The meaning of that question slightly eluded Einhart. It was as she had completely forgotten that she wasn't the Overlord himself. When she it came to battle experience, they were one and the same. Hell, even in every-day life, she had troubles separating herself from her memories. So, hearing how many were 'as a young woman' was quite confusing to her for a few moments. Even when she remembered that she wasn't the ancient overlord Ingvalt, she didn't quite understand the question, though. It was simply... well, she wasn't too observant in conversations! However, something inside of her urged her to respond. Her head lifted softly and she gave a nod. "I'm... fourteen." Einhart meekly responded, giving the other the only answer she could think of. Her answer was mostly correct for Kell's actual question, with how she had been training as long as she could remember, but she didn't add her fourteen years of person experience to the hundred she had mentioned... And, of course, she hadn't been truly training for as long as she had lived! Only for as long as she could walk and move her arms properly, really. |

"... huh." Fourteen? That wasn't too far off from Kell. The wrestler frowned slightly, looking the girl over again. Yeah, that wasn't the usual athletic build. If she was training, it was at a fanatical level. Hell, she was probably more developed than Kell was at the same age. "Then... You remember what happened beforehand, huh?" That was her first guess. A strong, absolutely unstoppable warrior had been her previous life. That'd explain 100 years of training. Nobody gets that opportunity without being tough enough to last that long in the first place. But how did she come to that level? "Doesn't that get confusing sometimes, remembering a life that's gone on many times longer than this one?" |

"I remember some details, yes..." Her reply to her first comment was fast and unstaggered. It seemed like she did get what she meant, so that was good! However, when she commented again... the silvery-green haired girl froze up. It was something she didn't think about very much, or rather, tried not to think about very much. Between the fact that all of her dreams were loops of Claus' memories, and the fact that she was here, trying to regain whatever it was what he lost... Well, it was really obvious that she had lost herself in attempting to become him. She had no life of her own, no will of her own, she barely had a personality of her own. Was it... confusing, though? In a way, it was. Even though she knows her and the ancient Overlord Claus are different people, she feels like she is him and he is her. She feels like her entire purpose in life is fulfilling his ancient will... Gah. Gently, she nodded her head. "I know he's a different person, however..." her left hand rose up, looking over the gauntlet covering her fingers. "...He feels like a part of me. It really is like all the things in his memories are things that happened to me." ...Einhart couldn't decide whether it was a positive thing or a negative one. In a way, it completely railroaded her life into the things that plagued her memories, on the other hand... it also directly gave her a purpose. |

"I see." Kell straightened her tie. She actually kind of understood, but nowhere near as deeply as somebody who actually experienced the process. The echoes of memories that weren't hers... Well, she couldn't say that she was absolutely sure that happened. But sometimes, she found herself taking on mannerisms that weren't quite hers. And no, not in the insane sort of way. It was like rote, a repetition of something she had done before. But had she really been the one doing it? After all, she did lead with her left arm when she did things like that.... She briefly clutched the wooden limb, a brief worried glance at it following soon after before she looked back at Einhart. "So, he's like your core?" Now that she actually put thought into it, 100 years' worth of memories would crowd out one's personality. She had seen the results of... certain experiments. Giving a newborn an adult's memories was practically like possession. No wonder the girl had such trouble remembering her own name. "The line between Einhart and the past is pretty slim, eh?" She shrugged. "Well, if you can't help but follow what your previous life wanted, I guess that's fine. I mean, it's not like you would be unhappy after reclaiming whatever it is that you or that person had lost." That was a pretty big assumption, but Kell didn't think people would be unsatisfied if they succeeded in what they considered to be their life's meaning. |

