Kell knew that look. She was being strangled by her past too, huh? The wrestler sighed in almost disbelieving annoyance. Sure, she knew some people who were trying to reclaim what they lost. But at the same time, they weren't necessarily bound like Einhart and her were. If one loses something worth getting back, could one truly be said to be obsessing over what had been and never could be again? No, they were both the kind of person who took it a step too far, who had gone and let the chains wrap around their hearts and limbs. She couldn't possibly know how heavy Einhart's burden was, but she did know that she was suffering a great deal because of it. The old dilemmas, the lack of purpose that freedom would bring, all those were known to Kell. The answer, at least in her view, had been to surrender to the chains and let them puppeteer her. But maybe some people couldn't walk down their path in life without those bindings keeping them aloft. Without Rikina, could Kell have found the strength to act on her own, if even for a moment? "Everything breaks, Einhart. Nobody would be mad if you speed the process up for some people. Especially people as evil as them." She completed the handshake, fully aware of the position the green haired girl was in. Well, figuratively and literally. This wouldn't have been the first time her arm was broken this way, if Einhart decided to attack. At least she'd probably be gentler to Kell than her father was. "I won't claim to be a good person. But I'm in the position of having to face monsters far, far worse than me. You'd kill them if you had the chance, believe me on that." She said, now growing serious on the matter. "If you're the slightest bit interested in preserving innocent life, you'll be happy to break the people who we're bound to fight against." |

Everything breaks, huh? When you add enough force, everything would snap in half. Even Olivie's absolute defense perished when it met the fist of the king. Maybe it was arrogance, but Einhart couldn't possibly imagine a scenario where she wouldn't end up beating- and possibly breaking them right in half. She hadn't really be introduced to the realm of super-humans just yet, and if they were 'ordinary', no amount of talent could beat a hundred years of experience. Swords, axes, spears, hand to hand... In her limited scope of imagination, the only real thing Einhart could see herself having trouble with is 'guns'. And that would merely be a problem until she closes the distance. "I won't break." she simply responded, her hand retreating to her side as her handshake was finished, her position shifting away from that quick-grapple stance. But, really... people she could go all out against? Horrible criminals, horrible people that had no value in surviving... Horrible people that she probably wouldn't be blamed for executing. Einhart's blood was boiling. In any and all fights she had, she had to hold back because killing was taboo. Going all out against people... it would be like the ancient war. She didn't have to hold back in any way, she didn't have to force people into 'submission' she had to force people into 'nonfunctionality'. A dark aura of excitement would form around Einhart, while her face did it's best to maintain that neutral expression. The young girl softly nodded her head, her left hand moving to the middle of her chest as she made another quick bow of her head. "When do I get to... compete with these evil people?" While there was no smile on her face, it was obvious that she was overjoyed, excited, and she simply couldn't wait to... prove her prowess. |

"You never knew." Kell said ominously, her real hand moving away to clutch her wooden arm. They had done things to her that tore her apart. Einhart might have been tougher, but even she had her human frailties. "I can only advise caution. If they were easy to beat, they wouldn't have lasted long enough for us to get in trouble with them." They were a persistent evil, undoubtedly. And it seemed like the idea of getting to go all out on them was very appealing to the green haired fighter. There was a great darkness in her smile, but Kell ignored it for the time being. However hard it was to believe, she was choosing to believe in a virtual stranger's better nature for once. "Soon, Einhart. Don't get me wrong, I'd like it if we could attack them now. But I don't have any way of finding them. Mark my words, they'll be hunting in this city. And when that time comes, we'll be ready to fight. Consider this to be advance warning for the upcoming battle." She didn't feel like she had to say the next few words, but it was a platitude that she reserved for people who embodied hard work. And in this case, maybe it was all the motivation that the fighter needed. "Don't slack on your training. You'll need it to survive." |

