How long had it been? In all honesty Sophia hadn’t given much thought to the girl she and Sidus had found in the catacombs under the ruined church. When the hospital suddenly called her saying Alexia had woke up, it took her a moment to remember what they were talking about, but when she did she immediately rushed over to see. The Valkyrie found Alexia sitting upright looking out the window in her hospital, strange enough there were no signs of her wings and the two beings that resided within them. That was probably for the best, seeing how the last encounter wasn’t exactly friendly. Sophia knocked lightly on the door to get the girl’s attention and Alexia turned around and looked at Sophia curiously. “Umm… Do you know who I am?” Alexia nodded. “Yes, Rakanoth and Sariel told me that you were… trustable.” Trustable huh… Well it’s a start. “Then… could you tell me who you are?” “My name is Alexia and… you’ve met Rakanoth and Sariel, yes? I’m sorry for Rakanoth’s behaviour, he’s…overprotective of me.” “It’s alright. But… could you tell me how they… well, how you met them?” An uneasy look crossed Alexia’s face. “I…I’m afraid that’s something I can’t talk about.” “Don’t worry about it, from what I saw…” It wasn’t that surprising, Sophia had found the girl inside a test tube after all. Someone like that probably won’t have a happy history. “Anyways, from what the nurse told me you should be okay to leave the hospital now. We’ll find you a place to stay first.” ------------------Some time later…------------------ “Just sign here and… here.” The nurse pointed out the form for Sophia and she signed accordingly. It look a little convincing, but the girl managed to convince the staff that they were related and now Alexia was her sister from out of town. “Thank you, Alexia are you ready?” “Umm… yes, I’m ready.” Alexia stepped up next to Sophia looking a little uncomfortable in her new clothes. Come to think of it who knew how long she had been locked up in there, so she could be from a whole different era. “This is… umm… I’m not used to this… clothing…” “You’ll get used to it soon. I’m guessing there will be a lot you’re not used to here, but take it slow and I’ll sure you’ll be okay. Shall we get going?” |

"Maaan this is so lame... why did she have to pick you to help me...?" "Am I actually hearing you complaining?" "W-WHAT, HAHA! NO OF COURSE NOT WHAT MAKES YOU SAY THAT?! Bloody nosy..." It wasn't long that he wished he never said the oddly English cursing, but he was fortunate enough that Seth seemed to be preoccupied with something else at the moment. The Ordinary Magician heaved a sigh as he contemplated what odd circumstances had led to him of all people having to help the Ordinary Magician run an errand for Alice at the local hospital... "Very well, since this is apparently quite the heavy load even for a mule like you," Alice Hyoudin said in her usual scoffing tone, much to the Ordinary Magician's pained heart as she moved towards the exit of the room. "Why not we seek help from your neighbor? I hear he is apparently quite the strongman," And before he knew it she was gone, leaving the Ordinary Magician in his own room to boxes after boxes of odd and nameless medicines and prescription, to knock on Room 413's door of Yuki Dormitory. ...Right. Pure unluck as they would call it. Seriously though, standing next to Seth is making him feel terribly uncool... Especially when he's struggling with one small boxes when Seth was lugging around three- wait four without even a- "Heh?" ...Woah, where did he go? He was just there next to Seth a moment ago- "Guuudo Morunigu Sofeeeaaa~!" He gained the ability to float in the air?! Look at him, just a while ago he was being bogged down by a tiny little box and now he's literally zooming as fast as possible towards a familiar face he never expected to find at this crummy little place...! "Hau aa yuu? Ai hoopu yuu werru~" Stop speaking English. Though he apparently managed to stop himself from continuously butchering the language as he turned his attention from Sophia to the person accompanying, or probably hiding behind her from Izumi's own sudden appearance. "Uhu? Saaay who's this, who's this? A friend of yours?" The Ordinary Magician's grin did not abate as he paced around the unrecognized person, almost like someone appraising- "Dear lady, you are the most beautiful person I have ever met. The name is Kirisame Izumi, what is your name and will you give yourself to me~?" Putting aside the speed- what's with that odd word choice?! |

