Open to the people who were at the hospital thread, plus one special guest

Well that was a little bit unexpected but it worked well in her favor. Queen Snow White, otherwise known as Miyuki thought to herself as she fiddled around with the phone in her hand while making her way to the park.

There, messages sent. A bit of a last minute work but it's something.

~Exposition ahoy~

It has been a few days since the unfortunate attack at the hospital incident. It was reported to the media as a monster attack, which, while uncommon, is not exactly out of the ordinary for this city. It helps that they have Lenny's butchered haemonculi to serve as 'evidence' for the attack, claimed to be the unidentified remains of the monster that had been the culprit. In the aftermath of the fight, a prominent member of Metro, E, otherwise known as Izaya whom had been admitted to the hospital due to an 'accident', had seemingly disappeared from the face of the Earth. No traces of him could be found anywhere. His disappearance however, has not been reported to the media.

In any case, a few days later everyone is back to their everyday life, and Queen is back to her mildly entertaining job as the Head of Security for Kues Corporation. All in all it seems like it will be just another day for her, but she's got a new hobby of a sort.

Considering the fact that she had been directly involved with the hospital incident, as in, Izaya had literally attempted murder on her before disappearing, she decided to keep in touch with the one person... or robot, that had been there to witness the whole event. At the same time, she had also been sharing what she had learned with a certain navy-haired gun-totting acquaintance she met in the most odd circumstances she wouldn't discuss here.

From what she could gather anyway, a bunch of people from an internet group decided to play some fighting game over who can take over this city. ...Which just sounds pretty damn strange, she has to admit. But after what she had personally went through she can be certain they are not just some internet wannabe, and are just about as real of a deal as a block of cheese is a block of cheese.

...Why did her brain make that comparison, don't ask.

Well, either way, in just the last thirty minutes she had decided to come up with something. The fair lady had went out of her way to call out everyone that were involved at the hospital attack. She had sent a short message to Eva, also telling her to bring that other girl with her to the park. She also revisited the hospital for the nurse that had been in charge with Izaya during that time, and gave her the same message. She even called for her acquaintance to join in, just to get an equal expert opinion. She doesn't know Lenny though, so it's up to Eva to call him if she wants to.

All that in the span of thirty minutes, admittedly quite impressive.

In any case, she's at the park, waiting.

And waiting.

...And waiting.

Despite having kept in touch with Queen since the hospital incident, Eva did not expect the girl to call her out for a meeting. The gynoid didn't know what Queen wanted to talk about, but seeing how she had been asked to bring Sophia along she deduced that it would be about Metro. Before the fight at the hospital Eva had wished to keep innocents out of harm's way, but things didn't work out that way. Sophia was already ankle deep in this mess since she faced off against the reaper, so the gynoid decided that she may as well bolster their numbers. The more people they had the better their chances after all.

Fortunately Sophia wasn't adverse to joining either, though given her personality and strong sense of justice it was pretty much guaranteed that she would do her best to keep her home safe once she knew what was going on. Eva took full advantage of that fact and brought her here to the park as backup just in case there was another attack like the bomb that landed E in the hospital in the first place, and relayed Queen's invitation to Lenny as well.

The pair found Queen waiting for them rather impatiently in the park and Eva gestured for her to take a seat on a nearby bench while nodding at Sophia who stood nearby to keep an eye out for any suspicious people while the gynoid and Queen talked. "I have brought Sophia as requested." Eva sat down on the other side of the bench. "Am I correct in assuming you wish to discuss the game?"

Amelia stepped out of her house with lots of things on her mind.
With Isao away for another martial arts tournament, and her daughter busy with eudaemons in another city, she had no explainations to give as she closed the door of the house.
She put the keys away in her pocket and sighed.
A puff of air raised in the winter air.

Events in this city really gave a different spin to her life. Her mind ran for a second to Aya, wondering if she was ok. As a mother, the worry for her child was always tingling in the back of her mind, even if her daughter's abilities allowed her to be flung through a wall and survive with all her bones intact.

It was something involving a mis-teleportation that reacted with Aya's altered metabolism, allowing her to become resistant to damage when accellerated.
Amelia had nothing like that, but, as a fervant researcher, she wondered if there was a remote chance to develop that effect through normal metabolism alteration.

After the assault at the train station by a nameless woman looking to see courage, she was tormented by her frailty and low resistance to pain.
The wind blades severed her arm with a perfect, surgical cut. She could feel the pain simply recalling it.
She stared at her hand, perfectly healed. Not a scar, nor the smallest scratch.
Despite her impressive healing powers, she still was frail normal human.

