Hyakuji Historical Museum Presents: SENGOKU JIDAI: A HISTORY Come and explore Japan's most famous historical era. Open late. Last night. Those banners hung from the outside of the Historical Museum, inviting all bystanders to drop by and look at the exhibits. It was already late at night, close to ten in the evening, but the museum's lights were still on, a good group of people still going through the building looking at the artifacts on display. The exhibit had been in town all week, but this was the last night, and the group that had put it on had spared no expense in making sure that the people who stayed till the end were rewarded. There were actors walking around in period clothes, occasionally hosting demonstrations. Here and there, two daimyo met, samurai engaged in single combat, or ninja dressed all in black slipped through the crowd, appearing out of nowhere and surprising those who were engrossed in the exhibits. A large group of people had stayed to watch a battle being reenacted in the lobby, warriors dressed in different colors fighting with wooden swords under opposing warlords. The battle was just drawing to a close when the following message was broadcasted over the speakers. "Attention all visitors: The Hyakuji Historical Museum will close in thirty minutes. Thank you for your patronage." This would normally be the signal for people to start leaving, and indeed a handful of people did, heading towards the entrance. As always, some stayed behind, choosing to use the remaining thirty minutes to head to areas of the museum they hadn't otherwise been able to visit, or catch one last look. Still, those who had stayed to watch the reenactments would be disappointed. All over the museum, actors began packing up for the night, gathering up their equipment and heading back into restricted areas of the museum to change. Samurai, daimyo, and peasants vanished from the scene. As did the ninja. "The museum will close in fifteen minutes. Thank you for your patronage." The museum was almost empty by now, only a handful of people remaining. Most of those who had stayed were already heading to the entrance. That was when the alarms began to ring. Outside, a figure dressed in black crouched on the rooftop opposite the museum, her head down to avoid being seen. The museum's alarm was loud enough to be heard from the street, lights flashing as people began pouring out of it in panic. Her eyes narrowed, her hand going to the kusari-gama wrapped around her waist. She hadn't expected anything to happen in the museum. She had been downtown training, when the sound of the alarms drew her near. As she looked, she caught sight of other figures in black moving across the museum rooftop, heading towards the back of the building. Suzume Kurohana slipped back into the shadows, disappearing from sight. |

(I hope it is alright to post here, the topic said it was open to one more and this sort of exhibit is right up my character's alley. If there is no room for me in this topic then I will withdraw.) Yukari Shima was lucky to find a pamphlet on the Sengoku Jidai exhibit at the Hyakuji Historical Museum. She had only arrived at the school earlier that day and had not even finished unpacking. Upon learning about the exhibit and seeing that it was closing after today, the 14 year-old hopped on the first train into town and arrived about an hour before the museum was set to close. A little disappointed that she only had an hour to explore the exhibit, Yukari tried to hurry through the various exhibits but the girl had always been fascinated by Japanese feudal history and spent far too much time on individual displays. After hearing the announcement that the museum was going to close soon, Yukari moved to the next part of the gallery but she was not even halfway finished with it when she heard an alarm go off. Surprised as the relatively calm mood of the museum was shattered by the shriek of the alarm, Yukari looked around to see what might have caused it, perhaps someone had simply tried to leave through a fire exit by mistake? |

An eyebrow was sent awry with disbelief, as the entirety of the museum lobby, the prior relative tranquility and light bustle, was replaced with a blazing siren. Well, "relative tranquility" might've been a much too generous term. To be honest, and pardon the language, but the entire exhibit had been a complete gong show. What Xie had expected to be a mildly enlightening seminar on Japan's own Warring States period had turned out to be nothing less than a circus with clowns and sticks. One of the actors even had the decency to smack him in the head. And, just when he was about to leave, the student found himself caught in the middle of a war. Needless to say, there was many a scrambling and flailing limbs, and of shouting and screaming, and of taunts and insults. And, of course, let us not forget scores of armored