“Izumi you know I’m Italian, not English right?” Nonetheless the Ordinary Magician’s antics brought a smile to Sophia’s face… Which was quickly replaced by a small pout when he went after Alexia. Of course that’s just like him, but the girl just got out of the hospital for crying out loud! He could at least show some restraint. Sophia moved in to bop Izumi on the head, but was stopped short when she sensed a menacing aura coming from Alexia. “Away from her you degenerate…!” The icy cold and distinctively male voice seemed to come from Alexia, but also echoed as if from all around. Sophia quickly caught on as to what was going on and pulled Izumi away from Alexia. “Umm… This is Alexia, she’s a friend from out of town! She’s a little shy so don’t flirt with her, okay?” The last thing she wanted was for Rakanoth to cause a scene in the middle of all these people, and if he was as protective as Alexia said, he would probably attack Izumi without a second thought. “Alexia, this is Izumi, a friend of mine. He’s a little umm… flirty, but he’s not a bad person.” Sophia shot a glance at Izumi with her twin coloured eyes, silently warning him not to act too rashly. The threatening atmosphere eased a bit, but there was still some tension in the air. “H…Hi… Nice to m…meet you…” It was clear that she was still very uneasy though, so Sophia looked around in an attempt to find a way to calm her down, or at least change the subject. She caught sight of Seth a short distance away and waved to him with a smile. He was carrying three boxes for some reason, and Izumi was carrying one as well, albeit much smaller. Come to think of it the mage had come from Seth’s direction hadn’t he? “Did you come with Seth? What brings you two here?” Edited by Sophia Antistita, Mar 9 2014, 04:49 AM.

"...Eh? Who said that?" So thought the Ordinary Magician anyway, a bit perplexed he was at hearing the odd voice that seemed to come from out of nowhere echoing around them. Unfortunately for him, whenever his eyes catches sight of any opposing gender who he deems to meet his standard of attractiveness, a part of his brain would appear to shut itself down, mostly involving his awareness of his surrounding. The spare mental resource would instead be redirected towards the next closest object of attraction he could reach, and when Alexia was not it... "Oh Sophie, come now, don't be envious~" He wasted no time turning all of his attention to the Valkyrie instead, clasping her hand tight and close to himself. "There will always be a room in my heart reserved just for you~" WHAM!!! "OW! What was that for?!" "You dropped your box," Seth said as he raised the little box in his hand that Izumi had dropped earlier in favor of holding the girl's hands instead. Oh. ...Right, they're supposed to be here for... oh goddammit... "His relative popped around and asked for my help to get the local hospital some... stuff I guess," The young man said as he explained their reason for being here, tossing the little box to stack up neatly on top of the three other ones he's balancing on his shoulder while Izumi was left to grumble at the young man's interruption and reminder. "As you can see, she could barely trust her own relative and chose to ask for help from his neighbor instead," Izumi is very sure he does not need reminding on that. "Then why don't you just do everything yourself..." The Ordinary Magician couldn't help but grumble under his breath. But no sooner than that he realized he just said it out loud and clasped his hands over his mouth, glancing someone terrified at the young man's response- "I was going to actually," ...Eh? Before the Ordinary Magician knew it Seth was already walking away from the trio, all packages balanced carefully on his shoulders as he gave a backward wave of his hand without even turning back or another word. "...Jeez you're cold..." What an odd thing to say, despite his relief that he wasn't subject to another one of Seth's violent physical torture, or so he likes to eloquently call it. ...Well in any case! "Now that I'm free! You two want to go on a date?" He said in a complete one eighty degrees turn of demeanor from irritated to cheerful, completely forgetting about Seth as his mind was focused back on the two girls. "At the very least your friend could be shown around town. I know a great place where all three of us can have a nice welcoming dinner for your friend here~" He is incredible. |