Amelia took a deep breath and crossed the road, walking inside Izanai Park.
She wore a long, black and heavy coat that hid all her clothes. With her hands in her pockets her silver hair was like a bright waterfall waving as she was walking forward.

She and Aya discussed about what happened in the hospital. She never saw that worried look in Aya's eyes before. It probably was the same look she gave her when they talked about eudaemons the first time.
What a curious exchange of roles they had. To see Aya worried and asking her to stop caring about the events in the hospital was heartwarming.

She closed her eyes for a second, smiling. She was a lucky woman, with a good daughter. Aya grew up as a selfless person, that always put others before herself and always wanted to know. Amelia was proud of her.

The doctor turned on the right at the first crossroad of the park, walking behind a trail of trees.
Not too far from her, she could see three feminine figures near a bench, talking.
She could still go back, and listen to her daughter's words.
Too bad Amelia did want to know.
Like mother, like daughter.

"Good morning." she simply said as she approached the others.

Log: The trials seem to have been going well, adaptations have been made to the new haemonculi, currently under name Tar. The only problem currently is creating a sensitive enough feedback loop or barrier in the creature to keep itself from killing itself in phenol. There isn’t really any phenol-phobic cell designs out there but I think it shouldn't be hard to come up with a protein that can bind to the cell barrier. After that they should be added to the bestiary, luckily this is final stage prototyping so everything should be going well

Lenny looked at the partially deformed creature on his desk, this was the 19th of its gene line to be created, though it had taken the longest to die. Lenny, true to his word, had almost finished making a haemonculi to counter E’s defensive mechanisms that he had seen that while of time ago. Lenny’s recent embarrassment at the hospital had inspired him deeper into his research. Eager for a bit of rest he was surprised when he received E.V.A’s message. pinching his forehead he pinched his forehead and sat back into his chair, willing his consciousness to his haemonculi in the woods.

Out of a nearby patch of woods two of his haemonculi stalked out, a pointed nose armadillo riding on the spiny back of a tiger beast. Lenny was not going to break his practice of never showing up in person, which was why the armadillo seemed to be clutching a walkie talkie in its diminutive, human hands. The Hunter haemonculi, a feline of impressive muscle and grace, sauntered up near EVA like a lion entering its den. Neither creature made much sound.

Robyn barely managed to strap on her holsters before walking out of her apartment, buckling with one hand and locking her door with the other. The recent ongoings in the city were somewhat atypical, and given her indirect involvement, she was more than keen to figure out what was going on. Monsters may seem to attack at least once a week, but she couldn’t remember the last time someone walked into a hospital wanting to kill everyone. Even for Hyakuji, that was dark.

She’d been following everything as closely as she could, and while she got the mass message about some kind of game, she learned about the incident at the hospital after everything was already said and done. She tried to do her own research, but not having any real names to follow (aside from maybe this Anubis character) made that near impossible. The fact that some crazy-powerful guy was trying to dabble in people’s lives was concerning; not that she was unfamiliar with such people. No one was going to take over the city willy nilly like it was some sort of friendly competition. She didn’t exactly play well with people trying to control her life.

Either way, you’ve been following along. No reason to do an entire mental recap of all the effed-up nonsense that has occurred in the recent past.

Needless to say, she was glad Queen (or “Pants” as she’s taken to calling her as per their first encounter) was giving her an in for information. And now she was gonna get some damn answers, and hopefully in a less “aloof” manner like this woman seemed prone to.

The snow crunched under her feet while she walked expeditiously to the park, hair pulled up into her typical ponytail, and relying on her curiosity, need for action, and very minor rage of indignation to keep her warm where her coat failed her. It wasn’t long before she spotted the white-haired woman, surrounded by a small group of people.

Oh God. What was THAT…an armadillo?

Pants sure kept some strange company. Not that that surprised Robyn. Although it was maybe a bit annoying that she was never spared having to deal with abnormal situations.

She approached the group with her hands in her coat pockets, giving the lot a onceover quick assessment. She couldn’t be sure what their history or intentions were, so until they proved otherwise, she would be on her guard. One thing was for sure, that she was here for a purpose, not small talk, so her presence was “greeting” enough for her. Queen should have gathered over the time of their dual-acknowledgement (since Robyn wouldn't call it a relationship) that the fact that she arrived at all was confirmation of her interest.

Just in case, she made sure to put her "business face" on. Go on, try some nonsensical BS, see what happens. Don't let that skirt fool you.

