December XX, XXXX

Snow had finally accumulated within Hyakuji to give the city its winter wonderland feel, snow pushed aside from the roads and sidewalks for activity. Many stores had gone Christmas themed as early as November but it was in full swing now, shop owners putting out cardboard cutouts with anime styled girls in Santa outfits. Some of the owners even had live girls do their advertising wearing the outfits, ringing their bells to attract customers if the beauties in outfits weren't enough.

Artemis was wearing light winter wear since it was still day and the temperatures were still decent, as long as they didn't stand out there all day. She was accompanied by her date, Dakota Anthony. The two were holding hands as they walked close to one another, Artemis smiling up at Dakota from time to time as they made their way to the theater, "Hey Dakota," Artemis said in an asking tone, "I don't care that we're getting looks, as long as me and you are together and happy, that's all that matters."

Normally, Dakota might have snuck peeks at the cuties wearing Santa outfits, but she was definitely more preoccupied by the one holding her hand. This was, so far as Dakota was concerned, the first day she'd felt any real sense of meaning.

Still, they were getting looks, which did make her a bit uncomfortable. She was a bit preoccupied, since she could actually tell which ones were the 'girl on girl is hot' ones, and which ones were the more disdainful ones. Thankfully, ironically, the earlier were far more common than the later.

Dakota snapped out of it when Artemis told her, and she smiled. Artemis couldn't be more true; she knew well before she'd even gotten into her first relationship here that she was going to get some unpleasant attention for being with another girl, but she'd accept that. "Right. I'm glad that you're with me. I think the other people we trust, our friends, will be accepting." She imagined some of them would be surprised. Well, she imagined more it would apply to Artemis's friends than her own. Dakota was pretty butch, and there was the occasional rumor (which were, of course, true) that she might be lesbian.

"I think so too," Artemis said with a smile, continuing to hold Dakotas hand. Artemis continued on with a cheery face, making her way to the theater with Dakota in hand. "Here we are," Artemis said after reaching the entrance, "Time to go watch it." Artemis giggled, releasing Dakotas hand and then rushing inside. From a distance, it seemed Artemis was a kid and Dakota her mother, only given the current situation if Dakota did not join her right away. "Let's share popcorn and a soda, if you'd like," Artemis said, turning to her, "We're gonna have to get a huge drink cause I drink a lot."

Artemis pulled out her wallet, ready to pay for everything. She looked through her wallet, pulling out a card and smiling to Dakota. One hundred percent of Artemis' funds came from her parents, giving it to her as allowance as well as spending money and needs. Although they were a little strict, they wanted to make sure she was living comfortably without stress. Of course, if she ended up doing something she wasn't supposed to with the money, they'd immediately put a hold on everything for a short while.

Having a calmer nature than Artemis, Dakota moved to the short line for the tickets slower than Artemis, though still at a reasonable pace. It's not like she took much longer to get their, though the smile she gave when she saw Artemis ran ahead would have reinforced the false 'mother-daughter' view someone might see.

Artemis suggested sharing popcorn and a large soda "Right. And since this is movie-theater size we're talking about, we should be able to actually have enough with a large." she smirked. Dakota and Artemis both had big appetites, to say the least. Not that they were capable of herculean feats of eating that might qualify as a power, but certainly they could eat a lot.

Dakota felt a bit bad for Artemis paying for the whole thing, all things considered, but she let it slide. Well, so far, her first real date was going smoothly, so she flashed Artemis a smile.

Artemis gave Dakota a thumbs up when Dakota added the bit about the size of theater drinks, smirking as well. Artemis gave Dakota a smile back, finishing up with the payment of their food and tickets. After getting their tickets, Artemis walked alongside Dakota with popcorn in one hand and large soda in the other. Artemis looked up at Dakota while she sucked away at some soda, smiling with the straw between her lips.

"It's been a while since I saw a movie in theaters," Artemis said after swallowing the bit of soda, "After the movie, let's play some of the arcade games here; they have some cool prizes!" Upon arriving at the ticket checker, Artemis let go of the popcorn and soda, causing some workers to panic but quickly assured them they weren't gonna fall due to Artemis' powers. A sigh of relief could be heard from some, glad they didn't have to clean up. "In we go!" Artemis said with excitement, "You pick the seats for us."

