The haemonculi’s eyes followed the ball of light as it jetted off into the forest, personally Lenny thought it was a somewhat clever illustration of what was occurring. “I would say I fall into neither category. I believe my name really holds no value in this instance, it really helps neither of us, and withholding it causes no detriment” Lenny was going to play coy for as long as he could, this light, over-expressive boy didn’t really have any necessity to know his name to their was no point in giving it. If he knew who Lenny was he might give away the fact he wandered in these woods so often, an inquiry in that direction might reveal some of the things Lenny kept hidden in the woods, things he didn’t want anyone to know about. “I want maps of major magical and elemental sites in the area. The beasts in those area are . . . mutated, I suppose would be the right term. I have found two such sites and the beasts there seemed to be partly flesh and partially magic, knowing where other such sites are would help greatly, not only in keeping me safe but helping me in future catalogues and inquiries into the creatures of this place” He explained his reasons fully. In his mind the castle had most likely been here for a long time and it was entirely likely that they had knowledge of such areas, a knowledge Lenny couldn’t find elsewhere. |

When Lenny started listing everything he required Lella just kind of zoned out. His eyes widened in fear and his mouth sort of just hung open. The young boy hadn't drooled in ages and his body wasn't going to let him start just then. It was starting to seem a bit impressive of a list and in a few seconds he found himself rubbing his arm in comfort. Once the stranger had finished speaking Lella shook his head in disbelief. So much work for such a strange person. He wasn't sure if he should have let his guard down all of a sudden. In fact, he wasn't sure he was even going to be able to get all the things he was being asked to gather. He rubbed his neck and chuckled worriedly. "Um, well I guess I could gather those but, I. Well to be honest, I haven't even stepped foot in there yet. It might take me awhile to gather what you need." Lella stared at Lenny with nervousness filling his green hued eyes. Something inside him though seemed to be wanting to push him further into his mind. Almost as if he did know where the maps were. He reasoned if it was maps they could be found in the library and in a library he was bound to find someone who could help him find them. He wasn't sure what the requirements were for taking material like that out of the library. Shoving both his hands in his pocket he smiled brightly with a plan slowly coming to light in his head. "I'm sure I can figure something out though. Who can deny a beam of sunshine like myself anyway. I'll do it, if you give me something in payment." |

Lenny realized the snag in this whole arrangement when Lella admitted he had never been inside the castle, Lenny had been working from the assumption that the boy in front of him knew the place decently. Oh well, he could be patient, the maps weren’t really entirely necessary, at least for the immediate future. “I can wait, I’m in no rush to get the maps” He put his mittened hands into his pockets. He didn’t really need this from the boy, so he supposed he wouldn’t be disappointed if it all came to naught, but at the same time . . . He was deeply curious and excited by what they might know. For so long exploring this place hand been a game of guess and check, while he was gaining an understanding of the forest’s general status he couldn’t help but think how much previous research could rocket him ahead. It would be a great leap for him personally. “I have a respectable enough amount of money, I’m not rich, no heir or notable, but I have a significant amount of money I can pay if you can get me those maps” Lenny’s hunting meant that the funds he was expected to spend on food went un-touched, unspent for over half a year. It wasn’t a ridiculous amount of money but it was significant, hopefully enough to acquire Lella’s services. A sort of smile shimmered across his face, “I don’t really have any great doubt that you’ll be able to do it” If experience assured him of anything it wouldn’t be too difficult, his ally Logan had been able to walk off with an ancient manuscript without much trouble, hopefully maps of the area weren’t kept under tighter lock and key. |

Lella's mouth fell open. Money was his carrot for this horse? The photomancer rubbed his forehead and chuckled to himself. This was about being a good person, not a thief. He could possible make copies or, yes that would be perfect. He stuck his hands into his pockets in a way that was mimicking Lenny's. "I won't do this for money. I'll do this because you seem good. Personally I don't want you to be hurt by not having the knowledge." Lella smirked mischievously after that. "And for payment I'd rather have your name. I have a strong feeling we will meet each other again. We might even be destined to be friends, and having an elementalist who can harness the energy of the sun can't be a bad choice." Lella was ready to go to the castle and activate his plan. However, he needed to know just how good this stranger really was. In the past stranger's had hurt him when they got what they wanted and he wasn't about to get hurt over paper. It struck the boy odd that someone who explored the wilds around hyakuji would want maps instead of making some up as he went. What was out there that only maps could give him? It didn't make much of a difference, if one of the maps had a secret on their he wouldn't give it to the stranger. Then again, if he got in trouble for handing over the maps and his superiors demanded they know who took them, he needed a name to tell them. Lella would lie though because he didn't like friends getting into trouble on his account. The photomancer looked towards the creature on the shoulder, there was something else he needed to know and the library must have something else on it. |