...Yep, this is definitely an odd group. There's a freaking... tiger or something with an odd looking armored rat riding it.

And she probably should have expected this, but a group where no one actually knows each other makes this meeting painfully awkward, especially when no one seem to want to say anything to start with. Not that she could expect much to come out of Robyn, who honestly looked like she'd rather be somewhere else than here (which makes her look a bit scary). At the very least the nurse was polite enough to greet them, the fair lady giving a smiling nod of acknowledgement to her, and thank god that robot girl chose to open the conversation with something related. "Well... in a way, yes, but I'd rather not refer it as that if you don't mind," She replied to her, hopefully her point gets across.

But anyhow, let's get some things straightened out first. "Right, I thank you all for coming, ...good god if that doesn't sound rehearsed I don't know what, why don't we start with introduction first!" She figured it's best if she does the whole introduction thing here, besides Amelia no one here seemed to be in the mood for light-hearted talk... "This is Robyn, someone I'd met a while back whom I'd really wish to stop calling me Pants..." She gestured towards the one with the navy ponytail. "Good nurse Amelia who works at the hospital," She nodded again to the nurse, "And little miss robot girl Eva with her friend, um... Sophie? ...And pets. I guess,"

Hopefully that didn't sound too awkward. They say the first step to loving is to know each other, just hope the ice isn't too hard to break. After all, considering today's topic of discussion... "Anyhow... I'm sure you all know what we- I called you all here for," She asked, her light tone dropped slightly as she began touching on what's important. She wants to reaffirm that they at the very least know what's going on. "Now, I can't say I know exactly everything that's going on... I'm about as new to this, 'game' thing as some of you are," Hey, it's true she only got to know about it just a few days ago, she wants some answers herself. Though she supposed for some people just knowing about this 'game' is enough to get them to take action.

"Now, what I've told everyone is about the best I could gather all by myself. So chances are, I won't be able to answer every questions everyone might have, if not any at all," Well, that would be a declaration of disappointment for some people, considering they're only here to get some answers. "But! I'll take questions anyway, if anyone has them, before I start?"

...Oh, she hasn't started yet?

"Yes it's Sophia. I'm just as in the dark about this as you are, if not more, so don't worry about that Queen." The girl nodded in acknowledgment when Queen introduced the group and stated her purpose. "What's important is that we pool our resources to stop this madness from happening, so I appreciate you calling a meeting like this."

"The ones you refer to as pets are the followers of an ally by the name of Lenny. He will be observing today's events through them." Eva gave Queen a cursory glance, but was otherwise, for the most part, unimpressed by her speech. She did object to calling this a game though, so that was a plus in the gyonid's book. "Allow me to start. How much do you know and how did you learn about them?" Was she being suspicious of Queen? Absolutely. For someone who had barely joined in the Metro events to call a meeting and offering to answer questions about the game wad highly irregular. At best Queen's answers will give Eva more possibilities to explore and at worst it will given the gynoid more insight on what kind of person she was, so she really can't lose.

She turned her attention to Amelia and Robyn. "I know from experience that this is not something to be entered lightly. Serious injury and loss of life are entirely possible, so if you are not fully prepared for that I suggest you leave before it is too late." Eva knew nothing about the two, so until proven otherwise they will be civilians that needed to be protected in her eyes. In other words, a burden.

Amelia simply breathed heavily, hearing herself being addressed as nurse, but there was no point in underlining the fact that she was a doctor.
She stared at EVA, the one Queen said she was a robot girl. A robot. Amelia took mental note of that, unable to hide her interest. Hyakuji certainly did reserve always a new surprise.
As absurd as her mind could contemplate the idea of a humanoid machine acting like a human, she knew this place enough to accept it. Just a normal thing in the place where abnormalities are a norm, after all.
Amelia's blue eyes ran on the 'pets'. What purpose did they have? The two animal were so out of place, one atop the other in a impossible combination in nature...

Just like her mind was read by EVA, the robot girl proceeded to explain the pets role on the scene. The metabolist frowned. Unseen allies were a source of concern for her.

Eva went on, and asked the simplest and widest question available to all, relieving her of the task. As such, she calmly brought her attention to Queen as Eva suggested her, and the girl that wasn't with them at the hospital, to leave.
Amelia smiled a little, registering the warning but clearly ignoring it. The smile widened a little more when she realized where Aya inherited her silent stubborness.

