Now, he know he has seen this building plenty of times, he even stopped by here to pick up someone. In a sense. But this is actually the first time he had been inside the building itself. Words are just not enough. His mouth was just open in silent awe... for a bit too long until someone gave him a sharp rap on the back of his head. "Ow, what the heck...?!" Seth Ryouga hissed in annoyance as he turned around to glare at the man accompanying him... "You shouldn't let your mouth hang open like that, insects would fly in," ...Or rather, he's accompanying the man. ~Let's start from the top~ It has been a few days since the hospital incident. It was reported to the media as a monster attack, which, while uncommon, is not exactly out of the ordinary for this city. It helps that they have Lenny's butchered haemonculi to serve as 'evidence' for the attack, claimed to be the unidentified remains of the monster that had been the culprit. But that's all in the past and people had already moved on with their life. In the aftermath of the fight, E, otherwise known as Izaya, had seemingly disappeared from the face of the Earth. No traces of him could be found anywhere. His disappearance however, has not been reported to the media. His twin sisters that had been left behind were taken back to their home by Seth himself, and he had been taking care of them ever since. Oddly enough, he could find no sign of their parents whatsoever. And today, just about an hour ago, he received a message from one person he didn't expect to receive from.
It was... odd, to Seth. Admittedly, despite having talked to him fairly often in the presence of the other Metro members in the Metro chatroom, this is the first time he had sent a private message. And to be quite honest, Anubis does not seem like the type who would be involved with just anyone at a personal level. It was a situation that feels so out of place to him, he couldn't help but agree out of curiosity. Fast forward to the present, here they are at Kues Corporation building. Even though he had been working as Selene's butler for a pretty long time, he could never get used being at a place where all these high-class people gather. Even in his now trademark black suit he still feels out of place, even more so when he's standing right next to... ![]() ...this man. It is incredibly unnerving to say the least. Putting aside the questionable military-ish outfit that doesn't seem like it's from this era, he is carrying himself with an air of dignity and pride that made it seem like he's the owner of this whole establishment. His steps and moves were rigid, his posture straight and disciplined, it was like he wasted absolutely nothing to make him seem like a man of great importance. That's not even talking about his oddly ghostly pale complexion... ...Seriously, he doesn't think much of him, but now that he's seen him in person, he's... actually pretty intimidating. "Are you sure about this?" The young butler suddenly asked, letting his eyes wander around the lobby where the many workers went on with their jobs. "I mean she's not exactly... well," He trailed off, not exactly sure how much he should say about the real nature of the head of this company, or if he should even say anything at all. But then, "Oh of course I am," The man said with a deep chuckle. "I do not make business with something if I know I am going to lose," ...He probably misheard that, but did he just... really, 'something'...? That's a strange choice of word that he will never be able to get off his mind, even when they're suddenly greeted by- "...Eh? Butler kid?" Actually never mind, it got off his mind. But only because he was met with a second surprise of the day. "Wh- you... white lady?" Okay probably not the best temporary nickname as he soon found out by the slight frown that appeared on her face, but... really, he couldn't call her anything else since he doesn't know her name. And secondly, look at her, her hair is white, her skin is... well, kinda fair, shes wears white shirt, how is she not- "I am here for an appointment with Madame Kues," Never mind all attention directed back to the man. "The name is Wilhelm Eisenberg, if you require confirmation," He said purposefully, as though expecting the fair lady to actually ask for confirmation from him. She stared at him with narrowed eyes, as though inspecting him from his words to his- "Yeah sure, whatever, her office is at the top floor. Don't be making a lady wait," ...Huh? ...Hold on, seriously, just like that? Wait, you're not going to check at the computer or something to see if he's just lying or not, he's meeting the CEO for crud's sake...! "I'm pretty busy right now so I don't really have the time to entertain guests," Seth was continually appalled as she just went and walked past them and out of the building without