bulks throwing themselves at every which way. Without a doubt, Xie wasn't much to pleased and became rather verbal during the onslaught. And this brought him the attention of both sides, thinking him to be a rather enthusiastic actor. Thus, hilarity and bruises. In any case, as the dramatization came to an end, Xie was lucky he had only got out of the scrabble with nothing more than a sore throat and a broken pair of glasses. Unfortunately, some ninja had managed to knock it off his face, causing one of the dying warlords to fall on top of it. Even without including armor, the man probably weighed an excess of ninety kilograms. "No wonder he died," Xie chuckled to himself, now comfortably seated at a cafe near the lobby of the place; a moderate sized cup was upon the table before him, steam oozing from the top. It could only be assumed to be filled with coffee. Or, at least it was, until the alarm sounded. Aside from Xie himself, another thing was sent skyward. Namely, his cup of coffee. At the sound of the alarm, some other overly enthusiastic patron had decided it would be best to vacate the premise, all the while bringing down every table he/she came across. Xie stared in bewilderment, his quick eyes registering what would happen in the next few moments. He tried to get out of his chair, but the rather stylish armrests had now become a prison. A trap. "Shi-!' The next moment, a searing pain splashed across his torso, stinging through his clothes. A short sequence of pained expressions, disbelief, shock, and loud exclamations later, the blaring alarm was the last thing on Xie's mind. Rearing an angered snarl, the offended boy turned to caught a hooded figure running deeper into museum. And despite being a near genius, the boy's angered mentality automatically painted it as the criminal. "Damn you, scumbag-ninja-wannabee! Are you just going to walk away from this- Hey! Get your ass over here so I can kick it!" And with that as his graceful cry, Xie chased a questionable figure deeper into the museum, despite the late hour and blaring alarms. Guess having caffeine so late is bad for you. |

"Are you done yet...?! It's already midnight for crying out loud!" A certain young man in a butler suit barked exasperatedly at someone, watching a nearby clock ticking on the wall. "J-just a bit! There's still one more spot I wanna check!" A certain girl's reply who was wearing a big green bow on her head with her signature green and white dress squeaked hastily, darting off from one hallway to another snapping pictures with her phone, much to the chagrin of the young man in the butler suit. It was already odd enough to see her being so interested in history, knowing her actual seven hundred years worth of history. Of course considering he was dragged out this goddamn late at night for some lame ass convention at the museum, he couldn't be bothered to spare any more thought to anything other than his cool creaky bed waiting for him back in his room. Okay, so he was probably also thinking about hot chocolate... Damn, is there any place that sells any nearby, maybe he could get a cup or summat while walking home... RRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! By GOD, WHAT THE HELL?! There should NOT be something THAT loud being sounded so late at night because-... WELL IT'S FREAKING NIGHT TIME, EVERYTHING SHOULD BE QUIET! One has to question his priorities though, being angry about things being loud over what actually caused the alarm. "Oi, Youma!" He called out to the Half-Phantom who is probably still wandering around in the museum somewhere, still calm of course, seeing as he hadn't done anything wrong. "The hell are you, come on, let's get outta here already," He's just worried SHE'S the one doing someth- "...You called?" And there's Youma standing well beyond the... boundary thing, of some swords being displayed just so she could take a poke at it. ...Actually no, she's holding one of the old sword (probably just a replica though) so it really looks like she's trying to take it with her... |

Kayo yawned as she walked through the halls of the museum, making her way to the exit. It was already past her bedtime, but the exhibits and reenactments were so interesting that she could hardly leave before it was all over. Even the trek back to the exit was lengthened by periodic stops to glance at one more artifact before they were packed up and shipped away. The opportunity to gain as much knowledge as possible could not be lost! She paused at one particular artifact to read its label. It was a delicate bowl, painted with the design of sakura blossoms in the height of spring. Paper Mache Bowl, the label read. The young heiress glanced at Yakko-san, her little origami companion, on her left shoulder. "I like this one." she told him, leaning closer to the glass case. Yakko-san nodded, most of his body moving with the action, and