Sophia’s eyes shot wide as Eris dodged her attack by sitting on her spear of all things, and even more so when the goddess dodged yet again, this time leaving… “Shirena!?” The Valkyrie managed to pull her weapon out of the pyromancer’s path, but was too slow to do the same for herself and was barrelled over by Shirena’s charge. She had no idea what he was up to, charging around madly like that, but there was no time to find out and she threw the boy off her. “I don’t know what the hell you’re doing Shirena, but we’re not your enemies!” Growling slightly she returned her attention to Eris, only to see that Astaroth had come to their rescue. Not from everything it seemed, seeing how Aya and Heleth were on the run from some kind of snake thing. Gritting her teeth the Valkyrie took off after the two girls and aimed a flying kick at their pursuer. Naturally it wasn’t strong enough to destroy a stone snake, but it did well to knock it off course. She followed up her kick by slamming the butt of her spear against its head to stun it, and shouted at Heleth. “Heleth! Bind this thing with your hair!” |

Turning misery into meaningfulness!
|
Shirena, flinching upon seeing Eris dodge away, and Sophia in her place, quickly began making a beeline for Eris...or he would've, if he hadn't collided with Sophia already. "DAMN IT!" He yelled, in annoyance, more than anything, as Sophia told him off. "Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!" He yelled, as she grabbed him to throw him off, and he blasted away, bursting towards Eris again. "I'LL KILL YOU!" He yelled, in a voice of pure, primal rage. His eyes became brighter, his flames became hotter, as he moves in to destroy his pain inducing enemy. He quickly noticed the stone snakes, and even better, Eris. He quickly dived towards her, explosions filling the air, the flames he emitted making it a tad bit harder to breath for anyone nearby. He quickly began firing off a barrage of flame-fueled attacks, in an attempt to damage Eris...but he already knew he wouldn't do much. Behind her, flames under Shirena's control flew at her, a seemingly unending flow of attacks attempting to hit from both sides! Edited by bmsman816, Apr 6 2014, 03:02 PM.

The snakes were left to deal with their quarry as they faced off the others in combat, seeming to move under their own will, or with only minimal care and awareness from their master. Their master, of course, being the goddess who now took her time in approaching the current combatants, sashaying along as she watched them struggle and fight against her creations. "Now, now, Asty, don't be an impatient little hellspawn. You're not getting my personal attention just yet..." There was a glint in Eris' eye as she glanced over her shoulder, before smirking as she stared back at the oncoming Shirena. "Really, trying to burn me? I can commend the determination, but..." As ever, and somewhat to be expected with a goddess who seemed to exist largely for the frustration of others, Eris responded in a none too kind fashion. For several moments she weaved in and out of the furious flames, even those from behind, as if she were testing what might happen to Shirena when exposed to his own attack. Her... clothes, had a somewhat mixed result from this, as some parts stood firm in spite of what was being done, whilst others were quickly alight. Seemed she had quite the varied wardrobe, probably collected from a different away of sources... And as Shirena sent them up in smoke, she proceeded to throw them in his face. The thing he'd have to look out for though was the scarf, which if it got around his face, then unfortunately Eris would make her move. Namely, dashing past the boy to grab the two flaming ends, and then with a few twists, use it as a hook to spin him around and around like a ragdoll, before tossing him towards Sophia. Whether that worked, or if the boy managed to slip out, she would race onwards to the valkyrie regardless, mirroring her earlier move as she leapt up, and outstretched one foot for a strike. |

