kneeling position in front of what’s left of the altar, having finished a small prayer for those who were lost during that fateful day when she was sealed away. All traces of that day were lost by now, on the surface at least, perhaps there were answers to be found in the catacombs below. Unfortunately said catacombs had collapsed when she was awoken, but if she were to dig through the remains maybe she can find a journal or something that survived. Such was her intent, but she still faced the problem of how she was going to get down there. Walking over to the door that once led to the cellar, she opened it to see that the passage down had collapsed as well and all that remained was a pile of rubble. Even with Rakanoth’s and Sariel’s help it would take far too long to clear it out, so she turned away, only to suddenly stop in her tracks. “Is someone there…?” |

Turning misery into meaningfulness!

Of course, after the events of last night (and a well deserved 'thinking nap', which was really just a regular nap.), Shirena had taken off to attempt to find Alexia. Of course, the first place he had checked was the forest, where he first encountered her. To little surprise, she wasn't there. After that, he checked the ruined library (as well as any other libraries in the city, since there were less than expected.) but she seemed to lack a presence there as well. Of course, the only other place he could check was the only place she seemed to take interest in. If she wasn't there, perhaps Sophia would have an idea of where she was. He creaked open the partially opened front door. "Um...hello?" He said, to find...Finally! He saw the girl he was looking for, though she seemed quite startled by his presence. "Um, yeah, its me, Shirena. I've been looking for you for some time." He said with a soft sigh. "I'm sorry, I just...what are you doing here, anyway?" |

“You’ve been looking for me…?” Alexia held her ground, a bit uncertain at what the boy’s words implied. The last time someone said they were looking for her they wound up killing everyone she ever knew and cared about, so it stands to reason that she was a bit apprehensive. But fortunately for Shirena, he had left a decent impression on her, better than what she had of the other Hyakujians anyways, so she was more inclined to hear him out. That was probably the reason why neither Rakanoth nor Sariel showed themselves or alerted Alexia of his presence. “Well… this used to be my home so… I don’t know… I was hoping there might be something left here…” While she didn’t exactly lie to him, she didn’t tell him the whole truth either. Not many people knew about the catacombs below in this day and age, and Alexia preferred to keep it that way for now. If word got out it might draw a lot of unwanted attention to both the ruins and possibly her too. In fact, that Shirena looking for her was making her a bit uneasy as is, and it showed clearly despite her efforts to hide it. “U…Umm… why were you looking for me…?” |

Turning misery into meaningfulness!

He nodded slightly. "I see. Its understandable why you'd be here, of course. I just needed to ask you some questions, is all..." He said, with a somewhat troubled tone, one that seemed...uncertain, amongst other things. "I...I had learned of something you may or may not have done in the past. I know its not true, but even if it is...I want to hear the whole story from you." He walked into the church, a bit closer. Hopefully she wouldn't take this as a moment of hostility. "....There are people who want you dead. They called me and a few others who had met you to them. Said something about you being some sort of religious weapon." He said, with a slight raising of his eyebrow. "I don't know if that's true, but I trust you more than I trust some creepy woman hiding her face...so I want to know who you really are, Alexia." He said, with a sincere, comforting tone, as though he had let his guard down completely for her. |

The next thing Shirena would feel was a rush of wind by his neck and a small explosion from behind. “What are you getting at child? What do you know about these people?” In a flash Rakanoth had appeared in his wing and had what appeared to be a bow with an arrow of pulsing dark energy in his hands. He had shot a similar arrow just now as a warning to the pyromancer, but if it weren’t for Alexia trying her best to contain him he probably would have aimed for a fatal blow. “Is that really what you came for? Or are you leading our enemies to us?” The hooded skull growled dangerously as Sariel showed herself as well, and began looking around the ruins for any signs of other people. As for Alexia she tried to say something but Sariel held her back, wrapping her arms around the girl protectively. Rakanoth drew the bowstring back, this time his aim locked dead on Shirena’s chest. “Tell us everything, NOW!” |

Shirena growled slightly, moving out of the way more of the arrow that had missed him. "Take a moment and LISTEN!" He said, with a sort of urgency in his voice. "I don't know everything. I'm still trying to figure it all out, but...I won't harm my friend!" He said, with the utmost certainty. He seemed quite a bit agitated by the arrow about to be directed at his chest, holding his ground, and looking at the hooded skull. "I don't know anything, and unless you are able to help me figure this out, I don't know what will happen. What I DO know is that, if I can disprove what I had just said earlier, the assassin they had hired will be called off, due to misinformation. So if we help each other out, it'll be beneficial for you three, and I'll be keeping you further from death." He had a distinct...anger in his voice. He sighed. "They had only brought the three of us that were in the library. One of them will be recieving one yen, the other two refused, myself, and Seth. So will you just LISTEN?!" |