leaned forward as well. Kayo frowned slightly. She needed to stop talking to her origami. It was becoming a bad habit. One day, she might accidentally do it in front of people. But Yakko-san understood her, right? She turned her head to look at him, the origami man turning to copy the action. ...Yeah... Results remain inconclusive. It wasn't as if anyone was around to hear her speak to him anyway. Most of the people had already left, and she was on the second floor, near the back. Judging by the time, she had approximately seven minutes and forty-two seconds till the museum closed. Plenty of time to leisurely make her way to the exit... Wait. No it wasn't. Kayo tore her gaze away from the bowl and hurriedly began walking toward the center of the museum. There was an elevator next to the balcony that overlooked the lobby. It was usually very crowded but there were hardly any people left so near to closing time. If the elevator was on her floor when she got to it, she might be able to make the exit before the security guards-- A shrill alarm pierced her ears causing Kayo to stop in her tracks. Lights flashed down the hall, warning her of a danger. Without thinking, Kayo ran towards the balcony, her heartbeat drowned out by the sound of blazing klaxons. |

The alarms blared overhead, the sound practically deafening. The sound of the alarms echoed through the halls, the echoes overlapping and joining with each other so that they drowned out everything else, including the panicked voices of the museum-goers who were being steadily herded towards the door. Policemen in their recognizable uniforms started to appear throughout the museum, searching the exhibits for the source of the alarm. One of those appeared behind Seth and Youma. It was that policeman that placed a hand on Seth's arm, his eyes traveling from the boy to the girl holding the katana. His eyes narrowed sternly, and he gestured at his colleagues, waving them over. One of them went off to find the controls for the alarm. "I think you need to come with me," the policeman said, directing Seth and Youma to move away from the exhibits. Some other members of the police had come up to them, summoned away from searching the rest of the museum. There were about five of them in total, one, a short, slender policewoman, carrying herself with the same confidence as a Hyakuji student who had powers might, and one who knew how to use them. Their eyes moved from Youma to the sword, and something in their expressions said that they believed this was and open and shut case. From the looks of it, it looked like the two of them were in big trouble. Xie, meanwhile, followed the ninja deeper into the museum, past exhibits that had already been closed for the day. The ninja moved on, not looking back, so that it almost appeared as though he was unaware he was being pursued. He reached a door at the end of the hallway, one marked AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY with a flashing light above it that pulsed in time with the alarm. The ninja opened the door a crack, slipping through it. If Xie decided to follow the ninja through the door, despite the warning, he would be greeted with a much darker hallway than that of the main museum. The sounds of the alarm would be dulled as he closed the door behind him, this side of the museum much quieter than the publicly accessible side. The lights would be out, making it more difficult to see, and the ninja would appear to be gone. On one of the walls next to the door was a device, one that looked like it was connected to the alarm system. As Xie watched, the alarms would die down outside, the flashing lights on the device slowly going out, except for one, an orange light at the bottom of the machine labeled Supernatural Event Detected. Could the museum have something in their alarm system designed to detect suspicious uses of magic? It would make sense in a town like Hyakuji, but what could that mean? Perhaps the alarm had been tripped by more than just the simple moving of a sword. Either way, Xie had a choice now. He could turn back and report this to someone, or he could continue on, following the ninja deeper into the museum's archives. He could even do something completely different, perhaps inspect the alarm. But one thing was clear. He would have to choose soon, because it wouldn't be long until the police assumed control of the building, and it wouldn't bode well if they found him here. Yukari and Kayo had two choices. From where they stood, as they looked around the museum, they would see two things going on. The most obvious would be Seth and Youma, standing on the lower level next to a sword exhibit, with a group of policemen surrounding them. It looked as though Youma had triggered the alarm when she lifted a sword out of its case. Perhaps they could go down there and see for themselves what was going on. Or, if they