Yogen sat on the smooth tile of the roof with a curved piece of steel in his hands, holding it between his fingers delicately. The piece of metal was about 18 inches long and bent in a long upside-down "V" and had once been six soda cans Yogen had found discarded next to a trash can about an hour ago. He'd picked one up and tossed it towards the lip of the trash can when the wind caught it and blew it off of its trajectory, curving away from the open trash can. Struck by a sudden idea, Yogen had gathered them up and run up to the best place to throw things. The roof of the school.

He'd sat there and felt the hum of the metal, a resonance that he'd learned over years to feel. All metal sang at a certain frequency, and when he'd synchronized his own energy with the delicate hum of the aluminum, he'd converted the cans to a liquid form, and combined them into one solid amalgamation of multi-colored metal. Since then, he'd shaped it into a crude long "V" and had been tinkering with the form, trying to get it to be a proper boomerang.

He threw it, the makeshift boomerang spinning rapidly, but in a straight line, not an arc. Before it got too far away from him, Yogen extended his open hand and the boomerang slowed, and spun back into his open palm. He tinkered with it, smoothing the front lip to make it more aerodynamic, and readjusted the angle of the "V" trying to figure out the best spot for it. He'd never worked with something like this, and when he threw it again, his heart leapt as it flew in a much more elegant arc...before it crashed into the door which had opened mid-flight. The boomerang clattered to the ground with a clatter and Yogen winced. "Sorry!" he shouted to whoever had opened the door.

Ayame was on her way to the student council room to turn in her findings of what was happening within the school as of late. Surprisingly it happened to be a very nice day outside. So checking in with fellow club presidents, teachers and others made it a lot easier for her.

Clank!

Immediately Trix went into defensive mode, shouting at the top of her lungs whilst cowering into her shoulder. "Hey w-watch it buddy!" Whilst she picked up and examined what looked to be a makeshift metal boomerang, before looking up at the student, and making her way to him.

Once she was on the roof, she walked towards him and handed over the boomerang at a safe distance. "I'm guessing this is yours?" Grinning a half-hearted smile she chuckled, "Luckily for you, I'm not going to report this to the disciplinary officer. Being that it's a good day today, I'll let it slide."

The familiar looked at the girl as if she was insane, but she simply ignore it. Extending out her free hand to him, she introduced herself. "Ayame Tadashi, general affairs assistant."

Yogen unstrained his eyes to see a girl emerge from the doorway he had just accidentally assaulted. She was tall for a girl, with long dark purple hair and bright eyes that looked to be a shade of green. She had a calm and serene face that spoke of kindness, so when the nervous shouting started Yogen was taken aback. Immediately, he hopped to his feet, and stood at his full height mouth open ready to start shouting back (even though he was the one in the wrong) when he paused, mouth open. The girl wasn't the one who had spoken. Looking over her shoulder, he saw a small girl with blue hair looking incensed. He wasn't exactly sure what to do when she came over to him offering the boomerang back.

"Oh...uhh....well yeah thanks!" he said slightly deflated, taking the boomerang back. Of course, the one person he would chuck a hunk of metal at would be part of the student governing body that looked down on such behavior. It's not like he was unused to being in trouble, but still, this girl really didn't have to let him off the hook.

He took her hand in his massive calloused one, surprisingly gently. "I swear this isn't usually how I spend my time; at least the throwing things at people bit. The thinkering part is pretty regular. Oh yeah! I'm Yogen."

He gestured to the fairy on her shoulder, "Um, who? What?" He didn't really know how to ask in a sensitive way. That wasn't exactly a strong suit of his.

Chuckling softly she shook his hand, before soon letting it go. "Don't worry about it, nice to meet you, Yogen." Seeing his reaction wasn't really common to her, usually most people would just put the generosity aside and not really think of it. He seemed to be grateful though, which was something that really astounded her.

I wish more people were like that...

Being that she wasn't paying much attention, once she came back too she was greeted by an obnoxious high-pitched squeal. "A who what?!?! I'm not a 'who-what' I am a fairy and familiar thank-you! You don't see ME calling you a who-what with those inhuman muscles of y-" Clenching her fists, her frustrations visually began to come out when pebbles along the roof began to shake up and down, as if there was an earthquake.

Making Trix cower hunching her shoulder's up as if she was a turtle, about to hide in her shell. As the 'earthquake' came to a stop, smiling softly, she chuckled halfheartedly. "Oh, that's just Trix. Don't worry about her, she just has a temper at times...right Trix?" The familiar croaked quietly, "Y-Yeah haha..."

If this wasn't eye-popping, she didn't know what could be...

Ayame shook his hand and didn't look the slightest bit perturbed by what had happened so Yogen figured that she was sincere when she had said to not worry about it. The difference between the serene Ayame and her familiar was almost as stark as night and day. One cool and collected, the other impulsive and loud, very similar to his own.