Heleth interrupted her race, as the monster flinched under Sophia's assault. "That was the plan!" she shouted as her now very long hair stretched enough to envelop a good chunk of the rocky creature. "But I really needed a few more seconds!" Her strands moved to bind the creature, sliding quickly around it. At that point, Aya came to a halt too, and stopped to think what could she do. The rocky creature squirmed as its movement were now hindered enough to prevent it to move freely. It was a chance to strike. Her previous kick did little: despite her increased strength it barely knocked it off balance when she saved Heleth. It was a joke compared to the sheer brutal power Astaroth displayed. The girl dashed toward a damaged lamp post, and grinning her teeths for the effort, eraticated the divelted metal from the ground. She stopped to catch her breath a few times before taking its end with both hands. "All right" the student took four steps, as fast as she could while dragging such weight. "Hope you like..." Aya used the gained momentum to arch the whole pole above her. With the teeths grinned for the effort "...This!" The girl managed to slam down the pole on the binded creature. The rocky structure that composed it cracked, but it didn't shatter. ---- Astaroth just shattered the central part of the other stone snake with ease, and already put an end to its rampage with a second, powerful blow on its head. The demon of war wasn't talking nor boasting, falling silent once again. Her grin was wide and visible in the distance. Her weapon shone of the same red light as her hands earlier. The tool seemed to alter its shape, changing into a long spiked chain. Nonchalantly, with the grace of a creature that could handle almost any weapon with ease Astaroth had the chain spin on her right. Again, without a word, the demon sprung toward Eris, with the clear intent of assailing her again, no matter what was happening to the goddess's clothes, Shirena or Sophia. ---- The distance was enough to dodge the sword strike with relative ease. The fake Eris simply dropped herself down from the column into the fountain below. "Tsk!" With a carefree smile on her face, she dipped both hands into the fountain and threw water at Seth. A blue light shone under her clothes as the droplets aimed at the boy turned into sharp ice shards flying in his direction. "That wasn't impressive. That didn't look strong at all!" She giggled as she raised more water with her right hand toward Seth, water that quickly turned into a rain of ice shards for the second time. Edited by Sota, Apr 10 2014, 08:38 AM.

Of course he didn't actually use his full strength because he himself knew full well about going all out on top of a very critical structure, all he really needed was to get everyone away from the fountain. Though he really wished he wasn't being taunted by it. "Keh- goddamn you-!" Of course those wasn't just empty taunts seeing as the water being splashed at him that he thought was just to annoy him turned to be dangerous shards of ice! The young man yelped in panic as he threw his hand up to protect his face, but would end up getting cut anyway. "Oh stop that, that's freaking annoying!" If her intention was to rile him up then it worked really well seeing as he landed in the fountain he swung the sword towards !Eris with considerably more force than he did before, the blade tearing through the water surface fast enough to splash up water everywhere and slashing away the shards of ice coming his way as well! |

Luckily the combined efforts of Aya and Heleth seemed to be enough to restrain and weaken the rock snake. Sophia made to follow up their attack with another bash to the cracked head, but caught the sight of something headed her way fast and instead spun out of the way. “Che… You just won’t leave me alone will you!?” The Valkyrie lashed out at incoming goddess with a sweeping slash from her spear, but immediately pulled back as soon as she saw Astaroth approaching with a dangerous look in her eyes. “Looks like someone has a crush on you Eris!” She hoped her little taunt was enough to draw the goddess’s attention away long enough for her to strike down the stone snake attacking Aya and Heleth and hopefully turn the tide with superior numbers. With that in mind she left Eris in Astaroth’s hands and stabbed down at the stone snake, aiming to jam her spear tip into one of the cracks in its body. |

The fires hitting him did little damage to the boy himself, seemingly merely lighting him aflame. His black robe burned away to reveal his original clothes, though they seemed to be...a tad darker, yet lighter. Upon seeing that his fires did little, he tried to move out of the way of the scarf. Didn't go too well. Infact, he ended up tangled in the damn thing, and launched across the sky towards Sophia. As she moved out of the way, she could hear the sound of frustrated annoyance, mumbling inside of the scarf. Once he landed though, he quickly started trying to rip the scarf off, though to little avail. "MPHPHMPH" He yelled, trying to say "GET IT OFF!" |

