ZEHAHAHA!!
"Did somebody say sooooul~?"

Out of nowhere, Cariot popped up. The pink blob was visible and audible to everybody except Shad, which spoke volumes about the mental states of Culsu and Jen. Kell grit her teeth and started throttling the girl, shaking and crying while shouting something in an incomprehensible voice.

The lazy girl patted Kell's head with her sleeves, whispering quietly to her for a second and calming her down. When the wrestler had finally settled into a more sullen mood, the blob put one sleeve to her head as if she was saluting the others.

"Heeeey, I can go find the soul thing for you. Just give me some time and Buddha's light will shine, shine, shine through all lies~!"

Of course, Kell would have to stop holding onto her first. It was hard to search while she was being hugged so tight.

Culsu turned curiously toward the figure that appeared out of nowhere.
The green haired demon had her mouth half open like she was about to say something, but the pink figure caught her attention.
She even let out an "Awww" when Cariot took care of Kell.
She made a puzzled face at the comment about Buddha's light before turning back to shad and give what was her response:

"True are only the thoughts that don't understand themselves" Culsu chirped happily "That makes Culsu true!"
With a giggle the demon made a slight hop and began floating upward.
"Culsu meant Paimon isn't dead. Culsu is supposed to know it, so Culsu knows it!"
The demon twirled in midair, her arms wide open. She certainly was ejoying her nonsense.
"Culsu thinks toothy Shad was clever, but a live Paimon ruins his plan. This is bad. This is bad. Bad bad bad. No Paimon."

Now sitting upside down on the chandelier above, the Demon of the Gates looked ponderous.
"Which brings Culsu to the newcomer. Does she knows something Culsu doesn't? She certainly does. Will it be related to Paimon? Probably not! Is it worth for Culsu to ask anyway? Maybe it's better for Culsu to do it anyway."

Was it really necessary to loudly expose her thoughts?

After another teleportation, Culsu was now beside Kell and Lucid.
"So, where were you when Paimon disappeared?"

"Umm...what are you looking at?" Shad asked, not sure why Culsu was all ga-ga all of a sudden on Kell of all people. He sighed, rubbing his head in mock frustration, "Fine, fine, whatever. Paimon isn't dead according to you, and that Mazikin didn't kill him, despite all this carnage and blood. Understand I am a Size Mage, not a Ectomancer or a Demon Tracker, I just go with what I assess and survey the area to the fullest of practical investigation. He is either still down below with us somewhere, or fled the scene upstairs without his clothes on. Let's just keep searching the other rooms we haven't been to and see if he's hiding out in one of them."

"Cariot?" Jen wondered, surprised to see the girl that looked like a pink blob show up out of nowhere, much to the agitation of Kell who began throttling Cariot in a rather off-kilter state of mind. "Come on now, Kell, what did Cariot ever do to you?" Jen moved forward to try to separate the two, only to find that the wrestler had calmed down courtesy of the blob-like girl.

"Given our current situation, I'd likely try anything, no matter how crazy it sounds," Jen added as Cariot offered to help track down Paimon's soul, though given the way Kell was holding onto her it may prove difficult indeed. "So what do you think Kell?" Jen asked, hoping the wrestler would let go to allow Cariot to try her hand at the task.

ZEHAHAHA!!
"I don't know, but I will soon!" Cariot declared with a goofy grin, Kell finally letting go of her to sulk as Culsu asked her questions. "I was here, but now I'm here. Get it?"

The pink blob's answers were just as confusing as Culsu's questions. No small feat, indeed. She moved her overly long sleeves about, like she was trying to divine the location of Paimon through mystical means. Of course, she could do no such thing, but it seemed like she was just putting on a show.

"Hmmm... Hmmmmm...."

After a few more minutes, Cariot stopped.

"Nope, not here!"

Did she even actually try to do something?

As Kell prevented Cariot from giving Culsu a quick answer, the green haired demon turned to listen to Shad, giving him a flashy smile.
"Truth is just an elimination of errors! Culsu says nice try though!"
Culsu swirled once through the air and turned toward Jen, that asked Kell to let Cariot free to track Paimon. That promptly prompted Culsu to swirl and stop to stare at the pink girl curiously, before cheerily disappearing into the floor, now back on the chandelier.

"Culsu wasn't here nor there, but now she's here too. There is a place Culsu doesn't want to be. Culsu prefers to be somewhere else entirely. This means you weren't here!"

If there was some logic in there, it was well hidden. Especiallly to shad that probably had no clues about who Culsu was talking with.
Culsu seemed to hum something as Cariot waved her arms around, seemingly paying no attention, waving her legs back and forth from her unproper seat.