He had expected this business to be more costly. Sure, Lenny considered his name to be worth something, probably around like 50 bucks to be honest. So he considered the deal to be well worth it. The chance to know things he had possibly missed, things that only people such as the elemancers could know, was worth the cost. “If that’s what payment you want, my name is Lenny Barrons” he gave a bit of a mischievous smile that may have looked similar to Lella’s, a pantomime for a pantomime as it was. Lenny was unsure of whether the boy was joking with overconfidence or casually referring to his power. Lenny considered the sun to have many aspects, all of them powerful, but he was unsure if he could believe the person in front of him had significant power. “I mean, if this transaction is to amount to anything we kind of have to meet again, don’t we?” Maybe he meant it metaphorically, but Lenny was one to find the literal meaning in metaphors. “But I thank you for helping me” Lenny didn’t really want the maps for any specific piece of information. There were a few anomalies he hoped to find, some explanation to some of the strange phenomena he had seen, Dairu’s crystal laboratory, the Sakura obelisk, the Chinese Alchemists’ lab. But it was information, information that was merely a curiosity, but worth the payment. |

Lenny Barrons? It was a cool name though his own was hardly something to brag about. The boy before him smiled in a way that seemed mocking to Lella. What was there to care about that though when he was soon to go on an adventure! He was filled with excitement in both helping someone and learning more about himself. "Yeah, I suppose we do. We can meet later because." Lella looked back towards the castle as he spoke softer, "I don't even know how long it will take." The photomancer looked back towards Lenny. He was a good soul and if this boy before him too really needed to maps for research there wasn't anything bad in there. Besides, he had said before that another person helped him out so obviously the others knew about him. Maps were filled with a variety of things and getting them out would be, well he didn't know. How could he know what to do? He smiled warmer this time, a genuine smile of happiness this time. "Well Lenny, I'm glad to help you out. Call me Lella, Lella Cerului. Let's say we meet up back here tonight? If that's okay with you of course. I don't really have a solid way of announcing to you that I got the maps. And I hope you will be alright coming back here this evening before dorms are closed. Is that okay with you?" It was a half truth though. He did have a way to inform Lenny that he was ready but he wanted some time to do a few things before he handed them off. Lella wasn't going to just give up the maps for only a name, that was pointless. Though a name held a lot of power it was just a name here. He needed trust and he needed time. |

Lenny was glad to see that his ally had some sense of how difficult this could be. He appreciated people who knew their limits, they were all the more likely to get things done. But overall Lenny was intent, minimal payment to satisfy his own wonderings. A possible ally? That was a possibility but Lenny was aware that he had a degree of difficulty making many long lasting alliances, not to mention friendships. “Yeah, sure. I’ll be able to meet back up. It’ll be a bit of a rush but . . .” He checked his phone for the time. “Yeah I should have time, it will be fairly not difficult” He had gone over the calculations of time to get his cylinders back to his dorm before time ran out. Just a matter of relaying it between haemonculi he had been keeping up in the forest. A few switch offs here and there and he should be able to make it back by the allotted time. Though he did wonder why such an immediate meeting was necessary. Probably just needed to give an estimate, scope out the place a bit possibly before he could give Lenny an honest amount of time it would take him to secure the necessary documents. |

Lella turned around and began walking towards the castle. "If you think of anything else you want, now would be the time to stop me." He spoke with a casual tilt in his voice. It was almost as if he wanted to be stopped. Though even if the boy was going to be stopped he wouldn't. He already had his mind on a track that needed his full attention. There was nothing that could derail him except for the obstacles he now faced. There were plenty of people among the elemental crowd that could destroy him or make his life a living hell. He chuckled to himself and waved behind him to Lenny. The poor boy didn't know what he was getting into. He couldn't remember the last time he went to a library but he remembered he could make copies. Reaching into his back pocket he felt how much change he held in his back pocket. Stopping he looked back at Lenny. It felt good to help someone out finally. After being in school for a few months he hardly did anything with others. All he did was go to class. Luckily he had finished all his studying and assignments for the week and had a chance to come down here. Then he met a strange boy who wanted some maps. Now he was headed to the map room of the castle to find out if he could make copies. This was going to be fun. Edited by Red Squirrel, Feb 4 2014, 11:04 AM.

