Note: Open to up to three, cannot be in the main plot. Knowing Sophia isn't required, but preferred. Bonus points if your character already knows Alexia.

A gentle afternoon light filtered through the foliage and the broken remains of the ruined library, filling the interior with a gentle warm light. Like most other days there wasn’t a single soul amongst the remains save, for a family of birds that had decided to make their nest in one of the burned out bookshelves that lined the walls. Their joyous song filled the air as they celebrated the birth of the newest member of their family, a song of life and happiness.

The singing came to an abrupt stop however when the front door creaked open to reveal a winged girl peeking inside. Seeing no one inside Alexia opened the door fully and began walking alongside the rows and rows of shelves, searching for something. The birds watched her progress, but showed no signs of being afraid of her at all, even when she came upon their nest with the newly born hatchling. In fact they continued singing, as if welcoming her to join them in their celebration.

Alexia smiled warmly and held out her hand as an aura of serenity emanated from her body. “Welcome to the world little one, may your life be filled with joy and your body remain strong.” In response to the girl’s words of blessing the birds nuzzled her hand and flew circles around her, all the while singing happily. “I’d love to play with you, but I can’t right now. There’s something I’m looking for, and I’m hoping I can find it here…”

This guy would've kicked down the door if there were actually any doors left that weren't burned (or already opened for that matter) to kick down.

So his entry was actually sufficiently quiet enough to not be noticed. Supposedly.

Of course, Seth Ryouga isn't going to be making his presence go unnoticed for so long. Passing through the black and charred bookshelves and stepping over the crunching remains of what used to be the library, the young man stopped a bit way behind the girl, arms crossed with his eternally stern and grumbled look, and barked out, "Hoi. Don't you know this place is out of bounds?"

He'd been stalking her ever since he saw her headed here.

...Then what is he doing here?

Well the backside of the school is where he usually hangs out, since it's almost always devoid of people, so...

ZEHAHAHA!!
"Out of bounds, huuuuh?" Once more, a certain white haired fool had come to the library. Of course, this time she wasn't playing a game with her partner. No, she was having her own brand of fun in re-exploring these ruins. She had an affinity for ravaged places, after all.

"That's because you're trying to find some treasure, aren't you? But that's okay Seth, I can share~!"

Of course, in this case it happened to be a girl. Hmm. She stuck her tongue out and closed one eye as she mimed a cutting motion across the blue haired girl's body.

"Left or right? I'm fine with either half."

Wait, she needed the whole thing for it to be fine. Alright then, maybe kidnapping for a night or two would be enough to satiate her curiousity. But wait a second, maybe Seth was here to follow the girl. So what was the girl here for? Maybe she was the one looking for treasure! Lucid rubbed her hands as she giggled.

Ooh, she liked it when the plot thickened!

"Belay that, King Solomon's solution is not going to work here. What were you looking for?" She called out to the stranger.

Books. That was the goal for today's less-than stellar excavational search. What better place to search than that of an old, abandoned library! This place is bound to be riddled with books of all sorts! It only makes sense!

Shirena was already knee deep in burnt and ruined books, scathed by an unknown disaster. Such history slept within these books, and few left these walls....except some that he stol-er, borrowed along with an older friend. Of course he heard the birds singing. He loved the tone of their songs, and mostly stayed within earshot of them...

Then a voice was heard. Shirena's arms were already full of books of various forms and sizes. Of course, Shirena took the stealthy option. He immediately walked out to see who was out there. Of course, if it were the Committee, he'd be screwed, but it was a doubtf- oh god damn it.

As soon as Alexia came into view, so did Seth, and that really worried Shirena. Of course, again, he took stealth. He put the books down, and looked at Seth, and Alexia, wondering what the latter was doing here.

Sadly, he was kinda also standing there, with a friendly wave to Alexia and Seth.

Stealth expertise at it's finest.

Alexia let out a small squeak of surprise when she heard Seth’s voice from behind and the birds flocked backed to their nest to protect the hatchling. At the same time all traces of the soothing aura vanished to be replaced by one filled with menace as the feathers in her wings bristled with energy. Unlike the aura she gave off however, Alexia’s body language showed that she was nervous and unsure of herself. In fact anyone who can detect traces of magic would be able to tell that there were two, or rather, three presences where Alexia was standing.

“I…I’m pretty sure that rules only apply to students… And since I’m not a student I’m e… Ah…” The winged girl gulped nervously when two more people showed up, though at least one of them was a familiar face. When she met Shirena, the boy seemed friendly, but they hardly talked enough to be considered “friends” or even “acquaintances” for that matter. Unfortunately the treasure hunting girl was a bit too… enthusiastic for Alexia. Considering how it was similar to how certain individuals reacted to her in the past, it was putting the girl slightly on edge.