were particularly observant, they might have seen someone dressed as a ninja on the second floor, slipping through one of the doors marked AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY. If they watched closer, they might have seen Xie following the ninja, heading towards that same door. But whether they followed Xie or went to Seth would be their call in the end. The alarms slowly died down, the police officer that had gone to find the controls apparently succeeding and leaving the museum quiet again. Suzume crept silently across the roof of the museum, watching hidden as the pair of ninja she was tracking slipped down the side of the museum, entering through a window. She padded lightly over to where they were, glancing at their entrance from her hiding place. They were definitely shinobi, she was sure of that now. But they weren't Kurohana shinobi, which meant that they were either from one of the lesser clans, or from the Wind--the clan that had attacked her family. Somehow, a part of Suzume knew which they would be. She sucked in a breath, her fingers curling tightly around the edge of the roof. Her mind raced, thinking back to the layout of the museum. This place, as far as she remembered, wasn't in the publicly accessible portions of the museum, which meant that it was part of the archives, where old exhibits were stored. After a moment of thought, the ninja crept quietly down the roof, disappearing into the shadows as she entered the building. |

Unsurprisingly, Xie's rage wasn't enough to allow him to catch the ninja. However, it did allow the tailed-hair boy to keep up. Though, truth be told, it was a wonder that the ninja didn't seem to have caught on that he was being chased. After all, Xie wasn't exactly stalking the individual, he was going at a full sprint, shouting profanities and threats in much the same manner as his prior verbatim. Perhaps the alarm drowned out his voice. Actually, that was probably the case, the thing being unbearably loud. The Alchemist rounded the corner just in time to see the shaded figure slip beyond the door. A door marked with characters that set it off limits to patrons just like himself. Well, what would he do now? Xie frowned, taking a step forward. The flashing light above the door taunted him, as if daring him to just try and go beyond. The answer was obvious. Well, the choice for him to make was obvious, in any case. Without even batting an eye, Xie opened the door and stepped through. Inside, the boy was confronted by a pulsing darkness, occasionally illuminated by the sirens of the alarm. But, back here, especially as the door closed behind him, the previously mind-numbing blare seemed to have died down; muffled. But, something much more interesting has just appeared; far more curious than some nut job in black clothes. "Supernatural event... detected?" the boy mused slowly, approaching the blinking letters. It was hard to say whether he was surprised or not; such tools for detecting supernatural activity were present all over the world. However, Xie had never seen one that looked like this. But, more importantly, it meant that something more was going on than some sticky-fingered patron. Taking his eyes of the contraption, Xie tried scanning the room for any signs of that ninja he had been chasing. However, his brief window of distraction and the utter darkness made it hard to catch any signs of the individual. The man(?) was probably long gone. The thoughts of alerting the proper authorities never occurred to the boy. He had lived the life of a traveling vagrant long enough to develop a keen distrust of any branch of authority. Thus, like the door before, Xie continued, stepping confidently down the dark hallway, a kindling emotion in his chest. A burning emotion of curiosity that demanded satiation. |

As she looked around to find out what had caused the alarm, Yukari noticed a figure slipping through a door marked 'Authorized Personnel Only'. Perhaps that door had an alarm on it so that was what triggered the alarm. No that did not make sense, the alarm had triggered well before the door had been opened. As she started to walk towards the door she noticed another figure go up to the door open it and run inside. Perhaps they were just employees trying to find out what had caused the alarm themselves. No that could not be it either. Yukari had not been able to get a good look at either figure but she saw enough of the second one to tell they were not wearing a museum uniform. Overtaken with curiosity Yukari quickly made her way towards the door, opened it and entered a dark hallway, nearly running into the second figure (Xie) as she did so. |

