...Tokyo, big place. Many saw it as a city, in reality it had outgrown such a concept. Many saw it as a symbol of Japan's prosperity, proof that it was a modern nation, a leading economy, and a world powerhouse. There was a man standing atop the famed Tokyo Skytree, a white dot that watched from the heavens above like a star in the sky, who saw it differently. After all, he had once been a scientist. A pioneer of a relatively new field, without praise or damnation for the masses, because those in power believed he couldn't be called upon to make the right 'choice'. His work here today wouldn't necessarily affect the pigs who ran Brasilia, perhaps the whole affair wouldn't even draw their concern, aside of a glance in tomorrow's front pages. But if he did this, he pulled it off... Then there would be real choice in the world. And he couldn't imagine the choices of the people would let them off kindly. But first, he was a scientist. And it was time to test his greatest experiment - Tokyo. He pressed the play button. As the plucks of an electric guitar began to fill the air around Tokyo, kept to the rhythm of a regular drumbeat, the figure, one Abilio Ferro, decked out in a strange white, black, and green armour, raised a microphone to his mouth. "Like the legend of the phoenix... All ends with beginnings... What keeps the planet spinning... The force of love beginning!" Bright lights began to shine forth from within the depths of the metropolitan area, some visible even in the bustling streets, others drowned out by the bright glow of skyscrapers and mass consumerism. "Weeee've come too far! To give up, who we are! So leeeet's raise the bar, and our cups, to the stars!" The lights began to grow in shine, pillars ascending from them into the heavens above. The Tokyo Skytree lit up as the greatest of these pillars rose from it, giving Abe his ultimate backdrop. "She's up all night 'til the sun." Because why the hell shouldn't he be able to enjoy at least some of this? "I'm up all night to get some." After all, millions were about to have their fun without any relent or remorse, he imagined. "She's up all night for good fun." Others might abuse it, sure, and some would simply not handle the experience - but if his hopes were true, that would be a vocal minority at worst. "I'm up all night to get lucky." And if he was wrong... then this really would become Chaos. In which case, he won anyway. And so the pillars of light hit their peak, erupting in splashes of light. The waves of energy crackled and spread across the sky, and the stars began to disappear like a curtain was drawn across them. The ripples of energy began to meet, coalescing into a singular sheet. They fell and settled, like a dome, cupped over the single largest largest concentration of human life on the planet. And thus Tokyo, did disappear from the eyes of the world. Even hours later, after the sun had risen, the world would be somewhat unsure of just what in the world was going on. The media speculated on who it might have been - the usual suspects arose, from terrorists to mad scientists, or evil organisations banished decades ago. Contact had proven difficult to outright impossible to make, with any signals that did somehow get through proving horribly weak and mangled in their message quality, if the messages themselves didn't seem quite insane. From relatives and friends trapped within, there were tales of reappearing loved ones, monsters all about, blissful utopias and horrors spoken of in only the darkest corners. Nothing fit together, nothing made sense. Self defense forces had setup checkpoints and barriers along every major route and passage into the region they could find, from railroads to highways, and soon enough even enforcing a strict control over the airspace. But they couldn't stop everyone from getting in and getting close, and media outlets everywhere soon had amateur footage taken by people near the dome. Some were cautious and kept dozens, or even hundreds, of metres away, whilst some brave souls ventured towards the large blue shape. These people had proven that the dome could be entered, but any footage that managed to be taken from within proved short and even more confusing. Pretty everything that had been said... was true, in parts. But now one could throw in comic book superheroes fighting alongside or against the greatest armies of fiction, whilst being overshadowed by technology of the future being manned by mankind's most primitive ancestors. People either turned and ran on seeing such things, and went no further, or delved too deeply or haven't been seen from since. So needless to say, its kinda crazy in there right now. As such, whilst its a little unorthodox, the Japanese Self Defense Force had come to Hyakuji, and formally asked the school, its staff and students for help. Anyone able and willing to go into what could be considered a potentially sanity threatening scenario, was to be taken to Tokyo to try and put an end to whatever had encased the area and the people within. JSDF forces had already gone in with little reply, so finding them was a concern, but ultimately, not a priority. If the matter could not be resolved, though the time frame was uncertain, considerations were being made to blind fire into the area, in the hope to knock out the source of the disturbance, but civilian casualties risked running high in such a scenario. The only intel going in thus far, aside of what was already on the news, came from security footage briefly transmitted outside for assessment by intelligence agencies. A man, and two women, were caught loading up strange devices onto a truck, before that same truck was spotted multiple times over the night before last. Finding any of them could be key to the operation, little detailed as it was beyond 'make this stop'. And so, whoever answered the call, was quickly taken across the country. Arriving at an airbase, they would board a Kawasaki C-1, a military transport aircraft, to take flight to Tokyo... And be given a beginner's course in parachuting along the way. No points for guessing where this would be going. For those not so brave, or initially reluctant but then changing their mind, or perhaps even outright impatient and not being around for the whole 'we need your help' spiel, getting there on one's own terms would have some difficulty, but not be impossible. To say nothing of those potentially there the very last night, through all the madness... So, where are you, and what role shall you play? |

Turning misery into meaningfulness!