Lenny was glad at the mentioning of names, he prefered to know who his new allies were, though he wasn’t sure whether considering them allies was actually a good idea yet. He had yet to see any of them do anything really meaningful in Metro, and for now it would be easy for him to assume they were relatively untested, familiar with it on the level of ideas, but unassociated with the more dangerous and risky elements of it. He reflected once again on how glad he was to have such an accessible cloak to hide behind.

That might explain why Lenny’s haemonculi showed irked signs of aggression when E.V.A mentioned his name. Doesn’t she understand why I don’t show up to these things! Not knowing who I am is the whole point Was she irritated with his shadowed antics? He didn’t know but frankly he didn’t like being known.

A crackle sounded from the two way radio the small armadillo haemonculi was holding. “Who are the major players and what are their names, where are they located?” Lenny seemed to be far less interested in vetting Queen’s credentials than in finding who he needed to hunt and how to deliver his vengeance. E had a prominent position on that list, Lenny was unsure of whether he should use his sisters as collateral, but the people he had seen in the alley and Miss Doss had their own spots as well.

Questions? Was there other information she was holding back, neglecting to mention it in the first place? And since when did she become the Metro spokesperson? Robyn felt a twinge of suspicion in the back of her mind. Maybe the reason she was sent after her in the first place was because she knew too much. One way or another, she was going to get to the bottom of this, and the party on the short end of the stick would have to answer.

She mentally noted everyone’s name, pairing them with faces to negate complications with miscommunication. It was interesting to hear everyone’s background, mostly because it was quite a range of occupations, including a robot who did not appear to have a sense of humor. Strangely, that would likely be the “person” she would relate to the most; those are the types you don’t have to worry about screwing things up in the heat of battle. Likewise, she smiled curtly at Eva at the mention of “potential danger.” Of course, the incapable civilian was generally more common than the opposite, but fortunately she fell into the latter category.

“I’m well aware, and I’ll manage. Thanks.”

The major questions were already asked, the ones she was most interested in being “who” and “where.” But sometimes explanations weren’t quite enough, so she supplemented with a caveat that extended beyond the overall mission of Metro.

“And visuals of known participants, along with their capabilities, beyond what people saw at the hospital.”

In this kind of situation, it was best to know what they were up against. Who knows, if she’s supposedly holding out all this information, maybe she has a handy dandy Metro Identity App with photos of everyone involved. Given this motley crew, just about anything seemed possible.

Hum... Looks like she just got herself a full set of no-nonsense and straight to the point people, apparently. Not that she's complaining or anything, but this does make everything a whole lot more straightforward, if not a bit boring.

...Did she just said it'd be boring?

No she didn't, don't be silly. She did however gave each of them a little nod as all of them gave their inquiry. And then, "Well, you heard them don't you? Give 'em what they want and I'll probably consider it~"

...Who is she talking to?

"At the very least get me out of your pocket dammit! They can't hear me from here!"

"Oh- whoops! Sorry sorry~"

Uh...

Oh, okay, she's taking out her phone. ...Apparently her phone just spoke. Which is a silly thought considering how someone could just put the phone on loudspeaker while in a call. ...Was she in a call earlier? In any case, as the fair lady held up the phone in front of her, "Oi, come closer! This crappy phone doesn't have that good of a speaker,"

...Whomever is at the other side of the call, she is apparently pretty bossy. True to the person's word though, the voice that came out of the speaker was slightly messed up making it hard to pinpoint the owner of the voice, if they could actually do so in the first place. However it would be quite easy to tell that the voice belonged to a female.

...So let's get some things straight. Queen (or Miyuki if you'd rather call her that) called all of them here so they could have a discussion with someone else on a phone. ...So why couldn't she just bring that person here in the first place? "Sorry if this is inconvenient, but she's really shy about meeting in person and she fizzles in the sunlight,"

Not sure if being serious or joking, but probably the latter with that chuckle. Ignoring the irritated retort being spewed from the phone by lowering the call volume, the fair lady said, "Some of you probably know her already, even if only by text," A little wave of the phone. "But to those who doesn't, meet Miss DOS. She's one of the many members of Metro I could get in contact with. Unfortunately I am not obliged to mention her real name because of our... agreement~"

Why that sly grin. Even if it's faint, the others could hear the irritated tongue clicking of the person at the other side of the phone, before she actually continued talking. "...Yeah yeah, it's me, Miss- oh dammit, why does calling yourself your own nickname feel so awkward... YES THIS IS MISS DOS! AND I'VE BEEN BLACKMAILED BY THIS... this... WOMAN! To give you... urgh... cooperation..."

