NOTE: Currently open to Heleth, Izumi, Yuzuki, and Ethan

By now word had gotten around that the Student Council Vice President had been stabbed. Fortunately it seems that the worst was over, and that Sophia wasn’t in any danger for the time being, though she was still in the hospital under observation. The police had already come by asking if she knew anything about her attacker, but strangely enough Sophia had refused to talk, and even asked the police to drop the case, merely stating that “it was alright”.

Of course, her friends probably won’t share that sentiment, and might want answers. Her recent behaviour had been enough to worry them as is, justified by her as the result of a realization, but now it seemed that she had calmed down somewhat and regained her usual demeanour. Who knows, maybe Sophia will be more willing to talk to them now instead of the police.

Now, the Ordinary Magician isn't exactly the most attentive of fellow around. Aside from anything that's within his circle of interest, he's often what you would call... out of it, never one to really bother getting to know anything that doesn't really concern him.

Sophia's admittance to the hospital however, is very well within the circle of interest. Which is why, if the Valkyrie is still in her proper ward, she would hear the sound of someone faintly calling her name from out the window, gradually getting louder. "Soooophhhhiiiieeeeeee!"

If she turned to the window, she would be just in time to see the form of an odd blond young man with a large pointed hat on a broom zooming right at her before smacking and stopping dead against the window with a weird splat. "...Eowgh..."

It's a different flavor of extravagant entrance that he's so used to making.

Someone open the window.

It's not like she hurried to the hospital as soon as she heard about the voices speaking of Sophia's accident. It certainly wasn't because she was worried about the Vice President's condition, but Heleth Mastema just entered the room where Sophia was resting with a lot of questions in her mind and a large beehive hairstyle on her head.
The timing couldn't be more perfect, as the boy that slammed on the window did it exactly as she was entering, causing her to jerk in surprise.

Just what was that pityful show her eyes witnessed?
The spiked fangs in the opened mouth of the startled Heleth Mastema were barely visible behind the line of her lips.
She was sure she saw that flat face on the wall somewhere else...

Oh yes, it was the boy that was with Sophia during the last Valentine's ball, before Seth and Jonny caused all that commotion! Except his face wasn't that flat.
The red demon sighed as she completed her entrance into the room and trotted toward the window.
"Hi there Sophia" she said, giving precedence to the schoolmate slowly sliding down the glass. Too many explaination to give: should they find a demon in the room where a boy fell down from God knows what could happen "I guess I have to save your admirer from death, so you now owe me one."

Her beehive dissolved as her strands opened the window. Heleth extended her hands outside and grabbed the splatted mage, pulling him inside with all the strength a small framed girl could afford.
As such, she panted and growled a little too for the effort it costed her.
"Curses, you're heavy!"
She almost fell when the boy's weight went briefly all on her.
Flinching a little, the demon girl regained her usual composure, as her hair refitted itself back into the large beehive she had before.

"Next time I'll let you fall!" she threatened as her dual layered eyes looked for Sophia's.

"I hope you have some valid reason for not using your healing skill for this!" she stated to her with a somewhat offended tone.

"OH GOD KILL IT WITH FIRE!" "That reaction is how I KNOW I did a good job!"
It was unlike Yuzuki not to be prompt. One might have expected her to be the first arrival at the hospital, given she was Sophie's surrogate mother figure and her roommate no less. She had heard of the attack on her daughter. What had caused her to be a little delayed was a pair of detours she took.

The first involved her visiting her father's office. Higure Saito was a judge in Hyakuji's legal system, so she asked him what would likely happen in regards to the attack. Higure explained wearily that many attacks happen suddenly, and due to the extreme variety of sources and even empowered culprits, they were extremely difficult to pin down quickly. He was not privy to the police's activities and investigations, additionally, until they were immediately relevant to a legal case. Yuzuki thanked him and set out for her second detour, then arrived at the hospital and sought out Sophie.

Yuzuki arrived, with her usual basket of produce and fresh food under her arm. And a substantial bouquet of flowers! A nurse who had seen Yuzuki carrying the flowers provided a vase for them before leaving after, and Yuzuki quietly set the flower vase within Sophie's field of comfortable vision.