|
Shirena walked towards the giant, blue dome that he had heard about on the news this morning. Of course, the confused and bewildered the young pyromancer, and, for some odd reason...he was rather drawn to such a confusing and...curious site. Admittedly, he could've sword this was in a movie that he had seen when he was younger, but quickly realized that the reminder was pointless. All he knew was that...well, damn, that looks ominous. He quickly ventured towards it via walking and bus (but mostly walking.)! Of course, the journey was quite a long, boring one, with Shirena keeping his headphones on, blasting music, occasionally turning it down when, on the way, he noticed other people, rumors flying about. From lost loves and crushes confessing, to zombies roaming the streets of Tokyo, they were quite wide spread, and very odd, though this only drove him to further curiosity. Finally, he had arrived to his destination as the sun rose, and it seemed as though all was very much not well in the dome. He poked it, and looked somewhat surprised when it rippled to the mere touch. "Huh." He whispered, before looking around, finding few people around at the time. "No zombies, no lost loves here....no crushes." He said, before briefly thinking about a certain demon, before shaking the thought way. This required his full attention. "Nonono. I gotta focus..." He said, before sighing, and putting his hand into the dome, and walking through, his curiosity taking control of his common sense. Yes. This DOES look like a good idea, walking into a possibly zombie infested/love filled dome of possible doom that he knows nothing about. This is the best idea ever. Like trying to tear down the sky. Look at his little dance
|
Spike had been riding for hours. He was going to see his uncle. Doing some work for him for the weekend would get him enough money for later. He wasn't the sort who did a lot of work or the sort that spent a lot of money. He was getting engaged in too many of these things. It was for this simple reason that Spike was in Tokyo. When the pillars of light started to appear he diverted from his original course immediately, heading straight for the Skytree. This was the sort of thing that Spike usually encountered at that school so he should go try to take down whoever was pulling this sort of trick. This was the when the massive blue sphere gulped up the city, and Spike with it.

It was her first time in Tokyo; Shibuya to be exact, and she was here to shop. One would figure this'd be one of many return trips for the young girl but she didn't come to Japan to shop in the first place, academics coming first for her. Artemis was shopping within Shibuya 109, hoping to find some specialty clothes and accessories for her and her loved one. "The place is quite big!" Artemis said to herself, looking at all the stores from a map within the building, "I'm definitely gonna have to bring Dakota along with me." The reason why Artemis didn't invite Dakota was because she wanted to buy some gifts for her without knowing, otherwise Dakota would probably decline and wish to pay herself since Artemis has been paying for a lot of stuff. Nonetheless, Artemis continued her excursion through the building, window shopping to find the right store for her. After several minutes, she entered a store that Dakota might like some things from. As she entered, a song came on that she recognized, making her smile as she listened along. "I hadn't heard a lot of music from outside of Japan in a quite a while, it's nice to hear it," Artemis thought to herself, browsing the items. As she continued, she had noticed that a lot of the items she was looking on had huge discounts, making her smile even more. She then began to wonder why they were so cheap, assuming there might be defects or something else wrong with them. Picking an item up, it began to disintegrate within her hand and drip off onto the floor. She was quite confused, grabbing another of the same item and seeing that it did the same. Artemis looked around to see if anyone else saw it, seeing that no one was around; the cashier was no where to be seen. "Uh, okay..." Artemis said aloud. She decided to leave the store, moving onto another store and finding another good choice. She stepped and saw that it had mannequins to display the outfits. "Heh, they kind of look like Dakota," Artemis said to herself, giggling a bit at the similarities. After a bit of browsing, she decided to check her phone to see if she received any messages, unable to hear them due to the amount of people in the building altogether. After pulling it out, she attempted to access her phone but noticed that it was dead, causing her to sigh. "I need a new battery, I just got done charging it," Artemis thought to herself, holding the power button to see if it was simply off. To no avail, it would not turn on. "Ugh, what a pain." |