Dakota smiled back to Artemis. Really, this day was going absolutely perfectly. The girl she'd been crushing on for such a long time, one she for a long time didn't even swing her way, was finally was her's. And on the same day, they were going to a movie.

Life was good.

Dakota nodded "Yeah, it's kinda awkward for me to go into the arcade in the mall." she told her. Mainly because that was where she worked... she hoped; there were some financial problems, and Dakota wasn't so sure she'd get to keep her job much longer. Dakota had to giggle at the theater worker's response to Artemis almost dropping. Honestly, she figured they'd have figured out this sort of thing by now.

Dakota nodded when they entered, and chose their seat. Dakota chose a middle row: not to close to where you couldn't see everything at once, but not too far to where you'd wish it was a bit bigger. Prime real estate for movie watching, in Dakota's opinion "How about here?" Dakota asked, flashing Artemis a very sincere and happy smile.

"Excellent choice!" Artemis said happily, returning the smile to Dakota. Artemis sat down where Dakota indicated it'd be a nice place to sit, and Artemis agreed on the choice. She also felt that it was just right but at times she liked to scoot up just a tiny bit so she could put her feet up on the rails, granted she wasn't wearing a skirt of course. Artemis made the move to go in the row first, walking down so that the two were in the middle. After sitting down, she set the soda in the holder between them. Not even one second of setting it down, Artemis leans over and takes a sip while the soda stayed within the holder.

As she drank, Artemis looked up at Dakota who'd be sitting in the seat next to her, giving her a smile as she drank. After a quick second, she came off the soda and giggled. "It feels nice to be in a theater again," Artemis commented, "The seats are nice and it's not cold nor is it hot; it's just right. I wish our school chairs were like this, it'd make sitting in class a more desirable thing, especially when the seats get cold and you forget to tuck the flap of skirt under you." Artemis shivers at the thought, gigging a bit.

It seemed that the two of them shared taste in theater seats for the most part. Artemis made another good point about the chairs. She nodded and shivered when Artemis mentioned the part about having her skirt flap up.

"Yet another reason why I wish they'd make a pants version of the girl's uniform. Knowing my luck, even if they did, they'd be skin-tight." she told her, rolling her eyes a bit. Dakota hated wearing skirts, for obvious reasons, and she always took the time to change into something else after class, unless she was urgently in a hurry.

She smiled, and had a small amount of the popcorn "Knowing us, the popcorn will be gone before the opening commercials are finished up." she told her, with a joking smirk. Really, there ever was eating contest in Hyakuji, it'd be either her or Artemis that would be the victor.

"You can always wear, like, bike shorts underneath," Artemis suggested, "I've done it from time to time when I expect to be active while wearing my skirts. Though most of the time I just forget. I should try to do it more often since it seems I'm always running and being physical in skirts." Artemis began to get situated, smiling to Dakota after she sat back and relaxed.

Dakota commented on the speed at which the popcorn might disappear, Artemis giggling and nodding, "These previews always take so long. I just wanna watch a movie and not some trailer." Artemis grabbed a bit of popcorn, snacking on some and lightly bumping Dakotas leg with her own. Artemis smiled back to her, giggling a bit as she munched on the popcorn.

"Hmm... interesting." Dakota asked, with a curious smirk "What else can you wear bike shorts under. Wonder if I could use them like boxers?" She doubted it, but if she could, it'd be pretty awesome. She might not be as physically active as Artemis, but it'd definitely be a good thing to wear with the elemancer uniform.

She nodded in agreement with what Artemis told her "Yeah, it's one thing with TV. That's how they pay for the shows, after all. But we payed for the ticket." she told her. Dakota sighed "Well, they do come in handy occasionally. You ever arrive a little late for a movie, and the trailers are still on? Kinda suck if you actually missed the first little bit of the movie instead." Dakota responded to the leg bump by returning it in kind.