Opening her basket, she perhaps would have been expected to pull out food, but that was incorrect for now. Instead, she had multiple cards and letters wishing Sophie well, encouraging her and hoping she'd get better soon. One of them, a particularly large one, was signed by each of the children at her daycare, featuring very rough, rudimentary writing of their names.

Sitting down on the hospital bed besides Sophie, she held the girl's hand tenderly in her own. Her passive serenity aura draped a soft veil of calm over the room, Yuzuki's presence as usual having a minor soothing effect. Her voice, likewise, carried a supernatural quality to it that conveyed Yuzuki's loving personality clearly, quiet though deeply caring. Yuzuki knew what Sophie had been going through prior to the attack, so was immensely concerned.

"I am here. I will always be at your side, Sophie, and I will promise that as many times as you wish. I've brought you food and cards from friends...do you want to rest? Don't worry about my thoughts on this...Your well-being matters first."

The Hospital, a cesspool of sickness and dying men. While Ethan did have trust...ok he had absolutely no trust in any of the janitors. The boy wouldn't even consider going into one, especially with concerns about healthcare that might end up costing him a fortune (he had no real knowledge of any Japanese medical bills, but they always cost a fortune). However, through sheer chance, Ethan had heard the news of his friend being hurt.

'And you must do your best for your friend.' Ethan sighed as he faced the hospital, arms covered in gloves and backpack filled with wipes.

A good 3 hours later, he had finally managed to arrive outside her room. The boy took a deep breath, opened the door, and took a glance inside. There he saw Sophia in her hospital bed, as expected. Unfortunately, the sight of 3 other people he had no knowledge of sent him running away with a squeak.

'OtherPeopleOtherPeopleOtherPeopleOtherPeopleOtherPeople'

It was only after collapsing due to the run did he finally calm down. After hoping that they were merely other friends of hers, the boy walked back to the room, stood outside the doorway, and threw a paper airplane into the room with a message.

[This is Jones. Is everything ok Sophia?]

Sophia would indeed be in her ward, and most certainly took notice of the sound of a familiar voice that seemed to be far off. Soon enough The face of Izumi appeared on her window in a hilarious manner that caused the girl to giggle out loud. Before she could get out of bed to open the window for the Ordinary Magician however, another familiar face in the form of Heleth entered and did the job for her. “Yeah, I guess I do. Thank you Heleth.” Heleth might find it strange considering how their last meeting went, but Sophia actually smiled at her, sincerely too, before calling out to Izumi. “Izumi you should come in before you fall off your broom, or should I go over there and pull you in by your cheek?” Reprimanding as her words sounded, her tone was actually a joking one, and she even stuck her tongue out at the young man a bit.

The next person to come in wasn’t nearly of a surprise as Izumi or Heleth’s presence, but welcome nonetheless. “I really worried you and the children, didn’t I? I’m sorry Yuzuki…” She seemed a bit upset at first, but soon cheered up when she read the cards that her adoptive mother had brought. As she was reading the cards a paper airplane drifted into the room and landed on her lap. She curiously picked it up and noticed there was writing on it, grinning slightly as she recognized the writing. “You can come in Ethan.” Sophia called out to the boy hiding outside the door. “These are friends of mine, very nice people too, so there’s no need to be nervous.”

Regardless of whether or not Ethan came in, Sophia would gaze upon her friends and family with sincere gratitude. “Thank you for coming everyone, though it’s really unnecessary. The stab missed anything vital and I should be discharged soon.” At Heleth’s question regarding her not using her power however… the smile fell off Sophia’s face a bit. “I would have done that Heleth, but…” She held up her hand and chanted softly. “Lux Curationum.”

Nothing happened.

Anyone who has seen the Valkyrie’s magic would know that her hand normally would have glowed in a white light. “My magic is gone. I can’t cast my weakest spell anymore, let alone call upon the Aesir.” She sighed and dropped her hand, lowering her head so that her silver hair cascaded over her eyes. “I don’t know what happened… Last thing I remember I was with Seth, and I asked him to help me with my… problem. I thought maybe he could help since he had to deal with whatever it is living inside him. He asked me something, and… the next thing I knew I was here.”