Continuing from here... Regardless of god knows what's going on within Tokyo, there has to be at least one empty unused building standing around. He really only needed one, because- CRASH!!! "Gah!!" All of a sudden a random front entrance of one random building within Tokyo crashed open, and out came tumbling Kirisame Izumi the Ordinary Magician to the street of Tokyo. Followed by whoever else have decided to come with him to his dorm room, if there are any. "Ugh... no, wait-!" As he turned back to look at the door that had previously connected from this door in Tokyo with the door of his dormitory Room 414 back in Hyakuji... He could no longer see his room through the entrance, but just the dank, empty and worn down interior that is truly owned by the building itself. "Damn... the barrier completely cut off the enchantment..." He means it had been a one-way trip to Tokyo. There's no going back until they get rid of this dome barrier surrounding the whole freaking Tokyo. ...Honestly this is a very terrifying sight... Thought Izumi as he glanced up at the sky, seeing it covered entirely by an energy field of a sort. Goddammit, why did he even agree to this...? No. Nonono, he chose to do this, he can't back down now... The Ordinary Magician tried his best to recompose himself as he slapped himself in the face, doing his best to muster as much courage as his little heart could gather. He can't let this go on, he's not a coward... don't put him in the same level as her...! ...The hell is going on here anyway...? |

The Ordinary Magician would feel someone pulling him up by the collar and setting him on his feet, followed by a familiar voice “Hang in there Izumi, the show’s just begun.” A grim faced Sophia stepped up next to the mage and surveyed the scene. Guess what Shun said about a massive dome appearing over Tokyo wasn’t an exaggeration, but that’s pretty much the only thing they knew. The rumours they had heard en-route didn’t help clear things up either. What with all the conflicting reports of dreams come true and monsters roaming the city, it was hard to tell whether Tokyo had become heaven or hell. Sophia thought that they would know more once they got to the metropolis, but she might as well be looking at an empty book right now. “Let’s get a move on, I don’t want to get caught in the open in case something shows up.” The Valkyrie double checked her armour that she had picked up on the way to Izumi’s dorm room and readied her spear. “I say we try to find some high ground first. There’s too much we don’t know and a good vantage point should help.” ---------------------Elsewhere…--------------------- Having heard the JSDF’s request for aid due to a mysterious incident in Tokyo, Eva immediately heeded the call. Her reasons? Unimportant. The disappearance of a huge city was enough to cause worry, so there’s really little need to question a willing volunteer, even if that volunteer is a military gynoid. Upon reaching the airbase Eva promptly requested a decent stock of weaponry, if she was going into battle there was no way she would go in unarmed. Given the current situation, no one really questioned her and the gynoid picked out one Howa Type 89 assault rifle, two SIG P220 semi-automatic pistols, and four fragmentation grenades. In addition to the ammunition for said weapons, she also picked up a handful of shells compatible with the light tank gun in her VENATOR armour, all stored in her EXORNO satellite. During the plane ride to Tokyo she remained silent, silently assessing the situation. A barrier surrounding the city, unknown number of targets inside, and conflicting reports. Hardly ideal situations, but Eva wasn’t designed to be a vanguard for no reason. Information was vital, so she patched herself into the JSDF’s radio before her jump. The gynoid didn’t even bother with the parachute seeing how it probably wouldn’t be able to hold her considerable mass anyways, so instead she had equipped VENATOR for extra protection. “Commencing airdrop. Landing in 30…20…10… Impact.” WHAM!!! Eva slammed full force into the ground, leaving a small crater beneath her. “Drop complete. Securing LZ.” As soon as she was able, she began scanning the surrounding area for any sign of life. Her entrance wasn’t exactly covert, so it was likely that she attracted some attention, hostile or otherwise. Just what were they up against…? Hopefully the answer will come soon. "The same path as Xiang Yu," a third voice added itself to the chorus as a wayward eye glanced back from the doorway that had brought them here. It would seem Shisi had decided to follow Izumi to Tokyo, capital of Japan. After all, this city was the heart of this state, and seeing that the kyonshi was currently residing here, it befit that he lend his sword in times of chaos. And if what they were told was anything to go by, this was definitively a chaotic time. "Blindly forward," Shisi finished his prior statement after a pause. Glancing skywards, the kyonshi could see that a giant dome encased the entirety of the city, as far as the eye could see. However, that was all the young man could deduce, he knew nothing else upon the subject. Just that there were trapped in hostile territory, until they completed their objective, or someone else did. Nodding towards Sophia, Shisi walked further down the street, glancing swiftly down either side path. "This one recommends we head there," Shisi notified the rest of the group, pointing a pale finger towards the heart and metropolitan center of the city. "Whatever we seek, it most likely lies there." The undead's logic was simple; not only were all the taller buildings there, but any occupation, fortress, castle, base, that was circular in area, held its most critical infrastructure in the densest and most fortified spot. Like a ripple upon the surface of a pond, influence radiates outward from a single point. The center. And this dome should be no different. Meanwhile, eight hundred feet above the ground, a certain Alchemist was feeling certain swell of emotion. This emotion was regret. His hand clutched upon the steel walls of the aircraft, his eyes scanned horizon below him, and the regret surged throughout hiss abdomen like a raging storm, along with whatever he had for breakfast that morn. Who knew military aircraft