What followed was nothing more than incoherent mumbles and cursing that could only be registered as static from the phone. Queen took this as a chance to speak and explain the situation by herself. "Most of you remember that Izaya guy from the hospital? He disappeared, didn't he? And no one could find him anywhere since then," And for some odd reason, the person behind the call, Miss DOS, fell silent at Queen's words- "And that's how I met this girl here, she came running to me crying for help like a cute little girl who lost her toy~! Awwhh, she was really cute too~!"

...Erm...? I'm... not sure if that's something she should be laughing or getting giddy about though... If anything everyone should be completely silent in bafflement at how lightly she's taking the situation, if not snapping and raising their voice at her.

Regardless... why is Miss DOS all silent now...? "...Oh what, she hung up...?" I WONDER WHY. It's incredible enough that Queen seemed confused like she really doesn't have any idea why anyone couldn't get her idea of teasing. Though it didn't take long for the phone to ring, the fair lady didn't waste any time answeri-

"-OU CHEATING COW I DID NOT CRY SHUTUPSHUTUP I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T SAY IT YOU DIRTY LIAR YOU-!!!"

And it wasn't even on speaker mode! The sheer amount of rage and hatred and embarrassment could be felt even through the voice roaring out of the phone speaker, so much so Queen had to hold the phone away at arm's length just so she wouldn't be deaf. Thank god there's a mute button, at least she could yell back to get her point across without being interrupted! "Okay I get it I'm sorry! now could you please stop shouting so much so we could get this over with?!"

Well, the fact that she turned off the mute without any further yelling probably proved that Miss DOS got her composure back. You could still hear the ragged indignant breathing coming from the phone speaker though. Queen apparently learned her lesson as she didn't dare try to tease the girl through the phone again. Instead, she dropped all silliness aside and put on one of her more serious mask. "Well anyway... I should probably start from here. Miss DOS is, uh. Jeez, what's it called... she's one of those psychic people. Though leaning more towards... tech stuff or something, I dunno. Don't ask me how, but I'm sure you guys know what that means, hopefully," It's a bit hard for her to explain on the workings of other people's power, considering she herself is a bit of an outsider to those realms.

Regardless, "From what she told me, she had been the main source of information for Metro since she joined," Queen said, motioning the phone around where Miss DOS had been keeping quiet for the most part. "Considering how almost everything in this world are connected by technology, it's possible for her to be able to get her hands on any information around the whole globe, whenever and however she wants,"

There was actually a slight huff of amusement coming from the phone, plus a very faint speak that sounded much like "Kiss ass," Not that anyone would be able to hear it, not normally anyway. However, with Queen's following silence, it prompted Miss DOS to to realize that she was supposed to be doing the talking now. "O-oh, right right... kuh..."

"Remember, don't hide anything~"

"I get it, why don't you just shut up!"

Cranky. She keeps her words however, as it wasn't sooner or later when each of them would receive a message or a file on their respective communication devices, be it by phone, their own in-built communication system or something equally advanced and wearable.

You have received a message!

Anubis
a.k.a. Christopher Bane/William/fuck idunno what other names he uses off the top of my head. Really wealthy guy who owns a big... company up in the USA. Pharoh, I think was it's name (snobbish name if you ask me lol, naming your company after the title of a god). What they do... god I don't know, I don't care much for these silly company stuff... But they're working along the line of DARPA, is the closest analogy I could think of. you know, advanced technological development and stuff for the military, biomedical engineering and advanced AIs, I dunno, you get the gist of it. That's only what is advertised though, what he never tells the public is that his company also deals with ancient magic and occult crap and stuff. These stuff dont get out to the public much... which brings us to his other side.

some of you guys might have already known, but his main customers have never been from the public world. most of what he makes gets sold to the black market, underground business and shit. 'Anubis', is what he calls himself, is a very prominent name amongst those shady folks. he's got enough influence to make not just his own gang, but rally up a few others to make some sort of underground alliance of a sort. Oh you gotta laugh at this, he calls it 'The Underground Organization' too, lol

...don't actually laugh, he can be pretty scary. actually you can laugh, he's got a nice sense of humor.

Byakuran
a.k.a. Kida Kagura. little shite is really no more than your regular street punk wanting to make it big. he's the one who proposed to Anubis on having a big gang war over hyakuji after he got himself some little friends.