even a backward glance. ...Seriously, is the security here really that lax...? "Well, come now Victor. Just as she said, wise not to keep a lady waiting," Equally surprising is how he could actually just accept that like it's standard procedure, and immediately went for the elevator like it was the most normal thing ever. He would be in for an even more surprise when they actually reached the top floor, 'Wilhelm' was leading the way around the slightly maze-like corridor as though he was incredibly familiar with it... Until he stopped at a double door did Seth choose to ask. "You could've just said you've been here before..." He said, feeling a bit silly that he didn't figure it out earlier. "You never asked," The man said with another deep chuckle, before raising his hand and rapped sharply on the door. |

The GENCOM Corporation, as the move to the new office buildings began, there was less and less staff, making it a lot easier to navigate through what was once a bustling building. Of course, there were still quite a number of staff, however, nowhere near what it had been in the past. Needless to say, the top floor, where Kues's office was located was practically empty besides Kues. After all, anyone else important enough to have a room on the top floor were far too busy dealing with the sudden transformation of the corporations. Of course, that made it a lot easier for Anubis and Seth to reach Kues's office, where Kues was sitting at her desk, along with a young blonde girl standing next to her in a business suit. "Go head and come in~ We've been waiting~☆" Once Anubis and Seth had let themselves in, Sun-hwa gave a formal bow to the pair as they entered the room. Kues, on the other hand, simply remained seated. Of course, that was probably expected of Kues. After all, she was renown for her formality. The opposite would perhaps be more true. On the other side of Kues's desk were conveniently two chairs for the pair to sit on. "So you decided to bring Seth along for the discussion~ It's a good thing I decided to bring Sun-hwa along then~☆" "Allow me to request that we keep this meeting straight and to the point." Clearly someone was disapproving of Kues bringing in small talk, but then again, that is probably what a lot of company presidents are like. Kues just happens to be one of the rare CEOs who has too much time on her hands. Mainly because she delegates every one of her jobs onto other members of staff. Especially now that she has given each corporate group within the Rabenschwarz Group complete freedom over their own operations. "I will try, but no guarantees~ So Wilhelm, what could ever be so important for you to actually show up in person~? I am guessing it isn't about the little gang war, right~☆" |

...With what he already knew about Kues, it's actually a bit hard for Seth to swallow in the fact that the Witch is actually the ringleader of this entire corporation, sitting there at her desk with that really smug air around her just like any CEO of a company would. And, even though it shouldn't be a problem, her making it known that she knows him actually felt kind of unnerving, especially with that little leer he's getting from Wilhelm. Though he didn't really mention anything about it as he was quick to move on to the main point. "On the contrary, it has everything to do with the, ah... little 'gang war'," He even skipped the greeting part, something anyone with at least a little courtesy would frown on. Though not exactly expecting that from Kues. "If I have to admit, I am quite displeased to find out that you were the one responsible for the deviation of a planned events," He had already began the discussion, even before he made his way to the chairman's desk and took his seat. Seth was a bit hesitant, glancing warily between the three other participants in this meeting. It's hard not to feel out of place, a common man in a group of high-profile people... "You do realize, that in doing so, you would... ah, 'disrupt' our business relation? It is not favorable, especially when I had been planning on proposing a new deal," ...Why is he still smiling then...? |