Her wings seemed to flare slightly and the aura intensified, causing the family of birds to cower in their nest. Before things could get any worse however, she took a deep breath and everything calmed somewhat. “Umm… I don’t think there are any treasures hidden here miss… That’s not what I’m here for…” She looked between the three Hyakujians as she took a step back, bumping against the bookshelf as she did. “I’m looking for information, something that can tell me what happened 400 years ago…”

As she finished speaking she glanced at Seth, the young man would know exactly why she was looking information like that. “M…More specifically I’m hoping to see what happened to the ruined church out back and maybe…” Her voice cracked a bit, but she carried on a second later. “Maybe if there were any survivors and what happened to them…”

...That doesn't mean it's still not out of bounds, doesn't she know why some places are out of bounds in the first place?! "It doesn't only apply to just students, this place is restricted in the first place because it's dangerous!" I mean seriously, no one here thinks that a burned down ruined building doesn't have the chance to all of a sudden collapse and endanger anyone unlucky enough to be around inside the building?!

As if that wasn't enough to irritate him, here comes another two, much joy to him. "You guys can't be serious..." The young man couldn't quite say anything else, staring at the other two only just joining with utter disbelief. One looking for... treasure apparently...? And the other one... he was sure he saw him with that Tomato girl here before, last time he scolded them for loitering around here too, didn't he? He was nice enough to let them go back then because they were 'hunting for ghost', but now?

Che- dammit. "That church was part of an estate owned by the old Hyakuji family from a long time ago," The young man barked out at Alexia, tapping his foot impatiently as he began explaining from what he learned of this city. "The story was that the servants revolted and burned down the whole manor. Years passed and some rich people bought the land to make a school, then the whole place got burned down again after a few decades from an unexplained fire that started from the library, this very place we're all standing on here,"

He gave a sigh after finishing his explanation, actually managing to cool himself off a bit with that much talking. In fact his voice was less angry and more lazy and grumpy as it had always been. "I don't know if the church was involved back then or not, but I'm just going to assume it is. If you're really intent on looking for survivors, just don't get your hopes up lest you want your spirit to be completely crushed," ...Oh what, he's actually not telling her to get away from this place? "Since you're not actually a student here, I don't really have any rights to tell you off,"

...And he ended up just using her own excuse to let her off the hook. Sometimes you really can't tell if he's really mean or really ni- "Now what about you two?" All of a sudden he barked out to Shirena and Lucid, his angry voice back in full force. "There isn't going to be any treasures here, and if you want books you can go to Hiro's bookstore in town or the library, they have better collections than this place where everything is burned down anyway," ...Putting aside that he might actually be a mind reader sometimes, it's really hard to tell whether he's actually really mean or really nice.

"Oh hey, now I know this is important. You aren't so cheeky unless you take the situation seriously, Seth! At least, that's what partner said about you." Lucid smiled widely, her arms held out as if she was surprising somebody.

"Also, a 400 year old mystery is super cool. What could this little munchkin be worrying about, if she wasn't really connected to the incident? Ooh, let's go dig up some answers!"

She giggled, clearly enjoying this mess. Oh, those two behind the girl didn't seem so amused, though. She'd deal with those floaty ones if they interfered with her fun, though. In fact, she even waved to those two presences.

"See you, nyahaha~" She laughed.

Shirena looked at Seth with a small sigh. "But these books are soooo cool!" Shirena said, with a small smile. "I found all these cool old tomes about pyromancy, and necromancy, and spells, and stuff. Its really, really cool!" He said, with a soft grin. "Besides, I've been too low on cash to visit the store, and I don't really like returning books. Much prefer keeping them for future reading."

He looked at Alexia. "Survivors, huh?" He said. Having been to the ruined church multiple times, he knew that, of all the people who knew about anything about the location, it'd be Sophia. "Why not ask Sophia, she's quite knowledgable about the church..." He then realized she probably wasn't allowed back there. "A-at least, that's what I heard..." He said to Seth, trying to make sure he didn't think that she was in such a forbidden area. "Like...ya know....rumors." He said.

Except nobody does rumors in Hyakuji. Best plan ever.

“I… I’m prepared for that possibility.” Alexia’s words held more strength and conviction than one would expect from her given how she was all nervous earlier. “I know that I’ll probably find nothing, or that they’re all dead, but I want to know for certain.”

Though as soon as Seth mentioned going to town or the library at school, the girl drew back again and looked around nervously, trying to avoid eye contact with any of the three students gathered here. “I heard that there’s something called the… Inter…net? I heard it could help in my search, but then I’d have to go into the city and… see lots of… people…

“Alexia… you know it’s much easier to find what you seek in a proper library instead of the ruins of one.”