“Called off? Called off? Hah!” Rakanoth laughed, a cold harsh laugh that seemed to drain the warmth out of the very air. “You have no idea who you’re dealing with do you? Four hundred years ago there was only one group of people who called us a weapon. If what you say is true, then that would mean they’re hunting us to this day. Do you think someone who’s waited four hundred years to kill us will just back off because a boy told them they made a mistake?” Fortunately Rakanoth did lower the bow, but not his guard, and Sariel eased her grip on Alexia who finally spoke up. “When I was created I was told that I am a symbol of unity, a guardian of the people.” Her voice was strangely steady and held a strong conviction. “Not everyone shared that sentiment though… and so…” She gestured at Rakanoth with his bow in hand, then at Sariel who now held a sword made of ice. “Tell me, do you think I’m a weapon?” |

"If I did, do you think I would tell you all this? And skull face, I'm saying they hired a student to kill you. I'm making sure they don't catch you off guard, and I'm making damn sure you aren't killed!" He said. "I don't care if you're some sort of weapon!" He said to them. He sighed softly. "The last thing I want is for people to die, especially not a friend, even if you don't see me as such." He said stoutly. His eyes lit up like flames, and he stood his ground. "You are not a weapon. Nor are you a monster, or a creep. I've been called that before, and I've payed for not gaining allies when I could have. Don't make my mistakes" |

“Well unfortunately it doesn’t matter what you think boy, and frankly it doesn’t even matter if we’re a weapon or not. Those people see us as a threat, and they will try to kill us, and we will not just lie down and die.” Rakanoth was as harsh as ever, but he was completely serious. “If a student agreed to work for them, then we will fight back just the same, it matters not who it is!” Alexia nodded sadly and lowered her arms. “Thank you for trying to help, but Rakanoth is right. These people are after my blood, it’s very likely that people will die, if not me, then them.” She smiled sincerely at Shirena, genuinely thankful that he was trying to help. “I can’t ask you to fight my battles, especially when it puts you at risk of dying. There’s no need to worry about me though, because they are right about one thing… I am a weapon, even if I don’t want to be.” |

He thought for a moment. "Okay then." He said, with a small smile. "Then I'll fight for you. You're my friend, after all!" He looked up at the partially destroyed, yet stable roof. "I don't care if I may die!" He said, before looking back to Alexia. "If someone needs my help, I'm always up to help out, ya know?" He said, with a childish grin. He looked around. "So....you're here to find some sort of remnants of people you once knew?" He said. "I could help!" He grinned somewhat, and walked over to her. "That's okay, right? I don't think thats putting myself in harms way." |

“Hmph. Words come cheap boy. We’ll see what happens when the assassins come.” The hooded skull made it perfectly clear that he believes Shirena was just saying that. You can’t really blame him though, it was very unlikely that someone would put their lives on the line for someone they barely know after all. Fortunately Alexia was more welcoming of the boy’s willingness to help. “W…well whatever the case I’m grateful you offered Shirena. It’s good to see that there are more people on my side than I expected.” She gave the boy a little bow before looking around at the ruins with him. “Like I said, this used to be my home so I was hoping to find something that might have survived. Unfortunately nothing on the surface did, and the catacombs is well…” The girl gestured at the doorway leading to the pile of rubble blocking the way down. It didn’t look like anything short of an excavator would be able to clear the path. |

Shirena looked at the hooded wingskull with a nod. "I'll try not to let you down." He said with a small grin, before returning his eyes to Alexia, who seemed a bit distraught about...catacombs? That sounds so interesting! Wait...crap. "Covered in rocks and rubble, huh." He looked at the opening, with a small observant look. "Hey, I hope you don't mind if I show you...what I can kinda do." He said, before taking a step back, and taking a small running start to smash his hand into the rocks. Just before the hand impacted, he opened up his hand, his palm revealing a flash of light, and an explosion clears the path, blowing Shirena back somewhat. He stumbles a tad, but regains his balance. "I don't think I did too much damage to the stuff inside. Looks kinda...open." He said, with a smile. "Is that fine?" He said, looking at Alexia. |

Alexia let out a yelp of surprise when Shirena cleared the rubble in a rather… destructive fashion. “U…Umm… I don’t know if that’s safe…..” The girl inched closer to the boy and the entrance apprehensively. “It was pretty unstable when I left the fir… WATCH OUT!!!” In a flash Alexia rushed forward while Sariel pushed Shirena aside. A wolf-like hellhound had crept up behind Shirena and was leaping through the air to attack the boy, but Rakanoth intercepted it by catching it in a mass of writhing tendrils. The beast growled and squirmed as it scratched at Rakanoth, trying to free itself from the hooded skull’s grasp. “Filthy demon scum… DIE!” Alexia’s tail snaked up from behind as a soft growling different from the hellhound’s sounded. Suddenly the tip of Alexia’s tail grew into a gapping maw and clamped down on the beast, causing it to howl out in pain. Its struggles grew weaker and weaker as it withered away, becoming a dried up husk of a corpse. Only when it ceased to move at all did Rakanoth toss it back into the hole. A moment of silence followed, then Rakanoth shot a few more of his dark energy arrows into the passage’s ceiling, collapsing it once more. “It’s too dangerous if those things are still alive… We shouldn’t venture down there yet.” Sariel stroked the girl’s cheek comfortingly and she nodded sadly in return before turning back to Shirena. “…I… I should go. T...thank you for trying to help Shirena.” The girl gave a quick bow before retreating back into the forest and disappearing from sight. |