Artemis nodded in agreement when Dakota said it was interesting. Dakota then asked what else she could wear it underneath, Artemis thinking for a moment. "I normally wear it under skirts but I guess you could wear it under a full dress or something," Artemis said, "You can always wear them as is since they are meant for biking but I just normally wear them under skirts. We can go get you some after we eat later, how's that sound?"

Dakota then agreed with the previews but also gave an example of how they might be useful, Artemis nodding with a bit of surprise, "Oh! That makes sense! Though I've never been late to a movie, I can see that that'd help." After another moment, the lights dimmed all the way down till they were off and leaving only the very low lights that lit up the pathways. Artemis leaned over and took another sip from the soda, sitting back up and then smiling to Dakota. Artemis moved her hand over to Dakota to hold hers, her small hand looking for Dakotas.

Dakota's lips curled into a grin, as she told her "Good point, but that doesn't really mean anything." She paused for a moment, just to give her a moment to be confused, and possibly to make what she said next a bit more humorous "Like I'd be wearing a dress all day and outside." she told her. Maybe she'd wear a dress in their dorm, but it'd take either a lot of convincing, or the best puppy dog eyes in the history of ever to make her go outside wearing one "They only get me in a skirt at school because there's no pants option."

As the lights dimmed, Dakota spied Artemis moving her hand over towards her. She slowly moved her hand over to her's, and gently held it. She looked over to Artemis for a moment, and gave her a very genuine smile, before turning her attention towards the screen.

<<Do you want to skip to after the movie?>>

Artemis did become confused when she said it wouldn't matter, Dakota then telling her that she wouldn't be caught in a dress. "Oh yeah," Artemis said with a giggle, "But what if we go to a school dance or some fancy occasion, will you wear one then? I'll help you pick one out so it works well with you." Dakota then said that she only wore a skirt cause there wasn't a pants options, Artemis smiling, "Well, there's the bike shorts idea you can use. We'll go pick some out after dinner for sure, 'kay?"

The lights dimmed and the movie played, Artemis enjoying the movie with her girlfriend. After the movie, the lights came back on and Artemis looked to Dakota with a smile. "That was pretty good," Artemis said cheerfully, "What'd you think?" Artemis got up out of her seat, grabbing the empty soda and bucket of popcorn. "This popcorn was nothing. Time for some real food!"

(Sure, unless you wanna word out a whole movie :P)

Dakota was about to explain that if she could get away with it, she'd wear a suit of some sort. Considering that the cat was out of the bag with the whole lesbian relationship thing, she could probably get away with wearing a pantsuit. If she couldn't do that, a skirt suit would have been a better option, but the movie was about to start. She did say "Alright." to the bike shorts though.

When Artemis said she enjoyed the movie, she replied "The acting was a little cheesy, but all and all, I'd say it was pretty good."

Dakota couldn't really expect perfection; still, she had to admit that the movie was pretty good. Too many movies that were coming out seemed to be unoriginal. This one did try to be original to some extent.

Dakota smirked "And yeah. Popcorn's good, but goes right through you. And now I'm getting hungry again. So, how does seafood sound? It can be fried fish or something else cheap, if you want. Or we can pick somewhere more casual. I'm up for other suggestion thought too." she asked, putting her hand out for Artemis to grab.

"Yeah, I suppose it was," Artemis said after Dakota had mentioned how cheesy it was. Artemis stood up with Dakota, Dakota suggesting ideas for what would be nice to eat. "Seafood sounds very good actually," Artemis agreed, taking Dakotas hand and letting her lead, "You pick the spot where we'll eat. I feel like eating some lobster though, maybe even crab. Oh, how about some eel? That sounds delicious too!" Artemis was getting a bit excited, her grip on Dakotas hand tightening as they walked out of the theater. To some, it may appear as if the two were siblings while others it was clear that they had some sort of relationship.

Artemis walked alongside Dakota, looking to her every now and again, giving her girlfriend a smile. "I love you Dakota," Artemis said during one of her instances of looking up at her, "I'm glad we met. You're a very nice person." Artemis moved closer to Dakota, putting an arm around midsection to keep her close.