Lenny made no attempt to stop him or provide any other information. The time line Lella had given to him was strict and he immediately sent out the necessary mental pulses to ready his haemonculi. A scant 15 minutes later he was sitting in a cove meditating, when a pack of haemonculi came to relieve him of his canisters. He spent the rest of the time mentally maneuvering them from the forest, through the streets, and finally back into his dorm, unseen the whole time. Hours had passed and as he stood from his crosslegged position he returned to the spot they had been at previously, two Hunter haemonculi following a distance behind him as his Phylactery waited a few hundred yards away. In the intervening time he wondered what kind of estimate Lella would make. He was unsure if the boy would even be successful in evaluating the difficulty of the task yet, was it customary to show new students the libraries there? Or was the place more open with information than he originally thought, maybe Lenny’s inner desire for caution and concealment had caused him to expect a reflection in the elemancer organization. He leaned against the same tree and waited. |

Time was strange to Lella. One minute felt like fifteen but this was because he was so anxious to get on with the task he was given. Inside the building he spent at least an hour trying to find his way to someone who could help him. No one seemed that interesting in helping him find places. Half of the people he did stumble upon tried to push him towards going to a training floor! While he admired their spirit for training he was busy with something else. Eventually he found some strange creature and approached it. "Library please?" was all he spoke and it seemed to know where it was. Finally some answers, he hoped. It was hard to describe the creature, some strange floating mouse like thing. It was cute, that was for sure, so very cute. It was also very helpful. It only took about thirty minutes to go from where he was to the library, not that he would remember it much though. He wasn't good at directions, just going. Once in the library though he was able to locate various maps and archeological papers. It was all fantastically archived in a simple and easy manner. All of the tools he needed to expand his mind and his power. He spent another hour in the library after he located the maps just looking around. There were so many books and so many stories. Lella couldn't contain his curiosity, but he forced himself to. Looking at the table he set the maps on he wondered, was it really safe. There were many secret entrances on that map. He knew what to do though to protect it. It was a total of three hours from the time he left Lenny to the time he was ready. Taking his time to head to a window he looked out. If the boy was out there, he'd know Lella was ready. "Okay Lenny, let's hope you understand my message." Lella raised a palm and twisted it left then right, his eyes flashing with a glint of something inside him. With a pop there were four orbs of light, varying color but all the same size as a golf ball. He pushed them with his hand outside the window leaving a few scorch marks on the window, they were made of sunlight. "You need to locate Lenny. He should be the only boy out there at this time sitting around waiting. He's got a unique look on things so you shouldn't miss him." The Orbs flew outward towards their target. Each one taking a different direction. All the time Lella was standing by the window with a glazed look on his face. If one of the orbs located Lenny he would know because he would feel a rise in strength in himself. Then again if Lenny had no idea what they were and attacked well, he'd find himself a bit taken back by their explosive nature. One orb had located the other boy. It hovered from a distance just waiting. It was behind him but it felt the presence of something else out there, a ward of sorts. Its counterparts seemed to sense it had stopped and began making their way over. After around five minutes the boy would have noticed them by now. They were surrounding him and just hovered there as if they were waiting for something. |

The sharp eyes of Lenny’s minions noted the descending orbs of light. A possible sign from his man on the inside? or a security system that would point him out? Lenny was unsure which one the lights were but remained where he was, it would do better to stand if the worse were to come, if the Elemancers found him he doubted he would be able to escape them easily. He stood flanked by two Hunter haemonculi, each one eyeing the shadows with dark eyes that saw as well in the dark as in the light. Though not visible Lenny felt the mental tug of his Phylactery, waiting in the dark of the woods like a vengeful deity. Lenny thought he was adequately prepared if anything were to occur, he was ready on the defense and he would easily be able to retreat into the heart of the woods. He had a feeling the Elemancers were not too well acquainted with the lands outside of the edges of their castle. Noting the lights Lenny waited. |