Rabenschwarz
Now this one terrifies me. You know that big game company that literally just popped out of nowhere and started spreading their business around like some nasty pest? their rate of expansion is nothing short of scary, and even more so the CEO. She's got a painfully long name which I'll just shorten to uh. Bernkastel-Kues, who also goes by Rabenshwarz on Metro. As innocent as it is on its front, the branch companies are much less so. Partly because... well. Honestly, everyhting that's related to that company, you'd very likely to find a very long and deep history and relation with the underground business. Even more so with the CEO, her history apparently goes further than modern day records...? urgh, just be careful of her... She's the one that incited this whole mess of a... well it used to be a game, but not anymore. Honestly, this hwole thing is a mess...

'Reaper'
That chick who attacked you guys at the hospital... honestly i couldn't find any record of her anywhere at all. I dunno, i cant find something if its not recorded at least SOMEWHERE i can get with my powers...

This is probably an odd advice, but you're better off watching out for her scythe more than the chick herself. ...Did I mention something about Anubis dealing with ancient magic shit...? Oh I did, nvm then. ...figure it out yourself thank you very much.

Whether everyone had finished reading or are still doing so, the Queen has something to add. "For that earlier question, I'm actually working under Rabenschwarz. That's really how I got informed. The Head of Security has to know everything happening under her~"

...Doesn't that just mean you bugged all of Kues' private stuff...?

Well, it didn't matter either way. After a moment the voice from the phone spoke yet again, with a tone of finality as though hoping to end this discussion as quickly as possible. "Well, you've already got everything, major players and their backgrounds too. Even their real names, I really should get banned from Metro for that even though that rule hasn't been enforced since forever... I tried to simplify things so you guys don't have to rake your brains so much so be grateful-"

"Ho~old on a minute, we're not done yet~" Queen suddenly spoke up and interrupted Miss DOS, the sly grin was now back on her face. Which admittedly looks odd considering she's talking to someone on a phone. "You missed one person,"

There was nothing but silence that followed. But in that silence, you could feel the seething hatred slowly seeping from the phone, it was incredible she could still hold the device in her hand. "...Fine," Miss DOS spoke curtly. Then everyone would receive another message...

You have a new message!

From: Anonymous
Subject: asdf

E/Izaya
regular guy with a regular life. parents were gone when he was a teenager, leaving him to take care of his two sisters. lived in ikebukuro before moving here. dropped out of college.

...The message would be surprisingly short to anyone who had been hoping to learn more of the Metro member whom disappeared without a trace. Even to Queen herself from the looks of her expression. She had clearly been expecting a bit more story to the guy who... well, STABBED HER and STOLE HER PRECIOUS RELIC OF A KNIFE. "...Oi, you sure this is all there is to that guy...?" Needless to say, she wasn't impressed, and she definitely wasn't satisfied. When her inquiry was returned with no actual answer, she started to become slightly annoyed. "...Really, I did say you are to reveal everything, don't I?" She continued, sounding quite exasperated, though probably emphasizing it more to let the person at the other side of the call hear than actual exasperation. "Yeeaah, if we don't get to know everything, we really can't help you find-"

"WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT UP ON SHIT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT?!"

Another sudden outburst from Miss DOS, but it was far from her outburst from earlier. This time her tone sounded painful, every words laced with anger so strong that Queen actually yelped in surprise and dropped the phone to the ground. That did not stop Miss DOS's voice from roaring out deafeningly through the speaker. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HIM?! HASN'T HE TOLD YOU THE SAME THING TOO, OVER AND OVER AGAIN?! HE'S NOT SPECIAL, HE'S JUST IZAYA! HE DOESN'T- HE WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS STUPID WAR GAME! IF IT WASN'T FOR HIM CALLING YOU GUYS OUT TO WARN YOU ABOUT THIS CRAP IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU GUYS WOULDN'T EVEN BE HERE HAVING SOME STUPID MEETING! YOU KNOW WHAT, FUCK YOU GUYS, I CAN FIND HIM MYSELF!!!"

...Beep... beep... beep...

...Someone sure has quite the temper. It would be quite a lie to say that Queen wasn't taken aback by it, and she was taking her time recovering from the little shock. When she did, the fair lady gave a small sigh, bending to pick up the phone and pat away the dust. "...Well, she's no longer of any use anyway," She said, her tone not at all betraying the very slightly dejected feeling inside. Was she really that upset...?

But in any case. "Now, you've been given more information than you could hope to obtain no matter how long you decide to investigate. Probably more than any regular person would want or dare to be responsible for," She said, putting on her business and no-nonsense front. "Each one of you came here out of your own volition, with your own reasons. I should probably stress, for some of you even more so," She gave a half-glance to Amelia, Sophia and Robyn. "The moment you get knee-deep into this, you'll be in for something much, much worse. Robyn, you wanted answers, I hope what was given satisfied you. Sophia and Amelia, I brought you two here without prior notice, you're free to leave now if you don't wish to get involved any further. Eva and... her pet Lenny... well. Anyway, you two..." She paused slightly, before giving a sigh. "...You guys are young. I have no rights to force you two to do anything, but... it's still not too late to back off if you want to,"

"What do you want to do now?"