could be so different from commercial liners? Trying his best to beat the urge of airsickness upon him, Xie grazed his eyes about the barrier before him. Well, one thing was for certain, the thing was not made from magecraft; at least any that the Alchemist had seen before. And that accounts for a lot. Xie's heart was racing. Unlike msot of the others, the Alchemist was here upon one very human emotion only. And that was curiosity. Inclosing an area as large as Tokyo is no small feet, and he couldn't help but feel a small pounce of admiration for the individual(s) that had done so. Thus, he had made it a point to come see it for himself. And that's how the Alchemist was where he was now. Free fall with nothing more than the clothes on his back and the bundled up parachute that would stop him from becoming a human pancake. Well, he did worst for the sake of satiating his curiosity. A bunny space war being one such things. Reaching into his memory of the five minute crash course o parachuting, Xie pulled the lever, deploying the air-catching canvas behind him. Everything seemed to be in order, as after the sudden jolt, the boy could feel his descent slowed to a gradual speed. Phasing through the dome, a relief hit Xie as he wasn't torn to atoms in a bloody manner. Well that was one obstacle done. Now, all that was left was to reach the ground in one piece. Easier said than done, as unlike the dramatic landing of a certain gynoid some distance away, Xie collapsed into a roll of light weight fiber and heavy duty cable, courtesy of tge parachute. Shouts and curses emanated from the folds as the alchemist attempted to free himself, like a cat that had trapped itself in cradles of yarn. |

Yogen sat rigid in his seat as the aircraft bumped and jerked about high above the ground, chewing on a cigarette that he couldn't light. Apparently pressurized oxygen and open flames could be dangerous, so instead he clamped it between his teeth, nearly biting the cigarette in two. He'd heard the call for students to go and help with what was happening in Tokyo. He'd imagined charging with a group of others into a city in chaos, testing his fists against the best of whatever baddies might be causing the mayhem. Instead, he'd been hurried through a parachuting course and when he'd passed, had been hurried onto a military airplane and told that they'd be given orders as to when to jump. He'd never really flown much in his life and didn't like it. Steel was heavy and strong, meant to be shaped into weapons or art; not meant to carry humans through the air. To take his mind off of the horrifying scenarios playing through his head, he decided to focus on the harmonics of the metal around him that he could detect. Something familiar and comforting. The airplane itself had the high frequency of aluminum of some form. Made sense; high density, low weight. People carried knives, guns, and other weapons that gave off their own unique signatures, but by far the most interesting was the "girl" sitting next to him (Eva). Though she looked human, he could feel the resonation of some unidentifiable metal throughout her whole body. Complex mechanisms changed the pitches and resonances slightly, but they were…alive in their own way. Before he could say anything though, the order came and the students leapt out of the aircraft. The second he hit the air, the rush of the wind carried his shout of terror, excitement, and battle cry away into the air with his cigarette. He pulled the handle on his parachute, and handled it as they descended into the dome. He felt something as they passed through, some energy that he couldn't even begin to identify. He decided to stay as close as he could to the human robot. He was confident in his own ability, but there was strength in numbers. When he hit the street, he tucked and rolled away from the parachute, rolling to all fours, immediately on guard. He'd strapped his gauntlets to his back and quickly put them on as he got to his feet and crossed to where the Gynoid stood at attention. He hoped she'd noticed him on the aircraft and wouldn't confuse him for a hostile. "What do you see?" he asked simply. "With all the information they gave us we're going in blind, which I'm not a huge fan of, and something tells me you have better senses than I do." His own senses were getting used to the cacophony of metal frequencies all around them. He stayed calm to parse them all out, find anything distinctive. Armor, weaponry, jewelry, or anything that might indicate other people. Cities were so full of metal that he had to focus at it, but soon he identified plenty in his immediate viscidity, some easily visible to the eye, others obscured. Most interesting was the manhole in the center of the street, solid cast iron, and very versatile when it came to handling any hostile situation. |

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
|