A soft feminine voice came from Alexia’s pale blue wing, causing the girl to fall silent, and the feathers on it shifted and morphed into the visage of a woman’s head. No sooner did she emerge than the feathers on her dark green wing stir as well, forming the shape of a hooded skull. Both of these new figures focused on Lucid as the girl said that she could “see” them, as if challenging her to do something. The hooded skull was clearly more hostile than the woman however, and glared at Lucid with a glowing red eye. “And so what if you can see us girl?” Unlike the pale woman’s voice his was icy cold and was completely devoid of any of the humour that Lucid showed. “If you cause any trouble for Alexia I won’t show you any mercy!”

“R…Rakanoth! Please stop that!” Alexia cried out in horror as the hooded skull threatened Lucid, and he turned away with a hiss. “I…I’m sorry about that… they’re overprotective of me…” The girl sighed. “Sariel’s right though… but I really don’t want to be in a place with lots of people yet… I don’t know if I can trust them… especially Sophia.” Her eyes hardened as she looked up a Shirena while both Rakanoth and Sariel tensed at the mention of the Valkyrie’s name. “I’m sorry, but I… I still don’t know if I should trust you three either…” There was something behind her reasons that was more than mere shyness, something that ran much deeper, and the look in her eyes showed that she held an odd distrust for… well, everyone.

"...Oi! I said not to go in, get back here dammit!" After all he said and with all of his scary threatening face and tone, that cheery girl just completely ignored everything and went in anyway! Admittedly this isn't the first time the intimidation tactic doesn't work on people, but it's always irritating when they just laughed when he's trying so hard to be threatening!

...Look, it's either that or he has to resort to actually punching! And believe him when he says he's actually doing his best not to punch too much! His attempt to chase after the cheery girl was stopped short by the guy out of nowhere mentioning Sophia. It wasn't even mild surprise or curiosity. Probably won't be quite noticeable by the others, if at all, but the young man actually tensed up on the spot.

It was nice of Alexia to attention back to herself, allowing the young man to focus on something else instead and pushed what's nagging him to the back of his mind. "...Che, you're stubborn," He said with a scoff, not really bothering to turn to look at her. "Look lady. No one asked for you to trust them. Do whatever you want, the rest of us have got more important things to do than trying to gain trust of a four hundred year old hag who can't even accept reality. Now if you excuse me- OI, GET BACK HERE!!"

And... off he goes, being as unsympathetic and cold-hearted as ever.

"Awww, looks like somebody's a krabby patty...." Lucid laughed, pointing at the grim reaper-like demon. "Don't be like that. It's not like I'm threatening Lexie~!"

The white haired fool raised one hand and pointed at the blue haired girl with a goofy smile.

"Right now, she's got a big mystery attached to her. I'm more interested in that. Once it's done, there's no more reason for me to keep on paying attention to her, yep. End of the line for my interest!"

In that way, she was brutally honest. No way she'd keep on dealing with things that weren't going to catch her fancy. She would move on to better grounds.

"So, come on! Super detective Seth, let's go scrounge for clues~!" Lucid laughed. "And then we can have a biiig dinner after that."

Shirena sighed. He kinda expected not to be trusted, after all, they had only met not too long ago. He smiled softly, and nodded. "I understand why you can't trust me, but you don't have to be wary of everyone you meet. I don't know what's going on between you and Sophia, but..." He sighed softly. "...well, if you need any help from someone, just let me know. I'm always up to help out, if ya need it." He said, with a soft smile.

"And if you want me to help you find whatever you're looking, I'm always up for something fun!" He said, with a childish grin. He seemed quite happy with his declaration.

To be honest, while he did want to help her...he also wanted a good reason to get away from Seth, who Shirena was fairly sure would pummel him for beig in here in the first place. The treasure hunter girl....she seemed interesting, to say the least. They would certainly have to talk sometime. It's make for a fun time.

To say that Alexia wasn’t disappointed at the sudden departure of the students would be a lie, and there was a crestfallen look clear on her features. Sensing her sadness Sariel reached over and gently stroked the girl’s cheek. “This is for the best Alexia. There’s too much we don’t know about this time, it’s too risky.”

The winged girl nodded and sighed. “I guess you’re right Sariel… But it would have been nice to make some friends…” She walked up to an open window and watched the students leave. “I don’t like being all alone…”

“Choose your friends wisely Alexia. Don’t let just anyone into your life because you’re feeling lon… Who goes there!? Alexia whirled around just to catch a fleeting shadow disappearing from one of the holes in the roof. “…I sense treachery… We shouldn’t stay here any longer.”

“Y…You’re worrying too much Rakanoth, it was probably just a bird or something!” The hooded skull made to retort, but Alexia held up a finger to his face and smiled slightly. “Don’t worry, we won’t be here for too long. I just want to look around a bit more, alright?”

Seeing that he couldn’t dissuade the girl Rakanoth grudgingly nodded his consent, but did not retreat into Alexia’s wing. The girl then returned to the shelves, looking for any books that may have survived the building’s destruction. There would be no birdsong to accompany her search this time, only a silent stillness that permeated the air.
