Profile Notes
Levia "Good job, you now have my attention~" Levia Caras is a character played by Fallen_shinku. Half-Greek and half German, though with roots that expand to almost every corner of Eurasia, Leva hails from an ancient lineage of magus. For countless generations, the Caras family have been an influential and noteworthy factor of the Mage's Association. Though by no means royalty, or anything of such nature or grandeur, the mention of the name would be enough to turn some heads within certain circles. However, it wasn't always so that the Caras family were such upstanding and respected members of the family. As with houses of power, they were built upon the bones of others. Of course, looking at Levia, there would be no way one could tell that. Appearance One could say one of two things about Levia; whether he is incredibly stylish or just plain outlandish. But, regardless on whether he has good taste or not, the foreigner is more than capable of turning a few heads, though perhaps not for all the same reason. The first things one would notice about Levia would be his ostentatious sense of style, both anti-symmetric and and in cool, bright colors. Indeed, he looks like one who have just stepped out of a fantasy novel. Or a cosplay convention. Secondly, the boy wears his hair in a long ponytail, that fact that his hair also happens to be a fair golden blonde makes him seem just like a girl from behind. And in front too. With sharp features, and large, slanted eyes, Levia definitively sticks out in the predominantly Japanese crowds of Hyakuji. Abilities Though a student of magecraft, studying magic and being a user of said craft are two completely different things. There are many individuals who can weave together thaumaturge without ever cracking open a textbook or attending a single lecture. And there are also individuals who spend their entire lives studying the subject without ever being able to utter the most mundane of spells. Potential in magic is a whimsical thing; though lineage and training can help, what finally determines one's potiential, and progress with magic, is fate. Sadly, Levia belongs to the second group. Despite being a member of a renowned family of magus', the heir had inherited nothing more than its name. Though he had studied elementary magecraft for over a decade, the boy has yet to be able to call upon anything more than the most fundamental of spells. Thus, it can be concluded that Levia's ability with general magic, is relatively null. Soulless Vassal “No Name" ![]() "Every Anima consists of two halves; a blade and a soul." Levia's sword, given to him when he came to the age of eight. All members of the Caras family receive a specially enchanted blade when they begin their careers as mages; to serve as both a tool, and as a symbol of house Caras. However, it is rare that one has a career as nonexistent as Levia's. It is said that these personal blades stay with their owners until their deaths. Then, through a myriad of means, all find ways back to the Caras Estate, no matter where they were prior. No Name is, to a degree, a sentient sword. Though it cannot engage in dialogue or the like, it is capable of, to an extent, feeling intent and emotions of those around it. Aside from that unique trait, No Name also has the ability of being completely independent, meaning that it can freely manoeuvre itself without any external manipulation. In essence, No Name could be called a “flying sword”. Being an enchanted blade, No Name also has strong physical parameters. It cannot be destroyed through brute strength alone (At least not any a human should be capable of), though any means that would have an effect enchanted and/or magical items would affect No Name also. That is to say, as with most magical swords, you would probably need to throw it into a volcano or something to destroy it through none magical means. At its maxim, No Name is capable of plunging through steel, though that would require it to accelerate a thrust from a sizable distance (ten meters). Beginning Spring "Anima Lethe" ![]() There is no one left. Not even a single soul. Where have they all gone? I'm... all alone now... Levia's familiar Anima, given to him when he left Europe to take up residence in Hyakuji. One of the age-old artifacts that resided in the Caras family vault, it was, again, meant to only serve as a symbol rather than of any practical usage during his excursion. When drawn, Levia is able to conjure a bursting geyser within a five meter distance from himself, on any large enough surface. The geyser itself is slightly warmer than your typical hot spring, but nowhere near hot enough to cause burns and the such. The geyser erupts with enough force to lift a small car, such as a coupe or sedan, and is approximately of one to two meter radius. However, note that Levia can only summon a geyser when he draws Lethe; the fountain will stay in effect until Lethe is sheathed or until Lethe's blade is broken. If broken, Lethe's magical abilities will be nullified for the rest of the thread. Note, the actions of drawing and sheathing Lethe requires one post; and Levia can only summon a geyser as he draws the blade. Meaning, if he doesn't conjures a geyser during the act of drawing, Levia must sheathe and draw Lethe again before being able to have a chance to use its ability. Physically, the sword is of no greater sturdiness than a nonmagical counterpart of similar make. Endless Summer “Anima Helblindi" ![]() Everyone is gone. Even the sun had gone cold and died. Even the green earth has turned brown. I'm... suffering? An Anima sent to Levia from Europe after the continuing escalation of events in Hyakuji. Along with the sudden reappearance