(OOC: Sorry for the wait) "A child doesn't fail to play with its favourite toy, and I will not be denied my fun as well!" With that strange comparison out of the way, Eris swung her body to try and kick off Sophia's spear, but found herself coming up short when the valkyrie pulled away. At the italian girl's remarks, the goddess turned to find Astaroth coming towards her, chain spinning in hand. "It would seem so... a shame that I'm far out of her league." Eris drew her sword again, giving it a small twirl in her hands, before a sudden, sharp throw was made. The timing and aim of the throw was implausible bordering on the impossible, as when the chain swung down, the tip of the blade sought to fly into one of the links, and then carry on to pin the weapon to the ground. Eris then charged, whether or not this succeeded, and seemingly sought to engage Astaroth on some grounds resembling an equal for the first time. Her fist swung in from the right, to be followed by the back of her leg as she spun to enable the followthrough. But the goddess didn't stop there, as she then shifted her weight backwards to try and flip away, only to charge forward at high speed with a headbutt towards Astaroth's gut. A perfect chance to then try to wrap her arms around the demon's waist, if that had succeeded, and pull her back over their head for a move which... Which... Which rather resembled a belly to belly suplex, as Eris would try to slam Astaroth into the ground behind her. That would probably shake the ground for good measure. |

Astaroth growled, as the weapon threw by Eris broke every physical rule and homed into the rings of her chain, pushing down with innatural strength and carrying Astaroth out of her trajectory. Stupid cheap tricks! The demon let her summoned weapon fade, and Eris's sword darted toward the ground alone. The golden eyes of Astaroth left an enlightened yellow trail as she turned her head toward the goddess: Eris was closing the gap between the two in a blink. The blue demon instinctively reacted to intercept her fist with the left hand, and moved her right arm down to block Eris's leg. Both parries happened safely, as she counterbalanced the superior strength of her opponend by pushing forward as well. Despite that, Astaroth was still pushed back for a full meter, her feets breaking the ground of the road and rising debris and dust. The headbutt though happened so fast she could not react on time. Astaroth's armor cracked and a gasp escaped from her gritted teeths. Her eyes were wide open for the hit, but on her face there was a smile. An extatic, scary wide smile made of pleasure and expectation. A trickle of blood appeared between her teeth. Eris's arm grabbed her waist, and she arched her back, raising the demon from the ground. Astaroth raised her left arm to shield her head, but moved her right to easily get a hold on Eris. The demon of war was pushed into the ground with an impact that could obliterate most living beings with utter ease. Dust and shards of stone erupted in every direction, clouding the sight. --- Sophia's spear gave the final blow to the damaged snake's head, shattering it into pieces. "Yeah!" Aya roared for their victory. Heleth immediately began to retract her hair, and Aya just had the time to see a fireball screaming muttered sounds about to collide with Sophia when a powerful sound came, not far from them. The white haired student had to shield her face as she turned and stopped to stare in surprise. What happened!? --- The impact was certainly brutal, but Astaroth had what she wanted. Eris was there, attached to her. Planted into the terrain head first into the ground, the demon moved. Tearing through the soil, her left arm exited and moved to grab the goddess's head that was just in her grasp, out of the ground and easy to find, as the two were caught in a mortal hug. As soon as her hand could take a grip on it, she'd simply pull Eris into the ground as well. After that, maybe it was time to get out and breathe. --- "Tsk!" the creature that looked like Eris nonchalantly dodged that second, stronger attack Seth sent in her direction. In reality she barely dodged, as the blade cut away part or her hair, but her act had to go on. The severed parts faded into black smoke. "Uuh, you almost made it!" she taunted, an ominous purple light shining under her clothes as her left hand touched the moving waters in the fountain again. "Leraje is a very skilled demon. Let me show you what I just inherited from him" As she smiled like an innocent child, the liquid turned into a tentacular string of polluted ink, trailing behind her hand. The glow of the gem hidden under her clothes turned again into bright blue once again. In a similar fashion than before, the fake Eris threw the black waters toward Seth, having it condense into black, sharp ice shards. Edited by Sota, Apr 22 2014, 12:07 PM.