'You never know', huh? There's no way these opponents can be nearly as dangerous, nearly as skilled as the ancient Queen she has repeatedly fought. It was... mildly insulting to consider the fact that she might be in any sort of danger. Even if she wasn't as strong as her ancestor, she still had every bit of skill he had. And that skill was otherworldly. But... what was actually offensive? Claiming that she would once, for even a second, would slack on her training. It was quite visible on her face. For a moment, her always rather neutral expression twitched. Her lips curled downwards and she seemed... kinda hurt. However, that would only last for a fraction of a second. Turning around, the silvery-green haired girl faced away from the man, swiping one of her arms to the side rather playfully to vent off some frustration. She punched out into nothing more than empty skies, before dropping her arm once again. "...Slack on training...? I haven't in a hundred years. Why would I stop now?" slowly, her head turned towards the girl that made that rather rude comment. Maybe she was being a bit arrogant, with how she lacked the King's raw strength to back up her transcendent skill, with how she didn't have the special abilities he had to leave even long range as an easy task... well, she definitely wasn't without faults just yet. And even then, the faultless King, still fell repeatedly to the blonde Queen.... Arrogance had truly started to cloud her mind a bit. "If anything... they'll be a bit of training for me." |

Oh, looks like Einhart was a little offended, huh? Well, tough luck there. Kell didn't quite know and she couldn't quite care. The stupidly difficult battles themselves would be apologies enough, and that was that. Yep. "Sorry about that." Kell replied. OH COME ON. She just had to cave in, didn't she? Damn it, she really had a weakness for the cute ones. She didn't reach out to pat Einhart's head, though. That would probably cost her that remaining arm. And by Christo, she still needed that one. And then she patted Einhart's head, because apparently she wanted the hair ruffle more than her arm. If she could sigh right now, she totally would. "You take this pretty seriously, huh? I like earnest people like that." She grinned. "Asking you for help was the right thing, without a doubt." |

Kell wasn't just screwed. She had broken the very concept of being screwed. By patting Einhart, she simply sealed her faith. The universe cracked- nay, shattered, in front of Kell. Time and space seemed to simply rupture in front of them, being replaced with a pure form of non-existence. It wasn't like existence was removed from this area- it was simply replaced by it's one opposite. It broke all the rules nature could impose on it, simply because it wasn't of our plane of reality. This nondescript emptiness only had one purpose- just like matter and antimatter, it seeked to replace and destroy its counterpart. And this hole; this broke the tiny window between the two dimensions. The dimension of 'existence' and 'nonexistence' Kell's pat had not just doomed herself, it had doomed the entire fabric of reality. Soon, nonexistence would pour in through this fragile window, blanketing all of Hyakuji to nothingness and returning the Earth itself to a void of zero. And soon, the sun would flash its final lights, and- Who am I kidding. The pat simply caused Einhart to tilt her head to the side ever so slightly, confused by the physical contact- and even more so when she added that little comment onto it. "...Of course I take it seriously..." Einhart said, her head lowering a bit. Something about her words felt even more insulting- or at least demeaning. Normally, insults would cause Einhart to jump to a quick grapple or to a quick punch. But something about her words... it sounded kind of like a compliment as well. Was she complimenting her for taking it so seriously, rather than meaning that she did not think she was truly taking it seriously earlier? Einhart's earlier social hiccup seemed to have make her think quite a bit more behind her actions. |

"Yeah. Every moment of your life's geared towards that goal. It began long, long before we met, and it'll continue long, long after we walk away from this forest...." Kell chuckled. "I tried to live according to my ideals, but I couldn't keep it up all the time like you did. Always reaching towards the end of the tunnel, huh?" She looked up to the clear sky, wondering where she had gone wrong. Was she wrong to have started walking this path, or to stray from it? The answer could only be found in herself, yet she wished it'd come down to her. "But what's past it, I wonder? What happens when we get what we want? How else can we live, when our eternal chase ends?" Kell had once thought about asking Rikina that, but decided not to. It wasn't a question she truly was curious about then. But here and now, sitting with a green haired girl with a chunk missing from her self... Kell didn't know. Maybe this was the right person to ask, the right person to learn from. Then again, maybe that was the wrong idea. In the end, was there even a satisfactory answer to her question? |