"No please don't let me fall next time and please don't pull my face any more..." Implying he's actually going to repeat this time and time again, but he'll probably learn his lesson to stop and check if there's a window first before trying to fly through it. Regardless, while the flying broom was left outside like a loyal dog he clambered, or rather was pulled in by the red demon, rubbing his sore cheek as he had fallen and planted his face on the floor as well before getting back up.

Luckily for him he really didn't have to ask much for her to start explaining the reason they were all here for in the first place, and he was only interrupted by the flying paper plane hitting him at his temple. "Ow- what?"

Honestly, he wasn't sure what he was expecting when he chose to come and visit her in the most unconventional way possible. Of course there were probably much more unconventional ways than flying in through the window on a broom but it's pretty unconventional as far as visiting a hospital patient goes. In any case, the only reason he really even came around was simply the fact that he was worried about her, probably the same sentiment being shared by Yuzuki as well. Any intent to ask for any kind of story behind her admittance to the hospital did not at all occur to him, until that is, a name was mentioned. "Wh- Seth?! Wait, he didn't mention that, what did he do?!"

...Oh, so Seth told him about Sophia?

Heleth was surprised by the warm and friendly smile Sophia gave her. It probably was the first time ever the valkyrie acted like that. It was odd. Very, very odd.

The arrival of the black haired woman with flowers brought a frown on Heleth's face, for two reasons. She ignored everyone inside the room except Sophia (it was reasonable, the injured person was Sophia, but come on, a greeting is mandatory, isn't it? Uneducated humans!), and she brought flowers with her.

Flowers!

Humans had their own personal way of killing things for petty reasons without care. Killing flowers to expose them in a pot of an ill person was something Heleth considered questionable. Yes, sure, maybe their dead shell could bring some sort of comfort to an ill person with their fading beauty, but it still was a decaying corpse. Or at the very least a slowly dying being that will decay soon.
What an horrible present. What a pitiful destiny the one of flowers. Not even worth to start a discussion about their death.
As such, Heleth simply sighed, moving her eyes away from the plants, only to catch a glimpse of a guy gasping at the door and running away in panic.

Woah, that was a little above the usual reaction she expected from random humans. Was her frown so scary?

At any rate, the red demon girl fell silent as sophia was reading the letters brought to her. Sophia's behaviour was...well...completely different!
As a plane planted itself in Izumi's temple, falling on Sophia's lap, the demon was brought back to reality and her dual layered eyes moved toward the door as the injured valkyrie invited that same scared and meek looking boy that ran away earlier inside. And she also said they were very good people!

She reserved him a silent observation before moving her eyes back on Sophia. Why did she change so much?
The girl didn't let out a word as, from her bed, Sophia gave out lots of details tha confirmed her vague doubts, and gave her new questions.
So, she was stabbed. And she lost all her divine powers. That could become a real problem given her involvement in the Netherworld's business. A normal human would simply be killed easily. Curses!
The last person she met was Seth. Seth.
Heleth remembered the boy's gaze as she reported the Vice President's behaviour to him.
The green haired demon wondered if Sophia's condition wasn't indirectly her fault: as her lips moved and new words came out, Heleth was trying to put all those pieces together.
Sophia asked Seth help for her problem. Seth had to live with something inside him. He asked her something...
So Sophia did have someone controlling her! A possession of sorts, or maybe an other personality? That did explaing her somewhat erratic behaviour in the school's backyard! It wasn't Sophia in the first place!
Also...Seth had to live with something inside him? No, that question was less important for the moment.
After she met Seth, she found herself hospitalized. So, what did she ask him that he didn't want to speak of? And what did he do? Heleth now definitely had to look for Seth. The picture was clearer, but not enough.

"I think lying in there is just a waste of time" she said, with her usual grin painted on. Her hair abandoned the honeycomb style they had for the second time, falling long behind her back.
"If you want I can heal your wound and you'll be home by dinner." she stated like it was obvious and simple.
She closed her eyes, her wide smile waiting for an answer.

Yuzuki was silent for the time being. Listening to Sophie's story, she focused for a while, trying to think of what to do while she paid attention to those others who had come.