It was more than obvious to Kues that Anubis had come because of the gang war, after all, why else would he come to Japan to meet Kues in person. It was definitely not going to be for Kues's company, after all. Fortunately for Anubis, standard business practices did not apply, for it wasn't even as if Kues overlooked his lack of respect for business customs. Kues didn't notice it at all. Needless to say, Sun-hwa wasn't quite as pleased to see business manners being completely disregarded, although, she was in no position to voice her displeasure. In fact, judging from her facial expression, with every word spoken between the two, she only grew more and more irritated. "As rigid as always~ But this little gang war has boosted the security industry in Hyakuji City by 350%~ Armstrong never appreciates any help I give GENCOM, always focusing on the negatives~☆" Mainly because Armstrong doesn't know anything about METRO, and even if he did, it was obvious Kues's decisions weren't business ones, and ones out of self interest. It was only by chance that it happened to secure GENCOM more security contracts. "Plus, isn't it good for your little gang, and businesses~ I've heard that since the start of the war, demand for information on Hyakuji City in the black market has rocketed~ Along with armaments~☆" As unprofessional as Kues seemed most of the time, she appeared to be remarkably up to date with current affairs. Unfortunately, the black market was probably the type of market you would want her to be less informed about... It really does give an insight into how the Rabenschwarz Group have so much money despite having a low net income. "Plus, after the participation of all those people, I have had a client interested in our latest product~ I think you can guess who it is, although, we cannot confirm his exact identity~ We need someone to test its potential, and you know what those silly children are like~ With that weapon, he will dominate the war, and those silly children will join up with anyone who appears less evil, riiiight~☆ That is when your gang can finally make their grand debut~☆" In other words, Kues was suggesting to sell the weapon on the black market, and give a certain gang enough power to dominate the war which would lead to all the other participants having to pool together to defeat them. |

...Honestly? "...Ahahaha! Well then! It's true that you really couldn't expect less from the one and only Witch of Madness!" He's not even mad, he's actually quite pleasantly surprised at the kind of cards she managed to pull out in a single exchange of a conversation! Not to say he wasn't expecting her to come up with something, but it's always interesting to see what the Witch could conjure out of thin air. "Hmph. Very well, you are correct. We have not had this much leverage since five years ago. I must thank you for that... even if you only really did it for your own entertainment," ...Well, someone would have to point that out sooner or later. As obvious as it was no one seemed to really dare to say anything. Not that it would matter, she'd probably be quite proud of that fact. "But really, are you quite sure you wish to share your... ah, 'latest product' with them? As much as I respect your decision, do not forget, they are just mere kids and a bunch of street punks. I would rather not waste valuable resources on child's play who are only concerned with victories," He added while he was busy wiping his glasses before putting it back on. "In any case, I really do have a new deal I'd like to present to you. I'm sure Miss Sun-Hwa and Mr. Ryouga would find it interesting as well. Possibly even your client, or a certain guild you had been sponsoring as of late?" ...Woah okay, hold on, Seth can understand that lady or the 'client' or the 'guild' being mentioned, but what the heck does he have anything to do with this to be singled out like that? It was seriously unnerving to hear his name being mentioned, even more so with that sly half-glance he's getting from the man. "Madame Kues, have you ever considered the idea of a living weapon? They are not unlike your 'Furniture', but I assure you, they are far, far more than just mere 'Furniture'," To Seth, this conversation has become a bit too odd. now they're talking about furniture...? |

"Oh, but what else would you expect from someone in the entertainment business~☆" Needless to say, the Bernkastel-Kues Corporation being in the entertainment business couldn't possibly be any more appropriate... However, a certain person standing next to Kues was anything but entertained. If anything irritated Sun-hwa more than anything, it was having time that could be used for work wasted on doing nothing. Her expression was one between pained and irritated, and she certainly made no attempt to hide it. Although, Kues couldn't see her face anyway. Not that it would have affected Kues anyway. "But we don't even know if our latest product works~ You know that GENCOM does 90% of their testing on the blackmarket, riiiight~? If the new security device blows up, and sets the costumer on fire, weeell that's just a shame~☆" Needless to say, when they sell things on the blackmarket, they don't use the name GENCOM for obvious reason. God only knows how many names Kues uses to sell things on the blackmarket. Even she has no less than a billion names on it. Of course, the conversation soon went onto something that even seemed to take Sun-hwa's interest. She prospect of a living weapon? It was true that while the Dernbach Industry Group