Oh my god... just... WHY...?! It's taking him all his strength to stop himself from face palm- no he can't stop it, it's just too much. If it's not one thing it's another, but this has got to be a one in a million chance to get caught up in something of THIS level of absurdity... "...Uhm. I-I just wanted to touch it...! You know, I... I like swords! They're really cool, see! I even have two of my own-" "Don't. Make any more trouble," A good thing Seth interrupted the girl since he noticed she was about to summon her own Hakurouken and Roukanken. And knowing the girl, he knew she's probably just going to do it in a panicky and dumb attempt to prove herself, but god knows what it could be taken as by the police. "Don't touch me," Though he was irritated enough by tonight's turn of events to talk back on the police officer, yanking himself away from the man. Though he's got enough self-restraint to not do anything else. "Yeah yeah, sure, I'm coming... just don't touch me," He said with a grumble, turning around and beckoning the very guilty-faced Half-Phantom, "...hueee..." to follow him. Just as long as she doesn't get too panicky and flub up everything while trying to explain themselves they could probably get away from this scot-free. Probably. He's not banking on it though. Policewoman is a shorty. |

Kayo stood at the balcony of the second floor, watching the scene unfold before her. Because the alarm was so loud, she was confused when Yakko-san dropped her phone in her hand, until she noticed the faint buzzing. "HELLO?!" she answered, yelling to be heard over the alarm. "Kayo, where are you?" replied her caller. Kayo had to cover her other ear in order to hear. It was Sebastian, her butler-bodyguard. Kayo. Not Ojou-sama. It was bad. "ER... I'M AT THE MUSEUM-- Oh, wait. The alarm stopped." she replied. "I want you to leave." Sebastian told her. "It's not safe there." "I know, I know..." Kayo caught sight of the ninja from across the balcony. He ran into a corridor before she was able to see any details, but she did catch sight of two others, students most likely, chasing after him. A ninja that was seen... was not a very good ninja. "But, I'm kind of already involved. One second..." "HEY!" she called out to one of the policemen surrounding Seth and his friend(?). "CATCH!" With that, Kayo vaulted the railing and jumped down to the first floor. She could hear Sebastian's audible intake of breath on the other end. That was his version of a surprised yell. Kayo thanked the confused policeman that had caught her and turned away to finish her conversation. Sebastian sighed and after a moment, he spoke. "Okay. I think I may have some units in the area that I can send to help you. he told her, referring to the bodyguards he sent to follow her around. The ones she told him she didn't need. She assumed they were there anyway, but she had never seen them, so she was starting to doubt their existence. "Just... try not to get into too much trouble, alright?" "I won't. Don't worry!" Kayo assured him, hanging up the phone. Now, however, she needed to find a way to get the police to follow the ninja, and not Seth. Seth wasn't the problem here. "Hey... Um... HEY!" Kayo called out, tugging at various articles of police clothing. "There's-- Listen! Over there... A ninja!" None of them were listening, though, taking her to be an ordinary little kid staying up past her bedtime. Many of them ignored her, some of them brushed her off. Finally, one of the policemen, the one holding a megaphone to try and direct the last of the people in the museum, turned to speak to her. "Hey! Do your parents know you're up this late?" he asked with sneering condescension. He bent down and patted her on the head. "Run along now. There aren't any real ninjas here. Just fake ones from the exhibit. If you're good, we might even give you a lollipop!~" Kayo frowned. She was getting tired of this babying. With one quick motion, she snatched the megaphone out of his hand and pointed it at his face, conveniently near. "MY NAME IS KAYO KIKUCHI." she told him, the air from the megaphone making his hair fly back. The stunned policeman fell backwards and Kayo turned to the rest of the force. "MY FATHER IS KATSURO KIKUCHI. I UNDERSTAND THAT HE FUNDS YOUR DEPARTMENT. IF YOU DO NOT LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY, I WILL TELL HIM TO CUT ALL FUNDING TO THE HYAKUJI POLICE." "THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT THE CAUSE OF THE ALARM. THERE IS A NINJA ON THE SECOND FLOOR. A REAL ONE. HE IS THE ONE AFTER WHICH YOU SHOULD BE CHASING." "DO. I. MAKE. MYSELF. CLEAR!?" The policewoman holding Seth let go and saluted. "Y-yes, ma'am!" The other policemen quickly followed suit, and Kayo shoved the megaphone back to the first one who passed by her. She glanced at the policeman on the floor to her left, the one that had insulted her. She glared, and for a moment, she was the very picture of her father. "I don't like lollipops." This wasn't necessarily true, but their lollipops were probably condescension-flavoured anyway. Edited by Kayo, Dec 28 2013, 11:33 PM.