Unlike the carefree magician however, Sophia was a bit taken aback by Seth’s quick departure. She would have gone after him to see if she could have helped out in some way, but leaving Alexia alone with Izumi probably might not be a good idea. Besides, it might be a good idea to show her around town and get her to meet more people. “Is that okay with you Alexia?” The girl merely nodded in response and Sophia took her hand and led her outside before Izumi could drag her out like he tends to do with the Valkyrie. The hustle bustle of daily Hyakujian life was going on full throttle thanks to the evening rush hour. Thousands of people going on their commute home in cars, bikes, or just plain walking, whatever the case the streets were packed with people. Sophia knew that to Alexia this must be quite a culture shock, so she kept a close eye on the girl. But first… “Izumi come here for a second.” In a rare role reversal Sophia dragged the Ordinary Magician away from Alexia. “Let me make this clear, it’s not a date and Alexia’s a very delicate girl so no flirting okay?” She had already told him earlier, but given Izumi’s very quick change in behaviour it was clear that he had completely forgotten about what she said. “Look, if you hold back today I’ll go on a date with you later okay?” Frankly it was probably the only way to keep a chronic flirt in check. Izumi really got the better deal though, she’s protecting him and he gets a date out of this, looks like it’s his lucky day. “U…Umm… Sophia?” Alexia looked nervously at the pair. Her face had the look of a deer caught in the headlights, but there was a bit of a soothing aura coming from her as well. “Ah.. Sorry Alexia, shall we get going?” The purple haired girl nodded and went back to looking around at the new sights. Sophia took the chance to shoot Izumi a glance before returning to Alexia’s side. “So where’s that place you were talking about Izumi?” |

It was arguable whether he even heard of the Valkyrie's warning or what he was supposed to promise her about, but one thing he does know however, and is definitely happy about, is the promise of a date with the Valkyrie in exchange for... something else he was supposed to be doing. Or not doing. ...He can't remember but it doesn't matter! "Alright, you can count on me!" He said cheerfully in a very misplaced enthusiasm. Well she wanted to trust him, so... Whether this is considered a date by any one of them or not, the Ordinary Magician is just content enough to not have to worry about some stupid work he had to do, plus he gets to spend the rest of the day in the company of two charming ladies. Honestly, those who really knows him wouldn't expect anything more than that running around in his head. Though who knows, his enthusiasm may turn out to be a blessing. "Good day fair ladies, I humbly welcome to the magical city of Hyakuji~" He redundantly announced his presence with a deep and flourish bow to Alexia and Sophia, quick to take on the role of, "My name is Kirisame Izumi, the brilliant and charming Ordinary Magician and your One-Day Free-of-Charge Ordinary Tour Guide of Hyakuji~" Probably a little bit too flourish for a normal tour-guide though. At the very least he's certainly happy putting effort in making it entertaining. "Now, before we begin our tour, why don't we all have a little bite? I know just the place where we can all have some of the most brilliant and delicious mouth-watering eateries in this city!" That... certainly sounded fancy. With the way he's saying it, he actually made it sound pretty convincing. Though where the heck is he going to- He turned around and walked a few steps before stopping right next to a takoyaki stand parked just outside the hospital. ...You think he's kidding, but he's really serious about it. See, he's beckoning for them to come too. ...He's already ordering some. |

Sophia can’t help but worry when Izumi ran off that quickly, she wasn’t even sure he heard her. Well, she was pretty sure he heard the part about the date, but the condition… probably not. Let’s just hope he’ll keep his end of the bargain. “Hey wait up Izumi!” …And so begins the not date. So far it wasn’t so bad, if anything Izumi was putting up a good show. Sophia shrugged and looked to Alexia. “Well… you must be tired of hospital food. Cuisine has changed a lot over the years, why don’t you try it?” The Valkyrie took one of the takoyakis Izumi ordered and held it out to Alexia, who turned it around in her hand as if trying to figure out what it was. Finally she popped the takoyaki into her mouth and… her eyes shot wide open. “I…It’s s…spicy!” Oh dear… Sophia quickly bought Alexia a soda and opened it for her. The purple haired girl took a swig of the drink. “I…Is this some kind of p…potion? It feels like there’s something jumping around in my mouth!” The girl calmed down a little while later though, leaving Sophia with a very apologetic look on her face. “Ah… umm… Sorry about that… I guess it was too big a jump…?” “It’s a…alright Sophia… at least the umm… soda? At least that was pretty sweet.” Alexia was smiling, but it was a bit forced and it was clear that she was still a bit distressed. The look didn’t escape Sophia’s notice, and the Valkyrie turned to Izumi. “Maybe we should start with some milder foods? Or how about some sights?” Upon hearing this Alexia’s eyes lit up. “Umm... There was a lake that I was very fond of. Is that still around?” “Oh! You mean the lake on campus! Of course, I’ve never been there myself, but I heard it was a beautiful place.” Sophia smiled and looked at Izumi. “What do you say? We can pick up some food on the way if you want.” |

