"Damnit." Ricard cursed under his breath as his opponent ran past him. No matter what he did he couldn't actually hurt her. The distance between them both was far to big, he didn't know how he could even attempt to stop her. She was like a juggernaut, Ricard didn't know how he could protect the innocent civilians against someone whose power far exceeded his own. Ricard noticed as the person who had been manifesting the barriers attempted to slingshot the thief into the wall. This was more then likely his only chance of actually doing anything effective, he began to channel as much magic into his blade as possible. He activated his technique, he called it dancing winds because more often then not it resulted in various arcs of wind flying towards the opponent due to the wild slashing motions that followed. With unerring speed he appeared next to the opponent and made several slashing motions. Even if Nieves wouldn't be damaged by the slashes then the wind blades should at least hopefully damage her in some way before flying for a while longer then dissipating into the rest of the air. |

Splendid, truly splendid! However, it was too late. Nieves could feel a prickling on her neck, and she knew what her intuition was telling her. Ah. So she had lost this round. Very well, she could guess who the winner of this trial was. When she returned, she would applaud his efforts. For now.... Nieves turned around, covered in shattered brick and wires. She had plowed right through the wall, but that hadn't affected her. Very clever move, though. If it had been her 16 year old self that had been caught in such a trap, it might have been able to knock her for a loop. The wires were a different matter. She gave a single exploratory flex of her muscles. Hmm, now this was a sturdy length of wire. The Ascetic would have to put quite a bit of strength into breaking loose. Very high quality, indeed. The same could be said of those slashing winds. Her 18 year old self would be bleeding profusely right now. But yet again, she was unfazed aside from having her clothes cut apart. The years of constant improvement had been good for her health, it seemed. "Had you known my physical limits, you would not have assumed your manuevers world work. Your tactics and your composure are very remarkable, though. Most others would have run from certain death." She smiled mildly at Misae and Ricard, though her eyes bored into theirs. "The question is, are you prepared to chase after it? We number four, brave ones. If you wish to risk yourself to protect the world from our ambitions, then tell me your names. I will remember them when you come for us." |

The magic faded from Ricard's body, seeing as he ended it early he could still stand but his blade dissipated from his hands. He was thoroughly worn out though, he definitely couldn't fight anymore so he had to hope that his opponent had at least been slightly damaged. Unfortunately she didn't seem to be at all fazed by it. This was a very bad situation that they were in now, Ricard was well and truly out of the fight and he wasn't sure how the other magus could handle an opponent this strong. "I suppose I should thank you for the compliment." Ricard said as he caught his breath, he didn't know what his opponent was playing at. She seemed to have stopped everything and just stood there. Did she plan to leave now? Ricard was still confused at what was happening. Ricard stood up straight and his eyes met Nieves's own. "My name is Ricard, remember it well." While he wasn't a threat to her at all anymore he stood tall due to his honor deeming it so. |

It was about what she expected. From the beginning, Misae never had the intention of defeating her opponent. That she had been singing the Hymn of Luminous Defence instead of the PURGER protocol meant her priority was to minimise the damage, rather than focus on attacking. Defeating them would have been a bonus, but rather than a priority The remaining ethelite withdrew back into the gloves. It would take a few days to recover the amount she'd just expended, though she had plenty more remaining if it came to that. Misae returned Nieve's gaze with a cold, almost bored look as she confronted her. Even if it was clear she was outmatched in raw power, she'd never allowed herself to show weakness before, nor would she start now. In a situation that garners panic, those who remained calm and controlled themselves had an advantage. "Misae Eltnam, successor to Eoria." she said blandly, extending her arm to the side. "And you're assuming far too much if you think I care enough about protecting the world from you." |

"I will remember, then. Ricard and Misae, I look forward to our next meeting." Nieves' laughter was rather low, but she still has a pleasant expression on her face. Considering she had just tried to kill civilians to motivate them just a few moments ago, it was rather disconcerting how little she cared about the whole mess. "The world will change very soon. This was a small incident, but it was started for a much greater reward. We will find out whose ideals will shape the new era. That is, if you cannot stop us. Even if you do not support the status quo, I sincerely doubt you would want a stranger's values imposing themselves on reality." With one last peal of laughter, she stood firmly and bowed to the two students. "It has been a privilege. Until next time, o brave ones." Her humble farewell ended with her disappearing into thin air. The time for final judgement would come soon.... |

Look at his little dance

Tuxedo Mask couldn't really understand why things had ended up like this, but it wasn't really something that he could casually avoid either. Unsure how to follow-up he settled on the only reasonable ending and simply left as discreetly as he could manage, climbing and bounding away. He had tried to help at least, rather than running away. |