That was a quite detailed list of people.

Amelia raised her head and stared at the sky. A plane was like a tiny insect flying away, leaving a white trail behind.

Advanced technological development. Two large companies. Some idiots and psychos playing for them.
With the blue eyes staring at the same color above, Amelia's thoughts ran back at that fantascientific scythe that girl had, and at her fleshless, dislodged mandible.
She put it back in place, and flesh literally regrew on it in seconds.

Were they using the city as a testing ground, hiding everything behind a game between psychotic idiots? What would they gain from testing here? That was obvious under many aspects. This was Hyakuji. A place filled to the brim with superhumans and the like.
A perfect testing ground for weapons.

"Heh" she said, turning toward the city, and giving her back to all the others.
Was she going to leave?

"Maybe the authorities should be warned about this game. Seems like there are enough details to cause quite a commotion at international level."
She removed her right hand from her coat and pulled removed her glasses. She stared at them. They were clean, no signs or fingertips on their lenses.
She put them back on, pushing them up her nose.
"But I'm pretty sure it won't be that easy, right?"
A small pause and a sigh.
"I like my work, but I don't want to see the hospital filled with injured innocent people. I certainly can't leave them use this place as a playground."

Ah… that explains quite a bit, but it was sort of disconcerting. If Miss DOS had went to Queen, someone previously completely unaffiliated to the whole game, for help, something serious must have come up. Not to mention the fact she gave up this information so easily too. She said blackmail, but Miss DOS didn’t strike Eva as the type to be threatened easily. The gynoid would have liked to ask her more questions, but she had already hung up. At least she left some useful data before she left.

Eva took a moment to sort through the data and add them to her database, also adding a few points to Queen and Miss DOS as well. The one known as Anubis caught her attention immediately, primarily because of his connections to DARPA. Considering his developments in AI and occult matters, it’s possible that he had a hand in ERIS’s development, or even her own. She made a mental note to hack into Pharoh and ‘The Underground Organization’ sometime to clear things up.

Then there was the ‘Reaper’. The brief encounter they had in the hospital made it more than clear to Eva that the scythe was a very dangerous foe. Living weapons were one thing, but it seemed to be completely different, even saying that she had a soul… The gynoid put the thought out of her mind. It was clear that the scythe was more than just a computer built onto a weapon, that was enough for now.

Once that was said and done she returned her attention to their little mismatch group. “Lenny is not my pet or anything of the sort, he is a valuable asset to our efforts.” …Maybe she should have worded it better, but what she means is that he is an ally and should be treated as such. Queen seemed to have misunderstood though, and may have thought that “Lenny” was the name of the haemonculi with Eva, so his identity should be safe. “I recommend we start with Byakuran and interrogate him. Considering he is the one who recommended this game it is likely that has other plans as well. If his personality profile matches that of typical gangsters, tracking him down should be relatively easy. I would also prefer if we were able to maintain a watch on the others, but given their status it would be difficult to do so. However,” She turned her eyes on Queen. “Given your position I think you will be able to assist us with Rabenschwarz. There is one thing that you should be aware of, Rabenschwarz is also known as Amane Shinomiya, the student council president of Hyakuji High.” Even if Queen knew this already, it was important that the others were aware of it as well.

Upon hearing this Sophia gave Eva a sharp look of surprise. The Valkyrie was a student council member, but not once did she see Amane behave rashly like the profile from Miss DOS would suggest. “I do not know if ‘Amane’ is a front for Bernkastel-Kues or if the reverse is true. Whatever the case, we need to keep an eye on her activities in school as well.”

“I’ll do it.” Sophia suddenly spoke up. “Being part of the student council means I’m perfect for the job.” She definitely had her reservations about this, but if this was as serious as it seems, something must be done and she will definitely play her part. “Aside from that I will provide back-up in case we run into more trouble.”

“Very well then. I will continue to search the city for Izaya, ‘Reaper’, and Byakuran with Lenny’s assistance should he choose to stay in the game. I will also be conducting investigations on Anubis’s operations and hopefully uncover some useful intelligence. In that respect I am requesting your help Amelia.” The nurse had stated she would help right? She did say that she wouldn’t let them use Hyakuji as a playground. “With your connections in the hospital it is possible that you can acquire information on Pharoh’s biomedical engineering developments. Aside from that it is also likely that the hospital will see its share of victims of gang violence, perhaps some of them will have information on Byakuran, ‘Reaper’, or Izaya. If anything turns up, please let us know.”