Poor lady, girl... ...whatever she is, wouldn't know what hit her. If people thought he would be the careful and wary kind, they would be wrong. In fact, the fake Eris' attempt at riling him up, would actually work very, very well. Too well in fact, that she would no sooner than later regret it because... well. Usually being in water would be quite detrimental with melee fighters, you become more sluggish and you can't throw attacks as strong as you would usually be able to. That however, is absolutely not a problem for Seth Ryouga, considering... well, his strength is pretty much inhuman in the first place. Not to mention his incredible durability and extremely high resistance to pain makes him very confident of his own physical capability and in turn makes him very arrogant and stupidly reckless. As is demonstrated, "WILL YOU QUIT IT WITH THAT STUPID TRICK ALREADY?!" Instead of trying to dodge or at least parry the shard of black ice away from him, he just charged forward and letting the shards tear through and past his flesh, though that did not at all stop or even slow him down, with the only thing in his mind is to get to her. And then, without giving a chance for the fake Eris to jump back, and hopefully she would be too startled by his reckless advance to retreat, "THIS IS FOR NOT FIGHTING LIKE A REAL MAN!!!" BOOM!!! A powerful downward slash that tore through the floor and the wall of the fountain itself, the resulting impact from the attack sprayed water and rocks and debris everywhere akin to an actual explosion! ...Should he really be using that much strength fighting so close to something he should be protecting...? |

“Calm yourself Shirena!” As the bumbling fireball wrapped in a scarf approached Sophia lashed out with her spear, cutting the fabric into ribbons. “Heleth! See if you can control him, keep him bound with your hair or something until he regains his senses.” She took a deep breath as she stepped away to let the red demon do her thing. With Eris distracted by Astaroth and the stone snake decommissioned, it finally looked like Sophia would have a moment to figure out what was going on. BOOM!!! … Or not. The explosion like sound tore through the evening air, making Sophia whirl around in alarm. “… That came from the fountain… Seth…!” The Valkyrie had a clear look of worry written all over her features. They had basically left the young man alone to defend the fountain, and as strong as he is, who knows what kind of tricks the demons had up their sleeves? “Aya! Help Astaroth with Eris, I’m going back to the fountain!” Sophia didn’t wait for a response and took off running as soon as she finished speaking. What she saw upon arrival can only be described as a disaster scene. Even with the mist from the water covering everything in a dense veil, the rubble from the fountain was still a good indication that something terrible had happened. Seeing no sign of the young man the Valkyrie called out into the haze. “Seth!! Are you alright!? What happened here!?” |

Shirena was cut free suddenly, much to his surprise. He know he'd probably blow himself up if he tried to use his explosions to break free. Of course, having.clothes thrown at him surprised him even more, upon being cut out, he was dazed, completely confused at what had just happened He sat up for a moment, trying to get his bearings. It became clear that...this wasn't the lake he last remembered... What the hell happened? And what the hell were those black tendrils.... He couldn't remember a single thing past the lake! And now he found himself dazed and confused in the middle of a god damn WARZONE! |

(OOC: Not very good at being regular on this thing, am I...?) There was just one flaw to Astaroth's plan. It presumed that Eris wouldn't be able to get out of something as simple as dirt. And the dirt, somehow, wouldn't be able to aid her. It was absurd, the kind of thing that would make sense only to cartoon caricatures, or perhaps, goddesses who didn't entirely get along with logic or reason. Yet in that moment, dragged down into the soil as she had been, Eris responded by taking to it as if it were water. Her arms shot in front of her, then spread out, reached back to her side, and then went forward again, in a perfect breaststroke. And with it, she rose, because Eris, goddess of discord, was swimming through the soil. Once she reached the surface, her hand grasped for any solid piece of land, and through it, pulled herself up with such strength that she practically flung herself through the air. She flipped, landed, and gave a small twirl, appearing to feel quite proud of herself... Before going about, and picking up her belongings, like a tourist who had seen all the good hotspots. "Where to next then...? I could maybe try sneaking back in under the Bifrost... or perhaps pester some Orishas for a while... Oh! I know! Ukraine." Giggling to herself, within minutes, Eris seemed all packed up and ready to go, and began to take some jaunty steps down the street... |