of Edda's Anima, word has been spreading that an individual with much similarity to the fugitive magus Lyle have been spotted in Hyakuji. With the growing number of threats, the main house have taken this additional step to protect their heir apparent. Unlike most other Anima, Helblindi holds the unique position of having multiple owners. Usually, when a member of the house dies, their Anima is placed into what is only known as the "Vault", to serve as memento of their former owners. It could be called a lexicon, detailing every single member of the main family since time immemorial. Others refer to it disdainfully as a mass grave. And yet others claim it to be a repertoire of powerful magic weapons, each forged with one's life. However, in actuality, most of the Anima within the vault are obsolete; mute pieces of metal which serve as nothing more than a memento. As a Caras' life supply their Anima energy, a Caras' death gives it form. However, not everyone, even in such an esteemed bloodline, were born, or lived, as heroes. Unsurprisingly, most lead uneventful, if privileged lives. And died mundane deaths. Helblindi is not one of these. An ornate blade, adorned with gold and a large ruby and straight edge, an experienced user of weapons would be able to tell immediately that it is neither balanced, or tempered as a weapon. And that is so; out of all Levia's blades, Helblindi could be considered the most frail. Its physical parameters even pale compared to kitchen knives. However, its unique ability is that, upon being drawn, it releases a massively concentrated dome of prana. This burst is so condensed that it physically produces wavelengths upon the EMR spectrum, visible to others as a blinding flash of light. However, since wavelengths are created in almost every section of the spectrum, different instruments would detect this pulse differently. If tested in a laboratory setting, one would find that most of the wavelengths produced are long radio waves, and the amount produced reduces drastically as the wavelength decreases. In essence, this means that Helblindi acts as a giant radio transmitter when drawn, though the only thing that it can transmit is massive amounts of white noise. When unsheathed, any nearby equipment that receives EMR wavelength would be affected. Additionally, instruments sensitive to magical energy would experience similar effects. This cloud of deafening light engulfs instantaneously to a maximum range of five meters in every open direction, propelled by a prana burst from the blade. Note, that this dome only designates the range of the immediate effects of the weapon which will be listed below. Obviously, seeing the dome, or detection of it via any of the methods listed above would have a significantly higher scope. Objects in the area would come across a transfer of literal energy. The area becomes superheated for a brief moment. Usually, under such circumstances, such objects would melt if they were to reside in such temperatures for an extended duration. However, as the flash lasts but a few seconds (one post), nonfragile items will remain relatively undamaged. This does, however, allow certain materials, such as metal, to cause second degree burns upon the skin, and if the circumstances allow, combust nearby flammable material (clothe, alcohol, oil etc.). Due to being prana-based in nature, this ability also classifies itself as a form of magecraft. Techniques which prohibit thaumaturgy will also stop it. Additionally, Helblindi's sheathe will protect anything it is in contact with from the above effects. And note, due to possessing semi-closed prana of their own, Helblindi is unable to affect people or other, living, organic beings with its burning effect. Levia can only use this ability once every five posts, as Helblindi needs to recharge over a rather lengthy period in order to regain all the expended prana. Perhaps its most blatant drawback, however, is exactly how blatant the effect is. After use, it would probably catch the attention of every individual in the immediate area (and a block away), friendly and perhaps not so. Probably not so. Opera Magna “Edda” ![]() A spell that Levia could call his own, though not because he had learned it through extraneous study, or was it god-given by miraculous talent. It was a simple product of his lineage, as a member of the Caras family. A spell that had been so instrumental in the Caras' rise to prominence that is has been ingrained into their very genealogy, passed down generation after generation. It is the unique trait that allows all members of the Caras line to interchange familiars. Additionally, this ability allows Levia to call forth his Anima(s), regardless of his current location and status. This, however, requires the boy to recite an aria, followed by the name of the Anima he wishes to call forth. Calling forth an Anima will take one post. However, after the frequent exposure to the Anima, Levia now is able to have up to two Anima active at any one time. Additionally, for a limited time, Levia can call forth all of their Anima. This state lasts for ten posts, and also includes a subtle personality shift. When Levia engages this, their left pupil will adopt a green pigmentation. Though, for whatever reason... Personality The first thing that one might think when meeting Levia would probably be his mild manners. He speaks in a polite and soft tone, and is one to hardly ever raise his voice. Of course, with such an pampered upbringing one can expect him to be an epitome of behaviour and etiquette. He walks with a dignified step, head held high, and a sly smile always upon his face. A bit of a preacher, he doesn't seem to hold any back any bars