Replacing Runelle Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Isabelle Delacroix Gender: Female Age: 10 (at death) Over 400 (chronologically) Height: 4' 2" Weight: 0 Lbs Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() It's worth noting that underneath her dress, Isabelle still bears the wound that killed her, though it no longer causes her pain. Occupation: None Powers/ Abilities: [Intangibility]: Pretty much comes standard with ghosts. Isabelle can only be touched by a few things, such as other intangible beings and any type of item specially capable of interacting with ghosts. Due to her intense fascination with her puppets in life, however, Isabelle can also interact with any item that could be considered to be a doll or a puppet. This is a double edged sword, however, as they can also be used as weapons against her. Note that she can elect not to phase through something, but she can't 'interact' with the object. Rather, she just keeps herself from going through it. If she tried to punch someone, her fist would simply stop at their skin without actually hurting them, for example. [Puppet Mistress]: Isabelle is genius in many ways with puppets. She's capable of upgrading them, casting minor enchantments (during crafting, not combat), and repair. She's also extremely skilled at actually using them in combat. Coming up and fitting upgrades to the puppets takes time, however, particularly since said upgrades often having to be made using puppets (in other words, puppet upgrades are a season powerup). [Lost Angel] Isabelle's actual puppet, which was a combat-oriented puppet upgraded from her father's designs. The main weapon that Isabelle uses on it are a pair of summonable steel short swords with a ghost touch property, capable of harming the living and dead alike. The puppet's strength could be considered to be peak human, about as powerful as a real world champion human weightlifter, though she hasn't yet upgraded it to superhuman levels yet. The strings of the puppet are nearly indestructible. She can also easily track it down if it's stolen from her. The puppet can heal itself. It can regenerate from any damage it takes over the course of the day, even if it's reduced to scrap. In that case, Isabelle simply takes the paddle, and carries it off. It's worth noting that Lost Angel is Isabelle's sole means of combat, so even if you can't personally attack her, damaging Lost Angel to where it can no longer be controlled by her puppetry effectively takes her out of the battle. Equipment You Have: Lost Angel Utility Puppets (Minor Puppets Typically Used For Upgrades. Useless in combat.) Residency Request: Homeless Personality Description: While she was once mentally well-grounded, the deaths of her and her friends drove her somewhat insane. While she can usually keep the persona of a genius, mature girl under fair weather, any appreciable emotional pain causes her to have a mental breakdown in some way or another. This can come in forms ranging from crying, to angrily shouting, to a chilling, ghostly wail. When Isabelle is interested in something, she tends to focus deeply on it, often at the expense of other things. She tends to overanalyze and overthinking things, causing her to be indecisive as well. She tends to carry herself with a bit of class, reflecting her upbringing as the daughter of a wealthy merchant. She's also surprisingly well educated for her time, not only being literate, but being well versed in history, religion and literature... for her time period. She'd come up as ignorant nowadays. She's particularly helpful, if you haven't offended her. That being said, she's still a child, and is still prone to being childish. It's also worth noting that she isn't very fond of the fact that she's dead, annoyed that she can't eat, or touch things. This is particularly annoying since she probably needs a hug. Focusing too much on it is likely to cause her to break down, so it's a good idea to keep talk about that, as well as the incident where she died, to a minimum. Personal History: Isabelle was French by nationality, but she's only even known Japan. She was born as the only daughter of a merchant belonging to the French East India Company, who was in charge of the company in Japan. Her father was a patron of the missionaries there, and she'd enjoyed good relations with the church. Isabelle's father had no sons. With his wife haven gone barren after her birth, her father focused his efforts on her, believing that he could train her to be an attractive marrage option to a high ranking nobleman when she grew up, particularly considering the dowry she could bring with her. Isabelle was given the sort of education that one would expect a nobleman to give his son, as well as her mother giving her lessons on how to be a 'proper lady'. She was even trained in Japanese culture, to some extent. Most notably, knowing that the Japanese nobles might want someone who could defend the household, Isabelle was trained by her father in his own hobby. Isabelle's father was skilled at making enchanted puppets, as well as fighting with them, and to his delight, Isabelle took to it very well. When the closed Closed Country Edict Of 1635 was passed, the family had to give more in secret, deciding that they'd do what they would to support the Jesuits in the country. Eventually, however, they were found out. Most priests would have been simply been imprisoned, however, they'd determined that they'd been supporting too many priests to simply jail. As a result, a raid was ordered, and Isabelle and her family were killed, Isebelle being killed after watching her father, mother, and servants die being brutally cut through, Isabelle herself being executed by a samurai. The next night, she woke up, horrified by what she saw. The bodies of her family, and a visiting jesuit lied dead, and behind her, her own corpse. Her psyche couldn't handle it, and Isabelle's mind broke, craving vengence for what they'd done to her and her family. She spent a month simply haunting her old home, until she found her old puppet. Finding she could still interact with it, she gleefully upgraded it with regeneration enchantment and blades, making them with the puppet itself. After she was finished, she began her revenge. Her sanity having slipped away from her, began to lash out at everyone she perceived to have had a hand in what had happened to her and her family. The average farmer had nothing to fear. The port city, however, had a garrison of troops that she attacked. Every night, she would find and kill at least one soldier, occasionally two, if they were patrolling together. If for some reason, she was unable to defeat the soldier, such as happened when she occasionally fought a samurai, Isabelle would simply return the next night, killing the them before they could recover from the wounds they'd recover from the night before. Six months passed like this, before a plan was hatched. Isabelle's puppet was destroyed once more, though she merely picked up a fragment of it, telling them they'd bought themselves another night. Turning back, en route to the forest outside the city, she walked into a hidden sealing circle set up by a number of mikos, and she and the fragment of her puppet were sealed into a large clay pot, the sort you'd hold water in. Sealed away, she slowly came to terms with her death, though she found herself unable to continue on. Perhaps it was because all the blood on her hands, perhaps it wasn't. She wasn't exactly sure she wanted to move on anyways. She forgave the military, on the basis that she'd extracted her price for her and her families needless deaths from the blood of the military. Still, Isabelle spent most of her time dreaming. Some of them pleasant, some of them nightmares. More the later than the former. The sealed pot ended up being passed between a few shrines before a clumsy miko at Hyakuji Shrine managed to break it, releasing her. Mashed Potatoes? There is no spoon, not that I could touch it if there was one. Edited by Tzauri, Apr 17 2014, 07:33 PM.

Just one small thing, otherwise it looks greats~ This line:
is a bit too vague an open-ended. Unless this is just a means to an end for future power upgrades. As written it kind of sounds like you can buff up the puppet when not actually fighting, but then there's no details on what. |

Clarified it. Upgrades are a season power up. Also added 'utility puppets' that have no special powers, and that are only used for upgrading her Lost Angel. Edited by Tzauri, Apr 17 2014, 08:30 PM.