"Eeeh?" Upon hearing their intent the Ordinary Magician was quick to groan in disappointment. "Of all the places here you picked back at school?" Look, that lake was pretty sizable and it's really not that hard to miss if you have to go through the school ground every day to get to class. Even more so when you fly around the school area practically daily. There are way better places with lakes they could go, even the fountain at the park would have been a more acceptable choice over the school of all places! So unromantic... and they are supposed to be on a date... Even though they aren't. For all his complaint though, he was the one quick to take the lead. "Buuut, the one thing a gentleman should never do is turn down a lady's request. The school is this way, allow me to lead the way~" Without further ado and having already recovered from his very brief moment of disappointment, he is off, stopping only to wait for the two to follow him. "So, she said you're a friend from out of town? Where is that exactly?" The Ordinary Magician asked curiously as a subject for small talks as they made their way to the school. "Are you from Italy just like her? Your name is definitely not local, and you sure look exotic~" ...Nice play of thinly-veiled compliment. "How long have you two known each other and how did you meet? Are you from a magical family or something? Have you been to Japan before? No wait that's dumb, of course you've been..." Dude, slow down on the questions... |

“Well… Izumi, she’s not exactly from out of town…” Sophia started nervously as a look of pure joy filled Alexia’s features. “You see… I found her und… Hey Alexia! Wait!!” Without warning the purple haired girl sprouted a pair of majestic wings, one white and one black, and took to the skies. Sophia caught a glimpse of the girl’s face and thought she saw a glimmer of hope in her eyes. Oddly enough there was also a sense of desperation as well… There was no time for her to muse about this, Alexia was flying at an incredible pace, and if they didn’t go after her right away they were bound to lose her. “Alarum Valhalla!” Sophia summoned her wings as well and grabbed Izumi. “Hang on tight, we need to catch up to her.” She barely gave the Ordinary Magician a second to comply before taking off as well, trying her best to catch up to Alexia and hoping nothing was wrong. -----------------------Some time later…----------------------- Sophia hovered over the school lake with Izumi in tow, having lost sight of Alexia. She was simply too fast for the Valkyrie so now Sophia was worriedly looking all over for the purple haired girl. “She should be here… She looked so… eager to come…” Eager might not have been the best word, the memory of the look on Alexia’s face was really making Sophia anxious. What could it mean? Fortunately she caught sight of Alexia standing by the shore and swooped down to land a little ways behind her. Alexia’s wings were still out, but now it looked like there was a completely white woman coming out from it, or rather the woman was a part of the wing. The woman had her arms around Alexia, who was staring out towards the lake, and there was a gentle soothing aura emanating from her, but there was no mistaking the sense of sorrow that lingered over Alexia. “Alexia…?” Sophia approached slowly, not wanting to startle the girl. “It’s so small…” The response gave Sophia pause. She knew it wasn’t exactly the largest lake in Japan, but it was still beautiful right? “I… The last time I came here… it was much, much bigger…” |

Hookay, this is not how he was expecting a little outing with two girls should go. While he would have loved to spend the whole time being in the hands of Sophia, he's REALLY not sure about it if it means being a few hundred feet in the air without his trusted stick-and-straw flying companion. Which is why by the time the Valkyrie and the Ordinary Magician are back at the school he was already back on his flying broom he had called for earlier. Plus, less load on her too. "What the heck was that all about anyway..." He had very mild suspicion earlier about Alexia, but he chose to dismiss it in favor of... well, his male instinct and wants. Now though, there is no excuse for him not to ask. The advantage of flying without wings is he could easily take off and land without any more noise than him stepping on and off the ground. Not exactly the most useful thing to know, but he felt it somewhat prudent not to disturb the seemingly melancholic girl standing by the school lake... and putting aside the white woman who seemed to be her own wings. ...This is so annoying. "She's not a friend or even someone from out of town, is she?" The Ordinary Magician spoke up, though loud enough only for Sophia to hear him. Whatever cheerful demeanor and expression he had earlier, were all but gone and replaced with what seems to be... quite the disappointment and irritation. "Mind explaining?" |