"Yes" That's definitely a way you could put it. At the very core of her existence, at the very center of every little thing in her life, there lay those ancient memories. Gently, Einhart lowered her head, starting to think a bit about "I don't know... what else to do. And I'm sure that, whatever it is... finding it once more will make me happy." Really, Einhart didn't say all that much more than repeating Kell's own words back to her... but that was really all she could feel right now. Taking a deep breathe, she sighed and shook her head. "For some reason... even though it felt like it happened ages ago, I know I can accomplish whatever his goal was." Einhart lifted her head a bit, looking Kell back in her eyes. She was usually silent because she simply lacked words to speak- if she actually knew what to say, she could get... well, somewhat talkative! Usually, it only happened when it was related to fighting, as nobody really asked her about her past before! This was something she was confident in speaking about without feeling lost or bored or distracted. "I can feel it's within reach. I don't know how the rest of my family felt about it, but... I feel like it's really close by! If I only reach my hand out a bit, I can grab it. It feels like it so close by to me... it just feels like I need to know where it is!" She was completely and utterly convinced of her words. Who knows, maybe it was some insane rambling the ancient overlord planted in his blood to make sure they wouldn't give up. But she didn't suspect that. She knew for sure it was in her reach... "I don't know what it is. But when I came here, to Hyakuji! I was sure it is here... I've been looking for a few months now, I can't find it... but it feels so close! So close! Maybe if I get a little stronger...!" |

Kell pursed her lips, almost annoyed at Einhart's hesitation. It was actually starting to make her feel bad, forcing somebody to think things through. This unforgiveable softness really was going to get her hurt in the future, but she knew that sympathy for others had been lacking in her life for far, far too long. Why not indulge in it? The unbearable pain of having something so close within her reach was something she understood, though. Many times, she had given up only to be drawn back in by something else. It really soured her to the whole mess that was her life, until some good karma saved her from endless drudgery and bitterness. So then, what could she say? What could she do to help out a soul in the same position? "I guess I'll help out. Sure, there's already the part where you get to fight some real bad people. But sometimes, people need others so that they don't lose their way." There was one path for Einhart. Kell didn't know if it would lead to something good or bad, but if she really wanted to reach the end... Well, she'd help the girl out. One favour for another, she wanted to say. |

Huh ...Help. That was a concept pretty foreign to Einhart. She had never really asked for help regarding it. Because, honestly, she never really thought of it. It wasn't like she was shy of asking people for help, although she was pretty awkward in social situations... She really simply hadn't had it come to mind! "Would you... really help?" Einhart asked, tilting her head and stepping forward a bit, her hands moving close to one-another. The defensive armour covering her arms and legs faded, her bare fingers pressing together before her palms touched. She seemed rather overly touched by the idea of this person just helping her! AND she was giving her the opportunity to fight people that she wouldn't have to hold back against! ...Really, she just saw it as someone doing two favours for her, and it was kinda weird! "I have... really vivid memories, of losing against a blonde lady, one with heterochromia like me." Einhart said. If she was really going to help, there was no reason to hold back on details, right? "I think that if I meet her... I think I'll figure out a bit more of what I lost!" It sounded like a bit of a delusion... if she had at least a hundred years of experience, the events that gave her this experience should've happened a while ago, right? "I remember... her calling me 'King Ingvalt'. I remember me striking at her and trying to take her down... I remember losing consciousness and my next memory being of face-up, staring her in the face... I feel like... I lost something really important when I lost that fight! I felt like she took the thing most important from me! I'm sure that if I find her again... " Sadly, her memories had next to no context. All she remembers is losing and feeling horrible because of her losses... she didn't ahve too much memories of how she actually gained the massive amount of experience she had! "I would." Kell confirmed, grinning fiercely as she did. "Just because I kill criminals doesn't mean I've forgotten how to serve the public interest." She ran her hands through her hair, laughing as she did. "An innocent heart doesn't need an innocent mind. You love battle and gaining strength, yeah. But you're not malicious about it. You don't lash out at people who you don't have a quarrel with, and you don't target those who are weaker than you. That's good enough for me to lend my support, Einhart." She made a slow effort to reach out. Yet again, she was being very careful here. Kell wanted this encounter to end amicably, not with an accidental arm break. Trying to show some camaraderie with highly trained fighters like her green haired counterpart was difficult that way. But hey, Einhart looked like she deserved to be shown some friendliness, as blushy as she was. Speaking of which, it seemed like she put enough trust in Kell to reveal her past. She raised an eyebrow. Maybe if this particular system of reincarnation resulted in similar appearances.... "So, look for a blonde girl with different coloured eyes. Got it." She noted. Seeing as how she was already in for the long haul, might as well go the extra mile. But what was it that old King Ingvolt had lost? "... Could it be that she demolished your past self's pride?" Kell mused aloud. "Or perhaps it was a lover's quarrel that broke his heart?" The wrestler wasn't quite fond of monarchs. Making the assumption that the king had pissed his wife off and then got beaten in a humiliating fashion was practically half a step away once the green haired fighter told her about it. |