Seth, Youma and Kayo The policemen stared at Kayo, bewildered expressions on their faces as they looked from her to the megaphone in her hand. Seth and Youma were forgotten for a moment, the five of them exchanging glances with each other. "Oi," one of them muttered. "...If she really is Kikuchi's daughter..." "Shh," said another. "Let the captain handle this..." "But--" the first man began. "Quiet, both of you," said the captain, the one who had addressed Seth and Youma in the first place. He glanced back at them, then at the lone policewoman, who stood watch. "Oshiro, keep an eye on them." He inclined his head towards Seth, Youma, and Kayo. "Someone else, go check the tapes." If there really was a ninja to worry about, it would probably show up on the security feed. At least, that was what the captain was thinking. The policewoman, identified only as Oshiro, came to stand in front of Seth and Youma, watching them carefully. She was a short woman, with short-cropped black hair and hard eyes, and she kept them focused on Seth. It was clear that she wasn't about to let them go anywhere until this was straightened out. But it would also be clear, if Seth believed Kayo, that there really was a ninja, and none of them would be able to get anything done just sitting out here. Xie and Yukari The hallway was dark and narrow, filled with twisting turns and lined with closed doors on either side. Most of these, if the two of them tried them, would be locked. The others opened into rooms filled with metal cabinets and specimen drawers, with labels identifying what was being kept in them. All of the rooms were empty of people, so that for a moment it might even look like Xie and Yukari might have imagined the ninja. At least until they reached the staircase at the end of the hall, leading down towards the basement archives. Voices drifted up from the stairs towards them, the sound of an argument. The voices were hushed, as though the people speaking were trying to be quiet, but the two of them might be able to make out a few phrases. "...was I supposed to know...?" "It's not Keiko's fault...you didn't inform..." "Your people were supposed to have...under control..." "Now, now, Hitoshi-san..." The room at the foot of the stairs opened up into a larger chamber, filled with statues and artifacts that looked to be from other periods of Japan, or at least they would have, if the room was lit by anything more than the small lights that four out of its seven occupants carried, their glow dimmed so that only the smallest amount of light escaped, only enough to let their group accustom their eyes to the darkness. In the near darkness, five of them--two in dark clothes and the other three wearing cloaks to hide their faces--argued. At least one of the other three, a slight figure who stood with her hands clasped in front of her and was obviously shaking, was female. There were discarded black robes on the ground, as though one of the cloaked figures had stripped themselves of the shinobi outfit almost as soon as they entered the room. A pair of ninja guarded the only two entrances to the room, keeping an eye on the conversation as well. Suzume watched from a ventilation shaft built into the wall of the room, afraid to breathe. She had a knife in one hand--the shaft was too narrow to allow her to draw her sword--and did her best to remain perfectly still, trying to hear the conversation better. The air was on, a low hum in the background that chilled her through her robes and helped conceal any sound she might make, but also drowned out any hope of hearing the conversation clearly. She knew what she was seeing, at least. From the looks of it, it was an argument. And also, from the looks of it, they'd come to rob the museum. There was no one out here besides them, no target to make this an assassination mission. So what did the Wind want, and who were those people they had brought with them? They weren't shinobi, that much was obvious. Shinobi wouldn't be so loud. And yet... Everything about this situation bothered her. Although she couldn't hear what was happening, the tension below had reached a height. She could tell that whatever was brewing below her was ready to explode at any moment. And Yukari and Xie, if they made their way down the stairs, might just walk right into it. Edited by Chizu, Dec 29 2013, 08:57 PM.