"Hmm, sure is a lot of noise today." Shad mumbled to himself, completely unaware of the JSDF forces nearby or the growing media attention going on as he slowly made his way over to the glowing dome of chaos magic crawling on his belly through a tall, grassy field nearby, his 6 foot pipe close in hand should he be caught. Of course, he had absolutely zero idea about what was going on around the perimeter ever since the taxi cab that he took 'died' a few miles away from the farthest checkpoint of the perimeter (basically, the cab driver realized Shad didn't have much to pay him with and said he ran out of fuel). So, with a bit of skillful hide-and-dash manuevering (awhile using grass and dirt on his robes for rural camoflauge), he sneaked past the JSDF guards and vehicles awhile they were off-capturing less anxious civilians trying to get inside the dome, using their numbers to lay low amongst the confusion mile by mile until he was right up close to the dome. Of course, one would think Shad would think such a energy field was a bit strange, but he didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary. For all he knew, Tokyo may have always had such a weird dome around it, and that was that. As to why he was taking such a long, seemingly perilous journey to Tokyo was the fact that a certain bookstore here had a full collection of Robert Craig books, the best kind of action-packed books that he enjoyed oh so very much. As far as he was concerned, nothing was going to get in the way of enjoying those books. Nothing. "Now then, time to get me some books." He smirked a toothy grin of sharp fangs, before going full-on through the dome without a ounce of fear. After all, in a way, he was about to feel very much at home on the other side in the land of chaos, doing what he does best. |

"This sure reminds me of the good old days of being in the GLADIUS Corps," Lavender remarked as she watched the other students of Hyakuji High jump out of the C-1 that the JSDF had specially arranged for them as transportation to Tokyo with regards to assisting in the current situation, whereby one of the world's largest and most populous metropolises simply vanished off the face of the map. Out of to a combination of civic duty and the call of nostalgia, the aeromancer found herself readily volunteering for this mission, double-checking her gear - dressed in a gray urban camouflage BDU, black combat boots and a load-bearing vest for the various supplies and ammunition she'd requested from the self-defense forces; similar to the gynoid Lavender had borrowed one of the Howa Type 89 assault rifles, although for her sidearm of choice the aeromancer instead opted for her usual 9mm H&K USP Compact. "Why did I even agree to this...?" Misora droned as she watched the others jump out of the plane, the nervous twiddling of the half-zombie's fingers betraying her perpetually deadpan facial expression. The copper-haired girl had no illusions whatsoever about being able to do anything helpful at all, but considering that her parents lived in Tokyo, she felt that she just had to get there personally to look for them, seeing how all forms of electronic communications aren't reaching the city. "I hope they're all right..." the half-zombie drawled as she inched ever so closer towards the edge. "Not having any second doubts now, are you?" Lavender asked as she stood next to Misora, resting an arm around the half-zombie's shoulder. "No... Lavender-sensei..." Misora replied, turning her head to look at the aeromancer in the eye before looking down at the city below. "It's just that I wonder... what could I possibly do even if I came along... my parents told me they survived a zombie outbreak once..." the half-zombie drew some reassurance in knowing that her folks were made of sterner stuff, and could probably take care of themselves better than she could take care of herself. "And to be honest... I didn't quite get the parachute lesson that soldier-san was going through..." "Well, why not just take this as a chance to catch up with your family then? No matter what, I'm sure they'd be pretty touched to see their daughter cares enough for them for her to overcome her own insecurities and fears to risk a visit!" Lavender commented with a grin as she donned a pair of gold-rimmed aviator shades that she'd specially brought along for the situation. "And as for not being able to figure out the parachute... I can help with that," the aeromancer continued with a chuckle as she wrapped her arms around Misora and lifted her off her feet, and before the half-zombie could process what was going on, Lavender would jump off the aircraft with Misora in her arms with her triumphant yell drowning out the half-zombie's moan, freefalling in a head-down position the two of them would quickly reach a terminal velocity in excess of 320 km/hr, comparable to a Peregrine Falcon diving down at a prey. "Oh ye of little faith," Lavender remarked teasingly as she changed position whilst skydiving, going from a nosedive to a belly-down position, causing their falling speed to slow down considerably, and once they were merely half a kilometer above the surface the aeromancer would call upon her mastery of the winds to create a powerful updraft, a vortex of ethereal violet swirls encircling the pair as their fall slowed even more, until they were slowly drifting towards the ground like a falling leaf. "Landing successful!" Lavender declared jubilantly as her feet touched down gently upon the tarmac, not far from where Eva landed, the winds dying down as Lavender relinquished her control and let go of Misora, although the half-zombie merely slumped onto her buttocks upon being released, clearly needing a while to get over being shaken up by the experience. "That was fun, never could quite grow bored with it!" "I wish I could say the same for myself..." Misora droned, with a hint of a sigh as she picked herself up from the ground, dusting off her skirt and smoothing out the rest of her clothing and hair as she did, before looking around to see which district of Tokyo they'd landed in. "I hope they're okay..." the half-zombie muttered again, wondering how her parents, and her old classmates in her previous school were all doing. Edited by Lawman, Mar 14 2014, 09:32 AM.