was producing a lot of AI based products, Sun-hwa somewhat gathered that what Anubis was talking about wasn't quite on the same level as an AI. In fact, instead of giving Kues time to answer, Sun-hwa seemed to answer on behalf of Kues, which would probably be a relief for Anubis. "Living weapon? While I do not fully understand this furniture talk, I do believe what you talk about isn't going to be something such as an AI or an animal engineered for combat?" Oh, that's right, biologically engineered animals used for combat were GENCOM's area of business. "You're mistaken~ Furniture is much more Nietzsche's tastes, I just take the ones she has lost interest in~☆" Well, Arthur was originally one of Nietzsche's creations, after all. Kues just modified him a little... Although, Sun-hwa's expression seemed to return to her previous irritated expression. Clearly she wasn't a fan of having the topic redirected to small talk, which was something Kues probably had a habit of doing. God only knows how Sun-hwa has managed to work for Kues up until now. Probably because Kues lets her do whatever she wants, even if it has been losing the corporation money up until recently. |

How would anyone normal be able to handle this person, he will never know. Then again, it's not like he's normal either. Anubis gave a light chuckle at Kues' little comment, though this time he made no attempt to pursue the small conversation. Whether it was simply out of respect for someone else wishing to do actual business or because he himself was eager to show something off, god only knows. "How about if I show you instead?" He raised his hand and snapped his fingers. "Heeh, not a bad place. Do all rich people have office like this?" It was... hardly what anyone would have considered impressive, or even remotely surprising. Unless you count someone who quite literally just appeared out of nowhere right in the middle of the two/four/three discussing parties surprising. There wasn't any indication, warning, or even at least a single special effect, besides Anubis snapping his finger. As though all he did was release everyone from a trance that made them completely unable to notice a girl in a hooded sweater holding a pretty large scythe that was almost twice her size that had been sitting on the table since before they even started talking. She seemed pretty ordinary, besides the scythe in her hand that also seemed to have... a pretty unorthodox and modern design. Even futuristic perhaps, chrome plated from the tip of the massive blade to the end of the staff, with a blood red, dimmed down LED 'eye' at both sides of the blade. It was apparently shocking enough to Seth however, that he actually leaped off his chair toppling it over, taking steps back from the newcomer girl with a dangerously alert glare at her- "...Y-you..." ...V? Seth was surprised. He knows it was surprising but to the point of getting the Metavirus of all people this worked up? He's not even looking at the girl, but at... the scythe? ...Is he... scared? His facial expression seemed to show it... It was actually something that gave quite the amusement to Anubis himself, yet the hooded girl with the scythe sitting on the table seemed quite offended. "What the hell? I know I'm Death, but that doesn't mean I don't get hurt with you looking at my cute face like that..." She said with a pout, grumbling at the other direction instead before turning her attention to the source of her arrival. "Well, what is it? If you're asking about that fox guy they've already-" "Don't mind me," Anubis said lightly, interrupting the girl who was understandably miffed at the rudeness. But her expression turned to that of horror when she realized where his hand was aimed at. "Ah- wait, don't you dare-!" It was nothing more than a light touch on the scythe. "ACCURSED HUMANS!!!" All of a sudden the scythe's 'eyes' came to life, blazing a brilliant blood red as at the same time a powerful killing aura erupted from it and immediately consuming the atmosphere of the office. Seth, or rather... V the Metavirus took no time to back up as far away as he could from the source of the deathly aura. The girl yelped in shock as she tried to back away, only ending up crashing to the floor as she reached the end of the desk. Anubis sat there, seemingly unperturbed... even seemingly amused. "DO YOU FILTHY HUMAN THINK YOU HAVE THE RIGHTS TO MANHANDLE I, THE GREAT DEATH HIMSELF?!" Incredibly condescending, dangerously unrestrained, the oddly thick French accent very noticeable in the robotic voice coming from the scythe hovered forward towards the hooded girl on the floor, who seemed to be genuinely terrorized by the scythe's newly found rebellious nature. "I REFUSE TO LET MYSELF BE RELEGATED TO A MERE TOY FOR PLAY IN THE HANDS OF A WHELP THAT BARELY EVEN KNOWS WHAT ADULTHOOD