It all happened so fast. One minute he had his enemy trapped, and he was escaping. The next minute, he is the one trapped. In the time it takes for him to think up a plan to attack, she has already activated another spell, luckily different. And then everything vanishes.

Is… is this death?

...

"-ya… zuya... ake up! Are you okay?" Apparently not. Either the afterlife was run by a fantasy geek, or there’s something very wrong with the fact that he and Krios are in a radically different place from the warehouses they were at earlier. “Ugh, I feel like I got hit by a truck… aside from that though, I’m fine. What about you?” While half listening to her response, he surveys around the area, looking around for anything hostile. So far, it seems to be empty of any life, save the two of them. It’s similar to…

“Lady Nietzche! If you’re the reason we’re here, can you say so?!”

Well, it was worth a shot.

Fang breathed a sigh of relief. “I'm glad you're alright. Hate to be stuck here by me-self and have to explain to other people why you're never coming back. That is, if I made it back even." Call her selfish, but misery loves company.

Given the circumstances, getting that by a truck might have been preferable to meeting some blood manipulating psychopath who warped them to another dimension. Strange noises that sounded vaguely animalistic rang out from the woods around them, though there was always some kind of otherworldly taint to them. While the area looked devoid of life, there were signs that people -or at least something alive- had been through here recently if one looked for them. Humanoid foot steps in the dirt, trampled grass, broken twigs, and other such tell-tale signs.

Fang offered her hand to the fallen boy, but didn't seem too sure about her own footing. Something about the gravity and air just didn't feel right. It wasn't too different from Earth's, but it was just different enough to be annoying. Though all-in-all it shouldn't take their bodies long before they accustom to this atmosphere.

After both were standing, she turned to face him with mild intrigue in her eyes. “So you got 'em too, huh? Powers, I mean." She chuckled and looked toward the temple. It made sense, they were at a high school for people with powers after all. But she couldn't help but feel a little betrayed. Here she had thought he had been another normal like her, but even nerdy Kazuya had powers. At the very least he wasn't a dick about them like some people she had met were. “So what can you do? Make walls out of thin air?"

Yep, nothing. Granted, the odds of his current… “situation” being the work of Lady Nietzche were comicly low, but still… doesn’t hurt to check. Before he can ponder more on the matter, a simple, obvious question sends shivers down his spine.

“So you got 'em too, huh? Powers, I mean.So what can you do? Make walls out of thin air?" The moment he had been dreading. Lady Weiss and Lady Nietzche never asked too many questions about his magic, and he never met Shindou after the one “incident”, but there’s no way out of it this time, now that he openly showed off his talents. A quick sigh of disappointment escapes his breath, before looking Krios in the eyes. “You caught me, I’m a mage. I’ve been trying to keep it a secret, and before today I would’ve said I did a good job at it. But now that we’re stuck like this, I might as well give you a summary.”

After taking a look around to check for an “uninvited audience”, he briefly shows off his hands and sleeves, effectively showing that the rest of his “performance” was with his own talents. Suddenly, in his right hand is a cylindrical belt quiver, completely empty, at least at the moment. Next, he slides his left hand inside of the quiver. The moment he pulls it out, the quiver has at least thirty identical arrows. After taking the time to put the quiver on, he holds both of his hands, as if presenting an unseen item to her. After a second, a wooden recurve bow would appear in his hands. “... So yeah, it’s not just walls. Also, it’s not something unique to me, exactly. Anyone can learn magic. Hell, I could probably even teach you a simple spell, so long as you keep the fact that I can do this a secret.” After taking the brief period to not only briefly show off his powers, but also arm himself, he heads towards the temple, the only obvious landmark in the area. Maybe there’s a way out in there.

… …

… … ...

“Obviously, the lessons would have to wait until we somehow make it out of here.”

Gone was the sour expression, and gone was the harsh voice, both replaced by an almost child-like curiosity and wonder. Fang stared wide-eyed as Kazuya preformed his display of power. The ability to make things out of thin air and saying its not unique seemed like an oxymoron. If anyone could learn this, why had she not it before? You'd think something as useful as that would be more commonly practiced!

“Th-that's pretty damn cool!" Fang stuttered as she followed after the boy. “But why wouldja wanna go about keepin' that a secret? Everybody else at Hyakuji has powers too, it's not like they'll shun you or anything." She had to admit, she was envious. Even if he said everybody could learn it, that didn't necessarily mean normals like her could. But that's fine! She didn't need powers. She got on by with her own two fists just fine; powers were for weak people who don't know how to defend themselves in any other way!

But...she didn't think of Kazuya like that. He had proved he knew how to defend himself pretty well in the fight earlier. Even if he did use his ability, he mostly used his own strength. His will clashed against that of the guards, and he came out on top! It was a moment to be proud of.

Once they entered the temple, they would notice that the inside looked a lot more inhabited than the outside. The difference was practically night and day. The floors and walls were made from a polished grey stone, though runic lines of precious looking crystal spider webbed all over the walls. If they began to approach a wall, the lines would glow faintly. The ceiling yawned overhead about ten meters; baskets of what looked like snow hung from the shadow-shrouded roof. Flanking a pathway from the entrance were a series of waist high pillars, at the tops of which were braziers that had long since burned out. There were a couple other furnishings and odds and ends, but nothing that looked very important. Two hallways extended off the far left and far right walls, and a pair of heavy looking doors loomed at the far end of the room.