So... the students, one way or another, were in. Those who came from the air had a fairly dramatic entry, both for themselves and whoever might catch their descent. Thankfully, the wind had not proved too strong on today of all days, so even with one or two deciding not to make use of the parachutes provided, the group landed close enough together. And they landed into... a familiar, yet very, very different landscape, than what any of them might have known. These were undoubtedly the streets of a modern major metropolis, that much was certain for sure. But a lot of what was around them was... not exactly Japanese. Many of the signs were in English in fact, license plates for nearby cars - wrecked though some of them may have been - looked to fit a US standard. Some of the buildings might have even seemed familiar, to those who had ever frequented... Manhattan? A red and blue blur suddenly swept by overhead, turning a corner before most would have been able to react. From behind the group, leaning out a window, was a young woman, giggling and with a blush on her face as she waved goodbye to... someone, before she slammed the window shut. In another part, several samurai were teaching a class both young to the almost impossible old, on how to master the strokes of their blade and cut down their foes. Cowboys and gunslingers of all colours were shooting it out at one end of the street, using cars for cover, and appearing to do quite a bit of damage both to each other and the surrounding scenery. And cries of help came from alleyways, where one could make out the backs of large gangs about to make someone's day a living hell. Then a second later a UFO began to land. Except it was blocky, like giant pixels as opposed to round and saucer like, its movements a bit scattered as it descended. Unfortunately, its movement towards the ground was somewhat interrupted, when a random, low flying Zero plane, as if fresh from the factory, flew in from god knows where. The World War Two plane picked out its target and opened fire, machine guns tearing the sky asunder, until the pixelated alien craft finally exploded, disappearing in a flash of more white pixels. This in turn blinded the plane, which appeared to be on something of a direct crash course towards the street below. ...And Misora's parents were in the path of that thing?! In another part of Tokyo, from a simple apartment, had emerged a not so simple group of travelers. A mage, a valkyrie, a zombie straight out of chinese folklore, now stood in Japan's greatest urban center. Whilst they had emerged from an apartment building, all around them one could see what should have been massive retail stores and icons of capitalism. Shibuya, perhaps? What they could actually see however... well... Well, that looked like an Aztec temple semi-detached with an egyptian pyramid, with crowds marveling at the structures on both sides. Another building was in mid-air shuffling about, being rearranged like a rubik's cube. People were otherwise scattered about, interacting with video game characters of all varieties as if they were long time friends, and sometimes more... intimately, as it were. Indeed, some of what was going on in these streets were beyond the scope of permissible writing, much to the shock of many onlookers. Who in turn bore witness to some poor souls being subject to divine retributions for their acts, lightning, rain, fire and so forth, overlooked by figures of shinto beliefs, with the occasional accompaniment of some beings from more westerly origins. At least from where Izumi's group was though, they could peer into at least one store that had retained a seeming semblance of sanity... And within would be Artemis, whose experience was... somewhat less sane. The others would see the way in which she was flocked by what were none other than at least a dozen different Dakotas, distinguished by different choices of attire, for which they thanked the young student councilor for picking out. They squabbled and argued over which sets of clothes to actually buy however, whilst occasionally stopping to remind her - in unison - that her phone was dead and needed a recharge. Then, they got back to squabbling, both with Artemis, critiques mirroring her doubts, and with each other, arguing over what would be better for 'them' and how they might feel about the clothes chosen. And passing through the dome at surprisingly close points of its out-most perimeter, aside of the initial strange tingle, Shirena and Shad would find not that much entirely amiss... Sort of. See, a lot of it seemed rather idyllic, neighbours and coworkers on the pavement or in the street, chatting away about the wonderful weather, and plans for communal meetings that were now coming to fruition. There was an infinitely running train along the nearby railroad, and small patches of green land were filled with incredible creatures for kids to play with. Some were from distant lands, like the trodding elephants, whilst others were straight out of fiction, tossed against each other in battles by the commands of the children. It was all strange, certainly, but nothing outright bad... From here though, they got a good view of what the distant heart of Tokyo seemed like, its heights shrouded in astonishingly dark cloud. It seemed that whatever was there made the fact it was there quite known, but at the same time, difficult to really pick out. There was the occasional rumble, a shaking through the Earth. Then followed by another. These did not last long or were particularly terrible, but they were... frequent. Like the rhythm you would find in something... stepping along the ground. This draws the attention of the people nearby, and they quickly rush