That's right. Her entire life was dedicated to her goal. She couldn't conceive working towards anything else. She was not strong of heart or will, she could not resist the memories that simply forced it's way into her mind. Truly, she was a slave to her past... and it was arguable whether this past was even hers to begin with! And then Kell asked a question. A rather stinging, annoying question. What was her goal? Becoming the strongest, becoming strong enough to defeat the ancient Queen? Somehow beating her? Einhart... wasn't sure. She simply knew that it was related to gaining strenght and correcting her past. But what part was she correcting? Her lack of strength, or her extreme failures? "I..." her left hand moved to her mouth as she started to think. Or tried to think. For all of her talents in fighting, Einhart was extremely lacking as a person. She had no response to that. Sure, even to someone as empty as her, the thought sometimes came up in her mind. What WOULD she do after? But when it's simply your own thoughts, you never have the confront them. The silvery-green haired girl winced slightly, before weakly shaking her head and raising it up to stare at the other. "...don't know... do you?" |

No, not the rignt one after all. What a shame. Kell just sighed and shrugged, this time in shared ignorance. There wasn't anything she could really say or do to bring this to any sort of satisfying conclusion. All she could do was tell the truth. "No. Maybe we'll stall out once we get it. Or we'll find something new. Either way, we can't walk the same path as before. That's a stop for us, final or otherwise." It wasn't quite a good way to put it, but that was the most succinct explanation she could think of. For the time being, they could keep on going the way they were headed in. But when the time came, it was either a quick escape or self-destruction that awaited them. She merely shook her head again. "You should think on it. When you've regained what you've lost, don't walk down a path that takes it away once more." Edited by Flambe, Feb 5 2014, 02:05 AM.

Right. It was exactly as the other girl said. Things were complicated and goals only lasted until you achieved them. While Einhart wasn't even sure what her personal goal was at this point, when it was attained, it was definitely going to fleet... and she would need something else to live for. But what? It was a bit of an unfair question! The more she felt forced to confront the fact that her life wouldn't end with the goal, the more she felt uncomfortable. She was starting to wiggle around a bit, her previous shows of strength completely fading as her two hands pressed together and she turned into nothing more than a clueless, uncomfortable, awkward little girl. "I-I'll decide that..." Einhart did her best to distract herself from the question by moving towards the tree she was napping against, grabbing her bag and fishing a bottle of water out of it and starting to drink quite a bit of it down. Ah, cold water tended to remedy her just ever-so-slightly when she was antsy... "When it is the time to." Einhart muttered, holding the bottle in her left hand and returning to her previous position. Unlike most regular people, she had no idea how to deflect a conversation away from something that made her uncomfortable, so she simply stood there... squirming ever so slightly. |

Heh. Future anxiety, eh? Kell knew the feeling, too. But she could keep her cool because she had somebody to hold onto. Perhaps.... No. She shook her head slightly, almost if rejecting that possibility. Even if she was weak to the cute ones, she also knew that she was the kind of person who couldn't associate that closely with people not of her stripe. She was just that much of a deviant. Einhart was impressionable, even if it was difficult to get through to her. A stamp in silver would not come out as easily as a stamp in gold, after all. "You'll get there eventually." She said briefly. "Remember, the destination's more important than the journey. Doesn't matter how hard the road is if you're going to a better place." |