with his opinions; though the blonde will only share so through the most roundabout and colourful way as possible. Always punctual, and with an unshakable sense of time, Levia exudes an aura of calmness and control, regardless of situation. However, that would be a mere facade. Or, being “professional”, as he would put it. Those that are close to or are familiar with him will all say that he's a bum. Not in the sense of an homeless individual or anatomically speaking, but that Levia is, simply put, slothful. Though it wouldn't be quite accurate to call the boy lazy; whimsical would be a better definer. Levia tends to do as he wishes, now that he is away from the watchful eye of his family. This usually means that he can usually be found dozing off somewhere on his free time. A flair for dramaticism, Levia is also rather flamboyant, and enjoys the occasional poking light-hearted jests between those he call friends. However, that isn't to say that Levia is completely complacent, he tends to finish the thing he does starts, and can get rather riled up, especially when his family is brought up. In fact, the boy has minute perfectionist tendency; sadly, it all seems focused into the most irrelevant and nonsensical things. He's the kind of person who would stop to right a picture frame, but wouldn't give a second thought upon wearing mismatching socks. History An established family, with generations upon generations of prestige and magical finesse in Europe. A life of comforts and luxury, second only to nobles, kings and queens. However, it wasn't a position earned by diving right, but of decades and centuries of craftsmanship, talent, and ingenuity. And it is only kept there through intrigue, politics and ability. This was the world that Levia was born to. And one that his family soon found him ill-suited for. Like every member of such an esteemed house, it was expected of Levia to become a prominent magus. After all, for such a long line, said to have dated back over five hundred years, it was the only path. Thankfully, from a young age, Levia showed interest in the folds of magecraft. Ever since he first began understanding language and the mysteries hidden within written texts, Levia frequented that family's library, or their bestiary. However, as it became apparent with his enrollment into the Mage's Association, the heir simply lacked ability. A simple thing known as talent. Now, not all bearers of the Caras' name were magical geniuses, but all have had the potential to perform above par magecraft. Levia was borne with the ability to do none. As with most things that dictate the parameters of people, such a process is mostly genetics, with an added sprinkling of random chance, or, as perhaps those more romantic would say, destiny or fate. However, for such a refined pedigree as a Caras, such a black sheep has been unheard of. However, there was simply nothing could be done; everyone had already known about the the new heir apparent. It was impossible to conceal it now. And thus, Levia Caras grew up as the ridiculed sheep of a family of titans. Now, it should be noted that Levia was no slouch. In fact, his studies were progressing decently, making up for application with theory. Despite not being able to weave a single cant, Levia became quite knowledgeable upon differing schools of magecraft, official or pagan, alchemy and forms of magic. However, even sheep were fair game in a war of intrigue. Despite their standing, not everyone was a friend of the family. As with most things, especially when people get involved, there is competition. Though no one would outright declare war on the house, there is a continuous rat race between all parties of the Magus Association. Rather than one of conquest of necessity, it is a war of prestige and pride. And none felt it more than the black sheep of Caras. It eventually grew to a point that even fellow family members began to distance themselves from him, stopping conversations when he came near and continuing in hushed mutters when he walked off. Of course, it never became blatantly aggressive, but Levia could definitively see the spark of distaste flicker from the corner of their eyes. But what was he to do? This was the only home he knew, and the only life he had ever lived. Thoughts about the future scared him; it was obvious that he would get no where as a mage. But he couldn't just roll over into a “regular” career either. Neither his family or pride would allow that. As with all stories, an initial event sparked a series of, well, events. One day, something unprecedented, unthinkable, happened. The Caras vault had been plundered. Being such an established family, the household had established a vast collection of items, magical or otherwise, particularly during more bloodier times. These were stored in a secure location at the family's estate, under heavy lock and key. And then some. It was a near miracle that someone could actually break in. This worried Levia's parents; though they weren't particularly monetarily valuable, many of the items in the families' storage were of magical origins, and could prove disastrous when placed into the wrong hands. Not to mention all the embarrassment it caused. Then, salt was added to the wound, as investigations turned the main suspect to be Lyle Caras, Levia's cousin. Eyes of rejection turned into mocking laughter and hushed gossip. To think, that one of their own would do something like this. Finally, in an attempt to reestablish the family image, and to remove any other blatantly sore points, Levia's parents arranged him for oversea studies. Though, rumors say that a hooded blonde mage has been seen around Hyakuji... Quotes Not Yet Available Trivia
