Image
Soulwatch Vanguard Uniform

Occupation: Student
Grade Level: 3rd
Powers/ Abilities:
Psion: Mind Sensor- Feline's most used power is her Telepathy. Feline can 'hear' thoughts in the same way that another person hears voices, and in addition she can see any visual images or sensations that come with these thoughts. This is very literal - a thought is registered in the same way as a word would be. The intensity of what she senses depends on the intensity of the thought itself. A regular, day-to-day thought would have the volume of a word said in a conversational tone, and if she is too far away to hear any words the target says in a normal tone, then she can't hear the thought either. If a thought is incredibly intense, such as the pain of a broken leg, the person might as well be screaming to Feline's mind. If she is too far away to hear a regular scream, though, she'd not be able to hear the mental one, et cetera. If a thought is a tiny something that people try to hide in the back of their heads, such as an incredibly perverted fantasy, Feline can't hear them, or only as a tiny whisper with vague images. Feline's psionic powers have adjusted her to the amount of thoughts around her - if there are 5 people or less around her, she can pick out and process their thoughts as easily as if there was just 1 person. This effect is there to prevent her from going insane from constantly having indistinct but loud noisy thoughts around her. She can also focus on a single person when surrounded by more to read only their thoughts and block those around her out. This half of her telepathic powers is always on. This power also works the other way around. Feline's thoughts are projected on those around her, making their minds register her thoughts as if they were sounds reaching their ears. They cannot see images or feel sensations like Feline herself can. Just like when it goes the other way around, depending on the intensity of Feline's thoughts, the sound they hear becomes more intense or less. Feline can turn this part of her power off, so people around her don't hear her own thoughts all the time.

Switcher: Sentinel Shell- Feline has a set of lightweight, soul-bound armor, the uniform of a Soulwatch Guardian with the Vanguard specialization. She can summon this equipment from her own mind and dismiss it again freely, even if damaged. Switcher cannot be used if Feline is already wearing something similar to body armor (regular clothing is somehow always covered by the uniform) or if her psionic powers are blocked. Nobody knows how Feline manages to fit her ample chest inside of the Uniform, but somehow she does. The empowered armor functions more like a psi-powered forcefield rather than an actual armor, deflecting weapon fire, lessening the damage caused by explosives, and redirecting other incoming attacks. If an attack is strong enough, such as a large caliber bullet or a sword strike augmented with magic or enhanced strength, it will simply pierce through the forcefield, though their power will be reduced. When it comes down to direct force, the forcefield has about the strength of a light bulletproof vest, capable of stopping small arms fire but only reducing the power from something like a shotgun blast. If the armor is broken, Feline will get a headache proportional to the damage taken by the armor. Small scratches would be a light, barely noticeable ache, while shattering the entire thing would knock her unconscious. If the armor is dismissed while damaged, then regardless of the amount of damage taken, it cannot be summoned again for 2 posts. After those two posts, it will be entirely repaired again.

Switcher: Tactical Trooper- Feline has a soul-bound cannon, the weapon of a Soulwatch Vanguard. She can summon this equipment from her own mind and dismiss it again freely, even if damaged. Switcher cannot be used if Feline is already holding something. Only one Tactical Trooper can exist at any time. When not empowered, the cannon seems to be made out of plastic, appearing no more realistic or dangerous than a regular big plastic tube. When empowered, the Tactical Trooper weapon functions as a cannon firing psionic energy. The Tactical Trooper loads 1 shot per post. This means the Tactical Trooper can, technically, fire once every post. However, Feline cal also save up to a maximum of six bullets. There is no limit to how many bullets can be fired in one post, only how many she can have loaded. A Tactical Trooper shot has no explosive effect, since it is a psionic attack. However, the physical piercing force is incredibly powerful, capable of annihilating small vehicles from 50 meters away. The force reduces beyond 50, and at 100 meters the shot winks out. A small charge time is needed before firing the Tactical Trooper cannon, though, giving any opponents a clear warning in the form of a bright blue glow coming from the barrel and several small exhausts on the Tactical Trooper cannon. When not firing it, the cannon can be employed as a melee weapon, since it is surprisingly lightweight.

Personality Description:
The first thing that can be noticed about Feline is that she is a very... timid girl. She doesn't really enjoy talking all that much, preferring to use her telepathic powers to communicate with others. Not exactly shy or reluctant to engage in contact, Feline simply dislikes being in the center of attention.