When Cariot conculded her ritual, dance, or whatever that was, Culsu seemed to take that word for granted.
"This means Paimon isn't here too."

"Culsu thinks Culsu is supposed to know what happened to Paimon. Culsu's mind feels dizzy!"
The demon leaned her head behind, and dived it inside a portal that opened close to Shad "Culsu is confused by elimination of errors, toothy Shad. Culsu should know. Culsu doesn't. Paimon isn't here. But he is bound to be in the last place someone will look for him!"

"You know, Miss Culsu..." Shad turned calmly to face her, his expression grim as the reaper, as he spoke his words quietly enough for only her to hear, "It's considered a bother if you keep pointing out my teeth are sharp, despite the fact I have not shown them to you, and the fact I doubt Miss Heleth had told you about them to you. Size Mages are not exactly common after all given our titan-like race hides in the shadows, and I prefer to keep my existence on the downlow given there are 'some' that would not hestitate to obliterate the Netherworld just to kill me. So please just call me Shad, kay?"

"Well, then." He snapped his head back to Jen, voice tone normal again. "We confirm that he may be in the place Miss Culsu does not want to be. Possibly between dimensions or portals, as far as I can make out from her riddle, or maybe in the Mazikin Hideout. Of course, I can't open a portal into another dimension, so if you can, Miss Culsu, just send me over to the place you don't want to go so I can check to see if Paimon is there, and then I'll signal you when I have him. Is that okay?"

"I'm here, but I wasn't here. Being and not being are the same for me. But, I'm here because I can't be not here completely." Cariot explained, her words just as confusing as Culsu's. "It's different with Paimon. He was here, but now he isn't. Or maybe he's here, but not in here!"

The blob waved her sleeves about again.

"So... What? Search outside the room?" The wrestler grumbled, only to be answered with a small nod. Oh, god damn it. "This place is a huge library. Where are we going to find him?"

Yet again, she was answered with a gesture. This time, Cariot tilted her head as she spun in the air slowly.

"You have time. Paimon will be here, somewhere~"

"I'll just have to trust that you know what you're doing then," Jen remarked as she followed Kell's move to search elsewhere, anywhere but not inside this room if that was what the pink-haired bloblike girl was implying. At any rate, the others' guesses were as good as hers. "So, if we're getting close to Paimon, I take it you'd have your way of letting us know, ne?" Jen asked as she glanced over at Culsu and Cariot, before leaving the room to continue her search for Paimon.

Culsu gave shad a puzzled face as he whispered to her about his teeth and some superior beings able to obliterate the Netherworld.
For once, she seemed incredibly surprised.
"Culsu thinks this is an interesting story!" she chirped nonchalantly, casually dismissing Shad's grim face.
"But Culsu can't open portals randomly. And Paimon isn't where the pink girl was, so no point in going there where Culsu doesn't like to be."

Ok, if someone understood what she meant, feel free to explain it. No, not you Cariot.

The green haired floating female moved toward Jen as she said: "Anyway, no one told Culsu toothy Shad is toothy. Culsu's eyes work well despite Culsu being an old hag, and pointy teeth aren't easy to hide."
She flew away, looking offended.
"Culsu thought toothy was a compliment of sorts. Culsu will call toothy Shad grumpy Shad from now on."

After a brief exchange between Cariot, Kell and Jen, Culsu simply agreed to say something about Paimon shoud they get close to him. Unfortunately, Culsu's face gave Jen a silent, worried look, just like she knew the outcome already.

The group spent some other time inside the library, but nothing else happened, nor there was any trace of Paimon. It just was an empty, abandoned structure.

In the end it was clear, Paimon wasn't there. Possibly he was held captive inside a Mazikin prison somewhere...

----

Meeting with Suzume, Seo and Naamah above the ground, Culsu exchanged few, confused words to the other demons that were working on cleaning the entrance of the ruins and managed to explain them that Paimon wasn't there anymore.
Apparently, she reassured them that Paimon was alive, but she had no idea where he was.

That said, she gathered the boys from Hyakuji, and teleported them away to New Sheol, in the same way she did in the past.

There, they found Heleth and Aya, carrying a bad news. Sheol's seal was destroyed, and the boundaries between Earth and the Netherworld began to overlap. The Mazikin won their first battle, and Lady Astaroth stayed behind in Derweze to make sure no one would violate that new opened portal to Earth.

What made everything worse was the discovery that the only person able to repair a broken seal, was the missing Paimon.

Mastema retired in his quarters, and suggested the Hyakujians to go back to Earth for the time being. Most of them had an Abraxas Stone, and they could come back to the Netherworld easily, should their help be needed.
For the moment, the Shedim were forced to defend and lick their wounds.

The taste of defeat was a sour one.
