Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Maximilian Urogataya Gender: M Age: 16 Height: 5' 10" Weight: 140lbs Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Powers/ Abilities: Dei Judicium Delendum: After capturing Mayu Akabane, Max was able to utilize her disease-destroying blood to cure himself of the Constupator Virus which held back his true psychic abilities. Now nearly limitless, Max has mastered his abilities and become a psychic force of nature. When manifested, his powers form a green aura around his body. He can create psychic constructs with relative ease ranging in size from hand-held to the size of a four-door sedan though his preferred use for this is constructing the bone-cracking psychic tonfa he uses in combat. His psychic powers can be used to boost his physical prowess shooting his speed and strength beyond that of a normal human allowing him to keep up with even the fiercest metahumans. Harkening back to the effects of the virus, Max also retains his ability to create illusions although this ability is not as powerful as it once was. He can no longer create a psychic chain to boost his illusory powers and he is only able to fool sight. At best this ability allows him to cast after-images and manifest minor hallucinations in a target though these can be resisted with enough willpower. Max also has intermediate level telekinesis, able to toss around objects up to two-hundred pounds with ease though more often he uses it to lift himself off the ground preferring to engage his opponent directly rather than hurling rocks from afar. Police Cadet Training: Being a former Cadet, Max has had extensive training including survival training, tracking, basic self-defense skills and detection. He has a great deal of experience using tonfa. Equipment You Have:
Personality Description: Max tends to be a fairly quiet, serious person. Or at least exudes that aura of someone who wants to be left alone. He rarely cracks a smile and seems to register all his emotions on the same even expression. Relaxing seems to be a foreign concept to him and he constantly seems on edge about something, always watching people to see what they're up to and being suspicious of strangers. He has a unique sense of humor, often attempting pranks or making jokes which are either wildly dangerous or terribly unfunny (read: puns) and his straight-faced delivery often means no one realizes he was making a joke in the first place. He often enforced school policies and rules with a ruthless red-letter reading of it and as much force as is necessary to see it carried out. He cares deeply about the people he seeks to protect and will go to any lengths to see justice delivered and it is definitely a personal obsession for him. Max seems to have no qualms about dealing with corrupt cops or criminals when it comes to investigating his fathers murder, but inside it disgusts him. He plans to one day use his connections to destroy anyone who stands in the way of his vision of a world ruled by his dangerous definition of justice. Personal History: Maximilian Urogataya is a Hyakuji native, having been born on the other side of the city from the famous namesake high school. His father was the classic Japanese detective, a credit to his position and Max's idol from a young age. His mother was a blonde-haired yankee from Oregon and a stay at home mother who was nurturing and sweet. Max has always had a great love for law enforcement like his father and spent most of his childhood playing cops and robbers or pretending to study for police exams. His father nurtured his son's burgeoning love for his work, planning one day for the father-son team they would become and spread justice across Hyakuji city. His father was well-known in local police circles for his psychic abilities which many in the precinct seemed to rely on and allowed him to sometimes preemptively stop crimes from happening. Many suspected Max would one day develop the same abilities and own up to the same promising career that had got his father promoted to detective so quickly. And he would. At a much younger age than most, Max joined the junior police force as his own psychic abilities began to surface. He had achieved the dream of the father-son duo he'd wished for his entire life and with their combined abilities they went a long way towards cleaning up the far side of fair Hyakuji. Their success would spark the interest of a private investor who began working with the local PD to start a new initiative. The psychic soldier initiative or PSI would the fruit of those efforts. With Max's father at the head, new research into creating a psychic police force was being done and the results seemed promising at first. Several friends of Max and his father were drafted into the PSI and somehow given psychic abilities which rivaled their own. For awhile it almost seemed as though this would be the best thing to happen to the city in a long time. However, things quickly began to turn ugly for the members of the PSI project. Those who had been drafted into the experimental part of the project began developing debilitating diseases and disabilities. The effects of whatever gave them their powers was killing them. Max's father was the first to begin pushing for an investigation into the initiative's private investor but was blocked at every turn by the chief, his once long time friend. Though the chief begged him not to investigate further, Max encouraged him and pleaded with his father to allow him to assist in a private investigation. His father would not allow him to get involved and began going off on his own. Days would go by where he disappear and return suddenly, unwilling to disclose where he was going, but each time he seemed a little weaker, more gaunt and sickly. Soon he became bedridden. Max begged with his father to allow him to help, but even on death's door he wouldn't relent straining the bond between them as Max grew more frustrated and angry at his helplessness. The day his father died, they would receive an anonymous letter apologizing for everything that was happening to him, telling him he had brought this on himself if he'd only just kept his nose out of it. It said the virus that was ravaging his body preyed on his psychic abilities and he and eventually his son, would be dead from it with no trace that it had ever existed. The letter was signed only with the letter 'U'. His father died that night and over the next few weeks Max too would become dangerously ill. His psychic abilities would turn on him, attacking his own psyche and threatening him with the same fate as his father. But in the end he would not die. Shortly after his recovery, Max began inquiring into his fathers death. No one in the department would acknowledge that the Psychic Soldier Initiative had ever existed and his father's death was declared by natural causes. He made his vow there that he would uncover what had really happened and make whoever did this pay with their life. He would sacrifice his sickly body and use the abilities the virus meant to kill him had granted him to end the corruption and the criminals forever. Unable to live with the grief of his old home, he moved across town with his mother. The transfer put him near enough to Hyakuji High to transfer as well. It wasn't much of a lead, but a high school full of metahumans seemed as good a place as any to start looking for someone with such interests. The details of his father's death would inevitably reach his ears by none other than the man responsible though not with the expected reaction. Max's insecurities and obsessions had already reached a boiling point when he discovered the existence of the Bakers, a group who he believed was a group of illegal underground vigilantes with connections in Hyakuji. Determined to bring them to justice he captured Seth Ryouga who, in a fit of rage would nearly beat Max to death. Disillusioned with the ideals of justice and the law which protected someone like Seth but not his own father, Max began plotting to bring about a new justice. He had since disappeared shortly after the disappearance of Mayu Akabane with which he was never implicated and hasn't surfaced since until recent rumors suggested his reappearance in Hyakuji... Mashed Potatoes? The proof has been uncovered from the pudding. Detaining now. |