“Yes she is a friend Izumi.” Sophia whirled around and shot a glare at the Ordinary Magician, but her expression softened almost instantly. “But… I do owe you an explanation.” She beckoned Izumi to come closer and turned her attention back to Alexia. “I found her in a dungeon deep under the ruined church. She was in some sort of… stasis tube and there were dozens of monstrosities sealed down there as well. I have no idea how old the dungeon is, but it looked like it was used for experiments. And I… suspect Alexia is the result.” The girl in question continued to gaze out over the water, seemingly unaware of what they were saying. “I wanted to ease her into this, but I don’t think that went very well…” Sophia sighed. “At the very least I wanted to find out when she came from… Maybe then we’ll have more clues.” “1619… Or at least that’s as far as my memory goes.” Alexia slowly turned towards the pair with her head down and hair hiding her eyes. “When I first heard that is was 2014 I thought I was still in… stasis and that I was dreaming…” She lifted her head to reveal a sad smile and teary eyes. “But I’m not dreaming, am I? It really has been four hundred years a…and everyone I know is… gone.” The tears flowed silently as Alexia turned away once more. The woman in her wing also became distressed and did her best to comfort her but with little success. At this point Alexia’s other wing stirred and a hooded masculine figure emerged and began comforting the purple haired girl as well. Sophia inched closer, but wasn’t so sure if she should get too close with both of Alexia’s guardians present. Then an idea came to Sophia and she turned to Izumi. “You know Japan better than I do, right Izumi? Do you know anything that might have happened around 1619? Or maybe Alice will know more?” She paused and watched Alexia’s guardians a bit. “There’s also Rakanoth and Sariel, the people in her wings. The name Rakanoth sounds familiar somehow…” |

H-hey, he was just generalizing, don't take it so seriously...! The boy gave a relieved sigh as her tone softened, though still slightly nervous from her sudden rise in voice as she was clearly offended. ...Was that the first time she had ever gotten angry at him? That actually kind of hurt... ...No no, put that aside, there's a matter much more important to be of concern. Which honestly is a bit too much of an exposition for him to suddenly take out of nowhere. This is certainly not what he had bargained for, a dungeon under that old church behind the school? Experimental humans? Year 1619? Seriously, what the heck had been going on under his nose that he doesn't even know about? "Uh... hold on hold... ...You know this is not how a date should have gone, right...?" She probably knows it very well, and she's probably going to get riled up at him again for still not dropping the date thing. "Meeting a four hundred year old girl who was apparently an experiment from a dungeon hidden underneath the crummy old church is not what I had in planned..." ...Seriously, are you still on to that? I know this is a bit hard to swallow, but even you should know what it's like to suddenly find out everyone you have come to know and love are gone, especially after four hundred years-! "Persecution of Christians in Japan," He said, though his voice was kept low enough that only Sophia could hear him. His tone was dark and serious however, lacking of any trace of his usual cheerfulness from earlier. "Early to mid 1500s, western folks came around to Japan, Kyoto mostly, and spread Christianity. It was initially well-received and they had a lot of converters, but suddenly nearing the end of the 16th century, some guy named Hideyoshi decided Christianity is tearing the Japanese people apart and started stamping them out. The 1620s was the worst, full-scale government persecution forcing all Christians to leave, or executed. A few handful escaped underground, but records have it that they all died out," It probably shouldn't be too hard to put the pieces together about Alexia's true identity. Of course, it's all speculation and assumptions until she confirms it herself, but all the clues are just pointing to that one direction... He fell silent. This whole time his eyes had been kept on Alexia making sure she couldn't hear him. He's finished his explanation however, then turned his attention to Sophia, "This could break her. Do you really want her to know?" The Ordinary Magician said, the concerned look on his face was... oddly reminiscent to that of another certain young butler when he's making a hard decision... Alice's history lesson was actually useful. |