Given what she'd had Ian pull off some time previously, which was how she'd confirmed there was a problem, it was very surprising that one of Sophie's friends had such an appearance. Not that she had any problems with it, quite the opposite, she was happy to see that, but it was unexpected. Heleth was offered a friendly smile.

And...oh, that boy climbing in through the window, she recognized him. That was Izumi. She'd only met him twice, she thought? Once at the zoo, once during the rather unfortunate cooking situation with Mina. The former was a somewhat distant memory, the latter stuck out in her mind as something she regretted. Yuzuki was worried about how Mina felt, although the origin of the "Princess" nickname that had spread since was also hard to forget. Smiling again, Izumi was given a fond nod of her head in recognition.

Ethan, it seemed, was a nervous sort. She'd try to help with that later if she could.

As for Sophie's words regarding healing, and Heleth's attempt at intervening, it got Yuzuki thinking. Sophie'd shown alarming signs previously, and had outright lost control of herself in the school. Izumi and Sophie both focused on Seth for a bit, and Seth wasn't unknown by any means, though Yuzuki hadn't had time to really acquaint herself with him before.

She looked Sophie in the eye with an uncertain, cautious glance. She knew, somewhat, about the valkyrie situation, Dr. Alexander had done his best to explain at the time, but it was Sophie's decision whether or not to tell anyone else about that. Of course, Yuzuki was strongly considering telling them what she knew, but she hesitated for now on the assumption that Sophie had a reason for not informing them before. She'd tried hiding it from her and Eva, after all, so she figured that Sophie hadn't told others either.

Not something she thought was a good idea, mind. She very much disliked going against Sophie's implicit wishes, but if Sophie wasn't going to speak up about it, she very likely would.

Ethan was not really relieved when Sophia said that the strangers were her friends and that he should come in. In fact, he felt it made things far more awkward. The awkward feeling quickly multiplied the moment he stepped into the room. However, he had to ignore that, there were more pressing matters than his social fears.

After listening to what Sophia had said, the boy felt slightly at ease. After all, from the sounds of it, the thing that was in her head seemed to be gone, with the disappearance of her Valkyrie based powers and such. However, just because something "seems" to be gone, doesn't mean it's actually gone. Either way, Ethan definitely wanted to know more. He quickly grabbed his notebook and wrote a question he felt would get the most answers.

[Your problem?]

“If you could heal me that would be greatly appreciated Heleth.” Sophia nodded and smiled at the red demon’s offer. “I’ve wasted too much time lying here doing nothing already.” Honestly she had only been here for three days, but it was more than long enough for her to become restless. She had lots of stuff she wanted to do, and finding Seth and asking him just what happened that night is at the top of her list.

“Seth came to my room in the middle of the night that day and said he wanted to talk to me. It turns out he had been worried about my behaviour as well and tried to talk sense into me.”He had also told her about how happy Izumi was after their date, but it was something that was personal on a whole other level so she chose not to bring that up. “I told him that there were times that I wasn’t myself, and that I suspected that there was something inside me…” She glanced at Yuzuki, her adoptive mother should know what she was talking about seeing how she was one of the first to find out about it. “After that he asked me something, I can’t remember what, and then…”

“He stabbed you.”

A cold unforgiving voice came from the door, and yet it was one that was very familiar to Sophia. “S…Selene? What are you talking about? Seth wouldn’t…” The sight of her co-worker at Café Mahou came at a big surprise, but her words was even more shocking.

“He stabbed you.” Selene repeated herself as she walked into the room. “He thought he could deal with the Valkyrie dwelling within you by stabbing you with some magic sword so he asked you to cast Valkyrie Evigilantem. Luckily I was able to suppress the Valkyrie using the Rune of Sealing before things got out of hand.”

Sophia looked down at the pendant around her neck and held it up. “That would explain why my powers aren’t working…” Her voice trailed off for a moment. “W…wait… How do you know all this Selene? I never told you about my powers or anything…”

“Mistress Þrúðr sent me to watch over you.”