When Trix returned fire at him he pointed a finger, "Hey! I started with who didn't I? Doesn't that count for something? And now I know! And I'll have you know that my muscles are perfectly human thank you very much!" It was a trivial argument, but the fact of the matter was that whenever Yogen was confronted by a personality as stubborn as his, he always met the problem head on, and often didn't think it thing through. As he was going to follow up with another barrage in defense of himself, the stones on the ground around them began to clatter about.

Yogen was mentally on guard in an instant, though he gave no movements to betray that. His brain flashed through assessments in an instant. 'An earth elemancer or manipulator? Ayame? Doesn't seem the type. Trix? No, the color drained from her face. Somebody else? Ayame doesn't seem phased, it must be from her. The thoughts raced through his mind and he was at ease. He didn't pick up any harmful intentions from girl; he figured the vibrations had been a subtle use of her powers to prove a point as opposed to a challenge. He was stubborn, but not stupid.

Ayame diffused the situation as cooly as if she was brushing some dust off her coat, explaining Trix's natural inclination towards fight as opposed to flight. As soon as she finished speaking, Yogen laughed loud, bending slightly he was laughing so hard. After a moment, he straightened up, wiping small tears of laughter from his eyes. "You don't say! Well I think Trix and I are going to get along fine then," he said holding out a hand to the fairy.

"Truce?" he offered, and then, "So how exactly did the two of you meet in the first place?"

Perfectly human?
Yeah right...

The familiar knew by now that especially by now, with all seen at hyakuji, nobody was perfectly human, especially her dear companion Ayame. Sure she was human but with her inhuman abilities, she certainly wasn't just your average human-teenage girl. Unlike her friend who was eager to touch his hand, Trix was hesitant whilst a million thoughts came in her head.

What if he crushes me in one grasp? Oh my gosh... he can't expect me to touch that dirty thing! It looks like he dosen't even wash his hands!

Though with a soft sigh, she came in contact with his pinkie finger and shook it, as if it were a hand. "T-Truce..." Smiling proudly stood Ayame, chuckling softly at Trix's small gesture. Once the question was asked, just before her giant friend could say anything, words came flooding out of her mouth...

"How we met? It was just like yesterday! I just got approved to be a full-fledged familiar from school, and they gave me the document papers with a picture of her as a cute-wootsie little baby! Of course I said yes to being her familiar, so I flew straight to her... and since that day on-"

Coughing mockingly, Ayame interrupted. "I think he understands Trix..." Carrying on, the brunette added. "Like she said, pretty much been with her since I can remember but since your the one asking questions..." She paused licking her lips, "What made you come here to this school?"

Yogen had seen neglected animals show more enthusiasm at meeting a stranger than Trix did when she reached out for his calloused pinky. For a moment, the thought of lurching forward with a roar crossed his mind but he quickly staunched it. He was meeting new people. That would not go over well.

However, as soon as she had, Trix started chatting away as if the she'd known him for years. He raised his eyebrows at the sudden change in demeanor and tried to take in everything she said. She and Ayame had been together since Ayame had been a child, paired after Trix had graduated from school. What school? Familiar school. And then…Ayame gracefully interrupted Trix's diatribe.

He turned to her, "That's pretty much one of the most interesting friendships I've ever heard of," he said with curiosity in his voice, "It's a good thing that you two get along as well as you do. Is that what the school is for?"

At her question, he held up the boomerang for them to see, then grasping it with both hands, harmonized his own energy with the resonance from the aluminum, and split the boomerang cleanly in half. He dropped one half and held the other between his fingers and pulled, stretching the metal like it was silly putty, the right-angled edges rounding out with a flick of a finger. Finally, he pulled a thin protrusion from the wider base and held it up for inspection. Though it lacked fine details, after a moment, it was clear that Yogen was holding a metal feather.

He bowed, "I'm a metalsmith. I can control and shape almost any metal I want to any shape with work. I specialize in weaponry, but take the occasional creative binge every once and again. Honestly, I'm here looking to learn more about smithing, maybe find somebody with similar powers who can teach more more than I already know."

A metal smith eh?

The girl marveled at his natural talent for craftsmanship, that ability was definitely useful. Not that her's wasn't, mind you after all these years she still hasn't had full control over it yet. Though with something like Telekinesis...

She probably never will.

"Very nice, though it may be difficult to find someone with such fine skill."
Chuckling softly, Ayame smiled. "Well, I wish you luck on your journey, I'm afraid I must get going. Before my boss starts looking for me all over the damn place! Take care!" As she made her leave, the whole time in between before she shut the door behind her, the familiar stared at the fellow student. Leaving him with an intense look.

Oh geez, just what might happen when they cross path's again?