for their children. Telling them to hurry inside, and houses appear to lock themselves down entirely. Some dropped everything on feeling the ground shake, so quickly and without second guessing, that they've left keys to things such as motorbikes, cars, and even basic bike padlocks just... lying there. The area suddenly turns quite dreadful in its weather, clouds quickly forming and rain beginning to fall... though strange in that despite how it would look, the rain doesn't feel like its actually hitting either of the two students. ...Spike... Oh, Spike. Noble of him, of course, to decide that a threat to the city might mean much more than a visit to see his Uncle. Many would have turned a blind eye and expected the 'proper authorities' to deal with such a thing, but clearly not this young man. Even when the roads had shifted strangely, or all the other nonsense had gone on, the delinquent's singleminded determination had seen him through towards the heart of the area, towards the tall Skytree. There was just now... a bit of a problem. A bit of a big problem. Mind you, it hadn't really seemed to notice him yet, each step taking it further and further from Spike. Indeed, it didn't pay mind to anyone around, even as they fled from its visage and shadow both. Nor was it really mindful of the entire buildings it demolished in unknowing swings of its tail, the road that become increasingly cratered beneath its staggering weight, or the general chill its presence brought to the world around it. It was also in Spike's way. So what then, would he do? COULD he do? This was no mere monster that you would fight on the streets with but a call into some electronic device and well honed martial arts. No, this - this was a monster against which almost all other monsters were measured. Titanic and triumphant against nearly everything that ever been sent against it, mankind thankful that it was never truly its enemy - merely that they were sometimes unfortunately in its way. It had been diverted, distracted, or otherwise pushed onto a more appropriate course, not outright beaten. In a way, the Japanese, and the world at large, had learned to cope, making movies and a media franchise out of it. Nevertheless, it was here, it was big, and it was in Spike's way. And either aware of the lack of full realisation about its presence, or simply wishing to quell any notion that its presence was not... well, present, it reared back its head, and unleashed a bloodcurdling cry that could be heard across the entire length and width of Tokyo. Declaring quite loudly that it was none other than the King of Monsters...! ![]() GODZILLA! |

Turning misery into meaningfulness!
|
Shirena looked around, surprised by the...weirdly calm children, playing with creatures, some of which he had only known in books and games, though that wasn't the weirdest part. Some of them were even leading the creatures into what seemed like battles, but THAT wasn't the weird part. The parents, not giving a damn about such things. No, thats not the weird part. The weird part is that he can feel the earth moving beneath him. Seeing the parents quickly move their children inside, dropping various things, toys, keys, phones, and god knows what else, Shirena looked towards where the sound was coming from, of the large steps being taken from the mere FEELING of the ground quaking beneath him. Clearly, this wasn't some normal enemy he was to deal with. No, this was something far beyond his past enemies, and something he needed to deal with! He quickly looked around for a way that won't draw attention to himself. The explosive entry wouldn't work too well for him, no he need something to get there fast, and not as lo- are those motorcycle keys? He quickly ran over, grabbing the keys, and pressing the alarm button. The alarm set off, and he clicked it again, turning it off. He made a cheerful grin, running over, and jumping onto the motorcycle. "Oh....my god..." "THIS IS SO DAMN COOL!" The shouted to the sky, happy with his findings, and popped in the key, turning the engine on, and revving it like no tomorrow. "SO COOL!" he shouted, to no one in particular, before kicking off the stand, and setting off, full speed! Essentially, this was one of the happiest moments of his life |

So to sum it up, what the hell is going on around here?! This is NOT what he had bargained for when he chose to come, and the fact that he was not actually briefed on what crazy happenings are within this dome around Tokyo and literally just came in blind, well. Let's just say he wasn't prepared for this at all. "What's... going on...? Sophie, what's going on? I-I wanna go home, this is scary, why did I come here...?!" Poor Izumi with his weak heart, his earlier resolve to actually do something meaningful for once had been utterly destroyed, very nearly being driven to tears and clinging onto the Valkyrie like a lifeline. As if the buildings oddly misplaced in time and space wasn't enough, seeing random bystanders all around him being immolated by divine retributions for their 'indecent' acts... it's really not good for his spirit. And that's putting it lightly. And then there's Artemis and Dakota, both of whom he's quite unfamiliar with to really distinguish from the rest of the whatever. "NO- wait, nononono, we're not going there, are you mad?!" He obviously wasn't entirely enthused at the idea of going straight to the very heart of the city as Shisi had recommended it. If it is the nexus of all the mad things happening around them at this moment, then god knows what's just waiting for them further in. "I take it back, this is a really bad idea, let's go home now!" He desperately insisted at the two, at this point even starting to try and drag the Valkyrie away. Then came the bloodcurdling roar from the heart of the city. |