To Einhart, executing these criminals sounded like it was the right thing to do. While she knew killing was normally taboo, her memories had tainted her perspective on killing criminals. While she couldn't summon complete memories on the things she did in her past, she had a vague internal recollection of how criminals are to be treated. Anyone who opposes the overlord's law is to a point where they are considered 'dangerous criminals' was to be terminated, after all, if they were left free to their own devices... they could do the same to other people, right? And that would be a problem. The soft laugh confused Einhart, although the words Kell had after calmed her down quickly. That's right, Einhart only fought to improve herself. Why would she fight people weaker than her? Unless they wronged her, she had no reason. Picking on weaker people didn't really help her improve. ...Although, generally, it's hard to know whether or not someone is weaker than you without actually fighting first. But, if you challenge someone stronger than you and expect to win and then don't and kinda get hurt in the process, that's your own fault. When Kell reached her hand forward, Einhart initially flinched, her arms reflexively moving up to defend herself, before realising this wasn't much of an offensive movement. Her arms lowered again, simply hanging besides her body as she let Kell do what she wanted. Of course, any truly offensive movement would end up with Einhart moving to grab Kell in an arm-lock, but it didn't seem like that was going to happen... Einhart nodded as Kell repeated her own little explanation, before thinking as she offered her own suggestions on what could've happened. "I... really don't know. It feels like, when she defeated him... I lost something. That's really all I know..." It's a puzzle she really couldn't piece together without the remaining pieces, although she really didn't intend to leave it be. Even though she couldn't find the solution just yet, that was no reason not to think about it. "I just know I want to get it back. And I know that if I find her again..." Einhart hesitated for a moment as she spoke, knowing that she was repeating herself. She simply stopped herself mid-sentence, shaking her head. Edited by Hayate, Mar 6 2014, 03:16 PM.

Return. Return. That seemed to be the reoccurring theme with Einhart's statements. But it did bring back some old feelings, too. Once upon a time, she wanted to return to her family, to have them take her back and care for her before she tried to leave. But she came to realize that it was way less ideal than she thought. Even if they loved her, they would never let that get in the way of them killing her if she stepped out of line. That was the harsh rule of her family. From the head to the scrawniest of recruits, absolutely none of them were allowed to go against their decades long mission. Absolutely none of them were safe. Their blood would be shed as easily as that of a criminal's. Innocent. Yearning. Kell knew she had already pledged to go and help Einhart, but maybe what she'd find... Or rather not find could hurt her more. The green haired girl was strong, but to have her life's highest goal go absolutely wrong would probably land a fatal strike to her core. There really weren't many people she knew who could go on after that. Her mouth was set in a line. Even this cycle was able to give new information, new doubts. But showing such weakness now would undermine what she had said and done. So, she ruthlessly hid it behind a more stoic look. She hadn't forced everything she had down for a while, but she wasn't quite out of practice. "You'll get what you need. It's not much to go on, but I'll do what I can find." Kell said evenly, her fingers unconsciously gripping the log she was sitting on. "Just don't lose your way, Einhart. I don't know what will happen when you finally meet her, but it... concerns me." It seemed like the fighter was one of the few people that Kell had ever worried about on a personal level. Was this situation really something that cut so deep into the wrestler's heart? |