Green strands of hair quickly surrounded Shirena from behind his back, binding him to the ground before he could even think to react. He was still to dazed and confused to really put up any resistance, as such, Heleth quickly pinned him down. "Don't move, Shirena!" she intimated. Her voice trembled with a note of insecurity. What happened to him when he was kidnapped? What did they do to him to turn him into a Mazikin? ---- Aya approached Astaroth and Eris, only to witness the scene of Eris coming out of the ground like she was dipping in a pool of water, a bit distant from where her brawl with Astaroth was taking place Just a second later, Astaroth erupted out of the ground in a display of sheer force and anger. In contrast to the goddes, she spat out dirt and blood, her hair was dirty and one of her horns was broken. Still, in her golden eyes pure excitement was still visible. Astaroth's eyes, so filled with frenzied pleasure were the most scary detail coming from her. They caused a shiver to run through Aya's body. They were on the same side, for the moment, but that didn't make her any less scary. Like a ravenous beast, Astaroth turned toward Eris, again without words. Yet, the goddess seemed to have lost any interest, and was stepping away. Astaroth esitated. She seemed more than ready to pursue her as she took three heavy breaths. Incredibly enough, the demon of war didn't give into the same silent fury she displayed through her fight. She was crearly exerting control on her instincts. A wide smile appeared between the dark blue lips of the demon. What crossed her mind remained a mystery, but the demon of war simply turned toward the fountain. Just as she did that, on the following second, the booming sound of Seth's reckless attack could be heard. "Damn!" Astaroth roared as she moved out of the debris and attempted to rush forward. Aya too turned toward the fountain. What happened!? ---- Seth's attack was fast, strong, and reckless. It was a thing the fake Eris learned on her own skin. She definitely tried to dodge, but wasn't fast enough. Her flesh and bones were torn. Her left arm flew away, surrounded by a black mist with a small trail of dark red blood, an endless amount of water droplets and shards of broken rock that used to be part of the fountain the group had to protect. An inhuman scream echoed through the walls surrounding the fountain The creature resembling a goddess fell on the floor, drenched with water and blood coming out of the severed shoulder. She rolled on the ground like a puppet a few times, but she irrationally came to her knees, her remaining hand serrated on the injury. A mad laugh, that closely resembled a howl of pain mixed with a victorious cry was spreading from the opened mouth of the fake Eris. "Well done...very well done human!" The shapeshifting creature coughed out some blood. Her arm on the ground was fading in a black trail of smoke rising toward the sky. "I lacked the strenght...to break through the magic barriers of that fountain..." She cought blood one more time. Sophia arrived just in time to hear her shouting: "Your help was unvaluable!" "As a thanks, I'll let you die a painful death, courtesy of Leraje's poison!" With a laugh, the creature turned into smoke, and quickly made a hasty retreat. The withering arm was still there on the ground. All fell silent, except for the sound of the fountain's waters, now flowing through the square and the debris, washing away the shapeshifter's blood. |

...Woah, okay um, he wasn't... he really wasn't expecting to actually dismember her arm completely. He was actually expecting her to give a bit more resistance than that, though he supposed he did... kind of threw a bit more power than he really should have... Seth was so taken aback by his overwhelming victory he stepped back and was actually worried at the writhing demon on what used to be the fountain's floor. "...O-oi, are you okay-...?" His worry unneeded, the young man was caught off guard by the scream that suddenly turned to a mad laugh. For a moment he was confused. After that he realized something really dumb and bad. "...Fount- hey, wait!" Panic started to seep into him as he tried to stop the demon from escaping, but was too late as she quickly disappeared in a column of dissipating black smoke. He wouldn't have even been able to catch her before she disappears anyway though, all of a sudden the young man felt a stinging pain on his chest, dropping onto his knees on the shallow water of the broken fountain with a gasp. Oh... crap, this is some pretty strong poison... A voice spoke in his head as Seth clasped a hand over his chest. "...Y-you can... neutralize it, can't you...?" He replied, seemingly to no one in particular. Yeah of course, though it's gonna take a while... I'm not really familiar with stuff from this world... That was enough for him really. Because in all honesty, he doesn't think he needs to worry about his own health when he's got another, more important thing to really worry about... A pained glance that had nothing at all to do with the poison inside him at the broken fountain. As broken as the remains of the promise and responsibility he failed to keep. Whoops. |