“Mistress Þrúðr? But why would the head of my Order…”

Our Order Sophia. I know you have a lot of questions, but there’s no time for it right now.” Selene sighed in exasperation as she pointed at Sophia’s pendant. “The Rune is only a temporary measure to keep your possession in check so it won’t last long. Mistress Þrúðr ordered me to take you back to headquarters in Iceland so we can treat it properly. An airship is already on its way here, it should arrive within the week.”

"...He WHAT?!"

You can bank that any details that are being talked about would just fly off over his head, not even thinking of questioning who the new girl he doesn't even recognize is bringing them that news, or even giving much thought about Sophia's predicament, or the news that she's going to have to go to Ireland for some kind of special treatment for her predicament.

...Okay maybe that last part he's giving it a little bit of a thought, I mean literally from out of nowhere she just came out and said they're taking her away from here for something that they never even got to figure out about in the first place? "Hold on a bit, you can't just go and take her away like that!" The Ordinary Magician actually chose to speak up, marching up to stand between the doorway where the new girl just arrived and Sophia on the bed. "She has school to attend and homework to do! Not to mention she's actually in the hospital right now and you're coming here saying all that... you guys are against this too, right?" He added, turning to the others for support considering they are the Valkyrie's friends as well, surely they would also object to her going away now?

Besides, as he is going to add immediately afterwards, "And I'm pretty sure she wants to have a word with Seth about what he did too!" Izumi yelped out angrily, stomping his foot on the floor like a kid throwing a tantrum which will be the only time he would be able to muster any courage talking about Seth Ryouga in such a manner, since he's not actually here. "That stupid guy, what is he thinking?!"

Sophia's approval was all she needed.
Without really waiting, Heleth approached and a strand of her hair moved to envelop the the injured girl's chest.
"It may take a little while, but don't complain" she said "It will perfectly fix you, no scars at all!"

When her hair completely covered the injury hidden under her bandages, all the parts in contact with Sophia's body would detach from the rest of the demon's hair, slowly fusing into Sophia and becoming an integral part of her. In a few hours the powerless valkyrie's body was going to be as good as new.

This happened as Sophia began her explainations, and another girl entered into the room. Heleth turned with her eyes wide opened when her words confirmed her suspects: Seth risked and almost killed her to exorcize whoever was controlling her.
All pieces of what happened now were fit together.

Seth! That was far from being a smart plan by his part, it was simply a drastic attempt with limited knowledge if it could work or not. And it didn't work! She'll slap him repeatedly for that!

Aside from that, the following revelations made Heleth's eyes move to the pendant Sophia was wearing, and back toward the girl named Selene.
A valkyrie is already something, but two in the same place are pretty much an army! Heleth's stance lowered a little, barely enough to be noticed.
She knew Sophia, and she didn't like demons much. It was already very strange she accepted her heals for the first time ever, but she was technically using demonic powers to heal someone in front of an healthy valkyrie.
Her action could easily piss off any 'holy' being with narrow perspective. And God knows how many of those are roaming the world! The closest one was sealed into Sophia by the rune on that pendant, for example!

Should Selene disapprove that, Heleth just fell into something she could hardly handle. She wasn't Astaroth, she could not hope to survive a fight against a pissed off valkyrie.

Selene didn't seem to care though. Apparently there were other priorities, such as the removal of the valkyrie possessing Sophia's body.
Heleth suddenly frowned.

As Izumi began rambling on and complaining, Heleth's brain realized that something didn't sound quite right.
Selene didn't mention anything about the removal of that unwanted guest. She said 'treat it properly'.
Such wording rang into her head like an alarm bell.
"Sophia won't go anywhere without me. Like it or not, I'll be coming with her"
Behind her closed lips, Heleth gritted her teeth to control a shiver.

Curses! Did she really said she wanted to walk into a place filled with valkyries!?

"As a member of the student council it's my responsibility to be sure our vice president recovers properly!"
Nice attempt to mask your worry Heleth. Too bad nobody believed you.

"OH GOD KILL IT WITH FIRE!" "That reaction is how I KNOW I did a good job!"
One of those times where each new bit of information seemed to make the situation more severe. Yuzuki, already deeply troubled, considered all of this in continued silence.