Xie continued straight down the hallway, not giving the doors which lined either side more than a passing glance. It was unlikely that the perpetrator had hid himself in one of the room; with the waned alarm and nigh silence of the darkness, Xie was confident he would've heard something as ostentatious as a door being opened. Or, so he thought. A moment later, footsteps. Coming from behind him. Xie tensed. And in the next moment, whipped around, extending his pointer finger at Yukari. "Thought you could-!?" The Alchemist stopped, puzzlement filling his eyes. He had never seen this person before, but even Xie could tell that she wasn't the person that he had been trailing. First of all, Yukari looked nothing like a cloaked and hooded man. Secondly, she was clumsy enough to almost walk into the person in the dark. Xie knew nothing about ninjas, but he was fairly certain that they shouldn't do that. "Tch, just some girl," the boy made an irritated sound, bringing his hand down and away from the girl's face. "Can't you read?" he said, his dark red eyes glowing in the dark. His tone bellied a sort of anger; though not at the fact that Yukari was trespassing but that she had bumped into him. "'Authorized Personnel Only'," Xie spoke slowly, making sure to enunciate each syllable. "And you are clearly not authorized." He was completely mocking her. But, before Yukari was even given the chance to reply, Xie turned around, continuing down the corridor with brisk steps. He had not time to waste upon a lost girl. The boy had a ninja to catch. Arriving at the top of the staircase, Xie halted when the sounds of what seemed like an argument entered his ears. From what he could tell, there was more than one person below. And that tensions seemed to be quite strained. Well, what would you expect? He was an academic, not a spy. The question is, would that deter him from going down the stairs? Xie went down the stairs, without even the slightest thought of masking his steps. When he reached the bottom, Xie stopped as he came before the two ninjas. Surprisingly, his attention seemed to be focused entirely upon the two guardsmen, rather than the group beyond. "Hey! Which one of you scumbags knocked over my coffee?!" Xie shot the question towards the two guardsmen, staring at one and the other. Well, they were both robed and cloked, and truth be told, Xie couldn't differentiate between either of them. And he also couldn't tell if either of them was the one who knocked over his coffee. But that wasn't going to stop Xie. Obviously, either this boy was extremely senseless or had an surmountable ego and confidence. Extending an open hand, he continued by shouting "Whoever it was better give me back my five hundred yen!" Edited by Fallen_shinku, Dec 30 2013, 11:42 PM.

Yukari gasped as she nearly bumped into a boy in the dark room. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness she could see that it was a boy a little bit taller than she was. He clearly wasn't an employee at the museum. She bristled as he mocked her and asked her why she was back here and if she had seen the sign. What a hypocrite! He clearly was not authorized to be back here too. Yukari was made even more angry when the boy just ran off without giving her a chance to explain. She wasn't about to let that go so easily and quickly followed him down the steps, her eyes now adjusted to the dim light. She caught sight of the rude boy again yelling at some darkly robbed figures. She didn't hear what he was saying exactly, some nonsense about coffee and 500 yen. Yukari was about to call out to him as she arrived at the bottom of the stairs, then she got a glimpse of the way the two figures he was shouting at were dressed...ninjas. Somehow Yukari got the feeling that this wasn't the museum's volunteer lounge. It was too late now though. A surprised and mildly angry Yukari and an angry rude boy (Xie) now faced off with what looked like a pair of ninja. |

There is only one thing he could really think of saying right now. "KAYO KIKUCHI!" All of a sudden Seth barked out angrily at the girl, probably loud enough to startle even a few of the policemen around his arms folded and his expression as stern as the sternest of people. "What did you think you were doing, don't you know how dangerous that little stunt was?!" Of all the things he could have been worried about, scolding the girl was the first thing he's got in his mind, as though she was his own misbehaving little sister. "What if no one had caught you and you had gotten hurt or something, how much people do you think would get worried sick if that happened?!" It's often very hard for people to actually know what's in his mind, even more so when more often than not he always has that grumpy and rude exterior of his. But he also has this weakness of always acting by his emotion, and that's when people could learn his true thoughts. Like right now, he's really angry! "I don't want you to do anything that dangerous ever again, do you understand!" ...Though he could have at least thanked her for saving his ass from getting jailed. A deep breath and a long sigh, he paused for a moment as he stared down at Kayo, before then patting the girl