A nap, a dream, something only a hungry and ditzy girl could think of. It was the vision of an armadillo that formed a very strong friendship with a hedgehog and decided to solve crime together in an old western town. One was a sheriff and the other was a pretty awesome racer. Of course, none of this makes sense in this topic, but why should it? It's all a dream. And the one dreaming it all was Minami Hibiki, a few minutes away from being woken up by something no one could imagine. A few days before, Hibiki had gone on a trip to Tokyo with her father. He had a free slot so he decided to bring the girl along on some city fun, of course, permitted by the school. The day before was filled with excitement and it left the girl rather sleepy. Once down, she started dreaming about all the weird adventures a Formula-1 Hedgehog and an Armadillo Sheriff could do together. But I digress. Her dream broke, shattering into a thousand pieces as an awful roar filled the air around her. She jumped up from her bed, wearing nothing but her pajamas, as her eyes gazed out the window. It seemed strange, rather eerie. Why was the building outside green.. rough.. moving.. oh, there's the other building. Oh, just another hallucination. And while she wanted to roll over and try to sleep again, her eyes focused and started gazing out the window, as her brain slowly woke the girl up. She stepped out of the bed and towards the window, deciding to open it and take a peek outside. A lizard. A giant angry lizard. A giant angry lizard that was standing next to Tokyo Sky Tower. A giant angry lizard that was not a statue, but in fact, a lizard. And it's real. And if she grabbed a long stick, she could probably poke it from her position. If the stick was like, really long. "It's real.. huh.. it's.. real.. real.. a lizard.. real.. uhm.." Connecting the dots, her eyes opened up wide as she let out a scream. "IT'S A REAL GIANT LIZARD — !!" After one comedic routine later, the girl grabbing a small snackbar from the desk next to her, Hibiki found herself storming out of her room and up the stairs of the building she was in, wearing nothing but her bright pajamas. She munched down on the snack, as the legs carried her frame up the stairs and to the roof of the building. She was actually sleeping in a rather tall building, a hotel her father checked the two of them into, so she had an advantage there. An advantage against fighting monster lizard. Words she never imagined thinking. Once up on the roof, her body transformed into the battle suit we all know and love, her scarf soaring back from the wind. From her position, she'd find the giant monster standing in front of the Tokyo Sky Tower, Hibiki being a little above it to it's left. From this position, she would be able to stare down at the beast and jump with no obstacles in her path. Now, most people would run and hide from such a creature, obviously possessing no powers or strength to combat it with. Then again, Hibiki is not like most people. Her first reaction and instinct was to cock her gauntlets back, pulling them as far back as they could go. Her legs moved herself forward and pushed the girl off the building, as she aimed to give the foul creature a double-punch on top of it's skull, her gauntlets snapping back and into the beast upon impact. Whether or not she'd hit it on the head was up for fate to decide, as she decided to play it safe. Kinda. Fun fact #1: Hibiki is scared of heights. Fun fact #2: Hibiki forgot about that. Fun fact #3: Hibiki just realized it as she started to fall. Fun fact #4: Hibiki might be screaming in panic while trying to punch it with two fists. "UWAAAAAAAAAAA — !!" Artemis looked at all the Dakotas that were around her, hearing them argue about what looked best and a couple wanting Artemis' opinion. "Uh, I uh..." Artemis said, unable to make sense of anything or to even know what to say. The two asking for Artemis' opinion got the attention of the rest, all of them asking at once. Artemis looked at each one, no single one having the same items on. "Th-They all look nice," Artemis said, hoping to please them all but it didn't turn out like she had hoped. They began arguing about which one was the best of them all. Artemis had to turn away, trying to block them out. As she turned around, she saw another Dakota that was smiling at her and reaching a hand out to her. Artemis smiled, taking her hand, Dakota pulling her in closely to her. The two were face to face, Dakota giving her a kiss directly on the lips that lasted for quite some time. A moment passed until the kiss ended, Artemis giggling a bit. Artemis began hearing voices around her, looking around and seeing people looking in disgust and giving them nasty looks. Dakota came in for another kiss, Artemis not wanting to kiss again since she was receiving so much negativity from it. "N-Not right now Dakota," Artemis said, trying to dodge the kiss, "I don't think this is the place for it." Dakota continued, pushing her down to the ground and rested her knees on her arms, Dakota giving the kiss regardless. Artemis was helpless to Dakota, unable to do anything, even using her psychokinesis wasn't working properly. The voices continued to get louder, the sounds they were making were filled with disgust and disappointment. "Artemis Anova, I thought we raised you better," a familiar voice said, Artemis trying to look towards the crowd to find that person. "My dear child, what has this place done to you." Artemis got a good look at them; they were her parents. It would seem they made it in town, possibly to meet their daughter who had left home a little over a year ago. |