IS!!! AND YOU CALL YOURSELF DEATH, BRINGER OF BALANCE IN LIFE?! HA!!! I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT BALANCE IS AS I RIP YOU IN PERFECT HAL-!!!" Snatch. In an instant everything died down, and relative peace returned to the office. The atmosphere lifted, the terrible French accent of the scythe quieted. Anubis was holding onto the handle of the scythe that was just moments and inches away from tearing the horrified and speechless hooded girl in half, starting from the top of her head. "Oh dear oh dear... You still haven't gotten his trust yet?" Anubis said, and despite the smile that was on his face he sounded... quite disappointed. "I even gave him to you for free, the least you could do is show me his growth," ...The hooded girl wasn't amused. Even though she apparently couldn't find the strength to even say anything, the hateful glare she was giving to Anubis was more than indication enough to what she really wants to do to him given the chance. Well, regardless. "He is very much alive, don't you think?" Anubis said as he turned back to Sun-Hwa and Kues, awaiting their judgement. Though... one has to wonder, who in their right business mind would want to accept THAT as a business deal?! The office's phone rang. |

Needless to say, Sun-hwa was relieved to see that Anubis wasn't going to entertain Kues with small talk. Kues was also actually interested in what exactly Anubis meant by living weapon, after all, there was a lot of things that it could mean. Their attentions were directed to the girl who seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Either she was hiding herself very well, or her presence was on the same level as a chair. Either way, it looked as if Sun-hwa and Kues finally acknowledged her existence. Needless to say, the comment about the office didn't particularly sit well with Sun-hwa. Just about when small talk was finished, someone else makes an attempt at it. Seth's response seemed to have caught the interest of Kues, who was watching with a look of expectation. If Seth was reacting in the way he was, then it must have been something worth seeing. The only two people in the room who were calmly sitting back in their seats at the moment were probably only Anubis and Kues. Well, technically Sun-hwa couldn't be comfortable sitting back since she was technically standing, but that wasn't the point. The room silently watched as the scythe seemed to have more control than the actually wielder. What was a pathetic and embarrassing performance for the young girl appeared to be entertainment for Anubis and Kues, whereas for Sun-hwa, she seemed to have have her full concentration on the scythe. It was even somewhat disturbed how void of emotion her face was. It was a look of intense interest and deep thought, and she clearly had no interest in what would become of the girl who the scythe was directing its hate towards. Finally the commotion was put to a stop, ending in a silent scythe, and a terrified girl. Perhaps the only sympathy she would get was from Seth. Before Kues could even speak, Sun-hwa immediately put in her own words. "GENCOM know nothing about this, correct?" Clearly Sun-hwa's only interest was to research the scythe, and needless to say, if GENCOM knew about it, then the Dernbach Industry Group would have to compete with GENCOM. "As if I would let Armstrong know about it~ I am sure you know as well as I do how much he likes to leak company information~☆" The look on Sun-hwa's face was one that said if you know about it, why is he still GENCOM's president, but at the same time, she didn't honestly care enough to say it. She just wanted the scythe, and nothing else. Which was when the phone rang. Strangely enough, rather than Kues picking it up, Sun-hwa did. "Rabenschwarz Group CEO Office. The CEO is currently in a meeting, so I will be speaking on her behalf." Of course, Kues didn't say anything to Sun-hwa. It seemed as if Sun-hwa took a lot of calls that were meant for Kues. "But really, what a waste~☆" Letting Sun-hwa take the call, Kues continued to speak, her words directed at not only Anubis, but also the girl who was terrified to near death by the scythe. "Don't you think a weapon of that level should be entrusted to someone else~? Clearly that little girl is never going to tame a weapon like that~☆ Oooh, I know, maybe we should test her, and see if she can really tame it if her life actually depended on it~☆ Unless you want to let someone else try~☆" The meaning of Kues's words were roundabout, but clear. Kues was offering that Anubis give the scythe over to Kues rather than let the hooded girl wield it, while at the same time offering the hooded girl a chance to prove that she could tame it by putting her life on the line. Either way, it was amusing for Kues, so she honestly didn't mind which outcome. |