Lella had trouble carrying some of the note he had with him so he was forced to put them all in a bundle. Well, half of it that is. There were papers he folded up neatly and strapped together with some bands of string he manage to find from some of the other elementalists. He had crafted a tube out of some of the large maps he had snagged from the library as well. So in all, all his hands were taken. His eyes were not and from his vantage point in the tower he could see exactly where Lenny was waiting. It wasn't even that far, just a five minute walk into the woods. His orbs had focused on tracking the energy that a person gave off, sort of like photosynthesis in the opposite direction. Since most people absorbed light he just altered the state of the orbs he emitted so that they would be pulled towards the sort of energy that Lenny might expel. At first he was shaken up that it might not have worked, Lenny might not have been a normal person who soaked up sun energy and slowly dispelled it. Troubles aside, he was now walking through the woods. It was starting to get dark outside and that meant trouble for him. He knew there were strange creatures out in the dark. CRASH!! "Ah darn it! Not again." he muttered to himself as he tripped over a rock poking out of the ground. At this rate he was going to arrive ten minutes later. Stepping over a log he looked out into the darkening woods. It reminded him of a video game he loved. Didn't matter now what it was called because he felt as if he were in it. Locating the brilliantly bright orbs of sunlight were easy because, well, they glowed. He was able to get there in seven minutes time, not that anyone was counting that was. As he approached the area where Lenny was waiting the young photomancer tripped again but this time on his face. He couldn't stop himself from falling due to filled hands. So he did the only thing he could do, project the sunlight from the orbs towards him. It was not a good idea. As soon as the orbs received a new signal from there creator they moved under him. The light, as soon as it hit him, vanished. "Oh man, I am so sorry Lenny! I wasn't thinking. I just acted! At least I'm here though right?" He started to talk but stopped as he sat up. The forest was calming in the evening light of the sun. With a smile he located Lenny, or what he thought was Lenny. "So I'm here and you're here. Ready for this trade off?" |

As Lella fell Lenny was once again reminded that Lella was not a forest person. Lenny didn’t really suffer any disadvantages from the light going out, his haemonculi could see in the dark and he was currently using their senses. Lenny, obscured by darkness, was glad to see that Lella had succeeded so quickly. Next to him were two tiger sized Hunter haemonculi. “Don’t worry, the darkness isn’t too great of a disadvantage to me. So do you just hand over the maps? I’ve already given you my name I believe” Lella’s appearance with the maps now surprised Lenny beyond all belief, he in no way had thought the Elemancers were loose enough to allow such a young initiate to get information that he assumed was ancient and old. Maybe Lenny had the wrong idea of the Elemancers, maybe Lella wasn’t even necessary at all, Lenny could have just requested access possibly. No matter, I got them now Lenny stepped forward, eager to feel the weight of the graphs in his hand. |

Lella had to think for a second. Should he hand them over just like that? They were quite a find and it was difficult to find them, and Lenny at that. The young photomancer leaned back on the ground and just looked up at the sky. It was strange how needy Lenny had become. The look on his face when Lenny saw him was odd too. There was something wrong about this, something that neither one was ready nor willing to actually state. It didn't really matter all that much though. They were here, he would be gone and moving on with his life. Lella really wanted to see this strange guy again though. With effort he stood up and brushed off his pants. That's when he realised some of the maps he had gotten were covered in mud. "Oh no! I just screw up things. Let me just." He raised a fist and slowly opened his palm. It was a very slow reaction but happened none the less. His palm began to emit what at first seemed to be sparkles. After a few seconds the light began to grow into a beam, a wide beam much like a flashlight. Lella took a breath and waved the light around the ground to get a feel of where the maps he had dropped were. Once he located all of them he dropped his hand and shook it off as if it were burning. "Wooh that was dangerous. Okay, so." he picked up the maps laying around his feet and stepped closer to Lenny. "here are your maps. The mud should be dry now, turned to dirt. I hope that's not too much of a problem." Lella smiled and waited for the stranger or his creatures to come retrieve the parchments. |

Lenny’s hands grasped the dirty maps firmly. He was a bit unsatisfied with their dirty state, but he was far more glad to have them in his hands currently. The display of light confirmed to Lenny that Lella had some type of light based powers, illumination primarily. “Thank you for your assistance” he replied cordially as the light fell and the creature on his shoulder let out a chittering noise. “I’m sorry to leave after such an equitable exchange but I would prefer nothing more happen to these” His two Hunter heamonculi began to leave as he said this, stalking off into the deep darkness of the light. “I will remember what you have done for me favorably” Lenny himself turned and moved to follow the two hunting beasts. |