Feline is also very easily embarrassed. Having been raised by an enclave of the Soulwatch Guardians in rural Zeeland, she had a lot of interaction with people who held strongly to their religious views in this world of supernatural beings. She has been influenced by this, and while she is not prudish, she dislikes discussing matters of a sexual nature, especially considering the images that come with them.

Timid and easily embarrassed, but there is one thing Feline never is. Scared. From a young age, Soulwatch Guardians are raised to have an incredible mental resistance to fear and anything else that might stress them enough to make their psionic powers useless. The most frightening images you can imagine have been imprinted into Feline's mind in her youth. Where many fell, she stood. Regardless of any other feelings, nothing short of a supernatural intervention can make Feline lose her calm to the point that her psionic powers become useless.

Personal History:
Born to an Italian mother and a Dutch father in the dutch province of Zeeland, Feline was a fairly normal girl. She liked to play with dolls, she enjoyed riding horses, she absolutely adored dolphins, and she more than once pulled their cat's tail as a baby. What was unusual about her was that she was a natural psionic, like her father, though her mother had learned to harness her mind's power at a later time.

Though she herself had many normal aspects, her upbringing did not. Both her parents were a part of the Soulwatch Guardians, a mostly European-based organization of psionics dedicated to the advancement of psionic implants and chemical boosters, the training of existing psionics so they do not hurt those around them, and most importantly, teaching those who are willing and capable how to unlock the powers of their mind.

The Soulwatch Guardians are not a secret organization - it would make their goals nearly impossible, after all. Elementary school, middle school, first two years of high school, no problemo. Sure, she was raised as a psionic, but nobody bothered despite her living in the Netherlands' bible belt. Seriously, psionic powers are totally normal, why do you think that it's strange they're accepted?

At age 16, less than a year ago, she expressed her wish to study abroad, in Hyakuji to be exact. Learning about psionic powers was good, but if she remained ignorant of the abilities of others, it would not be good for her development. Her parents agreed, and allowed her to study in Hyakuji, where she still remains today.

Thank you for your profile, I've looked over your profile, and these are some things that required addressed in your powers.

Mind Sensor -
I would say that the 25 people limit is way too high and needs to be lowered quite a bit. I would also like the range of her power, for both the first, and second part.

Sentinel Shell -
I would like to know the maximum force that shield can take, and the maximum time the shield can be up for. Depending on the maximum force the shield can take, there may not be the need for a time limit.

Deadly Shell -
This is the biggest problem at the moment. The guns are going to have have their power reduced by a lot, starting from changing the bullet type. The .45 hollow-point is going to need to be changed, and given the kind of power this is, I would also like to see some kind of maximum ammo capacity.

Changed everything except for the ammo limit. This power derived inspiration from the Cantata power used by Lucid Talleyrand, whose summoned weapons do not have an ammo limit either.

It's been said a thousand times and I will say it again... every profile is approved on a case by case basis.

Throwing another player's profile back as a rebuttal isn't going to accomplish anything. As it currently is the lack of an ammo restriction can't be accepted as it has been in the referenced profile.

There's a very critical drawback to Lucid's power which comes unsurprisingly right after the bit about unlimited ammo:

...as she keeps on singing. When she stops singing, both the weapon and its projectiles disappear automatically.

This is a very severe drawback in my book (and definitely both more so and more defined than the one you have used which can only really be a thing when you allow it) and it is why I gave the power a pass. There are about a hundred different ways I could think up various situations where someone's ability to sing could be limited or restricted. And note that, when that is the case not only does the weapon vanish but even any projectiles that happen to be flying around in the moment.

Go look at any comic with Black Canary in it to see how gimped sound-spawned powers can be.

So unless you want to 100% clone Lucid's power the answer is still no.

Man, I'll be honest and I am sorry to drag this out more, but I still really dunno about this gun power.

Since it's a frame of reference, the Lucid profile reads like it's firing spiritual/magical energy LIKE said weapon. This one is using similar energy to make the real weapon that functions as if it has the real ammo and everything. Let alone the fact that dual uzi's will be insane.

You hit anyone ever and, barring a defensive power, they really have no story outs other than to be dead or maimed. Rule of cool you can shrug off a gunshot here or there cinematic style. Being riddled with holes is a whole other game.

And how can you even track the 200 bullet limit when you're using double-uzi's?

Edited and changed Deadly Chaser to Tactical Trooper. If TT is too powerful, tips on how to make it acceptable would be welcome.