“Persecution of Christians…” Such things aren’t unheard of, but doesn’t make it any better. But now what? Izumi was right, Alexia’s not in the best state of mind right now and news like that might not be very good for her. A person can only take so much bad news in one day, and this… this is not good. Then again there was no telling if Alexia was a willing participant in the experiments. For all they knew she could have been kidnapped to be used in this research, so it’s POSSIBLE that she will be happy to hear…? Okay no, Sophia was pretty sure Alexia wasn’t the type who would be happy to hear about people being executed, even if they were involved in devious experiments. “I… I don’t know…” Fortunately Alexia didn’t hear them, probably because she was too focused on her guardians or the only thing that reminded her of her past. What does one do in a situation like this? |

Well, that's a relief for him actually, much so that he couldn't help but smile. Just a little. It was somewhat reassuring to know that he's not the only one indecisive about the situation. "W-well, those are just assumptions anyway... we don't even know if she's really a part of that history. After all, there's a LOT that could have happened back then, she's probably not even related," He added in an attempt to lighten up the atmosphere, pushing away a looming possible truth or mere speculations with thoughts that... it's better not to know. "Besides, erm... it's already in the past, isn't it? We can... we can help her get over it! If she-" "Doing things half-heartedly again? I really can't expect anything more from you can I?" If metaphors could turn to reality, there would be a sudden rumbling of thunder to accompany the sudden appearance of Seth Ryouga from behind the two of them. Comical as that may sound, one person at least does not think that way. 'Taken by surprise' would be an understatement as the Ordinary Magician quite literally yelped and scrambled to hide behind the Valkyrie in terror. "S-S-Seth?! What are you doing here?!" "I finished the job and now I'm taking a walk?" Izumi's fear of Seth would appear to be completely unwarranted, because putting aside the momentary seemingly dark appearance it doesn't seem like he's being at all threatening in any way. Though knowing him, him being angry is the least of anyone's worry... "You there, girl with two people on her back," The young man barked without consideration of Alexia's feelings at all, completely ignoring both Sophia and Izumi (who also went and whispered "H-hey, what are you doing?! Shut up!" in alarm to Seth). "What do you remember about the year 1619?" Everyone else, don't disturb him. He doesn't like it when someone disturbs him. |

The first sign that Alexia had heard Seth’s rather inconsiderate interruption was the sudden appearance of an ominous aura. The hooded man in the girl’s wing looked up and revealed his face… or rather… lack of one. There was no hair or skin or flesh, merely a skull with empty eyes that seemed to drain the very warmth out of the air. “Who do you think you are!?” Fortunately for everyone present Alexia reached up and placed a hand against the skull’s cheekbone. “I…It’s alright Rakanoth… I… I want to know what happened…” The girl sniffled as the woman in her other wing wiped away her tears. “But w…who are you?” “He’s Seth!” Sophia snapped out of the nervous trance she was in and quickly stepped up next to the young man, shooting him a sharp glance. “Another friend of mine, you met briefly at the hospital, remember?” “That's right... You have lots of friends, don’t you Sophia?” Alexia had mostly stopped crying, but a melancholic expression remained despite the small smile she was giving. “Somehow it makes me a little envious…” “I remember 1619 as if it was yesterday… Thanks to being in stasis I suppose, but even then there isn’t much I could say. I wasn’t allowed to leave the church so I spent most of my time in the main building. A lot of people came to pray though… it sounded like there was a lot of fighting in the outside world and they wanted someone to protect them. Sometimes it sounded like they were asking me to protect them…” She fell silent for a moment, as if remembering the past. “When I asked Father Antonio about it he always told me that I would one day serve a great purpose, but the time wasn’t right. I didn’t know what he meant, but he always took care of me so I decided to trust him. Then one night during winter… Father Antonio suddenly burst into my room and told me to follow him.” Another moment of silence, interrupted only by the sounds of the forest. “There was shouting, screaming, and I could see flames outside the windows. He took me to the catacombs and told me to get inside the stasis tube. I asked him so many times why I had to go, but all he would say was the time wasn’t right…” |