And finally the unfamiliar face, Robyn. The girl had said she was aware of the risks involved and was prepared for them, so Eva took that to mean she was going to help them in these games. “I am unaware of your background and your capabilities, so I will leave the decision of how to proceed up to you. If you’re willing, please give me an overview of your abilities so I may update our team data accordingly.”

…Wait, who made her leader?

OOC: Sujin if you decide to give Eva Robyn’s info you can just say so and I’ll look it up from her profile. That way you won’t have to type it out XD

HER!! Luckily for Lenny his degree of separation from the current events hid his surprise. But Her!? Something was up here, it the loyalties were too massively shifted and to him this was like the cobra lying with the mongoose. He didn’t like this, but he was at the same time glad. He had some quarry, he had names, he had people. It signaled a change to him, he could hunt now, he could do more than simply react.

But for now he would maintain his alliance with EVA. As she explained Lenny’s voice crackled through the comm his haemonculi was holding. “I agree with the course, but if I am to hunt I’m playing with everything I can. It won’t be pretty, and I won’t hold back. It is best to start at the bottom, but once he’s snared I don’t want him to be able to snitch” To him the problem with starting with the lowly gangster was he could tell those above him if anything went wrong. “But I am more than willing to spearhead any hunt” his voice sounded too eager, but determined. “This will be an endeavour of all of us, but I fear success will only come if we are willing to do what we must” An easy enough sentiment for Lenny, the contestant with the least skin in the game.

Dangerously Cheesy.
Robyn found herself struggling to maintain her composure with the voice on the phone constantly flying off the handle. It was clear the speaker was having some challenges on the maturity front, telling her that she was either young or under some sort of duress. This “Anubis”s company ties dealing with military-grade weaponry and the like set off a red flag with her. Any time she heard about under-the-table dealings in that industry she immediately suspected her “Alma Mater” Cerebrea could potentially be involved. And that truly was cause for concern. Maybe she would have to see if any of her old reliable contacts (the few that remained) knew anything about this company.

Interestingly enough, after the last message she received with the lackluster information on E, paired with the stranger’s defense, a small piece of the puzzle made sense.

DOS was clearly hiding information to protect this E person, since she was likely emotionally invested in his well-being. Volunteering information that showed him as dangerous, even if she supposedly blackmailed into telling the truth and was in complete denial of known facts, obviously put that end goal at risk. Her emotionally-charged outbursts made it all but obvious to Robyn. And a person possibly in love with the enemy made her an unreliable source. Love was fickle and made people irrational.

Then again, she could be completely wrong. But she’d stick with her theory until proven otherwise.

Robyn glanced up from the screen of her phone amidst re-reading the messages over again, addressing Eva’s inquiry. She couldn’t see any good reason to withhold her abilities from the group. None of them struck her as someone who would try to take the information and use it to create some sort of counter-force specifically targeted at her. There was no previous negative rapport to worry about between her and any of these people.

Well. Not any that she was aware of. Hopefully they weren’t distant relatives of anyone she had off’d in the past. That’d prove complicating.

“Sure. But I’d appreciate some candor on the information. It’s not exactly public knowledge.”

With that she gave a brief run-down of her abilities, including a (very) brief summary of her “prior work experience” (trying to put it in more PC terms so they didn’t feel the need to turn her in to the cops) as well as the fact that she was a Senior member of the local Bracer Guild chapter. That information was open source anyway. She would also give her her contact information (which was pretty much limited to a cell phone number) if she wanted it.

“You'll want me for any infiltration, or jobs that need to be done quickly and quietly. Before my previous employer closed up shop, I was their ‘last resort cleaner’ of sorts. If that’s any indication." It was obvious that she took her skills and work very seriously, and wanted to make it known that she did consider herself an expert in such things. She also made a point to maintain a high level of composure and maturity, which paired nicely with the gravity of the situation. "Whatever is decided, keep your actions low-key. We can't risk any of the key players getting suspicious and changing their game.”

“It looks like our job is prevention in the short-term, and elimination in long-term. We’ll need to keep the big picture in mind in case any of us run into difficult decisions down the road.”

She didn’t think that needed much elaboration. Despite the fact that most of the group appeared quite young, she couldn’t be sure what their background was. But if they were there, chances were good they weren’t completely obtuse.