Impressionable, gullible, naive. Those definitely summed Einhart up. As simple as she was towards everything that did not contain fighting, it was hard for her to understand the idea of someone lying for something as important like this. Sure, she understood an enemy doing it, but why would you ever lie to someone about something this important. Luckily, the wrestler did not make the comment, if it really were so negative and bad. "Yes" Einhart said, giving the wrestler a small nod and stepping away just ever so slightly "I am sure you will, too." she said, her hands slowly moving up to her head to fix her now-slightly-ruffled hair. "Is there anything you can tell me about these... enemies?" Einhart would ask, pushing Kell's hand aside if she did anything to prevent her from fixing up her hair. Intel was an important part of fighting, knowing just... anyhting about them might make a dangerous fight much easier. Well, 'easier' is the wrong word. If there were any enemies with 'gimmicks' like the ancient Queen's annoying shields, she would have to think up a proper countermeasure. And if there was anyone with any sort of ranged attacks... ...well, she'd have to focus on that, too! |

"Heh. Well, I did hear of whispers of a certain bunch coming soon." Kell looked around, and then leaned in close. "They used to be called the Sepulcher Six, at least until they got snapped up by a larger group. I didn't find out their current name, but now they're 22 psychos, all with powers of some sort." She grinned, figuring that would pull in Einhart's interest. "I'm not going to say I know exactly what they can do, but a fair number of them are the kind who seem like they could possibly beat you. And 2 of them, in particular, are strong enough that I'd say that they'd definitely win. All I know is that one has guns, and the other wields a really long sword." Now that was an enormous claim. Could she possibly take offence to that? Kell had to keep talking to find out. "The world is a big, big place. Have you fought all this time without expecting to find somebody who could be rated that high?" She asked with a wry smile. |

22... powerful psychos...!? Einhart assumed they would all be different opponents for her to fight, and had already shot back into excitement. Once again, her eyes sparkled childish glee as she seemed like a happy child being promised to be taken to their favourite fast-food restaurant. But then he had to step on her pride. Oh lord, don't step on Einhart's pride. Her eyes went from gleeful to empty once more, as she repositioned her footing and slid back just a bit. Once more, her hands were brought up to her face, this time her pose much more powerful and focused than the one she took while still waking up. The necklace under her shirt flashed with a slight amount of energy and suddenly- her hands were covered in black gauntlets. For the slightest moment, her pose staggered before she recollected herself, as if something had suddenly dropped a large amount of weight on her limbs. However, it never seemed anything less than both absolute and resolute. "Someone with a sword... won't ever beat me." the armaments of Asteion had one obvious purpose; even with their powers mostly vanished, they worked effectively at countering those with simple blades. They were thick enough to catch and even punch a blade out of someone's hand! However, someone with a gun? That left Einhart... somewhat uncomfortable. She had no memories or any experience in facing someone with that type of powers! Quick firing projectiles that did barely any damage- sure. Slowly charging moves that did a lot of damage- sure! But a gun? She had to figure out a strategy against them, and fast! "...and even someone armed with a firearm... I'll never be beaten!" her words were proud and resolute, and while she did seem to realise that guns were her bane, she thought herself higher than simply losing to someone like that. Maybe she would be a bit troubled by the matchup- but lose? Ha Edited by Hayate, Feb 9 2014, 10:23 PM.

As quick as a flip of a light switch, Einhart's eyes went from happy to empty. Christo, it reminded her of Lucid's gaze. She shuddered slightly, but managed to keep her cool otherwise. Her wooden arm throbbed madly, almost as if in dark recollection of the moment where the white haired psycho had blown her original limb off. When the green haired girl summoned up her gauntlets, the wrestler quirked an eyebrow. Huh, so it seemed like those were her answer to the sword wielding butcher that was part of the incoming assassins. She didn't seem to have another solution for guns, but that was understandable. "100 years of practice have made you real sharp. I just have to wonder how much of that's been... Well, as a young woman." Maybe the caution in her question was a little unnecessary, but Kell really didn't think that Einhart had appreciated her previous comments. And as she figured, getting pulped by those fists was hardly any way to spend this day. Was the green haired girl an eternally youthful girl, or somebody who got possessed by memories contained in a magic item? This was all very confusing to her, given the multitude of ways people could inherit such a long memory. |