“Huh. Looks better n' most old churches I've seen. She pointed to the braziers. “Gotta light?"

In response to the question, Kazuya simply shakes his head. “Afraid I don’t. I could probably make matches or something, but I wouldn’t suggest it.” As though it seemed the most obvious thing in the world, Kazuya continues to spout whatever likely incorrect thoughts come into his head. “Think about it for a second. I’m pretty sure there isn’t a place like this anywhere near the city, so we were sent here by… I don’t know, teleportation or something. The how’s aren’t important. What’s important is why…” While going over everything in his head, Kazuya taps his chin, as if he is trying to overclock his brain. “Bloody Mary could’ve easily slaughtered us if she wanted to… hell, she DID. She took the time to send us here… a place where the only noticeable landmark is this place… Oh damn.”

The moment he realizes something, he quickly turns the corner, and attempts to stay hidden. “So yeah, I’m guessing we may be right in the middle of their territory.”

Fang shrugged her shoulders. No flame, no loss. She just figured maybe some light would help, but oddly enough even the places that seemed like they should be too dark to see were still slightly illuminated. This would prove true to Kazuya as he turned the corner and was met with a spiraling downward staircase. The dimly visible bend out of sight suggested that the next floor down was a little further on.

Not wanting to be left too far behind, she made her way to his side. "Good point, though I didn't think you a detective, Sherlock." Even through her accented words the dry tone in her voice was apparent, perhaps even amplified by it. Her eyes rolled to look him in the face and she tried to guess how he was feeling. Was he scared? Excited? For her, it was a mixture of both. "But if we're right in tha middle, where are they and are they expecting us?" Perhaps it was unfair to ask, as it was highly unlikely that he knew the answers, but maybe his 'detective' skills would come in handy.

She began to move down the stairs at a steady pace. "Tell ya what. I'll take point since I don't have a distance weapon. If we do get attacked, I'll try to keep 'em off ya. We'll do this RPG-style. Tanks in front, squishy archers in back." Despite the situation she found herself smiling. 'I kinda sound like Dizzy now...'

When he sees the staircase going down, he looks down the stairs, to confirm that they won’t run into somebody while in such tight quarters. Before he can move down the stairs, Krios all but forces her way past him, and gives what may or may not be a compliment on his “deduction skills, which Kazuya received with a smirk”. “Krios, you didn’t ‘think I a mage’ until a couple of minutes ago. Stick around after we get out of here, and you’ll probably be able to learn some more about me.“

As they start going down the stairs, he nocks an arrow in his bow, while trying to keep his eyes and ears scanning the entire area, so that they won’t be caught by surprise. Then he hears her other comment. “Squishy Archers in the back.” That comment is what gets his attention. The mere thought of being compared to an archer brings up memories of useless archers in his games, that are without a double the most worthless class, even compared to the healers. “Don’t call me an archer. If we’re going by classes, I’m a mage, not an archer.”

She stopped and gave him a dirty look. Was he really going to argue about this now?! Here?! Well...she guessed it was kinda her fault, she did bring it up first. "But you don't cast fire balls. Or wind magic. Or blizzard spells, or lightning ones either. And the rules of Inferno Emblem are clear: Mages cast anima magic. If I meet you half-way and call you a Magic Archer, like the class from Dragon's Thesis, will that make you happy?"

Finally they would come to a landing that opened into a larger room with bizarre looking machinery; at least Fang guessed they were machines, though since they were technically in a whole other dimension they could be anything. A few figures, clad in similar garb to the grunts they had meet outside the warehouse, made their way about the room fussing with various panels and screens(?). A few more obviously furniture furnishings dotted the room, making this seem something more of a guard's room of sorts. The scattered couches and tables would allow cover for a more roguish approach, for those so inclined. Of course, Fang was a more in-your-face kinda gal.

But she wasn't stupid.

Most of the time. Most.

"I say we go in an' bash their faces in with the element of suprise," She whispered. "Unless you have a better idea?" If Kazuya wanted a more tactical approach, this was his chance. If not, Fang was rarin' for a beatdown brawl.

… Where to even begin? Does he question why someone like Krios even plays that series, question the OTHER series she mentioned, or just ignore the entire video game idea at all. As he scopes out the area, he finds himself slightly distracted from thinking of a plan, mostly because he keeps thinking of old video games!

Video games...

"Okay Krios, stay on your toes, follow me, stick close, and get ready to pounce if things go wrong. Which they very easily could, because this is the worst idea I've ever had." After giving his "partner" the briefest of summaries, Kazuya would reach out as far as he could, metaphorically speaking, and create a few small stones just above the ground, and allow them to drop, hopefully making a loud enough sound to get their attention away from where he and Krios were hiding. Assuming their attention was diverted, he and Krios would attempt to move closer, just behind some furniture, and use it to conceal themselves, before making another creation to distract them. Once the guards look back, they would see a cardboard box in the middle of the room, large enough to hide a person.

What Kazuya knows, that neither Krios nor the guards know, is that the box does not conceal a secret agent, but is merely empty.