on the head. Well he can't really just straight up say "Thanks for saving me from the cops," can he? ... Anyway, back to the main event at hand. If there really is a real ninja-infiltrator people here who are actually up to some real no good, then aren't they pretty much wasting time here right now? At the very least they have enough sense to send one person to check the recordings, but come now, it's not like him and Youma are the ones that needs watching. Buh. His eyes went back to Oshiro, returning her gaze with his own equally hard one. Then he glanced at Youma, who blankly looked back at Seth, who looked back at Oshiro. Then he raised a hand and patted the half-phantom on the head, and raised another hand and patted the policewoman on the head. "You're both short," ...What kind of priorities does he have...?! THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN HE TURNED AROUND AND BOLTED AWAY FROM THAT SPOT AS FAST AS HE COULD! Of course, he clearly expected to be chased so before that- "W-w-wait! H-he's just going to check the second floor, if there's any ninja-thief or something he'll take care of them! He won't run away, promise!" the half-phantom herself was perceptive enough to jump in the way and stop any that tries to pursue him! |

~Sugar-Coated Insanity of HYPERNESS~
|
Kayo stared up at Seth as he scolded her. She knew it was just because he cared, but that didn't make his yelling any better. Sebastian never yelled. He was always calm, but with the potential to be very, very scary. The girl pouted when Seth made very clear that she was never to pull such a dangerous stunt again, and she suddenly became very interested in the tip of her left shoe. It was starting to wear a little. Very interesting. "I understand..." she mumbled at her shoe. "I'm sorry..." And then he patted her on the head, and Kayo felt better. That was as much thanks as she needed. Seth was just bad at speaking to people. It kind of felt like a "good job", "thanks", and "you little idiot" all rolled into one. She looked up at him and smiled, her face brightening again. Now, back to business. Kayo stepped aside to let Seth through to the Oshiro, curious as to what the boy might do. She watched as he patted both the girl he was with and the policewoman on the head before... WAIT! HE WAS RUNNING AWAY?! No time to think! Kayo turned and ran after him as soon as he passed her. She glanced back to see Youma jump in front of the policewoman as she tried to chase them. Thank you! Kayo thought to her. She had no time to actually thank her; the police would soon be on their tails. They needed to use the precious little time that the half-phantom bought them. Wait, how does she know so much about them? Nevermind. From somewhere in her bag, Kayo heard her phone ring. "Yakko-san!" she called out, and the origami man jumped down to her bag. "Can you take that for me, please?" It was probably Sebastian, calling to tell her that this was what he considered "getting into trouble". As Yakko-san struggled with her phone, using a stylus because he didn't have fingers for the touch screen, Kayo glanced back to see all five policemen towards them. They were a pretty good distance away, but Kayo had no idea how they got past Youma in the first place. And they just left her. Their supposed culprit for a theft. All of them. Kayo began to seriously question the competency of the Hyakuji Police Department. This was probably why there were so many disasters... Just leave it all to the students, why don't you? She might actually consider talking to her father about that... Suddenly, loud music began blaring out of her phone as Yakko-san messed up with the call. "WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?!" Kayo yelled as she continued to follow Seth. There was a hall coming up on their left. It led to one of the interactive samurai exhibits. They made a quick turn into the exhibit, Kayo running face first into some drying sheets. Weren't they supposed to pack up?! She tossed down the entire display in her struggle to get out in time, hopefully blocking some of the policemen's way. A quick glance told her that three of them were able to cleanly jump over the obstacle. They needed to find another way to lose them. Down under a house, Kayo slid to try and escape them. She was small enough to fit. A sudden realization caused her eyes to widen and she drew her hand to her chin as she slid, her expression gravely serious. Could this possibly be what Seth just told her not to do? Oh no. Would he scold her again? As she thought, she felt the ground slope gradually down until... SHE WENT DOWN A SWIRLY SLIDE! Kayo let out a small yelp as she slid all the way down. Why was this even here?! What was up with this museum?! She reached the bottom and started running. One of the policemen, the shorty Oshiro, came out of the slide after. The other four were probably after Seth. There! She saw them! The four were chasing Seth through random halls and exhibits. For some reason, one of them was now half wearing a dress. And two others were holding balloon swords. Unless something happened soon, Kayo might be forced to pull the portal door trick. How long would she have to run!? |