Alright, the worry she'd had previously regarding the inner Valkyrie was justified, though she was going to be chewing herself out for quite a while at not having been able to keep this procession of events going down this particular route. Although, it was questionable if she'd had been able to do anything period, even with that knowledge. She was...rather doing a poor job of helping Sophie at all, and the way she'd opted to get the information may have sped up the development of the entire problem.

Yuzuki was reluctant to say anything, but decided that the situation was intense enough to merit just about any measure necessary. Showing her self-doubt and regret would only worry Sophie, that wouldn't help anybody. Solving the problem was all that mattered right now.

Izumi and Heleth were intent on assisting, that was good. She had to admit, perhaps she wasn't very directly involved in Sophie's affairs, despite everything she'd promised. She took care of Sophie, and assisted in day-to-day enjoyments, and prepared meals often, but actual involvement in friendships, activities, and life outside the dorm was minimal. Mistakes had been made, and she'd, to put it bluntly, neglected to do all that she could and should have. Sophie wouldn't think so, and telling her that would just add to the current mess.

However, one thing Selene said broke her introspection and finally got her to speak up again. Her tone was quite different from her usual comforting, gentle voice, and she actually spoke at conventional volume rather than softly and quietly. Only Sophie would likely recognize this change, possibly Izumi (though his attention was justifiably elsewhere), and her expression was slightly hardened.

"A temporary measure is all that is holding the inner valkyrie at bay. Those specialized in working with such beings are likely the best-suited to permanently removing the problem and preventing it from recurring. Sophie is going through a difficult time, to say the least. We, some of her closest companions, will hopefully be able to provide emotional support if nothing else, as we accompany her."

And, of course, it was almost universal for cases of possession to have emotions that could be preyed upon by the internal force. She had seen for herself that Sophie's anger towards her past had enabled the inner valkyrie to exert more influence on her.

This was a problem that she had failed to mitigate, was threatening her loved one, and could go out of control. Yuzuki's thoughts and feelings sharpened, tempering themselves into total focus. The problem at hand would be solved, that was all that currently mattered.

"Izumi, you address a valid point, that this will disrupt her school life. In a way, Sophie is sick. There is, fundamentally, something wrong with her well-being. Experts in the matter will oversee treatment and curing her. Sophie, if you think anyone can be of assistance to you, make this easier on you, or contribute in any way to your wellness, I will contact them for you. Likewise, I will see to it that the school makes an accommodation for you and those helping, as this qualifies as an exceptional situation. You are unwell, people who can help are going to make it better, and this will be resolved as efficiently and effectively as possible. A week before departure will enable local affairs to be settled, and your friends and loved ones will hopefully be able to soothe you however feasible or needed."

A plan of action formed. Manage the school side, contact anyone who could help, prepare for the travel and treatment, comfort Sophie however able, and ask Eva to search for information that could be of help and coordinate necessary communication. She also would seek out anyone locally who had experience or knowledge of these subjects. The time for serious action and involvement had come.

Things were moving a bit too quickly for Ethan to really comprehend. Sophia was stabbed, the Valkyrie being sealed temporarily, a stranger appearing out of nowhere telling her to go with them, and now he had a strange need to eat bread. While the last event was irrelevant, the fact was that there was a lot to process and not enough time to do that.

'What to do? What to do? Need to help. Who is this person? Is Sophia alright? What to do? What to do? I should get out of the way. I can't do anything like this. I can't do anything like this. I'll get in the way. I need to help but I--'

The boy quickly smacked his forehead with his palm.

'No time for indecision! I need to think! In order to think I need information! In order to get information we need to ask questions! And I can't do that with some stranger throwing a tantrum.'

Ethan reached into his bag and pulled out an air horn. The reason why he had an air horn involved a complex story regarding wolves and bears and cyborg bats, but that was irrelevant. What was relevant was that Ethan aimed the air horn at the self proclaimed "Ordinary Magician" and pushed down on the top, letting a loud and irritating sound spread through the room.

"Excuse me, Miss Selene. While I appreciate you offering to do that for our friend, would you mind telling us everything? Mainly, what you will be planning to do? How long will it take? And what will be the results? I believe we would all appreciate that information."
